Definitions
- the present invention relates to a reading device that reads information of an RF tag.
- the accounting system 100 includes an RF tag 102 attached to each product P, a reader / writer 104 that reads information from the RF tag 102, and a register 106 that is communicably connected to the reader / writer 104.
- the reader / writer 104 is installed on the back side of the accounting counter T, reads the information from the RF tag 102 of the product P in the shopping basket on the accounting counter T at once, and transmits the read information to the register 106.
- the register 106 performs accounting processing based on product information (product name and price) corresponding to the received information.
- accounting processing can be performed with a simple operation of placing a shopping cart on the accounting counter T. Further, since the accounting process can be performed while being placed on the accounting counter T, the contents of the shopping cart can be visually confirmed, and the customer can reconfirm the product P to be purchased even during the accounting process. On the other hand, since the communication area of the reader / writer 104 and the space where the customer exists are continuous, the radio wave emitted from the antenna of the reader / writer 104 affects other devices, or the radio wave emitted from other devices. May interfere with the communication radio waves of the reader / writer 104.
- the reading device of Patent Document 1 includes a housing that accommodates a product through an opening and a lid that opens and closes the opening, and the housing and the lid are formed of a member that reflects or absorbs radio waves.
- This reading apparatus reads the RF tag in a state in which the opening of the housing is closed with a lid, that is, in a state where an article accommodated in the housing is sealed with a shield, so that the above-described problems relating to radio waves can be prevented. Can do.
- Patent Document 1 requires a troublesome operation of putting a product in a housing, closing the lid, performing accounting processing, and then opening the lid and taking out the product. Moreover, since the shopping cart accommodated in the housing cannot be visually recognized, the product cannot be confirmed again during the accounting process. That is, customer convenience is impaired.
- an object of the present invention is to provide a reading apparatus that reduces the influence of radio waves while ensuring convenience during reading.
- the present invention is a reading device that reads information from an RF tag attached to an article, and includes an antenna that radiates a radio wave for communication with the RF tag, the antenna, A shield part having an opening wider than the article, and reading information from the RF tag in a state where the shield part is open.
- the shield portion includes a radio wave absorption layer that absorbs the radio wave, and a radio wave reflection layer that is provided on an outer side of the radio wave absorption layer and reflects the radio wave, and extends from the opening toward the antenna.
- the radio wave reflection layer extends longer than the radio wave absorption layer.
- the antenna since the antenna is accommodated in the shield part, the spread of the radio wave emitted from the antenna can be suppressed, and the influence of the radio wave on other devices can be reduced. Further, since the shield portion has an opening wider than the article, the RF tag can be read by arranging the article in the shield or arranging the article on the opening. At that time, since reading is performed with the shield part opened, a troublesome operation of closing the opening as in the conventional case is not required. Therefore, it is possible to reduce the influence of radio waves while ensuring convenience during reading.
