Description
본 개시는 멀티-뉴머롤로지를 지원하는 MIMO 시스템에서 선형 결합기를 포함하는 수신 장치 및 이의 동작 방법에 관한 것이다.

도 1은 일 실시 예에 따른 다중 입출력 안테나 통신 시스템의 구성도이다.
도 1은 무선 통신 시스템에서 무선 채널을 이용하는 노드(node)들의 일부로서, 기지국(110) 및 하나 이상의 UE(user equipment)들(120-1 내지 120-K)을 예시한다. 도 1은 하나의 기지국(110)만을 도시하나, 무선 통신 시스템은 기지국(110)과 동일 또는 유사한 다른 기지국을 더 포함할 수 있다.
기지국(110)은 하나 이상의 UE들(120-1 내지 120-K)에게 무선 접속을 제공하는 네트워크 인프라스트럭쳐(infrastructure)일 수 있다. 기지국(110)은 신호를 송신할 수 있는 거리에 기초하여 일정한 지리적 영역으로 정의되는 커버리지(coverage)를 가질 수 있다. 기지국(110)은 "액세스 포인트(AP: access point)", "이노드비(eNB: eNodeB)", "5G 노드(5th generation node)", "지노드비(gNB: next generation nodeB)", "무선 포인트(wireless point)", "송수신 포인트(TRP: transmission/reception point)" 또는 이와 동등한 기술적 의미를 가지는 다른 용어로 지칭될 수 있다.
UE들(120-1 내지 120-K) 각각은 사용자에 의해 사용되는 장치로서, 기지국(110)과 무선 채널을 통해 통신을 수행할 수 있다. 예를 들어, UE들(120-1 내지 120-K) 중 적어도 하나는 사용자의 관여 없이 운영될 수 있다. UE들(120-1 내지 120-K) 중 적어도 하나는 기계 타입 통신(machine type communication: MTC)을 수행하는 장치로서, 사용자에 의해 휴대되지 않을 수 있다. UE들(120-1 내지 120-K) 각각은 "단말(terminal)", "이동국(mobile station)", "가입자국(subscriber station)", "원격 단말(remote terminal)", "무선 단말(wireless terminal)", 또는 "사용자 장치(user device)" 또는 이와 동등한 기술적 의미를 가지는 다른 용어로 지칭될 수 있다. 도 1에서, UE들(120-1 내지 120-K)은 하나의 안테나를 포함하는 것으로 도시되었으나, UE들(120-1 내지 120-K) 각각이 포함하는 안테나의 개수는 하나로 한정되지 않는다.
기지국(110)은 복수의 안테나들을 통해 UE들(120-1 내지 120-K)로부터 상향 링크(UL: uplink) 신호들을 수신할 수 있다. 예를 들어, 기지국(110)은 복수의 안테나들을 통해 UE(120-1)의 송신 신호를 수신할 수 있고, 복수의 안테나들을 통해 UE(120-K)의 송신 신호를 수신할 수 있다.
무선 통신 시스템 내의 자원을 효율적으로 사용하면서 송신되는 신호들 간의 간섭을 감소시키기 위해 직교주파수분할(OFDM: orthogonal frequency division multiplexing) 방식이 채용될 수 있다.
5G NR(new radio)에서 지원하는 OFDM 구조는 뉴머롤로지(numerology)로 지칭될 수 있다. 특정 뉴머롤로지는 서브 캐리어(SC: subcarrier)의 서브 캐리어 간격(SCS: subcarrier spacing) 및 순환 전치(CP: cyclic prefix)에 의해 특정될 수 있다. 예를 들어, 제1 SCS 및 제1 CP를 갖는 뉴머롤로지는 제1 뉴머롤로지로 정의될 수 있고, 제2 SCS 및 제2 CP를 갖는 뉴머롤로지는 제2 뉴머롤로지로 정의될 수 있다.
복수의 뉴머롤로지들을 동시에 지원하는 시스템은 멀티-뉴머롤로지 시스템 또는 믹스-뉴머롤로지 시스템으로 지칭될 수 있다. 멀티-뉴머롤로지 시스템의 종류는 시간 또는 주파수 영역에서 이용되는 자원의 중첩(overlap) 여부에 따라서 달라질 수 있다.
도 2a 내지 2c는 일 실시 예에 따른 멀티-뉴머롤로지 시스템의 종류들에 따른 주파수 영역에서 이용되는 자원을 도시한다.
도 2a는 서로 다른 뉴머롤로지들에게 겹치지 않게 주파수 자원을 할당하는 비-중첩(non-overlapping) 방식을 도시한다. 도 2b는 가드 밴드를 할당하는 비-중첩 방식을 도시한다. 도 2c는 무선 통신 시스템이 지원하는 모든 뉴머롤로지들이 시간 및 주파수 영역을 공유하는 방식을 도시한다.
비-중첩 방식은 무선 통신 시스템이 이용하는 전체 시스템 대역폭을 서브-밴드(sub-band) 단위로 나누어 각 서브-밴드를 사용자들 또는 각 뉴머롤로지에게 할당하는 방식일 수 있다.
도 2a 내지 도 2c에 도시된 예에서, 각 개별 박스(box)는 하나의 SC를 나타낼 수 있다.
도 2a에 도시된 예에서, 의 SCS는 의 SCS의 절반일 수 있다. 을 이용하는 사용자들에 대한 주파수 대역(211) 및 를 이용하는 사용자들에 대한 주파수 대역(212)은 중첩되지 않을 수 있다.
주파수 영역에서 뉴머롤로지 별로 서브-밴드를 할당함으로써 주파수 영역에서 서로 다른 뉴머롤로지들의 신호들이 공존하지 않는 경우에도, 대역 외 방사(OOBE: out-of-band emission)에 의한 뉴머롤로지들 간의 간섭이 존재할 수 있다.
도 2b의 가드 밴드를 할당하는 비-중첩 방식은 도 2a의 비-중첩 방식을 수정한 방식일 수 있다. 도 2b에 도시된 예에서, 이 이용하는 주파수 대역(221) 및 가 이용하는 주파수 대역(222)의 사이에 가드 밴드(223)가 할당됨으로써 OOBE에 의한 간섭이 감소될 수 있다.
스펙트럼 공유(SS: spectrum sharing) 멀티-뉴머롤로지 시스템은 무선 통신 시스템이 지원하는 뉴머롤로지들 중 적어도 일부의 자원이 시간 영역 및 주파수 영역에서 모두 중첩되는 방식일 수 있다. 일례로, SS 멀티-뉴머롤로지 시스템은 무선 통신 시스템이 지원하는 모든 뉴머롤로지들의 자원이 시간 영역 및 주파수 영역에서 모두 중첩되는 방식일 수 있다. SS 멀티-뉴머롤로지 시스템은 단일 뉴머롤로지만 지원하는 무선 통신 시스템에 비하여 다양한 종류의 간섭이 존재할 수 있다. 또한, SS 멀티-뉴머롤로지 시스템은 시스템이 허용하는 시간 영역 및 주파수 영역의 자원을 모두 활용하기 때문에 서브-밴드 기반의 멀티-뉴머롤로지 시스템보다 더 복잡한 간섭이 존재할 수 있다.
SS 멀티-뉴머롤로지 시스템에서 뉴머롤로지들 각각이 다른 뉴머롤로지들과 주파수 영역이 겹치지 않도록 일부의 SC에만 정보를 싣는(carry) 경우, SS 멀티-뉴머롤로지 시스템은 서브-밴드 기반의 멀티-뉴머롤로지 시스템이 될 수 있다. 이에 따라, SS 멀티-뉴머롤로지 시스템에 대한 개념은 멀티-뉴머롤로지 시스템의 전체를 포괄할 수 있는 개념일 수 있다.
멀티-뉴머롤로지 시스템에서 간섭 종류는 인트라(intra)-NI(numerology interference)와 인터(inter)-NI로 나눠질 수 있다. Intra-NI는 동일한 뉴머롤로지를 사용하는 사용자들 사이의 간섭으로, 기존의 단일 뉴머롤로지 시스템에서의 MUI(multi-user interference)와 동일한 형태를 가질 수 있다. Inter-NI는 서로 다른 뉴머롤로지들 사이의 간섭으로 기존의 단일 뉴머롤로지 시스템에서는 존재하지 않는 간섭일 수 있다. 멀티-뉴머롤로지 시스템에서 intra-NI와 inter-NI를 모두 포괄하여 INI라 지칭될 수 있다.
일 실시 예에 따르면, 기지국(110)은 최소한의 공간 자원을 이용하면서 원하는(desired) 뉴머롤로지 및 다른 뉴머롤로지 사이의 inter-NI를 제거(또는 완화)하기 위해 다른 뉴머롤로지를 사용하는 사용자와 기지국(110) 사이의 채널 정보 중 일부를 선택할 수 있다. 기지국(110)는 선형 결합기(예: ZF(zero forcing) 결합기 또는 LMMSE 결합기)를 이용하여 inter-NI 뿐 아니라 intra-NI를 제거(또는 완화)함으로써 desired 사용자의 데이터를 보다 정확히 복원(또는 획득)할 수 있다.
도 3은 일 실시 예에 따른 무선 통신 시스템에서 기지국의 구성을 설명하는 블록도이다.
도 3에 예시된 기지국(300)의 구성은 도 1을 참조하여 전술된 기지국(110)의 구성으로서 이해될 수 있다. 이하 사용되는 "~부", "~기" 등의 용어는 적어도 하나의 기능이나 동작을 처리하는 단위를 의미하며, 이는 하드웨어나 소프트웨어, 또는, 하드웨어 및 소프트웨어의 결합으로 구현될 수 있다.
기지국(300)은 무선통신부(310), 백홀통신부(320), 저장부(330), 및 제어부(340)를 포함할 수 있다. 기지국(300)은 UE들(예: 도 1의 UE들(120-1 내지 120-K))과 통신할 수 있다.
무선통신부(310)는 무선 채널을 통해 신호를 송수신하기 위한 동작들을 수행할 수 있다. 무선통신부(310)는 시스템의 물리 계층 규격에 따라 기저대역 신호 및 비트열 간 변환 동작을 수행할 수 있다. 예를 들어, 데이터 송신 시, 무선통신부(310)는 송신 비트열을 부호화 및 변조함으로써 복소 심볼들을 생성할 수 있다. 데이터 수신시, 무선통신부(310)는 기저대역 신호를 복조 및 복호화를 통해 수신 비트열을 복원할 수 있다.
무선통신부(310)는 기저대역 신호를 RF(radio frequency) 대역 신호로 상향 변환(up converting)한 후 안테나들을 통해 송신할 수 있다. 무선통신부(310)는 안테나들을 통해 수신되는 RF 대역 신호를 기저대역 신호로 하향 변환(down converting)할 수 있다. 이를 위해, 무선통신부(310)는 송신 필터, 수신 필터, 증폭기, 믹서(mixer), 오실레이터(oscillator), DAC(digital to analog convertor), ADC(analog to digital convertor) 등을 포함할 수 있다. 무선통신부(310)는 다수의 송수신 경로(path)들을 포함할 수 있다.
무선통신부(310)는 다수의 안테나 요소들(antenna elements)로 구성된 적어도 하나의 안테나 어레이(antenna array)를 포함하는 통신 모듈(또는, 패키지형 모듈)을 포함할 수 있다. 예를 들어, 통신 모듈은 FPGA(Field Programmable Gate Array)를 더 포함할 수 있다. FPGA는 설계 가능 논리 소자와 프로그래밍 가능한 내부선이 포함된 반도체 소자일 수 있다. 가능 논리 소자는 AND, OR, XOR, NOT 등의 논리 게이트 및 더 복잡한 디코더 기능을 복제하여 프로그래밍 할 수 있다. FPGA는 플립플롭(flip-flop)이나 메모리를 더 포함할 수 있다.
무선통신부(310)는 하드웨어의 측면에서, 디지털 유닛(digital unit) 및 아날로그 유닛(analog unit)으로 구성될 수 있으며, 아날로그 유닛은 동작 전력, 동작 주파수 등에 따라 다수의 서브 유닛(sub-unit)들로 구성될 수 있다. 디지털 유닛은 적어도 하나의 프로세서(예: DSP(digital signal processor))로 구현될 수 있다.
무선통신부(310)는 전술한 바와 같이 신호를 송신 및 수신할 수 있다. 이에 따라, 무선통신부(310)의 전부 또는 일부는 "송신기(transmitter)", "수신기(receiver)" 또는 "송수신기(transceiver)"로 지칭될 수 있다. 또한, 이하 설명에서, 무선 채널을 통해 수행되는 송신 및 수신은 무선통신부(310)에 의해 상술한 바와 같은 처리가 수행되는 것을 포함하는 의미로 사용된다.
백홀통신부(320)는 네트워크 내 다른 노드들과 통신을 수행하기 위한 인터페이스를 제공할 수 있다. 예를 들어, 백홀통신부(320)는 기지국(110)에서 다른 노드(예: 다른 접속 노드, 다른 기지국, 상위 노드, 코어망 등)으로 송신되는 비트열을 물리적 신호로 변환하고, 다른 노드로부터 수신되는 물리적 신호를 비트열로 변환할 수 있다.
저장부(330)는 기지국(110)의 동작을 위한 기본 프로그램, 응용 프로그램, 설정 정보 등의 데이터를 저장할 수 있다. 저장부(330)는 휘발성 메모리, 비휘발성 메모리 또는 휘발성 메모리와 비휘발성 메모리의 조합으로 구성될 수 있다. 저장부(330)는 제어부(340)의 요청에 따라 저장된 데이터를 제공할 수 있다.

뉴머롤로지 별로 SC 수가 상이하기 때문에 뉴머롤로지에 따라 OFDM 심볼의 주기가 다를 수 있다. 뉴머롤로지 별로 SC 수가 상이하더라도, 뉴머롤로지의 SC 수는 모두 2의 거듭제곱(exponentiation)의 형태이기 때문에 SCS가 가장 좁은 뉴머롤로지의 OFDM 심볼의 주기를 이용하면, 모든 뉴머롤로지들의 OFDM 심볼들이 동기화될 수 있다. SCS가 가장 좁은 뉴머롤로지(예: 의 뉴머롤로지)의 OFDM 심볼의 주기는 LCM 심볼 구간()이라 지칭될 수 있다.

Claims (15)
- 수신 장치(1300)에 있어서,복수의 안테나들(1310);상기 안테나들(1310)을 통해 송신 장치들로부터 송신 신호들을 수신하고, 상기 수신된 송신 신호들을 처리하여 디지털 신호들을 획득하는 RF(radio frequency) 통신 회로(1320); 및상기 획득된 디지털 신호들 각각을 처리하여 주파수 영역 신호들을 생성하고, 복수의 뉴머롤로지(numerology)들 중 제1 뉴머롤로지의 서브 캐리어들의 인덱스를 기초로 상기 생성된 주파수 영역 신호들을 배열하며, 상기 수신 장치 및 제2 뉴머롤로지를 사용하는 제2 송신 장치 사이의 채널들 중에서 일부를 선택하고, 상기 서브 캐리어들 각각에 대해, 제1 채널 행렬 및 제2 채널 행렬을 이용하여 유효 채널 행렬을 결정하고, 상기 결정된 각 유효 채널 행렬을 기초로 상기 배열된 주파수 영역 신호들 각각에 선형 결합을 수행하여 제1 송신 장치의 데이터 스트림들을 검출하는 프로세서(1330)를 포함하고,상기 제1 채널 행렬은 상기 선택된 채널을 포함하고, 상기 제2 채널 행렬은 상기 제1 뉴머롤로지를 이용하는 다른 송신 장치와 상기 수신 장치 사이의 채널을 표현하는 채널 벡터를 포함하는,수신 장치.
- 제1항에 있어서,상기 프로세서는,상기 수신 장치 및 상기 제2 송신 장치 사이의 상기 채널들을 상기 뉴머롤로지들 중 최소 인덱스를 갖는 뉴머롤로지의 서브 캐리어들의 관점(view)에서 바라본 채널 행렬을 결정하고, 상기 결정된 채널 행렬에 선택 행렬을 적용하여 상기 일부를 선택하는,수신 장치.
