Detail (D)
Description of the Invention In order to achieve the highest level of hygiene in the areas of personal cleaning such as the toilets and bathrooms, the cleaning equipment comprising a sensor and enabling the water obtained from a source to be delivered to a user are commonly used. However, such cleaning equipment allow the control over the flow of water only by means of the sensor and it is not possible to disable the sensor control in the equipment to carry out the control manually. Moreover, although such equipment comprise various components to enable the adjustment of the water temperature, such components are not ergonomic in terms of use and the adjustment of temperature may not be achieved with desired degree of precision. Further, said cleaning equipment do not contain the components intended to provide the flow rate control and the user is not able to adjust the flow rate that is appropriate for his/her need. In this regard, an electronically controlled cleaning equipment is described, which is developed according to the present invention with a view to provide a solution for said problems.
The cleaning equipment (A) (for example a faucet) developed according to the present invention, an exemplary view of which is provided in Figure 1 , is suitable for use in the delivery of the water obtained from a source (such as a municipal water distribution network or a water storage tank) (or in the delivery of a washing liquid that may contain a cleaning agent) to a user and comprises at least one body (A1 ), which is connected with said source preferably via a delivery line and through which the water may pass; at least one water outlet (A2) where the water passing through the body (A1 ) is delivered to the user; at least one sensor (A3), which is positioned in said body (A1 ), has at least one sensing zone and detects the presence of an object in case such object is positioned within the sensing zone (said sensor being able to be an IR sensor, ultrasonic sensor or microwave sensor); and at least one automatic flow mode in which the flow of water is controlled only in a non-contact manner, the flow of water from said water outlet is enabled upon said sensor (A3) detecting the presence of the object and the flow of water is interrupted when the object has been removed from the sensing zone. The cleaning equipment (A) developed, a detailed sectional view of which is provided in Figure 2, further comprises at least one manual flow mode in which the flow of water from the water outlet (A2) is controlled only by the contact of the user; at least one mixed flow mode in which the flow of water from the water outlet (A2) is able to be controlled both by the user's contact and in a non-contact manner; at least one first adjustment member (A4), which is connected to said body (A1 ), is capable of rotating about an axis, enables via said rotational motion the adjustment (preferably manually) of the temperature of the water that is to pass through the body (A1 ) to be delivered to the user via the water outlet (A2) in all the flow modes and may preferably be a flywheel; at least one second adjustment member (A5), which is connected to said body (A1 ), is capable of rotating about an axis, enables via said rotational motion the adjustment (preferably manually) of the flow rate of the water that is to pass through the body (A1 ) to be delivered to the user via the water outlet (A2) in all the flow modes and may preferably be a flywheel; at least one control unit (K), which is connected to the first adjustment member (A4) and the second adjustment member (A5), determines the extent of rotation of the first adjustment member (A4) and the second adjustment member (A5) and accordingly enables the adjustment of the temperature and the flow rate for the water to be delivered to the user via the water outlet; and at least one switch (B), which is connected to the control unit (K) and to said first adjustment member (A4) or second adjustment member (A5), is able to be triggered mechanically or in a touch-operated manner by means of the first adjustment member (A4) and/or the second adjustment member (A5), enables, upon being triggered, the switching to be performed between said flow modes or the flow of water from the water outlet (A2) to be controlled in the manual flow mode and/or in the mixed flow mode (for example, enabling the flow of water to be interrupted in case the water is flowing and enabling the water to flow in case it is not flowing) and is preferably a microswitch.
According to a representative embodiment of the invention, the cleaning equipment (A) operates in the mixed flow mode wherein the user is able to control the flow of water from the water outlet (A2) either in a non-contact manner or by way of triggering the switch (B) via the first adjustment member (A4) and/or the second adjustment member (A5). When the user wishes to change the flow mode of the cleaning equipment (A), he/she triggers said switch (B) and thus determines the flow mode that is appropriate for his/her need. Owing to the three different flow modes that the cleaning equipment (A) includes, the highest level of ability is provided in terms of meeting the user's need. Moreover, owing to the first adjustment member (A4) and the second adjustment member (A5), which may preferably be a flywheel, it is possible to adjust both the temperate and the flow rate of the water for all the flow modes according to the user's need and in a precise and ergonomic manner, and owing to the realization of such adjustment process by means of the control unit (K), it is possible to maintain such adjustment data as recorded in the control unit (K), thereby ensuring that the same settings are preserved in the different flow modes. In this way, when a user performs the change of flow mode in line with his/her need, he/she does not have to perform a separate adjustment in the temperature and flow rate settings and thus a user friendly cleaning equipment may be obtained.
According to a preferred embodiment of the invention, the switch (B) contained by the cleaning equipment (A) developed comprises a first triggering condition for switching into the manual flow mode, a second triggering condition for switching into the automatic flow mode, a third triggering condition for switching into the mixed flow mode and a fourth triggering condition for the control over the flow of water from the water outlet (A2) in the manual flow mode and mixed flow mode wherein said triggering conditions are registered in the control unit (K). The cleaning equipment (A) switches into the manual flow mode when said switch (B) is triggered with the first triggering condition (for example, when triggered for a predetermined period of time, preferably for 3 seconds), the cleaning equipment (A) switches into the automatic flow mode when said switch (B) is triggered with the second triggering condition (for example, when triggered for a predetermined period of time, preferably for 5 seconds) and the cleaning equipment (A) switches into the mixed flow mode when said switch (B) is triggered with the third triggering condition (for example, when triggered for a predetermined period of time, preferably for 7 seconds). When the switch (B) is triggered with the fourth triggering condition (for example, when triggered momentarily for a very short time (push-pull action)), the water is enabled to flow in case it is not flowing from the water outlet (A2) or the flow of water is enabled to stop in case it is flowing, if the cleaning equipment (A) is currently in the normal flow mode or mixed flow mode. However, in case the cleaning equipment is in the automatic flow mode when the switch (B) is triggered with the fourth triggering condition, the control unit (K) does not permit the flow of water to be controlled with the switch (B) and permits the control over the flow of water to be performed only by means of the sensor (A3). According to a preferred embodiment of the invention, the connection of the first adjustment member (A4) and the second adjustment member (A5) with the control unit and the determination of the extent of rotation of these adjustment members are realized with at least one potentiometer (P). According to another embodiment, the cleaning equipment (A) developed comprises at least one digital encoder for said connection and for the determination of the extent of rotation. According to another representative embodiment, said connection and determination of the extent of rotation are realized in a wireless manner in which case the cleaning equipment (A) developed comprises at least two magnets positioned in the first adjustment member (A4) and/or the second adjustment member (A5) and at least one detection member on which a voltage is enabled to be induced as a result of the movements of said magnets, said detection member being connected with the control unit (K) and enabling the extent of rotation to be determined by means of the control unit (K) according to the voltage change on said member (said detection member being able to be in the form of a coil, a hall sensor or a magnetic induction switch [reed switch]).
According to an alternative embodiment of the invention, the first adjustment member (A4) and the second adjustment member (A5) are preferably positioned side by side on the horizontal plane. According to another preferred embodiment, said members are positioned one on the top of the other in the body (A1 ) as shown in Figure 1 . In this way, a compact and ergonomic structure may be achieved. In this embodiment, said switch (B) is also positioned in the body (A1 ) in a way to be disposed under said members that are positioned one on the top of the other wherein, in order to prevent said members that are positioned one on the top of the other from continuously triggering the switch (B) by way of contact with said switch (B) and to enable the user to trigger the switch (B) by means of said members in case needed, the cleaning equipment (A) developed comprises at least one flexible member (L) (e.g. a spring), which is positioned within the body (A1 ) in a way to be located between a bottom of the body (A1 ) and the underlying adjustment member, applies in its free state a force on the underlying adjustment member in a way to prevent the contact of the adjustment members with the switch (B) and enables the adjustment members to move away from the switch (B) and thus enables the triggering action to end when the adjustment members have been moved so that they approach the switch (B) for the purpose of triggering and when said members have been released after the triggering. In this way, the first adjustment member (A4) and the second adjustment member (A5) may perform both a rotational motion along the radial axis and a linear motion on the vertical plane, and accordingly, it becomes possible to enable the cleaning equipment (A) to be easily controlled by the user. According to this embodiment, the cleaning equipment (A) developed further comprises at least one potentiometer (P) with two shafts arranged one within the other or at least one digital encoder with two shafts arranged one within the other in order to allow the adjustment of the temperature and the flow rate of the water by the control unit (K) depending on the rotational motion of the first adjustment member (A4) and the second adjustment member (A5). Alternatively, the cleaning equipment (A) developed comprises at least two magnets positioned in the first adjustment member (A4) and/or the second adjustment member (A5) and at least one detection member on which a voltage is enabled to be induced as a result of the movements of said magnets, said detection member being connected with the control unit (K) and enabling the extent of rotation to be determined by means of the control unit (K) according to the voltage change on said member (said detection member being able to be in the form of a coil, a hall sensor or a magnetic induction switch [reed switch]) in order to allow the adjustment of the temperature and the flow rate of the water by the control unit (K) depending on the rotational motion of the first adjustment member (A4) and the second adjustment member (A5).
According to another representative embodiment of the invention shown in Figure 3, the cleaning equipment (A) developed comprises at least one mixing unit, which enables the water to be delivered to the water outlet (A2) in line with the temperature and flow rate settings determined by means of the first adjustment member (A4) and the second adjustment member (A5). Said mixing unit preferably comprises at least one first water inlet (S1 ) connected with a line supplying hot water to the cleaning equipment (A); at least one second water inlet (S2) connected with a line supplying cold water to the cleaning equipment (A); at least one collection chamber (H) into which the first water inlet (S1 ) and the second water inlet (S2) open and in which the hot water coming from the first water inlet (S1 ) and the cold water coming from the second water inlet (S2) mix with each other; at least one water delivery line (S3) connected on one side with the collection chamber (H) and on the other side with said body (A1 ) to enable the hot water and cold water mixed within said collection chamber (H) to be delivered via the water outlet (A2) to the user; at least one first control member (C1 ), which is connected with the control unit (K) and which controls the input of the required quantity of the hot - cold water to the collection chamber (H) in accordance with the temperature setting determined by the user by means of the first adjustment member (A4); and at least one second control member (C2), which is connected with the control unit (K) and which enables the water having the desired temperature within the collection chamber (H) to pass through the body (A1 ) to be delivered to the water outlet (A2) in accordance with the flow rate determined by the user by means of the second adjustment member (A5). Said first control member (C1 ) and/or second control member (C2) preferably comprise(s) at least one motor wherein said motor may be a DC motor with reducer and encoder, while it is also possible for said motor to be a motor with belt-and-pulley link or a step motor. In this embodiment, the cleaning equipment developed preferably further comprises at least one temperature sensor for measuring the temperature of the water that exits from said water delivery line (S3). Said temperature sensor is connected with the control unit (K) and it checks whether or not the temperature of the water is at the temperature value determined by means of the first adjustment member (A4) and regulates the operation of said first control member (C1 ) such that the water will be at the determined temperature value. In other words, for example in case the temperature of the water that exits from the water delivery line (S3) is higher than the determined temperature, the intake of cold water via the second water inlet (S2) to the collection chamber (H) is enabled to be performed by means of the first control member (C1 ) until the determined temperature value is reached. Similarly, in case the temperature of the water that exits from the water delivery line (S3) is lower than the determined temperature, the intake of hot water via the first water inlet (S1 ) to the collection chamber (H) is enabled to be performed by means of the first control member (C1 ) until the determined temperature value is reached. Accordingly, the cleaning equipment is enabled to operate in a precise manner thereby obtaining a reliable equipment.
