- the mobile Internet is an open system. Users can download and install various types of application programs on the electronic device through the application program of the application market (or called the application store).
- the general application market can only provide The local device installs different applications, and there is no way to install applications across devices. For example, at present, when a user searches for the "XX Video" application on a mobile phone, the application market server will send the mobile phone the corresponding information about the model of the mobile phone.
- the current application market servers commonly used in the industry send independent applications to local devices.
- the application market server can only send the exe file corresponding to the application program to the local device.
- the application market server can also simulate the device (for example with system's PC emulator) to send the APK file corresponding to the application.
- sending an application program may mean that the application market server sends an installation package and/download link of an application program (Application, APP) that can run on the electronic device to the application program in the application market on the electronic device , further, the electronic device can download and install the corresponding application program through the application market.
- Application Application, APP
- FIGS. 1A-1F A typical application program installation scenario is introduced below with reference to FIGS. 1A-1F .
- the electronic device 100 can be a PC.
- Input "XX video” in the search box 111 in a user interface 110 of the market, at this time, two identical search results (such as the same icon and the same name) corresponding to "XX video" can be displayed on the user interface 110: search The result 112 and the search result 113, these two same search results are respectively used to represent the exe file corresponding to the "XX video” application program and the APK file corresponding to the "XX video” application program.
- the application corresponding to the exe file of the same content provider (Content Provider, CP) and the application corresponding to the APK file are two separate applications, and these two applications are not related, such as the " XX Video” application is not associated with the PC version of "XX Video” application.
- the search result 113 represents the APK file corresponding to the "XX Video” application, that is, the file is suitable for installing the mobile phone version of the "XX Video” application.
- the electronic device 200 can be a mobile phone. If the user wants to download and install the "XX Video” application program on the electronic device 200, the electronic device 100 can detect the user's operation (such as a click operation) on the installation option 114, and respond to this Operation, the electronic device 100 may display the window 120 as exemplarily shown in FIG. 1B .
- the window 120 may include a two-dimensional code 121 and a prompt 122, and the prompt 122 is used to remind the user to scan the two-dimensional code 121 through the electronic device 200 to download the "XX video" application.
- the electronic device 200 may detect the user's code scanning operation, and in response to the operation, the electronic device 200 may display the user interface 130 in the code scanning scene as exemplarily shown in FIG. 1C .
- the electronic device 200 can display a window 140 as shown in Figure 1D exemplarily, and the window 140 can include the APK file name (such as XX Video.apk) corresponding to the "XX Video” application, download options 141, etc.
- APK file name such as XX Video.apk
- the electronic device 200 may detect the user's operation on the download option 141 (such as a click operation), and in response to the operation, the electronic device 200 may download the APK file corresponding to the "XX video" application through the XX browser. After the download is successful, the electronic device 200 may display a window 150 as exemplarily shown in FIG. 1E .
- the window 150 may include an allow option 151, a prompt 152, etc., and the prompt 152 is used to prompt the user to download the APK file corresponding to the "XX video” application. If successful, the XX browser can be used to install the "XX Video" application.
- the electronic device 200 may detect the user's operation on the permission option 151 (for example, a click operation), and in response to the operation, the electronic device 200 may use the XX browser to install the "XX video" application. After the installation is successful, the electronic device 200 may display the user interface 160 as exemplarily shown in FIG. 1F , and the user interface 160 is used to prompt the user that the "XX video" application program is successfully installed.
- the permission option 151 for example, a click operation
- One way to solve the above-mentioned problem at present is that the user can download and install an application program on the local device first, and if the installation package of the application program includes an application program installation package corresponding to another electronic device, the When the device establishes a communication connection (such as a Bluetooth communication connection, etc.) with another electronic device, the local device can push the application program installation package to the other electronic device, thereby implementing cross-device application program installation.
- a communication connection such as a Bluetooth communication connection, etc.
- the local device needs to download and install the application program first, and then the application program can be installed across devices, and the user experience is poor.
- the embodiment of the present application provides an application program installation method, which can solve the problem that when a user uses an electronic device to search for an application program to be installed, the user may search for the same application program applicable to multiple different types of electronic devices (such as PCs, mobile phones, etc.).
- cross-device application installation can solve the problem that users need to perform a download and installation process on each device when they want to install the same application on multiple devices, simplify user operations, and improve user experience.
- Solution 1 (far-field solution): establish a remote communication connection based on the same account logged in between different electronic devices, so as to realize cross-device application installation.
- Solution 2 (near-field solution): establish a short-distance communication connection based on the mutual discovery between different nearby electronic devices, so as to realize cross-device application installation.
