Description

推定装置、および推定方法
 本開示は、推定装置、および推定方法に関する。
 地球システムモデル(ESM:Earth System Models)は、人間活動が地球の炭素循環を含む地球の物質循環や海洋生態系および海洋資源に及ぼす影響を明らかにするための、重要なツールである。ESMは、構成要素の一つとして、海洋生物地球化学モデル(OBM:Ocean biogeochemistry models)を含む。OBMは、海洋の生物地球化学的特性と、それらの特性が時間とともにどのように変化するかを説明するために使用される。
 例えば、OBMの一つの例として、生物地球化学モデル(BLING:Biogeochemistry with Light, Iron, Nutrients and Gas)がある(非特許文献1)。非特許文献1が開示するモデルは、小さいプランクトンと大きいプランクトン等の海洋微生物の成長率および損失率を表現する。
 非特許文献1の海洋微生物の成長率および損失率は、海洋物理モデル、およびOBM値の変化に対して推定される。しかしながら海洋微生物の進化速度は速い。海洋微生物の成長率等は、さらに、時間の進行を考慮するなど、より正確に推定されることが好ましい。

 本開示の一態様の推定方法は、コンピュータが、各時間ステップにおいて、海洋物理モデルから算出された海洋物理値とOBM(海洋生物地球化学モデル)を用いて、海洋微生物の成長率を含む、OBM値を算出し、前記各時間ステップにおける前記海洋物理値と前記OBM値との関係から、各時間ステップにおける前記海洋微生物の成長率を推定する学習モデルを学習し、各時間ステップにおいて、前記海洋物理モデルから算出された海洋物理値とOBMを用いて、前記海洋微生物の成長率以外のOBM値を算出し、前記学習モデルを用いて、前記海洋物理値と前記海洋微生物の成長率以外のOBM値から、前記海洋微生物の成長率を推定する。
 本開示によれば、海洋微生物の進化による成長率を、より正確に推定可能な技術を提供することができる。

 以下、図面を参照して、本開示の実施の形態を説明する。図面の記載において同一部分には同一符号を付し説明を省略する。
 (推定装置)
 本開示に係る推定装置1は、海洋生物地球化学モデル(以下、OBM)において、海洋微生物の進化による成長率を、より正確に推定する。推定装置1は、時間の進行を考慮して、海洋微生物の成長率または損失率を推定する。推定装置1は、海洋微生物の進化スピードを、成長率または損失率に反映することを可能とする。
 図1に示すように推定装置1は、モデル生成部10、および推定部20の各機能と、入力データを記憶する入力データ記憶部30、学習モデルデータ41および推定データ28を備える。各機能は、CPU901に実装される。各データは、メモリ902またはストレージ903等の記憶装置に記憶される。
 モデル生成部10は、入力データ記憶部30の各データを参照して、各時間ステップにおける海洋微生物の成長率を推定する学習モデルを生成する。モデル生成部10は、生成した学習モデルを特定する学習モデルデータ41を出力する。
 推定部20は、入力データ記憶部30の各データとモデル生成部10が生成した学習モデルを参照して、各時間ステップにおける海洋微生物の成長率を推定する。推定部20は、各時間ステップに、その時間ステップにおける海洋微生物の成長率を対応づけて、推定データ28を生成する。
 本開示に係る推定装置1は、海洋微生物の種別毎に、成長率を推測する学習モデルを生成しても良い。海洋微生物の成長率は、時間ステップおよび種別毎に推定される。
 本開示において推定部20は、モデル生成部10が生成した学習モデルの解像度よりも、低解像度で、海洋微生物の成長率を推定しても良い。高解像度で、海洋微生物の成長率を推定する場合に比べて、推定部20における処理負担が、軽減される。
 本開示に係る推定装置1は、海洋微生物の成長率を推定する学習モデルを生成し、各時間ステップにおける海洋微生物の成長率を推定する場合を説明するが、これに限らない。推定装置1は、海洋微生物の損失率も同様に推定しても良い。本開示において、海洋微生物は、海洋に存在する植物プランクトンである。
 海洋物理モデルは、海流の流速ベクトル、塩分濃度など、海洋の物理状態を特定するパラメータを算出するモデルである。海洋物理値は、海洋の物理状態を特定するパラメータの値である。海洋物理モデルおよび海洋物理値は、それぞれ複数の要素を含んでも良い。
 OBMは、栄養塩またはプランクトンなどの濃度、植物プランクトンの成長率、鉄不足を表すパラメータなどの、海洋における生物地球化学的特性を特定するパラメータを算出するモデルである。OBM値は、海洋における生物地球化学的特性を特定するパラメータの値である。OBMおよびOBM値は、それぞれ複数の要素を含んでも良い。
 一般的に、植物プランクトンの成長率μは、式(1)により示される。式(1)は、植物プランクトンの成長率が、時間の進展により変化しないことを示す。
 これに対し、本開示に係る推定装置1が推定する植物プランクトンの成長率は、植物プランクトンの進化を考慮して、時間ステップ毎に推定される。これにより、植物プランクトンの成長率の変化を、より正確に推定することができる。また本開示に係る推定装置1は、海洋の物理的な状態と、海洋の生物地球化学的な状態を、既存のモデルを用いてシミュレーションするので、柔軟に推定することができる。
 (モデル生成部)
 図2を参照して、モデル生成部10を説明する。モデル生成部10における時間ステップは、変数n1で表現される。Nは、推定装置1が算出する時間ステップの最大値である。
 モデル生成部10は、入力データ記憶部30の各データを参照して、学習モデルデータ41を生成する。モデル生成部10は、計算部11、出力処理部15および学習部16の各機能と、出力データ18および学習データ19の各データを有する。
 入力データ記憶部30は、海洋物理初期値31、海洋物理モデルデータ32、OBM初期値33およびOBMデータ34を有する。
 海洋物理初期値31は、時間ステップn1=0における海洋物理値である。
 海洋物理モデルデータ32は、時間ステップn1>0かつn1<Nにおいて、処理対象の時間ステップにおける海洋物理値を算出するために用いられるモデルを特定するデータである。
 海洋物理モデルは、例えば、MITgcm(Massachusetts. Institute of Technology. General Circulation Model)、NEMO(Nucleus for European Modelling of the Ocean)、MICOM(Miami Isopycnal Cordinate Ocean Model)、 MPIOM(Max Planck Institute Ocean Model)、CSIRO(Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation)、 MOM6(Modular Ocean Model 6)などである。
 OBM初期値33は、時間ステップ=0におけるOBM値である。
 OBMデータ34は、時間ステップn1>0かつn1<Nにおいて、処理対象の時間ステップにおけるOBM値を算出するために用いられるモデルを特定するデータである。本開示においてOBMデータ34は、植物プランクトンの成長率を算出するモデルとして、例えば、式(1)に示す計算式を特定するデータを含む。
 OBMは、例えば、BLING、PlankTOM5、HAMOCC(Hamburg Model of the Ocean Carbon Cycle)、PISCES、REcom2(Regu- lated Ecosystem Model 2)、COBALTなどである。
 計算部11は、シミュレーションによって、各時間ステップにおけるOBM値を算出する。各時間ステップにおいて、海洋物理モデルデータ32が特定する海洋物理モデルから算出された海洋物理値と、OBMデータ34が特定するOBMを用いて、植物プランクトンの成長率を含む、OBM値を算出する。ここで、時間ステップ=0の場合、海洋物理モデルデータ32とOBMデータ34を参照する代わりに、海洋物理初期値31およびOBM初期値33を参照する。
 計算部11は、海洋物理計算部12、結合部13およびOBM計算部14を備える。
 海洋物理計算部12は、算出対象の時間ステップにおいて、海洋物理モデルデータ32が特定する海洋物理モデルから海洋物理値を算出する。結合部13は、各海洋物理モデルから算出された海洋物理値を統合して、その時間ステップにおける海洋状態を特定する。
 OBM計算部14は、算出対象の時間ステップについて、結合部13が特定した海洋状態と、OBMデータ34が特定するOBMを用いて、OBM値を算出する。ここでOBM値は、植物プランクトンの成長率のデータを含む。OBM計算部14は、例えば、式(1)を用いて、算出対象の時間ステップについて、その時間ステップの海洋状態のパラメータから、植物プランクトンの成長率を算出する。
 OBM計算部14は、算出対象の時間ステップについて、海洋物理計算部12が算出した海洋物理値と、OBM計算部14が算出したOBM値を対応づけたレコードを、出力データ18に挿入する。
 計算部11は、時間ステップn1=0からn1<nまで、時間ステップn1をインクリメントしながら、海洋物理計算部12、結合部13、およびOBM計算部14の各処理を繰り返す。計算部11は、各時間ステップについて、海洋物理計算部12が算出した海洋物理値と、OBM計算部14が算出したOBM値を対応づけた出力データ18を生成する。
 出力処理部15は、出力データ18から、学習部16における学習の教師データとなる学習データ19を生成する。
 学習部16は、各時間ステップにおける海洋物理値とOBM値との関係から、各時間ステップにおける植物プランクトンの成長率を推定する学習モデルを学習する。本開示において学習部16は、学習データ19を参照して、式(2)に示す入力データから式(3)に示す出力データを推定するための学習モデルを学習する。学習部16は、学習した学習モデルを特定する学習モデルデータ41を出力する。
 学習部16は、一般的な深層学習アルゴリズムを用いる。学習部は、例えば、畳み込みニューラルネットワーク、リカレントニューラルネットーワークなどを用いる。
 推定装置1は、海洋微生物の種別毎に、成長率を推定しても良い。推定装置1は、例えば、海洋微生物を、小さい植物プランクトンと、大きい植物プランクトンに区分して、それぞれについて、成長率を算出する。モデル生成部10のOBM計算部14は、海洋微生物の種別毎の成長率を含む、OBM値を算出し、学習部16は、海洋微生物の種別毎の成長率を推定する学習モデルを学習する。
 本開示において、モデル生成部10が生成する学習データ19の一例を説明する。学習データ19は、学習時の入力データと出力データを対応づけるデータである。式(2)は、学習時の入力データである。式(3)は、学習時の出力データである。なお、Tはテンソルを示す。
 本開示において、推定部20は、モデル生成部10よりも解像度を落として、成長率を推定する。従って、計算部11によって得られる値は、推定部20による推定の解像度よりも、高解像度シミュレーションによって算出されるので、式(2)の各パラメータに、添え字Hが付される。なお、後述の説明において、推定部20で算出される低解像度の値は、添え字Lを付す。
 式(2)および(3)に示す学習データによって、モデル生成部10が生成する学習モデルは、植物プランクトンの種別毎に成長率を推定可能で、大きい植物プランクトンと小さい植物プランクトンの成長率を推定する。
 この場合、海洋物理初期値31および海洋物理モデルデータ32は、海水温に関するデータを含む。OBM初期値33およびOBMデータ34は、少なくとも、栄養塩の濃度に関するデータと、プランクトンの成長率のデータを含む。ここで栄養塩は、NO3、PO4およびFeである。成長率のデータは、小さいプランクトンの成長率と、大きいプランクトンの成長率である。式(2)および式(3)は、プランクトンの大きさ毎の成長率を設定するが、大きさに限らず、属性など他の種別毎に成長率を設定しても良い。
 本開示に係るモデル生成部10は、一般的なモデルを用いて、海洋状態をシミュレーションし、シミュレーションされた海洋状態における、海洋生物地球化学モデルの値を算出する。モデル生成部10は、観測データよりも高解像度で、各値を算出する。モデル生成部10が生成する学習モデルは、植物プランクトンをより正確に推定することを可能にする。
 (推定部)
 図3を参照して、推定部20を説明する。推定部20における時間ステップは、変数n2で表現される。Nは、推定装置1が算出する時間ステップの最大値である。
 推定部20は、入力データ記憶部30の各データと、モデル生成部10が生成した学習モデルデータ41を参照して、推定データ28を生成する。推定部20は、計算部21、出力処理部15および学習部16の各機能と、出力データ18および学習データ19の各データを有する。
 入力データ記憶部30は、海洋物理初期値31、海洋物理モデルデータ32、OBM初期値33およびOBMデータ34’を有する。入力データ記憶部30の各データは、図2を参照して説明した各データと同様である。但し、OBMデータ34’は、図2に示すOBMデータ34と異なり、植物プランクトンの成長率を推定するモデルを含まない点が異なる。推定部20は、植物プランクトンの成長率を推定する際、モデル生成部10が生成した学習モデルデータ41を参照する。
 推定データ28は、各時間ステップにおける植物プランクトンの成長率を含むデータである。
 計算部21は、各時間ステップにおいて、海洋物理モデルデータ32が特定する海洋物理モデルから算出された海洋物理値と、OBMデータ34が特定するOBMを用いて、植物プランクトンの成長率以外のOBM値を算出する。計算部21は、学習モデルデータ41が特定する学習モデルを用いて、海洋物理値と植物プランクトンの成長率以外のOBM値から、植物プランクトンの成長率を推定する。ここで、時間ステップ=0の場合、海洋物理モデルデータ32、OBMデータ34’および学習モデルデータ41を参照する代わりに、海洋物理初期値31およびOBM初期値33を参照する。
 計算部21は、海洋物理計算部22、結合部23およびOBM計算部24を備える。
 海洋物理計算部22および結合部23は、図2を参照して説明した海洋物理計算部12および結合部13と同様である。海洋物理計算部22および結合部23は、算出対象の時間ステップにおける海洋状態を特定する。
 OBM計算部24は、算出対象の時間ステップについて、海洋状態とOBMを用いて、植物プランクトンの成長率以外のOBM値を算出する。OBM計算部24はさらに、モデル生成部10が生成した学習モデルを用いて、算出対象の時間ステップについて、海洋物理値と植物プランクトンの成長率以外のOBM値から、植物プランクトンの成長率を推定する。
 OBM計算部14は、算出対象の時間ステップについて、海洋物理計算部12が算出した海洋物理値と、OBM計算部14が算出したOBM値を対応づけたレコードを、出力データ18に挿入する。
 計算部21は、時間ステップn1=0からn1<nまで、時間ステップをインクリメントしながら、海洋物理計算部22、結合部23、およびOBM計算部24の各処理を繰り返す。計算部21は、各時間ステップと、その時間ステップにおける植物プランクトンの成長率を対応づけた推定データ28を生成する。
 出力処理部25は、推定データ28を出力する。
 推定部20は、モデル生成部10に比べて低解像度で、推定データ28を出力しても良い。例えば、OBM計算部24は、各時間ステップにおいて、植物プランクトンの成長率以外のOBM値を算出した後、算出された植物プランクトンの成長率以外のOBM値から、低解像度のOBM値を算出する。OBM計算部24は、算出された植物プランクトンの成長率以外の高解像度のBM値を解析して、低解像度の植物プランクトンの成長率以外のOBM値を算出する。低解像度の値を算出する方法は、任意の方法で良い。OBM計算部24はさらに、学習モデルを用いて、海洋物理値と、植物プランクトンの成長率以外の低解像度のOBM値から、プランクトンの成長率を推定する。
 ここで、植物プランクトンの成長率以外の低解像度のOBM値は、例えば、式(4)で表現される。
 OBM計算部24は、式(4)に示す値を、学習モデルに入力することにより、式(5)に示す値を出力する。
 これにより推定部20は、処理負担を軽減して、時間依存の植物プランクトンの成長率を算出することができる。時間依存の植物プランクトンの成長率は、例えば、植物プランクトンの一次生産および炭素固定量の算出などに用いられる。
 推定装置1は、海洋微生物の種別毎に、成長率を推定する場合、モデル生成部10は、海洋微生物の種別毎の成長率を推定する学習モデルを学習する。この場合、OBM計算部24は、海洋微生物の種別毎の成長率を推定する学習モデルを用いて、海洋物理値と海洋微生物の種別毎の成長率以外のOBM値から、海洋微生物の種別毎の成長率を推定する。推定装置1は、例えば、海洋微生物を、小さい植物プランクトンと、大きい植物プランクトンに区分して、それぞれについて、成長率を算出することができる。
 (推定方法)
 図4を参照して、本開示に係る推定方法を説明する。図4に示す処理のうち、ステップS11-ステップS15は、モデル生成部10の処理に対応する。ステップS21-ステップS27は、推定部20の処理に対応する。
 ステップS11において推定装置1は、時間ステップn1を初期化する。
 ステップS12において推定装置1は、時間ステップn1について、海洋物理値を算出する。ステップS13において推定装置1は、時間ステップn1について、海洋物理値を算出する。
 ステップS14において推定装置1は、時間ステップn1と終了条件を比較する。時間ステップn1が終了条件を満たさない場合、ステップS16に進む。ステップS16において推定装置1は、時間ステップn1をインクリメントして、ステップS12およびステップS13の処理を繰り返す。
 時間ステップn1が終了条件を満たす場合、ステップS15に進む。ステップS15において推定装置1は、植物プランクトンの成長率を推定する学習モデルを生成する。
 ステップS21において推定装置1は、時間ステップn2を初期化する。
 ステップS22において推定装置1は、時間ステップn2について、海洋物理値を算出する。ステップS23において推定装置1は、OBMを参照して、植物プランクトンの成長率以外の海洋物理値を算出する。ステップS24において推定装置1は、ステップS15で生成した学習モデルを参照して、植物プランクトンの成長率を推定する。
 ステップS25において推定装置1は、時間ステップn2と終了条件を比較する。時間ステップn2が終了条件を満たさない場合、ステップS26に進む。ステップS26において推定装置1は、時間ステップn2をインクリメントして、ステップS22-ステップS24の処理を繰り返す。
 時間ステップn2が終了条件を満たす場合、ステップS27に進む。ステップS27において推定装置1は、各時間ステップの植物プランクトンの成長率を出力する。
 このような本開示に係る推定装置1は、海洋微生物の速い進化速度を考慮して、時間ステップ毎の植物プランクトンの成長率を出力することができる。推定装置1は、海洋微生物の進化による成長率を、より正確に推定することができる。
 上記説明した本実施形態の推定装置1は、例えば、CPU(Central Processing Unit、プロセッサ)901と、メモリ902と、ストレージ903(HDD:Hard Disk Drive、SSD:Solid State Drive)と、通信装置904と、入力装置905と、出力装置906とを備える汎用的なコンピュータシステムが用いられる。このコンピュータシステムにおいて、CPU901がメモリ902上にロードされたプログラムを実行することにより、推定装置1の各機能が実現される。
 なお、推定装置1は、1つのコンピュータで実装されてもよく、あるいは複数のコンピュータで実装されても良い。また推定装置1は、コンピュータに実装される仮想マシンであっても良い。
 推定装置1のプログラムは、HDD、SSD、USB(Universal Serial Bus)メモリ、CD (Compact Disc)、DVD (Digital Versatile Disc)などのコンピュータ読取り可能な記録媒体に記憶することも、ネットワークを介して配信することもできる。コンピュータ読取り可能な記録媒体は、例えば非一時的な(non-transitory)記録媒体である。
 なお、本開示は上記実施形態に限定されるものではなく、その要旨の範囲内で数々の変形が可能である。

Claims (4)

  1.  各時間ステップにおいて、海洋物理モデルから算出された海洋物理値とOBM(海洋生物地球化学モデル)を用いて、海洋微生物の成長率を含む、OBM値を算出し、
     前記各時間ステップにおける前記海洋物理値と前記OBM値との関係から、各時間ステップにおける前記海洋微生物の成長率を推定する学習モデルを学習するモデル生成部と、
     各時間ステップにおいて、前記海洋物理モデルから算出された海洋物理値とOBMを用いて、前記海洋微生物の成長率以外のOBM値を算出し、前記学習モデルを用いて、前記海洋物理値と前記海洋微生物の成長率以外のOBM値から、前記海洋微生物の成長率を推定する推定部
     を備える推定装置。
  2.  前記推定部は、前記各時間ステップにおいて、前記海洋微生物の成長率以外のOBM値を算出し、算出した値から、低解像度のOBM値を算出し、前記学習モデルを用いて、前記海洋物理値と前記低解像度のOBM値から、前記海洋微生物の成長率を推定する
     請求項1に記載の推定装置。
  3.  前記モデル生成部は、前記海洋微生物の種別毎の成長率を含む、OBM値を算出し、
    前記海洋微生物の種別毎の成長率を推定する他の学習モデルを学習し、
     前記推定部は、前記他の学習モデルを用いて、前記海洋物理値と前記海洋微生物の種別毎の成長率以外のOBM値から、前記海洋微生物の種別毎の成長率を推定する
     請求項1に記載の推定装置。
  4.  コンピュータが、
     各時間ステップにおいて、海洋物理モデルから算出された海洋物理値とOBM(海洋生物地球化学モデル)を用いて、海洋微生物の成長率を含む、OBM値を算出し、
     前記各時間ステップにおける前記海洋物理値と前記OBM値との関係から、各時間ステップにおける前記海洋微生物の成長率を推定する学習モデルを学習し、
     各時間ステップにおいて、前記海洋物理モデルから算出された海洋物理値とOBMを用いて、前記海洋微生物の成長率以外のOBM値を算出し、前記学習モデルを用いて、前記海洋物理値と前記海洋微生物の成長率以外のOBM値から、前記海洋微生物の成長率を推定する
     推定方法。
