Definitions
- the present invention relates to a burner assembly which is used on gas cooker devices and which provides a mixture of gas and air with the help of a venturi element.
- a burner assembly that supplies flammable gas and air mixture is mounted to the mounting holes on a burner plate on a cooker.
- the burner assembly has an inlet opening to which an injector is connected.
- Horizontal or vertical injector types are available depending on whether the injector is placed on the base of the lower body from the bottom or on the peripheral wall from the side.
- Burner assemblies with horizontal or partially angled injectors installed have a gas inlet located on a lower body and a venturi element placed opposite thereof.
- the venturi element located within the lower body in order to provide the high air inlet flow required in burner assemblies supplying double-ring combustion (wok type), accelerates the air taken into the lower body by vacuum with the gas supplied from the injector.
- An effective air-gas mixture is obtained by supplying the accelerated air and gas into the lower body from the venturi element outlet.
- the strength of the flame is affected by the length of the venturi flume. As the length of the venturi flume becomes longer, a stronger and more homogeneous burn is obtained. Manufacturers are developing alternative burner assemblies to extend the length of the venturi flume. However, these burner assemblies contain quite complex and difficult solutions due to the limitations caused by the standard burner plate and mounting opening dimensions of the cookers.
- EP2712334 discloses a complex manufacturing method for obtaining a lower body of the burner having a venturi element. Accordingly, a mixer in the form of a narrowing tube providing axial venturi effect with at least one flame distributor is formed to be coupled with a burner head and the container form is obtained in one piece by casting or die casting. This method produces a burner with a difficult and costly manufacturing step that employs a core.
- the aim of the invention is to increase the length of the venturi element in the burner assembly comprising a venturi element for cooker devices.
- the invention relates to a lower body having a peripheral wall provided with a gas inlet from the front portion and the top of which is open in such a way to form a rim; a venturi element extending axially within the lower body from a venturi inlet opposite the gas inlet to a rear portion of the peripheral wall, in such a way to mix gas supplied from the gas inlet with air; a burner assembly for a gas cooker comprising an upper part which is adapted to the lower body along the rim from the bottom in a hermetic way and attached to a burner plate from the top.
- the invention comprises a rim angle that provides inclination towards the rear part at the border where the upper rim joins the upper part and an elongated part where the venturi element is located adjacent to the rear part.
- the rim angle ensures that the part close to the lower portion remain below the part close to the upper portion along the border where the upper part and lower body are connected to each other.
- sufficient mounting distance is obtained between the connection elements or other constructional details at the bottom and the above portion, especially the burner plate.
- This enables the lower body to produce an elongated area for the venturi element with the rim angle. Thanks to the rim angle that allows the venturi element to be obtained in a wider area (compared to what the standard lower body can provide) and in a way that allows an extended section, the ambient air flown into the lower body increases and the combustion efficiency increases.
- the rim angle is selected between 1 -30. At this angle, the height difference between the upper part and the lower part is sufficient to be equal or greater, for example, between the raised portion of the burner plate and its normal distance. Thus, a space for the elongated portion is provided to the venturi element in such a way to allow increased combustion efficiency.
- a preferred embodiment of the invention comprises an overlapping lower body flange and an upper part flange that fits thereon by extending on the plane where the upper rim connects to the upper part.
- the lower body flange and the upper part flange provide the required connection element assembly space for the gas-tight fixation of the corresponding lower body and upper part to each other.
- the lower body flange is provided at the rear portion.
- the invention comprises at least one connection element that positions on the lower body flange and that engages in such a way to provide a tight connection to the upper part flange.
- the connection element can be selected from known connection elements that provide tight connection, such as pins, rivets or the like.
- the invention comprises a mounting element adapted in the upper part so that the upper part is placed inside a raised portion so that the lower body flange that bends down due to the rim angle does not touch to a burner plate from the bottom.
- the mounting element for example the mounting plate, connects to the burner plate and helps mounting to the raised portion of the burner plate from the upper section of the upper part.
- the mounting member circumferentially holds the upper part, placing it in such a way that the lower body flange does not touch the inner edge of the raised portion.
- the lower body flange which bends down due to the rim angle, prevents the contact of the lower body held by the upper body placed on the burner plate with the mounting element to the burner place, and thus the burner assembly, which has a venturi element with an elongated portion, can be seated on the burner plate easily.
- the invention comprises a plate form that circumferentially surrounds the upper part of the mounting element.
- the mounting element in the form of a plate shortens the mounting distance to the burner plate.
- a compact burner assembly is provided on the cooker.
- the invention comprises a gas transmission channel provided at the upper section of the upper part and reaching the lower body, as well as an upper part having a flame spreader providing at least one flame ring by passing to the gas transmission channel.
- the flame spreader allows the air-gas mixture supplied with the venturi element to be distributed in a crown structure in such a way to provide radial flame elements.
- the invention comprises an injector that is arranged coaxially with the corresponding venturi inlet by positioning at an acute angle to the gas inlet.

Description
A BURNER ASSEMBLY WITH A VENTURI ELEMENT FOR GAS COOKING DEVICE
TECHNICAL FIELD
The present invention relates to a burner assembly which is used on gas cooker devices and which provides a mixture of gas and air with the help of a venturi element.
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
A burner assembly that supplies flammable gas and air mixture is mounted to the mounting holes on a burner plate on a cooker. The burner assembly has an inlet opening to which an injector is connected. Horizontal or vertical injector types are available depending on whether the injector is placed on the base of the lower body from the bottom or on the peripheral wall from the side.
Burner assemblies with horizontal or partially angled injectors installed have a gas inlet located on a lower body and a venturi element placed opposite thereof. Particularly, the venturi element located within the lower body in order to provide the high air inlet flow required in burner assemblies supplying double-ring combustion (wok type), accelerates the air taken into the lower body by vacuum with the gas supplied from the injector. An effective air-gas mixture is obtained by supplying the accelerated air and gas into the lower body from the venturi element outlet.
The strength of the flame is affected by the length of the venturi flume.
EP2712334 discloses a complex manufacturing method for obtaining a lower body of the burner having a venturi element. Accordingly, a mixer in the form of a narrowing tube providing axial venturi effect with at least one flame distributor is formed to be coupled with a burner head and the container form is obtained in one piece by casting or die casting. This method produces a burner with a difficult and costly manufacturing step that employs a core.
BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION
The aim of the invention is to increase the length of the venturi element in the burner assembly comprising a venturi element for cooker devices.
To achieve the said objectives, the invention relates to a lower body having a peripheral wall provided with a gas inlet from the front portion and the top of which is open in such a way to form a rim; a venturi element extending axially within the lower body from a venturi inlet opposite the gas inlet to a rear portion of the peripheral wall, in such a way to mix gas supplied from the gas inlet with air; a burner assembly for a gas cooker comprising an upper part which is adapted to the lower body along the rim from the bottom in a hermetic way and attached to a burner plate from the top. In the preferred embodiment, the invention comprises a rim angle that provides inclination towards the rear part at the border where the upper rim joins the upper part and an elongated part where the venturi element is located adjacent to the rear part. The rim angle ensures that the part close to the lower portion remain below the part close to the upper portion along the border where the upper part and lower body are connected to each other. Thus, while a wide section is obtained for injector inlet at the upper portion, sufficient mounting distance is obtained between the connection elements or other constructional details at the bottom and the above portion, especially the burner plate. This enables the lower body to produce an elongated area for the venturi element with the rim angle. Thanks to the rim angle that allows the venturi element to be obtained in a wider area (compared to what the standard lower body can provide) and in a way that allows an extended section, the ambient air flown into the lower body increases and the combustion efficiency increases.
In a preferred embodiment of the invention, the rim angle is selected between 1 -30. At this angle, the height difference between the upper part and the lower part is sufficient to be equal or greater, for example, between the raised portion of the burner plate and its normal distance. Thus, a space for the elongated portion is provided to the venturi element in such a way to allow increased combustion efficiency.
A preferred embodiment of the invention comprises an overlapping lower body flange and an upper part flange that fits thereon by extending on the plane where the upper rim connects to the upper part. The lower body flange and the upper part flange provide the required connection element assembly space for the gas-tight fixation of the corresponding lower body and upper part to each other.
In a preferred embodiment of the invention, the lower body flange is provided at the rear portion. Thus, a compact burner assembly is obtained that does not require the extension of the lateral parts.
In a preferred embodiment, the invention comprises at least one connection element that positions on the lower body flange and that engages in such a way to provide a tight connection to the upper part flange. The connection element can be selected from known connection elements that provide tight connection, such as pins, rivets or the like.
In a preferred embodiment, the invention comprises a mounting element adapted in the upper part so that the upper part is placed inside a raised portion so that the lower body flange that bends down due to the rim angle does not touch to a burner plate from the bottom. The mounting element, for example the mounting plate, connects to the burner plate and helps mounting to the raised portion of the burner plate from the upper section of the upper part. For example, the mounting member circumferentially holds the upper part, placing it in such a way that the lower body flange does not touch the inner edge of the raised portion. The lower body flange, which bends down due to the rim angle, prevents the contact of the lower body held by the upper body placed on the burner plate with the mounting element to the burner place, and thus the burner assembly, which has a venturi element with an elongated portion, can be seated on the burner plate easily.
In a preferred embodiment, the invention comprises a plate form that circumferentially surrounds the upper part of the mounting element. The mounting element in the form of a plate shortens the mounting distance to the burner plate. Thus, a compact burner assembly is provided on the cooker.
In a preferred embodiment, the invention comprises a gas transmission channel provided at the upper section of the upper part and reaching the lower body, as well as an upper part having a flame spreader providing at least one flame ring by passing to the gas transmission channel. The flame spreader allows the air-gas mixture supplied with the venturi element to be distributed in a crown structure in such a way to provide radial flame elements.
In a preferred embodiment, the invention comprises an injector that is arranged coaxially with the corresponding venturi inlet by positioning at an acute angle to the gas inlet. In this case, the length of the venturi element in the lower body is increased.
In a preferred embodiment of the invention, the lower body is in the form of a container produced by metal injection. This structure allows obtaining a lower body suitable for high security conditions at low cost.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION
In this detailed description, the development of the subject matter of the invention has been described without any limitation and only with references to the examples for a better explanation of the subject.
In Figure 1 , a lower body (10) of the burner assembly of the invention and an upper part (20) thereof attached thereon in the form of a hat is shown with an injector (50) comprising a gas connection mounted isometrically. The lower body (10) is made of metal material, preferably aluminum, and has a form in the form of a hollow container. A peripheral wall (12) of the lower body (10) defines a circular rim (1 1 ) open at its upper part. The peripheral wall (12) forms the lower body (10) together with a base (15). The injector (50) is gas-tightly removably mounted at an acute angle with respect to the horizontal axis into a gas inlet (14) in the form of a hole opened in a front portion (13) of the peripheral wall (12). An air inlet (19) from both sides mutually is formed at the front portion (13) at a distance from the gas inlet (14), in such a way to reach into the lower body (10). The injector (50) directly faces a venturi inlet (32) of a venturi element (30) extending within the lower body (10) coaxially with its extension axis. The upper part (20) seals an upper wall (22) and the lower body (10) from above in a gas- tight manner in such a way that only the passage channel (27) for air or gas is located on the lower part (10). The upper part (20) is joined to the lower body (10) with a flange structure on a rear portion (17) opposite to the front portion (13). A lower body flange (18) is located on
the peripheral wall (12) of the lower body (10), close to the upper part (20) at the rear portion (17). The lower body flange (18) is a combined extension of the lower body (10) and is in radial form. An upper part flange (25) extends behind the upper part (20) in such a way that the lower body flange (18) sits thereon. The lower body flange (18) and the upper part flange (25) together delimit a mounting plane. The connection elements (26) consisting of rivets are sequentially nailed to this mounting plane. The connection elements (26) provide a tight fit of the upper part (20) onto the lower body (10) by connecting the lower body flange (18) and the upper part flange (25) in an adjacent manner.
In Figure 2, the burner assembly is shown laterally, ready-to-operate, mounted on a burner plate (70). The burner plate (70) covers the upper part of a cooker (not shown). It comprises a plate extension (74) on the burner plate (70) and raised portions (72) formed by providing levels from them and surrounding a mounting hole (76) for mounting the burner assembly. The upper part (20) is mounted to the bottom-raised portion (72) with a mounting element having a metal structure (60) adapted to the upper wall (22) and the fixing elements (64) that engage in the holder parts (62) having distributed nail structure thereon. By fixing the upper part (20) on the burner plate (70), the passage channel (27) extends upwards from the part accessed through a mounting hole (76) and the upper part (40) is positioned in such a way to allow gas passage. The upper part (40) consists of a flame spreader (42) extending radially outward from the passage channel (27) and a planar metal top cover (44) that is removably placed above it. In the described embodiment, the upper part (40) comprises a double ring flame distributor (42) adapted for a double ring wok burner.
A rim angle (a) made with the burner plate plane (70) is provided at a rim border (24) defined circumferentially from a front end (21 ) of the upper part (20) to the upper part flange (25). In this way, the rim (1 1 ) extends from the front portion (13) to the rear portion (17) by overlapping the rim border (24) along the peripheral wall (12) in such a way to have the same rim angle (a) so that it has a downward slope. The rim angle (a) is preferably set at 15°. Thanks to the rim angle (a), the lower body flange (18) extends in a planar form on the edge of the rim (1 1 ) and forms a downward bend in relation to the burner plate (70). Thus, an elongated portion (16) is obtained by extending the rear portion (17) below the raised portion (72).
The widening effect of the elongated portion (16) to the lower body (10) is seen in Figure 3 more clearly from the top. An elongated portion (16) is obtained by extending the circular boundaries of the lower body (10) outwards at the rear portion (17). The venturi element (30)
sits axially in the lower body (10). The venturi element (30) is located in the elongated portion (16) from its rear portion extending towards a rear wall (36) opposite to the venturi inlet (32). The rear wall (36) extends by dividing the elongated portion (16) in the middle.
As seen in Figure 2, thanks to the rim angle (a), the lower body flange (18) bends downwards and is mounted under the burner plate (70) without touching the wall surrounding the raised portion (72) of the burner plate (70). Thus, the rear portion (17) is pulled radially towards the plate extension (74) to obtain an elongated portion (16). The flammable gas provided by the injector (50) is taken into the lower body (10) together with the air supplied from the air inlets (19). The flammable gas and air directed to the venturi inlet (32) where low pressure is provided therefrom, are accelerated by passing through the narrowing part (34) in the venturi element (30), which is aligned axially against the gas inlet (14) on the lower body (20), and then taken from the rear wall (36) to the lower body (10). Here, the air-gas mixture exiting through the transition channel (27) is transferred to the upper part (40) and divided into parts radially outwardly by the flame distributor (42) and provides the flame crown in case of ignition.
