店舗内の各商品には、人の接触を検出するための通信デバイス7Aが取り付けられている。なお、以下の説明では、人の接触を検出した通信デバイスを「検出済みデバイス」と表記することがある。
無線タグ73Aは、例えばUHF帯(860~960MHz)で無線通信を行うように構成されたRFID用タグである。
接触検出部72が複数の独立した検出部を設けることは必須ではないが、複数の独立した検出部を設けることで開封検出を行うことができる。例えば、容器型の商品の場合にセンサ配置部70を蓋部に取り付けることで、蓋部が容器本体から取り外されたこと(つまり、開封)を検出できるように構成できる。
第3検出部72cと制御部71を接続する配線が断線することで、第3検出部72cは人の接触を検出することができなくなるが、第1検出部72a及び第2検出部72bは、制御部71との間で断線していないため、引き続き人の接触を検出することができる。
店舗内リーダ装置6は、対応する商品棚SHに配置されている各商品に取り付けられている通信デバイス7Aからの電波を受信し、通信デバイス7Aからの情報を取得する。
店舗内リーダ装置6は、対応する商品棚SHに配置されている通信デバイス7AのデバイスIDを記憶するメモリを有する。店舗内リーダ装置6は、対応する商品棚SHに配置されている通信デバイス7Aからの送信信号に基づいて、各通信デバイス7AのデバイスIDと、各通信デバイス7Aに対する人の接触の有無に関する情報とをエッジ装置4に通知する。
例えば、図3を参照すると、売り場の各商品棚SHに店舗内リーダ装置6が設置されていることに加え、レジゾーンRZに店舗内リーダ装置6が設置され、また、実質的に店舗の外である出入口ゾーンZ1,Z2に店舗内リーダ装置6が設置されている。
レジや出入口ゾーンに店舗内リーダ装置6を配置することで、当該店舗内リーダ装置6は、利用者がレジまで商品を持って行った場合や、購入して店舗の外に商品を持ち出す場合に、当該商品に取り付けられている通信デバイス7Aの送信信号を受信できるため、当該商品がレジ又は出入口にあることがわかる。当該商品の位置と利用者の位置情報とを関連付けることで、利用者の商品に関連した行動(例えば、商品を手に取った後、商品棚に戻したのか、あるいは、商品を手に取った後に購入したのか等)を把握できる。
ネットワークNWは限定しないが、例えばLAN(Local Area Network)、WAN(Wide Area Network)、インターネット等である。
一実施形態では、利用者端末2は、利用者アプリケーションを実行することで、例えばBLEタグとして機能するように構成される。このとき、利用者端末2が送信するビーコン信号には、利用者アプリケーション上で利用者を識別する利用者ID(利用者情報の一例)が含まれる。BLEは、Bluetooth Low Energyの略であり、省電力に対応したBluetooth(登録商標)の通信規格である。BLEタグとして機能する場合、利用者端末2は、BLEビーコン(以下、「ビーコン信号」という。)を発信する。
エッジ装置4は、受信機3が測定した入射角を基に、AOA(Angle of Arrival)方式により利用者端末2の店舗内の位置(平面上の位置)を特定する。なお、受信機3は、図2の場合と異なり、天井CEの裏側に設置してもよい。
アプリケーションサーバ5は、利用者の商品の使用状況に応じて、利用者アプリケーションに対して電子クーポンを提供してもよい。
利用者が自宅にいる場合であっても利用者端末2がアプリケーションサーバ5とネットワークNWを介して通信可能である点は、図1と同じである。本実施形態では、利用者Uの自宅に家庭内リーダ装置8が設けられる。家庭内リーダ装置8は、ネットワークNWを介してアプリケーションサーバ5と通信可能である。このような家庭内リーダ装置8は、購入した商品に対する利用者Uの使用状況を把握するために設けられており、店舗側から利用者に貸与してもよい。
次に、図5~図10を参照して、利用者行動把握システム1Aの各装置の構成を説明する。
図5及び図6は共に、本実施形態の利用者行動把握システム1Aに含まれる各装置のブロック図であるが、図5は、利用者行動把握システム1Aのうち図1に対応する部分であり、図6は、利用者行動把握システム1Aのうち図4に対応する部分である。
表示部23は、例えばLCD等の表示パネルと、表示パネルの駆動回路とを含み、制御部21によるプログラムの実行結果を表示する。
第2通信部25は、例えば図示しない移動体通信ネットワーク及び/又はネットワークNWを介してアプリケーションサーバ5と通信を行うための通信インタフェースである。
電波受信部31は、利用者端末2から送信されるビーコン信号(電波)を受信するアンテナを含む。
入射角測定部32は、電波受信部31で受信した利用者端末2からの電波の入射角を測定する。
通信部33は、利用者端末2およびエッジ装置4と通信を行うためのインタフェースである。例えば、通信部33は、利用者端末2からの受信信号を復調する。また、通信部33は、入射角測定部32によって測定された入射角の情報を、ビーコン信号に含まれるデバイスIDと対応付けてエッジ装置4に送信する。なお、受信機3とエッジ装置4との通信は有線でも無線でもよい。
制御部41は、マイクロプロセッサを主体として構成され、エッジ装置4の全体を制御する。
ストレージ42は、例えばHDD(Hard Disk Drive)の大規模記憶装置を備え、店舗マップと利用者位置データセット(利用者位置DS)を格納する。
通信部43は、例えば店舗内LANを介して受信機3及び店舗内リーダ装置6との間で通信を行う通信インタフェースと、ネットワークNWを介してアプリケーションサーバ5と通信を行う通信インタフェースと、を含む。
制御部41は、利用者IDごとに、測位を行った時刻(測位時刻)に対する利用者端末2の位置を示す位置データを逐次、ストレージ42の利用者位置データセットに記録する。利用者位置データセットのデータ構成例が図7に示される。
利用者IDとデバイスIDを対応付ける処理として、(I)接触による対応付け処理と、(II)購入による対応付け処理とがある。
接触による対応付け処理は、商品に対する人の接触を検出した検出済みデバイス7Aが店舗内に存在する場合に、検出済みデバイス7Aの近傍に位置する利用者端末2の利用者IDと、検出済みデバイス7AのデバイスIDとを対応付ける処理である。
例えば、制御部41は、店舗内の各店舗内リーダ装置6からの情報を基に、商品に対する人の接触を検出した通信デバイス7Aである検出済みデバイスが店舗内に存在するか否か判断する。制御部41は、検出済みデバイスが店舗内に存在する場合、利用者位置データセットを参照して、検出済みデバイスの近傍にいずれかの利用者IDの利用者端末2が位置するか否か判断する。
ここで、利用者端末2が検出済みデバイスに対してどの程度近い場合に「検出済みデバイスの近傍」と判断するかについては、例えば店舗内の隣り合う商品棚同士の距離等を考慮して誤検出がないように設定された所定値と、利用者端末2と検出済みデバイスの距離とを比較することで行うとよい。その場合、当該距離が所定値以下である場合に、利用者端末2が検出済みデバイスの近傍に位置すると判断する。複数の利用者端末2が検出済みデバイスの近傍に位置する場合には、上記距離が最も近い利用者端末2を特定するとよい。
検出済みデバイスの近傍に位置する利用者端末2の滞在時間に基づいて利用者端末2を特定してもよい。例えば、所定時間以上、商品棚の近くに位置(滞在)する利用者端末2を特定し、単に商品棚を通過しただけの消費者端末2を特定しないようにできる。
また、通信デバイス7Aによって商品に対する人の接触が検出された時刻から所定時間以上、商品棚の近くに滞在しているか等の検出時刻と滞在時間との関係等に基づき、利用者端末2を特定してもよい。
購入による対応付け処理は、利用者端末2と検出済みデバイスとが店舗の外に位置する場合、検出済みデバイスに取り付けられた商品を、利用者端末2を所持する利用者が購入したと判断し、利用者端末2の利用者IDと検出済みデバイスのデバイスIDとを対応付ける処理である。
例えば、出入口ゾーンZ1,Z2(図3参照)に配置されている店舗内リーダ装置6に検出済みデバイスが読み取られたのと同時刻に出入口ゾーンZ1,Z2に利用者端末2が位置し、その利用者端末2の利用者IDが特定できたことを条件として、当該利用者IDに対応する利用者が、検出済みデバイスが取り付けられている商品を購入したと判断する。その場合、当該利用者IDと検出済みデバイスのデバイスIDとを対応付ける。
(i)同一の利用者IDと同一のデバイスIDは、既に接触による対応付けがなされていること
(ii)レジゾーンRZ(図3参照)に配置されている店舗内リーダ装置6に同一の検出済みデバイスが読み取られたのと同時刻に、同一の利用者IDの利用者端末2がレジゾーンRZに位置していること
ストレージ52は、例えばHDDの大規模記憶装置を備え、図8~図10にそれぞれ例示する商品データベース(商品DB)、利用者プロファイルデータベース(利用者プロファイルDB)、及び、利用者行動データベース(利用者行動DB)を格納する。
通信部53は、エッジ装置4及び利用者端末2と通信を行うための通信インタフェースである。
図9に例示する利用者プロファイルデータベースは、1つのレコードについて、例えば「利用者ID」、「名前」、「性別」、「年齢」、「住所」、「職業等」の各フィールドの値を有するが、各フィールドは適宜、追加、変更、削除等が可能である。
被接触商品とは、利用者が接触した商品を意味する。エッジ装置4から受信する接触通知に含まれる利用者IDの利用者に対し、当該接触通知に含まれるデバイスIDの通信デバイス7Aが取り付けられた商品が被接触商品に相当する。商品データベースには、デバイスIDと商品コードとが対応付けられているため、利用者IDに対する被接触商品の商品コードが特定できる。
購入済み商品とは、利用者が購入した商品を意味する。エッジ装置4から受信する購入通知に含まれる利用者IDの利用者に対し、当該購入通知に含まれるデバイスIDの通信デバイス7Aが取り付けられた商品が購入済み商品に相当する。商品データベースには、デバイスIDと商品コードとが対応付けられているため、利用者IDに対する購入済み商品の商品コードが特定できる。
利用者行動データベースでは、「使用回数」のフィールドに代えて、あるいは「使用回数」のフィールドとともに「使用頻度」のフィールドを設けてもよい。
例えば、利用者端末2と検出済みデバイスとが利用者IDに対して予め対応付けられた場所に位置する場合、検出済みデバイスに取り付けられた商品を、利用者端末2を所持する利用者が購入したと判断し、利用者端末2の利用者IDと検出済みデバイスのデバイスIDとを対応付けてもよい。
「利用者IDに対して予め対応付けられた場所」は、例えば、利用者プロファイルデータベースに含まれる利用者の住所である。この場合、利用者端末2の利用者アプリケーションは、GPS受信機26において得られる位置情報を、例えば起動する度にアプリケーションサーバ5に送信する。アプリケーションサーバ5は、利用者アプリケーションから取得した利用者端末2の位置情報を基に、対応する利用者IDの住所に利用者端末2が位置するか否か判断する。
また、アプリケーションサーバ5は、使用通知を家庭内リーダ装置8から受信する場合、当該使用通知に含まれるデバイスIDの通信デバイス7Aが、当該使用通知に含まれる利用者IDに対応する住所に位置すると判断することができる。
次に、本実施形態の利用者行動把握システム1Aの動作について、図11~図13を参照して説明する。
図11は、店舗内で利用者が商品を手に取った場合と、当該商品を購入した場合とにおける利用者行動把握システム1Aの動作を示すシーケンスチャートである。図12は、アプリケーションサーバ5によって利用者が商品を購入したと判断する場合の、図11と異なるシーケンスチャートである。図13は、利用者が商品を購入した後の当該商品の使用状況を監視する場合の利用者行動把握システム1Aのシーケンスチャートである。
店舗内では、商品棚に対応する店舗内リーダ装置6は、当該商品棚に配置されている各商品に取り付けられている通信デバイス7Aからの送信信号に基づいて、各通信デバイス7AのデバイスIDと、各通信デバイス7Aに対する人の接触の有無に関する情報とを、逐次、エッジ装置4に通知する。
利用者が店舗で購入した商品と共に自宅に戻ると、利用者端末2の利用者アプリケーションは、利用者端末2がGPS受信機26から取得する利用者端末2の位置情報をアプリケーションサーバ5に送信する(ステップS20)。また、家庭内リーダ装置8は、購入した商品に取り付けられている通信デバイス7Aから読み取ったデバイスIDをアプリケーションサーバ5に送信する(ステップS22)。
前述したように、商品に取り付けられている通信デバイス7Aは、好ましくは開封検出機能を備えている。開封検出機能を備えることで、利用者が例えば商品のまとめ買いをした場合等、購入日と使用開始日が離れる状況が生ずる場合であっても、正確な使用開始日を特定することができる。図2に示した通信デバイス7Aでは、例えば商品の蓋部に配置された第3検出部72cからの信号を制御部71が受信できなくなった場合に商品の開封がなされたことがわかる。商品の開封が検出した場合、通信デバイス7Aから家庭内リーダ装置8への送信信号には、開封を検出したことを示す情報が含まれる。
利用者アプリケーションは、受信した電子クーポンを利用者端末2に表示させる(ステップS46)。なお、ステップS44で提供されるのは電子クーポンに限られず、例えば、新商品の発売に関する情報等であってもよい。
また、本実施形態の利用者行動把握システム1Aによれば、利用者の自宅に配置された家庭内リーダ装置が自宅内にある商品の通信デバイス7Aから、利用者による商品の使用開始タイミングや、商品の接触有無を検出し、逐次、アプリケーションサーバ5に通知する。そのため、家庭における利用者の商品の使用開始日時(使用開始タイミング)や商品の使用回数又は使用頻度(使用状況)を把握できる。つまり、特定の利用者による商品の使用実態を把握でき、有用なマーケティング情報を得ることができる。
従来、消費財メーカーは、消費財商品を販売する際に、最終消費者がどのような店舗で商品を購入し、購入した商品をどのように利用するかについて把握する手段を持っていない点が課題となっていたが、このような課題が利用者行動把握システム1Aによって解決される。
次に、第2の実施形態に係る利用者行動把握システム1Bについて説明する。なお、本実施形態の説明に際し、第1の実施形態の利用者行動把握システム1Aと共通する部分については、同一符号を付して重複説明を省略する。
先ず、本実施形態の利用者行動把握システム1Bのシステム構成について、図14~図16を参照して説明する。図14は、本実施形態の利用者行動把握システム1Aのシステム構成を概略的に示す図であり、図1と同様に、商品棚SHが配置された店舗内に利用者Uがいる場面が装置される。
通信デバイス7Bの構成は、図2に例示したものと同様のものでよいが、無線タグ73Aが不要であり、代わりにBLE通信を行うための通信部73Bが設けられる。
利用者が自宅にいる場合であっても利用者端末2がアプリケーションサーバ5とネットワークNWを介して通信可能である点は、図4と同じである。本実施形態では、利用者Uの自宅においても、商品に取り付けられた通信デバイス7Bが利用者端末2と無線通信を行うため、家庭内リーダ装置8(図4参照)が不要である。本実施形態では、アプリケーションサーバ5が情報処理装置の一例である。
図16に示すように、本実施形態では、利用者端末2の第2通信部25と、通信デバイス7Bの通信部73Bとの間で、例えばBLEによる無線通信が行われる。
また、利用者端末2の利用者アプリケーションは、GPS受信機26により得られる位置情報を基に、利用者端末2が店舗外に位置し、かつ通信デバイス7Bがペアリングされた状態である(つまり、通信が確立された状態である)場合、購入通知をアプリケーションサーバ5に送信する。
利用者端末2の利用者アプリケーションは、利用者端末2が自宅に位置する場合、人の接触を示す情報を通信デバイス7Bから受信した場合には、使用通知をアプリケーションサーバ5に送信する。第1の実施形態と同様に、接触通知、購入通知、開封通知(使用開始通知)、及び、使用通知には、それぞれ利用者IDとデバイスIDが含まれる。
次に、本実施形態の利用者行動把握システム1Bの動作について、図17~図19を参照して説明する。
図17は、店舗内で利用者が商品を手に取った場合と、当該商品を購入した場合とにおける利用者行動把握システム1Bの動作を示すシーケンスチャートである。図18は、アプリケーションサーバ5によって利用者が商品を購入したと判断する場合の、図17と異なるシーケンスチャートである。図19は、利用者が商品を購入した後の当該商品の使用状況を監視する場合の利用者行動把握システム1Bのシーケンスチャートである。
店舗内の利用者端末2の利用者アプリケーションは、店舗内の商品棚に配置されているいずれかの商品に取り付けられている通信デバイス7Bが人の接触を検出すると、当該通信デバイス7Bから、デバイスIDと、商品に対する人の接触を検出したことを示す情報とを受信する(ステップS50:YES)。
利用者端末2は、ステップS50で受信した通信デバイス7Bとペアリングを行い、通信を確立する(ステップS52)。利用者端末2の利用者アプリケーションは、利用者IDと、ステップS50で受信したデバイスIDとを含む接触通知をアプリケーションサーバ5に送信する(ステップS54)。なお、商品棚に複数の利用者がおり、各利用者がそれぞれ別々の商品を手に取っている場合、利用者アプリケーションは、複数の通信デバイス7BのデバイスIDに対応する複数の商品コードをアプリケーションサーバ5から取得し、複数の商品コードの中から利用者に自身が手に取った商品の商品コードを選択するように構成してもよい。それによって、複数の利用者の各利用者アプリケーションにおいて、利用者IDとデバイスIDとを対応付けることができる。
アプリケーションサーバ5は、商品棚に複数の利用者がいる場合、利用者端末2が通信デバイス7BからデバイスIDと、商品に対する人の接触を検出したことを示す情報とを受信した回数や頻度、あるいは、利用者端末2と通信デバイス7Bの間の通信確立の状態等に基づき、利用者IDとデバイスIDとを対応付けてもよい。
利用者が店舗で購入した商品と共に自宅に戻ると、利用者端末2の利用者アプリケーションは、利用者端末2がGPS受信機26から取得する利用者端末2の位置情報をアプリケーションサーバ5に送信する(ステップS72)。また、利用者アプリケーションは、購入した商品に取り付けられている通信デバイス7Bから受信するデバイスIDをアプリケーションサーバ5に送信する(ステップS74)。
前述したように、商品に取り付けられている通信デバイス7Bは、通信デバイス7Aと同様に、好ましくは開封検出機能を備えている。商品の開封が検出した場合、通信デバイス7Bから利用者端末2への送信信号には、開封を検出したことを示す情報が含まれる。
また、家庭における利用者の商品の使用開始タイミングや、使用回数又は使用頻度を把握できる。つまり、特定の利用者による商品の使用実態を把握でき、有用なマーケティング情報を得ることができる。
