 本発明は、巡回する運搬車両に対して作業する作業機械に関する。
 従来より、積込場と放土場との間を巡回する運搬車両(例えば、ダンプトラック)に対して、作業を行う作業機械(例えば、油圧ショベル、ホイールローダ)が知られている。また、このような現場で使用される作業機械において、作業機械の実燃費が目標燃費を下回るときに、その動作速度を低減させた省エネ運転に切り替える技術がある(例えば、特許文献1を参照)。

 しかしながら、特許文献1の方法では、作業機械の動作速度が低減されるため掘削や積込作業に時間を要し、省エネ運転する作業機械の前に順番待ちの運搬車両の列が生じる。その結果、作業現場全体の生産性が低下するという新たな課題を生じる。
 本発明は、上記した実状に鑑みてなされたものであり、その目的は、巡回する運搬車両に対して作業を行う作業機械において、作業現場の生産性の低下を抑制しつつ、作業機械の燃費を向上させる技術を提供することにある。
 上記目的を達成するために、本発明は、油圧アクチュエータによって動作する作業装置と、前記油圧アクチュエータに作動油を供給する容量可変型の油圧ポンプと、前記油圧ポンプのポンプ出力を制御するコントローラとを備え、積込場に停車する第1運搬車両、及び前記第1運搬車両よりも後に前記積込場に到着する第2運搬車両に対して順番に積込作業を行う作業機械において、前記コントローラは、前記第1運搬車両に対する作業時に、前記第2運搬車両が前記積込場に到着するまでの時間である予測到着時間を予測し、予め定められた目標到着時間に対して前記予測到着時間が遅い場合、前記ポンプ出力を低減するポンプ出力制御処理を実行することを特徴とする。
 本発明によれば、巡回するダンプトラックに対して作業を行う作業機械において、作業現場の生産性の低下を抑制しつつ、作業機械の燃費を向上させることができる。なお、上記した以外の課題、構成及び効果は、以下の実施形態の説明により明らかにされる。

 本発明に係るシステム100の実施形態について、図面を用いて説明する。図1は、本実施形態に係るシステム100の概略図である。図1に示すシステム100は、例えば鉱山のような作業現場において、積込場Aと放土場Bとの間を巡回(往復)する複数のダンプトラック101、102、103を備える。また、システム100は、積込場Aに停車したダンプトラック101の荷台に、土砂(積荷)を積載する油圧ショベル104を備える。さらに、システム100は、放土場Bでダンプトラック102が放土した土砂を、所定の位置まで運ぶホイールローダ105を備える。
 積込場A及び放土場Bは、ダンプトラック101~103の目的地の一例である。また、ダンプトラック101~103は、運搬車両の一例である。さらに、油圧ショベル104及びホイールローダ105は、ダンプトラック101~103に対して作業を行う作業機械の一例である。但し、目的地、運搬車両、及び作業機械の数及び種類は、図1の例に限定されない。
 図2は、油圧ショベル104の側面図である。図2に示すように、油圧ショベル104は、下部走行体2と、下部走行体2により支持された上部旋回体3とを備える。下部走行体2及び上部旋回体3は、車体の一例である。
 下部走行体2は、無限軌道帯である左右一対のクローラ4を備える。そして、走行モータ5の駆動により、左右一対のクローラ4が独立して回転する。その結果、油圧ショベル104が走行する。但し、下部走行体2は、クローラ4に代えて、装輪式であってもよい。
 上部旋回体3は、旋回モータ6によって旋回可能に下部走行体2に支持されている。すなわち、旋回モータ6が回転することによって、下部走行体2に対して上部旋回体3が旋回する。上部旋回体3は、ベースとなる旋回フレーム7と、旋回フレーム7の後部に配置されたカウンタウェイト9と、旋回フレーム7の前方中央に上下方向に回動可能に取り付けられたフロント作業機10と、旋回フレーム7の前方左側に配置されたキャブ(運転席)20とを主に備える。
 フロント作業機10は、上部旋回体3に起伏可能に支持されたブーム11と、ブーム11の先端に回動(クラウド、ダンプ)可能に支持されたアーム12と、アーム12の先端に回動(クラウド、ダンプ)可能に支持されたバケット13(アタッチメント)と、ブーム11を駆動させるブームシリンダ14と、アーム12を駆動させるアームシリンダ15と、バケット13を駆動させるバケットシリンダ16とを含む。なお、アタッチメントの具体例はバケット13に限定されず、グラップル、カッタ、破砕機、ブレーカ等でもよい。カウンタウェイト9は、フロント作業機10との重量バランスを取るためのもので、上面視円弧形状を成す重量物である。
 キャブ20は、左右方向(車体の幅方向)において、フロント作業機10に隣接して配置されている。より詳細には、キャブ20は、フロント作業機10の左方(左右方向の一方側)に配置されている。但し、キャブ20の配置は前述の例に限定されず、キャブ20は、左右方向におけるフロント作業機10の一方側に配置されていればよい。キャブ20の内部には、オペレータが着席するシートと、シートに着席したオペレータが操作する操作装置21(図4参照)と、後述するポンプ出力制御処理を実行するか否かを切り替える切替スイッチ22(図4参照)とが設置されている。
 操作装置21は、油圧ショベル104を動作させるためのオペレータの操作を受け付けて、受け付けた操作に対応する操作信号をコントローラ50(図4参照)に出力する。オペレータによって操作装置21が操作されることによって、下部走行体2が走行し、上部旋回体3が旋回し、フロント作業機10が動作する。なお、操作装置の具体例としては、レバー、ステアリングホイール、ペダル、スイッチ等が挙げられる。
 切替スイッチ22(切替操作装置)は、ポンプ出力制御処理(図5参照)を実行するか否かを切り替えるオペレータの操作を受け付けて、受け付けた操作に対応する切替信号をコントローラ50に出力する。切替スイッチ22は、ポンプ出力制御処理を実行することを示すON状態と、ポンプ出力制御処理を実行しないことを示すOFF状態とに切り替え可能に構成されている。但し、切替スイッチ22は、物理スイッチに限定されず、ディスプレイ上に表示されるアイコンの形式でもよい。
 下部走行体2、上部旋回体3、及びフロント作業機10は、油圧アクチュエータ(5、6、14~16)によって動作する作業装置の一例である。但し、作業装置の具体例は、前述の例に限定されない。すなわち、ホイールローダ105において、ステアリングシリンダ(油圧アクチュエータ)によって換向する車体、リフトアームシリンダ及びバケットシリンダ(油圧アクチュエータ)によって動作するフロント作業機は、作業装置の他の例である。
 図3は、油圧ショベル104の駆動回路を示す図である。図3に示すように、油圧ショベル104は、エンジン31と、作動油タンク32と、メインポンプ33(油圧ポンプ)と、パイロットポンプ34と、方向切替弁35、36、37、38と、パイロット制御弁40a、40b、41a、41b、42a、42b、43a、43bとを主に備える。
 エンジン31は、燃料(例えば、軽油、ガソリン)を消費して、油圧ショベル104を駆動するための駆動力を発生させる原動機である。作動油タンク32は、作動油を貯留する。メインポンプ33は、エンジン31の駆動力によって回転し、作動油タンク32に貯留された作動油を作動油供給流路L1に圧送する。メインポンプ33は、コントローラ50によってレギュレータ(図示省略)が制御されることによって、ポンプ容量を変更可能な容量可変型の油圧ポンプである。パイロットポンプ34は、エンジン31の動力によって回転し、作動油タンク32に貯留された作動油をパイロット圧油としてパイロット供給流路L3に圧送する。
 作動油供給流路L1は、作動油タンク32からメインポンプ33及び方向切替弁35~38を経由して、油圧アクチュエータ(6、14~16)に至る作動油の流路である。すなわち、作動油供給流路L1は、メインポンプ33によって圧送された作動油を、油圧アクチュエータ(6、14~16)に供給する。なお、図3では、走行モータ5の図示を省略している。
 また、油圧アクチュエータ(6、14~16)は、作動油還流流路L2を通じて作動油タンク32に接続されている。作動油還流流路L2は、油圧アクチュエータ(6、14~16)から方向切替弁35~38を経由して作動油タンク32に至る流路である。すなわち、作動油還流流路L2は、油圧アクチュエータ(6、14~16)から排出された作動油を、作動油タンク32に還流させる。
 パイロット供給流路L3は、作動油タンク32からパイロットポンプ34及びパイロット制御弁40a~43bを経由して、方向切替弁35~38のパイロットポート35a~38bに至るパイロット圧油の流路である。すなわち、パイロット供給流路L3は、パイロットポンプ34によって圧送されたパイロット圧油を、パイロットポート35a~38bに供給する。
 また、パイロットポート35a~38bは、パイロット還流流路L4を通じて作動油タンク32に接続されている。パイロット還流流路L4は、パイロットポート35a~38bからパイロット制御弁40a~43bを経由して作動油タンク32に至る流路である。すなわち、パイロット還流流路L4は、パイロットポート35a~38bから排出されたパイロット圧油を、作動油タンク32に還流させる。
 方向切替弁35~38は、作動油供給流路L1及び作動油還流流路L2上に配置されている。方向切替弁35~38は、作動油供給流路L1を通じて油圧アクチュエータ(6、14~16)に供給される作動油の供給量及び供給方向と、作動油還流流路L2を通じて油圧アクチュエータ(6、14~16)から排出される作動油の排出量とを制御する。
 より詳細には、方向切替弁35は旋回モータ6に対する作動油の給排を制御し、方向切替弁36はブームシリンダ14に対する作動油の給排を制御し、方向切替弁37はアームシリンダ15に対する作動油の給排を制御し、方向切替弁38はバケットシリンダ16に対する作動油の給排を制御する。
 パイロット制御弁40a~43bは、パイロット供給流路L3及びパイロット還流流路L4上に配置されている。パイロット制御弁40a~43bは、パイロット供給流路L3を通じてパイロットポート35a~38bに供給される作動油の供給量と、パイロット還流流路L4を通じてパイロットポート35a~38bから排出される作動油の排出量とを制御する。パイロット制御弁40a~43bは、コントローラ50の制御に従って供給量を制御する電磁切替弁である。
 なお、駆動回路の具体的な構成は、図3の例に限定されない。他の例として、パイロットポンプ34及びパイロット制御弁40a~43bを省略し、方向切替弁35~38を電磁切替弁としてもよい。そして、コントローラ50は、方向切替弁35~38に制御信号を出力して、スプールの位置を切り替えてもよい。
 図4は、油圧ショベル104の制御ブロック図である。図4に示すように、油圧ショベル104は、CPU51(Central Processing Unit)と、メモリ52とを有するコントローラ50を備える。メモリ52は、例えば、ROM(Read Only Memory)、RAM(Random Access Memory)、HDD(Hard Disk Drive)、またはこれらの組み合わせで構成される。コントローラ50は、メモリ52に格納されたプログラムコードをCPU51が読み出して実行することによって、後述する処理を実現する。
 但し、コントローラ50の具体的な構成はこれに限定されず、ASIC(Application Specific Integrated Circuit)、FPGA(Field-Programmable Gate Array)などのハードウェアによって実現されてもよい。
 また、油圧ショベル104は、圧力センサ53と、通信I/F(InterFace)54とを備える。圧力センサ53は、メインポンプ33から出力される(換言すれば、作動油供給流路L1を通過する)作動油の圧力(以下、「ポンプ圧力P」と表記する。)を検出し、検出したポンプ圧力Pを示す圧力信号をコントローラ50に出力する。通信I/F54は、通信ネットワーク(例えば、インターネット、移動体通信システム、Wi-Fi(登録商標))を介して、外部装置(例えば、ダンプトラック101~103、サーバ)との間でデータを送受信する通信インタフェースである。
 コントローラ50は、油圧ショベル104全体の動作を制御する。コントローラ50は、例えば、操作装置21から出力される操作信号に基づいて、エンジン31、メインポンプ33、及びパイロットポンプ34を回転させると共に、パイロット制御弁40a~43bを開閉(制御信号を出力)する。また、コントローラ50は、切替スイッチ22がON状態に切り替えられた場合に、圧力センサ53から出力される圧力信号、通信I/F54を通じてダンプトラック101~103から受信した情報に基づいて、図5に示すポンプ出力制御処理を実行する。
[ポンプ出力制御処理]
 図5は、ポンプ出力制御処理のフローチャートである。図6は、予測到着時間Teを算出するための概念図である。図7は、係数Kを決定するためのテーブルである。一例として、コントローラ50は、ダンプトラック101が積込場Aに到着したタイミングで、図5に示すポンプ出力制御処理を開始してもよい。他の例として、コントローラ50は、ダンプトラック102が放土場Bを出発したことを示す情報を通信I/F54を通じて受信したタイミングで、図5に示すポンプ出力制御処理を開始してもよい。
 図1に示す作業現場では、予め定められた運航スケジュールに従って、積込場Aと放土場Bとの間をダンプトラック101~103が巡回している。しかしながら、積込場A及び放土場Bへのダンプトラック101~103への到着が何らかの原因で遅れると、油圧ショベル104及びホイールローダ105に待ち時間が生じる。一方、ダンプトラック101~103は、走行速度を速めて到着時間の遅れを取り戻そうとする。但し、ダンプトラック101~103は作業現場で定められた制限速度を超えることができないので、積込場Aと放土場Bとの間を往復する過程で、徐々に到着時間の遅れを短縮することになる。
 そこで、油圧ショベル104は、ポンプ出力制御処理を実行することによって、ダンプトラック102の積込場Aへの到着の遅れの度合いに応じて、メインポンプ33のポンプ出力を制御することによって、ダンプトラック101への土砂の積込速度を調整する。これにより、油圧ショベル104の待ち時間が短縮されるので、作業現場の生産性の低下を抑制しっつ、油圧ショベル104の燃費を向上させる効果が期待できる。
 以下、積込場Aに停車したダンプトラック101に油圧ショベル104が土砂を積み込んでいるのと並行して、放土場Bを出発したダンプトラック102が積込場Aに向かって移動(走行)しているものとして、ポンプ出力制御処理を説明する。すなわち、積込場Aは目的地の一例であり、ダンプトラック101は積込場Aに停車する第1運搬車両の一例であり、ダンプトラック102はダンプトラック101よりも後に積込場Aに到着する第2運搬車両の一例であり、油圧ショベル104はダンプトラック101、102に対して順番に積込作業を行う作業機械の一例である。但し、ポンプ出力制御処理は、放土場Bを目的地とし、ダンプトラック103を第1運搬車両とし、ダンプトラック101を第2運搬車両とし、ホイールローダ105を作業機械として、ホイールローダ105のポンプ出力を制御することもできる。
 まず、コントローラ50は、ダンプトラック102の積込場Aへの遅延率Dを算出する(S11)。遅延率Dとは、目標到着時間Tgに対する予測到着時間Teの比率(=Te/Tg)である。図6に示すように、目標到着時間Tgは、ダンプトラック102が積込場Aに到着する目標到着時刻tgから現在時刻tcを減じた時間である。予測到着時間Teは、ダンプトラック102が積込場Aに到着するまでの時間である。予測到着時間Teは、積込場Aの積込位置Xgとダンプトラック102の現在地Xcとの間の残り距離Lを、ダンプトラック102の走行速度Vで除すことによって予測される。
 コントローラ50は、例えば、ダンプトラック102のGPS(Global Positioning System)で検出した現在地Xcと、ダンプトラック102の速度センサで検出した走行速度Vとを、通信I/F54を通じてダンプトラック102から(または、不図示の中継サーバを中継して)受信する。一方、積込位置Xg及び目標到着時刻tgは、コントローラ50に予め設定されていてもよいし、管理サーバなどから通信I/F54を通じて受信してもよい。
 次に、コントローラ50は、油圧ショベル104の動作に応じた係数K(0<K≦1)を決定する(S12)。油圧ショベル104の動作とは、例えば、地面を掘削する掘削動作、掘削した土砂をダンプトラック101の上方に移動させる積込動作、バケット13の土砂を荷台に放土する放土動作、放土したバケットを掘削位置に戻す戻り動作とを含む。油圧ショベル104の動作は、例えば図7に示すように、操作装置21の操作量によって特定することができる。
 油圧ショベル104の負荷(換言すれば、ポンプ圧力P)は、掘削動作>積込動作>放土動作>戻り動作となる。そして、係数Kは、油圧ショベル104の負荷(換言すれば、ポンプ圧力P)が高いほど、低い値に設定される。すなわち、K1<K2<K3<K4である。一例として、コントローラ50は、操作装置21から出力される操作信号によって特定される動作に応じて、係数Kを決定してもよい。他の例として、コントローラ50は、圧力センサ53から出力される圧力信号によって特定されるポンプ圧力に応じて、係数Kを決定してもよい。
 次に、コントローラ50は、ステップS11で算出した遅延率Dと、ステップS12で決定した係数Kとに基づいて、操作装置21の操作量に応じたポンプ出力E0を補正する(S13)。コントローラ50は、予め定められた特性線(例えば、ポンプ圧力とポンプ容量とが反比例する特性性)に従って、操作装置21の操作量に応じたポンプ容量C0を特定する。そして、コントローラ50は、圧力センサ53で検出したポンプ圧力Pと、操作装置21の操作量に応じたポンプ容量C0と、エンジン31の回転数N0とを下記式1に代入して、操作装置21の操作量に応じたポンプ出力E0を算出する。

 次に、コントローラ50は、ポンプ出力E0、遅延率D、係数Kを下記式2に代入して、補正後のポンプ出力E1を算出する。すなわち、コントローラ50は、メインポンプ33から油圧アクチュエータに供給される作動油の圧力が高いほど、ポンプ出力の低減量(E0-E1)を大きくする。また、コントローラは、目標到着時間Tgに対して予測到着時間Teが長いほど、ポンプ出力Eの低減量(E0-E1)を大きくする。

 そして、コントローラ50は、補正後のポンプ出力E1になるように、エンジン31の回転数N0及びメインポンプ33のポンプ容量C0の少なくとも一方を制御する。一方、コントローラ50は、切替スイッチ22がOFF状態のときに、補正前のポンプ出力E0となるように、エンジン31を回転数N0で回転させ、メインポンプ33をポンプ容量C0に調整する。
 一例として、コントローラ50は、エンジン31の回転数を、補正前の回転数N0から補正後の回転数N1(式3)に減少させてもよい。他の例として、コントローラ50は、メインポンプ33のポンプ容量を、補正前のポンプ容量C0から補正後のポンプ容量C1(式4)に減少させてもよい。さらに他の例として、コントローラ50は、補正後のポンプ出力E1になるように、エンジン31の回転数N0及びメインポンプ33のポンプ容量C0の両方を補正してもよい。

 さらに、コントローラ50は、操作装置21から出力される操作信号に従って、パイロット制御弁40a~43bを制御する。そのため、操作装置21が同一操作量だとすると、切替スイッチ22がON状態のときは、切替スイッチ22がOFF状態のときと比較して、油圧ショベル104の動作速度が遅くなる。さらに、油圧ショベル104の動作速度は、ポンプ圧力Pが大きい(すなわち、係数Kが小さい)ほど遅くなり、目標到着時間Tgに対して予測到着時間Teが長い(すなわち、遅延率Dが大きい)ほど遅くなる。
 なお、補正後のポンプ出力E1で油圧ショベル104を動作させると、キャブ20に搭乗するオペレータにとっては、操作装置21の操作量に対する油圧ショベル104の応答性(追従性)が低下したように感じる場合がある。そこで、コントローラ50は、補正後のポンプ出力E1で油圧ショベル104を動作させていることを、キャブ20に設けられた報知装置(例えば、ディスプレイ、LEDランプ)を通じてオペレータに報知してもよい。
 次に、コントローラ50は、ダンプトラック101の荷台に対する土砂の積み込みが終了するまで(S15:No)、ステップS12~S13の処理を繰り返し実行(すなわち、操作装置21の操作量の変化に追従して、ポンプ出力E0を補正)する。また、コントローラ50は、土砂の積み込みが終了するまでの間において、予め定められた更新期間が経過した場合に(S14:Yes)、ステップS11の処理(すなわち、遅延率Dの再算出)を実行する。
 換言すれば、コントローラ50は、更新期間が経過するまでの間(S14:No)、遅延率Dを固定し、操作装置21の操作量に応じて係数Kを更新して(S12)、ポンプ出力E0を補正する(S13)。また、コントローラ50は、更新期間が経過する度に(S14:Yes)、換言すればダンプトラック102が所定の距離を走行する度に、遅延率Dを更新する(S11)。さらに、コントローラ50は、ダンプトラック101に対する土砂の積み込みが終了するまで、遅延率Dの再計算(換言すれば、予測到着時間Teの予測)を繰り返し実行する。
[実施形態の作用効果]
 上記の実施形態によれば、ダンプトラック102の積込場Aへの到着の遅れが大きい(目標到着時間Tgに対して予測到着時間Teが遅い)場合に、メインポンプ33のポンプ出力を低減して、油圧ショベル104の作業速度を減速する。これにより、作業現場の生産性の低下を抑制しつつ、油圧ショベル104の燃費を向上させることができる。
 また、上記の実施形態によれば、ポンプ圧力Pの高い(換言すれば、燃料消費の大きい)作業ほど、ポンプ出力Eの低減量(E0-E1)を大きくするので、油圧ショベル104の燃費をさらに向上させることができる。但し、ステップS12の処理を省略して、遅延率Dのみに基づいてポンプ出力E0を補正してもよい。
 また、上記の実施形態によれば、ポンプ出力制御処理を実行するか否かを切り替える切替スイッチ22を設けることによって、燃費の向上か、操作装置21の操作に対する応答性の維持かを、キャブ20に搭乗したオペレータに選択させることができる。但し、切替スイッチ22を省略して、常にポンプ出力制御処理を実行してもよい。
 また、上記の実施形態によれば、更新期間が経過する度にステップS11を実行することによって、到着時間の遅れを取り戻そうとするダンプトラック102の最新の予測到着時間Teに基づいて、ポンプ出力E0を補正することができる。なお、更新期間は、固定の期間に限定されず、ダンプトラック102の走行速度Vが大きく変化したタイミング等の不定期でもよい。また、ステップS14の処理を省略して、任意のタイミングで1回だけ遅延率Dを算出してもよい。
 さらに、ポンプ出力制御処理を適用可能なのは、キャブ20に搭乗したオペレータが操作装置21を操作することによって動作する作業機械に限定されない。他の例として、ポンプ出力制御処理は、予め定められたスケジュールに従って自動運転される作業機械にも適用可能である。この場合のポンプ出力E0は、操作装置21の操作量に代えて、予め定められたスケジュールに基づいて、土砂の積み込みがダンプトラック101の積込場Aからの出発時刻に間に合うように定められる。
 上述した実施形態は、本発明の説明のための例示であり、本発明の範囲をそれらの実施形態にのみ限定する趣旨ではない。当業者は、本発明の要旨を逸脱することなしに、他の様々な態様で本発明を実施することができる。

  1.  油圧アクチュエータによって動作する作業装置と、
     前記油圧アクチュエータに作動油を供給する容量可変型の油圧ポンプと、
     前記油圧ポンプのポンプ出力を制御するコントローラと、
    を備え、
     積込場に停車する第1運搬車両、及び前記第1運搬車両よりも後に前記積込場に到着する第2運搬車両に対して順番に積込作業を行う
    作業機械において、
     前記コントローラは、
     前記第1運搬車両に対する作業時に、
     前記第2運搬車両が前記積込場に到着するまでの時間である予測到着時間を予測し、
     予め定められた目標到着時間に対して前記予測到着時間が遅い場合、前記ポンプ出力を低減するポンプ出力制御処理を実行する
    ことを特徴とする作業機械。

  7.  請求項1に記載の作業機械において、
     前記油圧ポンプを回転させる駆動力を発生させる原動機をさらに備え、
     前記コントローラは、
     前記油圧ポンプの容量及び前記原動機の回転数の少なくとも一方を減少させることによって、前記ポンプ出力を低減する
    ことを特徴とする作業機械。
