Abstract
Light therapy device, that includes a hand-held shower head, that contains high power LED lamp of 20-5,000 watt, that gets its electrical power from a power supply, connoted to the mains voltage, and the LED lamp is placed inside a hand-held shower head, and a transparent plate with holes, that delivers the light and the water from the lamp to the user skin, and the flowing water cool the LED lamp and the skin.
Description
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
The invention relates to US classes 607/80, 607/88 and 607/91 applying light rays to the body, and international class A61N 5/06 radiation therapy using light.
Patent US20120283622 describes a phototherapy device, with a LED lamp, connected to a heatsink that is cooled by air using afan.
Patents 6021960 and W02005118967 A 1 describes alow power shower head with battery. The lamp and the battery are isolated from the water.
Patents US4564889 andUS20110216526A lUS4616298Adescribe alow power shower head with a generator that rotates by the water flow.
Patents EP1829581A1 and US7178746B2 describe a low power shower head with a power supply where there is the flowing water do not cool the LED lamp.
Patent KR20110134575A and CN 101612452B describe LED phototherapy lamp cooled by water, but the water does not cool the skin.
Patent KR100503594 is a shower head where the light comes from holes in the plate. While the light density at the hole is high, the total average intensity is low. The lamp or laser are small and they are operated by a small battery that is inside the shower head. The total power is much lower of the offered shower head.
BRIEF SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION The invention is a high-power light therapy device.
A device according to the invention is a shower head that includes high power LED lamp inside it. The water that flows in the shower head cools the LED lamp.
After than the water cools and wet the skin.
The use of water to cool the LED lamp, instead of air, eliminates the need of a heatsink and a fan. The use of water also cools the skin and keeps it wet and avoid damage from dryness and heat.
BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS Figure 1 describes the new invention.
Water 11 flows in a flexible water tube 12 into a shower head 13.
In the shower head 13 there are LED chips 15 that their back is glued to a metal plate 14.
The LED chips are electrically connected to a low voltage DC power supply 20 through electrical cable
The power supply 20 receives AC power of 120-240 volt from the mams voltage 21.
The water 11 flows near the eliminates metal plate 14 of the LED chips 15 and cools it. The water also passes through the holes of a transparent window 17.
The water 16 flows over the body of the user 18.
The light 22 emitted from the LED chips 15 passes through the transparent window 17 and falls on the skin of the person 18.
DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION The invention is a light therapy device.
The LED lamps can give any wavelength from UVC to infrared.
The light can be UVB for treating skin diseases, UVA for tanning purpose of for treating Vitiligo. The light can be around 400 nm for treating Psoriasis or Eczema and skin wrinkles and dark skin dots. The light can be red orinfrared.
The power can be 20-5000 watt.
The front side of the LED chips can be immersed in the water, or can be hermetically sealed.
The metal plate can have holes and the water will pass through these holes.
It is possible to use many low power LED chips without a metal plate.
There should be means to disable the electrical power when there is no water flow, or increase in the LED lamp temperature.
To isolate from AC line voltage, the power supply can include a rechargeable battery. So that the shower will get its power from the battery when the it will be in use.
The drawing shows that the water first cool the LED lamp and after that falls on the skin, but it is possible to make that part of the water will cool the LED lamp and part of the water will arrive to the skin.
Claims
