　本発明は、画像形成システムおよび画像形成装置に関するものである。

　本発明によれば、撮影装置が故障した場合でも、正当なユーザーの利用を許可しつつ正当ではないユーザーの利用を拒否する画像形成システムおよび画像形成装置が得られる。

　図１に示すように、画像形成装置１は、撮影装置でユーザーを撮影し、撮影画像データを所定の記憶媒体（フラッシュメモリーなど）に記憶していく。なお、画像形成装置１は、ユーザーの有無に拘わらず撮影装置で常時、画像形成装置１の前方の所定範囲（つまり、ユーザーが画像形成装置１に対面して操作や印刷物の受領などを行うときにユーザーが所在する位置）を撮影するようにしてもよいし、図示せぬ人感センサーなどでその所定範囲内に人がいることを検出したときに撮影装置で撮影するようにしてもよい。
　図２に示す画像形成システムでは、画像形成装置１が、社内ＬＡＮ（Local Area Network）などのネットワーク２に接続されており、さらに、ユーザー端末装置３および管理者端末装置４がネットワーク３に接続されている。
　ユーザー端末装置３および管理者端末装置４は、例えばネットワーク機能を有するパーソナルコンピューターである。ユーザー端末装置３には、画像形成装置１用のプリンタードライバーがインストールされており、ユーザー端末装置３は、そのプリンタードライバーを使用して、プリントジョブ要求を画像形成装置１に送信可能となっている。また、管理者端末装置４には、認証管理用のプログラムがインストールされており、管理者端末装置４は、そのプログラムを常駐させて、認証管理部４ａとして動作する。
　認証管理部４ａは、プリントジョブの実行の可否をそのプリントジョブのプリント画像データおよびユーザーのユーザー情報に基づいて判定し、プリントジョブの実行を許可する場合には、認証コードをユーザーに発行するとともに、画像形成装置１に送信し、プリントジョブの実行を拒否する場合には、認証コードをユーザーに発行しない。

　撮影装置１２は、当該画像形成装置１の前方の所定範囲を撮影し撮影画像を出力する。この実施の形態では、撮影装置１２は、画像形成装置１に設けられているが、外部に設置されていてもよい。
　通信装置２１は、ネットワーク２に接続され、ネットワーク２に接続された他の装置（ユーザー端末装置３、管理者端末装置４など）との間で所定の通信プロトコルでデータ通信を行う内部装置（ネットワークインターフェイスなど）である。
　また、プリント装置２２は、例えば電子写真方式で原稿画像を印刷用紙に印刷する内部装置である。
　また、コントローラー２３は、図示せぬＣＰＵ（Central Processing Unit）、ＲＯＭ（Read Only Memory）、ＲＡＭ（Random Access Memory）などを有するコンピューターを備え、ＲＯＭまたは図示せぬ記憶装置に記憶されているプログラムをＲＡＭへロードし、そのプログラムをＣＰＵで実行することにより、各種処理部として動作する。コントローラー２３は、ＡＳＩＣ（Application Specific Integrated Circuit）を備え、ＡＳＩＣで特定の処理を実行するようにしてもよい。
　ここでは、コントローラー２３は、認証処理部３１および制御部３２として動作する。
　認証処理部３１は、当該画像形成装置１に対面しているユーザーを撮影する所定の撮影装置１２の状態に基づいて、プリントジョブの実行の可否を判定する。
　具体的には、認証処理部３１は、（ａ）撮影装置１２が故障していない場合（つまり、撮影装置１２から適切な撮影画像データが得られる場合）、プリントジョブの実行を許可し、かつ撮影装置１２で前記ユーザーを撮影し、（ｂ）撮影装置１２が故障している場合、プリントジョブの実行を保留し、通信装置２１を使用して、プリントジョブのプリント画像データおよびユーザーのユーザー情報（ユーザー名、ユーザーの属するグループ、ユーザーの権限レベルなど）を管理者端末装置４に送信し、（ｃ）通信装置２１を使用して、管理者端末装置４から送信されてくる認証コードを受信し、（ｄ）他方、ユーザーにより操作パネル１１（入力装置１１ｂ）に対して認証コードが入力されると、ユーザーにより入力された認証コードと、管理者端末装置４から受信した認証コードとが一致するか否かを判定し、（ｅ）ユーザーにより入力された認証コードと、管理者端末装置４から受信した認証コードとが一致する場合、プリントジョブを実行する。
　なお、ユーザー情報は、例えば、ユーザーログイン時のユーザー認証などに使用される図示せぬユーザー登録データから得られる。また、例えば、ユーザー端末装置３は、ユーザーに発行された認証コードを受信して表示し、ユーザーは、ユーザー端末装置３に表示された認証コードを視認し、画像形成装置１に入力する。
　なお、認証処理部３１は、認証コードが発行されない場合、および正当な認証コードが発行後所定時間内に認証コードの入力がない場合、プリントジョブ要求を破棄する。
　制御部３２は、ユーザーにより指定されたプリントジョブをプリント装置２２を使用して実行する。具体的には、制御部３２は、プリントジョブ要求に対して、ラスタライズ、ハーフトーニングなどの所定の画像処理を実行して、プリント画像データを生成し、プリント画像データに基づきプリント装置２２を制御して、プリントジョブ要求で指定された画像をプリントする。つまり、撮影装置１２が故障している場合、プリントジョブは、プリント画像データの生成後に保留状態となり、上述の認証コードが一致した場合に再開される。したがって、生成されたプリント画像データは、上述の認証コードが一致するかプリントジョブが破棄されるまでＲＡＭなどに保持される。
　次に、上記画像形成システムの動作について説明する。図３は、図２に示す画像形成システムにおいて撮影装置１２が故障した場合の動作を説明するシーケンス図である。
　ユーザー端末装置３は、ユーザー操作に従ってプリントジョブ要求を画像形成装置１に送信する（ステップＳ１）。
　画像形成装置１の制御部３２は、通信装置２１を使用して、プリントジョブ要求を受け付けると、撮影装置１２が故障しているか否かを判定する。撮影装置１２が故障していない場合、制御部３２は、撮影装置１２による撮影およびプリントジョブ要求により指定されたプリントジョブを実行する。
　一方、撮影装置１２が故障している場合（ステップＳ２）、認証処理部３１は、通信装置２１を使用して、そのプリントジョブのジョブＩＤ、プリント画像データ、およびプリントジョブ要求を送信してきたユーザーのユーザー情報を管理者端末装置４に送信する（ステップＳ３）。
　管理者端末装置４の認証管理部４ａは、そのジョブＩＤ、プリント画像データおよびユーザー情報を受信し、上述のように、プリント画像データおよびユーザー情報に基づいて、認証コード（ここでは、パスワード）を発行するか否かを判定する。
　ここで、管理者端末装置４の動作について説明する図４は、図２における管理者端末装置４の動作について説明するフローチャートである。
　認証管理部４ａは、ジョブＩＤ、プリント画像データおよびユーザー情報を受信すると（ステップＳ２１）、上述のように、プリント画像データに基づく画像が社内機密文書であるか否かを判定する（ステップＳ２２）。プリント画像データに基づく画像が社内機密文書である場合、認証管理部４ａは、ユーザー情報（例えばユーザー権限レベル）に基づいて、ユーザーが社内機密文書のプリント権限を有するか否かを判定し（ステップＳ２３）、ユーザーが社内機密文書のプリント権限を有するときには、認証コード（パスワード）を発行し（ステップＳ２４）、そうではない場合には、認証コードを発行せずにエラー処理（エラー応答など）を実行する（ステップＳ２５）。一方、プリント画像データに基づく画像が社内機密文書ではない場合、認証管理部４ａは、ユーザー情報（例えばユーザー所属グループ）に基づいて、ユーザーが社内ユーザーであるか否かを判定し（ステップＳ２６）、ユーザーが社内ユーザーであれば、認証コード（パスワード）を発行し（ステップＳ２７）、そうではない場合には、認証コードを発行せずにエラー処理（エラー応答など）を実行する（ステップＳ２８）。
　図３に戻り、認証管理部４ａは、認証コードを発行すると判定した場合（ステップＳ４）、ジョブＩＤ（つまり、プリントジョブ）に固有な認証コードを生成し、ジョブＩＤとともにユーザーおよび画像形成装置１へ送信する（ステップＳ５，Ｓ６）。
　ユーザー端末装置３は、その認証コードを受信し表示する（ステップＳ７）。ユーザーは、ユーザー端末装置３に表示された認証コードを視認し、画像形成装置１を操作して、その認証コードをジョブＩＤとともに入力する。
　画像形成装置１の認証処理部３１は、操作パネル１１の入力装置１１ｂでそのジョブＩＤおよび認証コードを検出し（ステップＳ８）、そのジョブＩＤについて、管理者端末装置４から受信した認証コードと、ユーザーにより入力された認証コードとが一致するか否かを判定する（ステップＳ９）。両者が一致した場合、制御部３２は、そのジョブＩＤのプリントジョブについて、プリント装置２２を使用して、プリントを実行する（ステップＳ１０）。
　以上のように、上記実施の形態によれば、認証処理部３１は、撮影装置１２が故障している場合、プリントジョブの実行を保留し、プリントジョブのプリント画像データおよびユーザーのユーザー情報を管理者端末装置４に送信し、（ｃ）管理者端末装置４においてプリントジョブの実行がプリント画像データおよびユーザー情報に基づき許可された場合、管理者端末装置４から認証コードを受信し、（ｄ）ユーザーにより認証コードが入力されると、ユーザーにより入力された認証コードと、管理者端末装置４から受信した前記認証コードとが一致するか否かを判定し、（ｅ）両者が一致する場合、プリントジョブを実行する。
　これにより、撮影装置１２が故障した場合でも、正当なユーザーの利用を許可しつつ正当ではないユーザーの利用を拒否することができる。
　なお、上述の実施の形態に対する様々な変更および修正については、当業者には明らかである。そのような変更および修正は、その主題の趣旨および範囲から離れることなく、かつ、意図された利点を弱めることなく行われてもよい。つまり、そのような変更および修正が請求の範囲に含まれることを意図している。
　例えば、上記実施の形態において、認証コードは、ワンタイムパスワードでもよい。
　本発明は、例えば、複合機などの画像形成装置に適用可能である。

Claims (4)

  1. 　画像形成装置と、
    　管理者端末装置とを備え、
    　前記画像形成装置は、プリント装置と、ユーザーにより指定されたプリントジョブを前記プリント装置を使用して実行する制御部と、当該画像形成装置に対面している前記ユーザーを撮影する所定の撮影装置の状態に基づいて前記プリントジョブの実行の可否を判定する認証処理部とを備え、
    　前記管理者端末装置は、前記プリントジョブの実行の可否を前記プリントジョブのプリント画像データおよび前記ユーザーのユーザー情報に基づいて判定し、前記プリントジョブの実行を許可する場合には、認証コードを前記ユーザーに発行するとともに、前記画像形成装置に送信し、前記プリントジョブの実行を拒否する場合には、認証コードを前記ユーザーに発行せず、
    　前記認証処理部は、（ａ）前記撮影装置が故障していない場合、前記プリントジョブの実行を許可し、かつ前記撮影装置で前記ユーザーを撮影し、（ｂ）前記撮影装置が故障している場合、前記プリントジョブの実行を保留し、前記プリントジョブのプリント画像データおよび前記ユーザーのユーザー情報を前記管理者端末装置に送信し、（ｃ）前記管理者端末装置から送信されてくる認証コードを受信し、（ｄ）前記ユーザーにより認証コードが入力されると、前記ユーザーにより入力された前記認証コードと、前記管理者端末装置から受信した前記認証コードとが一致するか否かを判定し、（ｅ）前記ユーザーにより入力された前記認証コードと、前記管理者端末装置から受信した前記認証コードとが一致する場合、前記プリントジョブを実行すること、
    　を特徴とする画像形成システム。
  2. 　前記管理者端末装置は、前記プリント画像データに基づきプリントすべき画像が所定種別の文書であると判定した場合、前記ユーザーが前記所定種別の文書のプリント権限を有していると前記ユーザー情報から特定されたときには、前記認証コードを発行し、前記ユーザーが前記所定種別の文書のプリント権限を有していると前記ユーザー情報から特定されないときには、前記認証コードを発行しないことを特徴とする請求項１記載の画像形成システム。
  3. 　前記管理者端末装置は、前記プリント画像データに基づきプリントすべき画像が所定種別の文書ではないと判定した場合、前記ユーザーが特定グループのユーザーであると前記ユーザー情報から特定されたときには、前記認証コードを発行し、前記ユーザーが特定グループのユーザーであると前記ユーザー情報から特定されないときには、前記認証コードを発行しないことを特徴とする請求項２記載の画像形成システム。
  4. 　画像形成装置において、
    　プリント装置と、
    　ユーザーにより指定されたプリントジョブを前記プリント装置を使用して実行する制御部と、
    　当該画像形成装置に対面している前記ユーザーを撮影する所定の撮影装置の状態に基づいて前記ジョブの実行の可否を判定する認証処理部とを備え、
    　前記認証処理部は、（ａ）前記撮影装置が故障していない場合、前記プリントジョブの実行を許可し、かつ前記撮影装置で前記ユーザーを撮影し、（ｂ）前記撮影装置が故障している場合、前記プリントジョブの実行を保留し、前記プリントジョブのプリント画像データおよび前記ユーザーのユーザー情報を所定の管理者端末装置に送信し、（ｃ）前記管理者端末装置において前記プリントジョブの実行が前記プリント画像データおよび前記ユーザー情報に基づき許可された場合に前記ユーザーに発行されかつ送信されてくる認証コードを受信し、（ｄ）前記ユーザーにより認証コードが入力されると、前記ユーザーにより入力された前記認証コードと、前記管理者端末装置から受信した前記認証コードとが一致するか否かを判定し、（ｅ）前記ユーザーにより入力された前記認証コードと、前記管理者端末装置から受信した前記認証コードとが一致する場合、前記プリントジョブを実行すること、
    　を特徴とする画像形成装置。
