Description

A DISHWASHER COMPRISING MICROFILTER
The present invention relates to a dishwasher comprising microfilter.
Dishwashers, comprise a washing chamber arranged in the lower portion of the washing tub, where water in the washing tub is collected during washing, and a microfilter placed in the middle of the washing chamber. The microfilter can be clogged due to dirt adhering thereon after successive washing processes. This, in time, reduces the washing performance of the dishwasher, disabling the filtration system. To prevent this, the user is requested to clean the microfilter in certain intervals. However, many users do not know the frequency in which the microfilter is required to be cleaned. Therefore, usually microfilters are not cleaned for long periods of time and washing performance decreases. Hence, dishwasher performing automatic microfilter cleaning are present in the art. However, in this case, microfilter cleaning independent from the user's is performed, creating a time loss. Also, repeating microfilter cleaning in frequencies independent from the user's will, increases water consumption.
State of the art European patent application no. EP2671496 discloses a dishwasher comprising a control unit enabling automatic microfilter cleaning.
The aim of the present invention is to realize a dishwasher enabling semi-automatic performance of microfilter cleaning under user control.
The dishwasher realized to achieve the aim of the present invention and disclosed in the claims comprises a washing tub in which items are placed to be washed, a chamber provided in the lower portion of the washing tub, and a microfilter provided on the chamber. Washing water is collected on the chamber after the washing process performed in the washing tub. Dirt removed from the dishes are discharged from the washing tub with washing water after the washing process. Washing water collected in the chamber is discharged by being filtered in the microfilter. By this, dirt is collected on the microfilter without being discharged.
The dishwasher of the invention comprises a control unit enabling automatic cleaning of the microfilter. The value of the dirtiness forming on the microfilter during washing depending on the washing program is predefined on the control unit by the producer. Microfilter cleaning process is performed upon the value of dirtiness forming during washing cycles reaching a dirtiness threshold value varying according to the cleaning frequency selected by the user and predefined on the control unit by the producer.
In an embodiment of the invention, the dishwasher comprises a control unit enabling resetting the accumulated dirtiness values after cleaning of the microfilter.
In an embodiment of the invention, the dirtiness value increases depending of the intensity of the washing program. The dirtiness value saved on the control unit increases proportionally to the intensity of the washing program.
In an embodiment of the invention, the dishwasher comprises a control unit comprising a dirtiness threshold value which decreases as the cleaning frequency increases. When the user prefers more frequent cleaning of the microfilter, cleaning is performed when the dirtiness value reaches a lower dirtiness threshold value.
In an embodiment of the invention, the dishwasher comprises at least one control button enabling the user determine the cleaning frequency. The control button is provided on a control panel through which the user determines the washing parameters.
A dishwasher realized to achieve the aim of the present invention is illustrated in the accompanying drawings, wherein:
Figure 1 is a perspective view of the dishwasher.
Figure 2 is a perspective view of the chamber.
The elements in the figures are numbered individually and the correspondence of these numbers are given hereinafter.
  1. Dishwasher
  2. Washing tub
  3. Chamber
  4. Microfilter
  5. Control unit
  6. Control button
  7. Control panel
The dishwasher (1) comprises a washing tub (2) in which the items to be washed are placed, a chamber (3) provided in the lower portion of the washing tub (2), where water in the washing tub (2) is collected during washing, and a hollow cylindrical shaped microfilter (4) provided in the middle portion of the chamber (3), retaining dirt carried by water passing from the chamber (3) to the water circulation or discharge line. Washing water enables cleaning the dishes from dirt and conveys dirt from the dishes. Washing water collected on the chamber (3) is discharged from the dishwasher by being filtered by the microfilter (4). The dirt is thus collected on the microfilter (4).
The dishwasher (1) of the invention comprises a control unit (5) having a specific dirtiness value (V) predefined by the producer to its memory, determined according to the characteristic of the washing program, and corresponding to each washing program, and a dirtiness threshold value (T) corresponding to a cleaning frequency determined by the user, enabling automatic cleaning of the microfilter (4) upon reaching the dirtiness threshold value (T) by accumulation of the dirtiness values (V). The control unit (5) determines the dirtiness ratio of the microfilter (5) according to the washing programs selected by the user. The control unit (5) enables automatic cleaning of the microfilter (4) according to the dirtiness information. A dirtiness value (V) is assigned to each washing program on the control unit (5) by the producer. The dirtiness values (V) are accumulated by the control unit (5) as the washing programs are used. The microfilter (4) is cleaned automatically by the control unit (5) upon the dirtiness value (V) reaching a threshold vaue (T) depending on the cleaning frequency selected by the user.
In an embodiment of the invention, the dishwasher (1) comprises a control unit (5) enabling resetting of the accumulated dirtiness values (V) after cleaning of the microfilter (4). The dirtiness value (V) on the control unit (5) is reset after performing the cleaning of the microfilter (4). The dirtiness values (V) are accumulated again according to the used washing cycles.
In an embodiment of the invention, the dishwasher (1) comprises a control unit (5) comprising a dirtiness value (v) increasing according to the intensity of the washing program. For example, the control unit (5) perceives a low dirtiness ratio when the mini program is selected. A high dirtiness value (V) is assigned by perceiving the dishes to be dirtier when an intense washing program is selected.
In an embodiment of the invention, the dishwasher (1) comprises a control unit (5) comprising a dirtiness threshold value (T) which decreases as the cleaning frequency increases. Cleaning is performed while the dirtiness value (V) is still low as the cleaning frequency selected by the user increases. By this, to which extent the microfilter is going to be dirty is determined according to user preference.
In an embodiment of the invention, the dishwasher (1) comprises at least one control button (6) enabling the user to determine the cleaning frequency, and a control panel (7) on which the control button (6) is provided, comprising a plurality of buttons enabling the user to define the washing parameters. The user determines the microfilter (4) cleaning frequency by means of the control button (6). Water and time consumption thus varies according to user preference.
With the invention, a dishwasher (1) comprising a microfilter (4) which is automatically cleanable, and whose cleaning frequency is determined by the user, is realized. By this, microfilter (4) cleaning is performed automatically according to user control. The user determines the microfilter (4) cleaning frequency through the control unit (5). The dirtiness threshold value (T) is determined according to the cleaning frequency by means of the control unit (5) . The dirtiness values (V) depending on the used washing programs, accumulate on the control unit (5) . Microfilter (4) cleaning is performed upon the dirtiness values (V)reaching the respective dirtiness threshold values (T) . By this, water and time consumption increasing during microfilter (4) cleaning process depends on user preference.
