Definitions
- the present invention relates to an oil-in-water emulsion and a cosmetic composition comprising the same as well as improved stability of the emulsion composition through fatty acid neutralization in terms of usability, skin irritation, and skin stability.
- cosmetics have been introduced to improve the use or stability through the diversification of formulations, or to contain various functions in a single product such as moisturizing, whitening, and antioxidant.
- Such cosmetics include various substances such as water-soluble ingredients, oil-soluble ingredients, powders, and active ingredients in cosmetic compositions, and are emulsions through emulsification to mix and formulate materials having different dissolution properties and to absorb them more effectively into the skin. Has a form.
- various emulsification techniques have been developed and used to diversify cosmetic formulations and to improve the usability.
- the cosmetic composition in emulsion form must exhibit sufficient effect of the oil-soluble component contained therein, have a good feeling of use, and have excellent storage stability from the time the customer opens the product until the last use.
- the emulsified composition there is an inherent problem that stability against time and temperature change does not last forever because the oil phase and the water phase components are mixed to form a thermodynamically unstable system. This is an important factor directly related to the quality of cosmetics has been developed a number of techniques for stably maintaining the oil-soluble components in the cosmetic composition.
- the emulsion is stabilized through neutralization with a basic substance.
- the neutralization of fatty acids is increased through the basic substance, the emulsion is effectively stabilized, but since the pH of the composition rises together, it has been mainly used in cleaning products for washing after application to the skin.
- cosmetics have been developed to increase the usefulness components by using the stabilization technology to provide moisturizing lasting and nutritional properties to skin care products widely used in daily life.
- a problem that stimulates the skin occurs because it shows a slightly higher pH than the slightly acidic skin environment. Therefore, when the degree of neutralization is lowered, free fatty acids which are not neutralized affect the stability of the formulation at high and low temperatures, respectively, and thus it is difficult to guarantee the consistency and reliability of cosmetic quality.
- Republic of Korea Patent Publication No. 2015-0108637 is an oil-in-water emulsion that is excellent in stability while having a watery feeling and water resistance by using an emulsification system that combines four kinds of fatty acids, fatty alcohols and oily waxes at an optimal ratio.
