Definitions

  • the subject generally relates to gardening systems for indoor plants, and more particularly to a system and method for providing improved environmental control and visibility for indoor gardening centers.
  • a conventional indoor gardening center includes a box defining a single chamber containing multiple trays or shelves supporting seedlings or plants, for example, for growing herbs, vegetables or other plants in an indoor environment.
  • such an indoor garden center may include an environmental control system for maintaining the growth chamber at a desired temperature or humidity.
  • Some indoor garden centers may also include artificial lighting systems that provide the light necessary for these plants to grow.
  • conventional indoor gardening centers have little versatility in terms of controlling room environments.
  • the desired environmental conditions can generally vary widely for specific plants. For example, some plants may prefer a warmer climate (for example, above room temperature), while other plants may prefer a cooler climate (for example, below room temperature).
  • the optimal humidity level, lighting level, and other growth factors may also vary from plant to plant. Ordinary indoor gardening centers cannot compensate for this change.
  • such centers generally provide poor visibility for the plants growing in them.
