Definitions
- the invention relates to a sealing arrangement of a wheel bearing, in particular for motor vehicles.
- the seals used may cooperate with a spin plate made of formed sheet metal.
- the centrifugal plate connected to a rotating wheel hub or a wheel bearing flange can form an additional sealing labyrinth together with another metal ring arranged in a stationary part of the wheel suspension.
- sealing lips extend at least one sealing ring in the axial or radial direction and are slidably guided on the centrifugal plate.
- the abovementioned components of the seal can also be an integral part of a sealing cassette in which the sealing lips are defined in an axially pre-stressed manner.
- Axially on the wheel bearing side there is a mainly axially directed opening between the participating turning partners, which is occasionally covered by a joint bell of the adjacent constant velocity joint.
- Axial wheel flange side the opening between the rotating partners of the wheel bearing, due to the immediately adjacent wheel flange, directed radially outward and very easy to reach for splashing water. Since a metal sheet lintel on the wheel flange leads to a better sliding sealing contact than the usually untreated wheel flange inside, a centrifugal plate is mounted adjacent to the wheel flange prior to installation of the wheel bearing on the wheel hub.
- Slippage of the slinger can be triggered by vibration, continuous vibration loads or other causes, whereby the slinger on the outer surface approaches the rolling elements axially and this damage in a touch. This leads to a failure of the wheel bearing.
- a sealing arrangement for wheel bearings which is arranged by means of two sealing rings an axial opening between the two relative to each other rotatable parts of the wheel bearing and the wheel bearing axially seals.
- the two sealing rings form a gap labyrinth, which has a gutter with an axially opening and radially extending sealing gap.
- the object of the present invention is to provide a sealing arrangement which seals securely over the service life and has an increased service life.
- this object is achieved by a sealing arrangement of a wheel bearing having a first bearing part and a second bearing part connected in one piece with a wheel bearing flange, between which rolling elements are guided, the sealing arrangement comprising:
- a carrier element which is connected to the first bearing part and wherein an elastic element is provided on the carrier element, wherein the elastic element has at least one sealing lip, and in that the carrier element has a fastening section which is connected to the first bearing part .
- the axial projection of the Radlagerflansches an axial projection of the first bearing part at least partially surrounds, and wherein an inner surface of the axial projection of the Radlagerflansches forms a seat for the starting part.
- a starting part is mounted on the second bearing part in the region adjacent to the bearing flange.
- this area of the seat of the starting part is one of the most stress-rich areas of the second bearing part and of the wheel bearing flange. Stimulated by high voltage, which are triggered for example by vibrations etc. it comes to an axial migration of the starting part. The axial wandering causes the starting part to approach the rolling elements, as a result of which they can be damaged when touched.
- the wheel bearing flange has an axial projection which at least partially surrounds an axial projection of the first bearing part and an inner surface of the axial projection of the wheel bearing flange forms a seat for the starting part.
- a first sealing gap is formed between an end face of the axial projection of the wheel bearing flange and an end face of the first bearing part.
- This sealing gap defines the pre-seal or the labyrinth seal. This makes the occurrence of contamination or the like more difficult.
- the sealing gap serves to deflect the force of the wheel flange acting on the first bearing part. As a result, damage to the rolling elements is avoided.
- At least one drainage channel is provided on an outer circumferential surface of the Radlagerflansches and / or an outer peripheral surface of the first bearing part.
- These gutters serve to reinforce the sealing effect and to prevent the entry of contaminants or the like into the sealing labyrinth.
- the carrier element with the attachment portion is attached to an inner circumferential surface of the first bearing part. This avoids that this seat is infiltrated by impurities or the like and there is a corrosion, which adversely affects the seal assembly.
- An embodiment of the invention provides that the Radlagerflansch facing the Radla ger, is formed with a radially extending side surface and adjoining a Wälzköprerlaufbahnen on the second bearing part in the direction of the Radlagerflansches an abutting part receiving outer surface adjacent, and that in a transition region between the outer surface and the side surface of a radial and / or axial circumferentially formed groove is arranged. Because the seat of the starting part now falls in this area, the groove or this area can be designed such that this leads to an improvement in the component strength.
- the groove can be arranged in each case wholly or partially in the outer surface and / or the side surface.
- a groove bottom of the groove is formed with at least one radius.
- the at least one radius of the groove can be adapted to different geometries of the Radlagerflansches to minimize the stress in the transition region, as well as to increase the component strength. In this case, a single radius as well as several radii can be provided.
- a free space is formed between the transition region of the starting part and the groove base.
- grease or sealant can accumulate and distribute optimally, which further improves the fit of the run-up plate.

- Fig. 3 is a longitudinal section of a wheel bearing with an inventive
- FIG. 1 shows a longitudinal section of a wheel bearing 1 only partially illustrated with a sealing arrangement 2 according to the invention.
- the wheel bearing 1 has a first bearing part 3, which is designed as an outer ring 4 and is connected in the installed state to a wheel carrier (not shown). Furthermore, a second bearing part 5 is provided, which forms the inner ring 6.
- the second bearing part 5 has an integrally connected Radlagerflansch 7. Between the first bearing part 3 and the second bearing part 5, two rows of rolling elements 8, 9 are guided.
- the seal assembly 1 of the wheel bearing 2 comprises a carrier element 10, which is connected to the inner circumference of the first bearing part 3 by means of press fit.
- an elastic member 11 is provided, wherein the elastic member 11 has at least one sealing lip.
- the carrier element 10 has a fastening section for attachment to the first bearing part 3. To prevent rusting under the attachment section avoid a so-called static seal is formed by means of a formed on the elastic part sealing ring.
- the seal arrangement has a starting part 12, which is fastened to the second bearing part 5 and to which the at least one sealing lip is in sliding contact. Furthermore, it can be seen that the wheel bearing flange 7 has an axial projection 13. This axial projection 13 to at least partially closes an axial projection 14 of the first bearing part 3. Based on this training, a pre-seal in the form of a labyrinth is formed. In this case, a first sealing gap is formed between an end face 16 of the axial projection 13 of the wheel bearing flange 7 and an end face 17 of the first bearing part 3. The end face 17 of the first bearing part is formed on a side surface, which radially adjoins the projection 14 and extends radially away from the rows of rolling elements 8, 9.
- an inner surface 15 of the axial projection 13 of the wheel bearing flange 7 forms a seat for the starting part 12. This eliminates the known from the prior art seat in the region of the transition between the second bearing part 5 and Radlagerflansch. 7
- the axial projection 13 is adjoined by a radially extending side surface 18. Further, an adjoining Wälzköprerlaufbahnen on the second bearing part 5 in the direction of Radlagerflansches 7 adjacent outer surface 19 is provided.
- the outer surface 19 may be cylindrical and have a conical shape. This outer surface 19 merges into the radially extending side surface 18 in a transition region 20. In the transition region 20, a radial and / or axial, circumferential groove 21 is formed.
- the groove 21 is adaptable to the respective geometry of the Radlagerflansches 7.
- a groove base 22 of the groove 21 is formed with at least one radius. Between the groove base 22 and the starting part 12, a free space is formed. This space can be used to store sealants, grease, etc.

- These gutters 25, 26 form a kind of pre-seal, which should reduce the dirt entering the bearing interior.
- FIG. 2 and 3 show further embodiments of the invention.
- the same parts are denoted by the same reference numerals as in the preceding FIG.
- Figure 2 shows a second embodiment of the invention. The difference from the preceding FIG. 1 is that the starting part additionally extends radially along the end face 16.

Description
Bezeichnung der Erfindung
Dichtungsanordnung eines Radlagers
Beschreibung
