Abstract

The invention relates to a convertible, low-heat-loss incubator that can be transformed, with a single manual action, from an open incubator into a closed incubator and vice versa. When the device is operating as a closed incubator, it has less heat loss than other convertible incubators in a similar operative state and than other incubators that are only closed, because the device has a multilayer wall for insulating the neonatal chamber.

Description

ESTADO DE LA TÉCNICA FIELD OF THE INVENTION The present invention has been developed within the technological field of medical equipment oriented to the care of critical infants. This refers to a convertible incubator that, by manual action, can be transformed into a closed or open incubator according to the requirement of medical personnel. STATE OF THE TECHNIQUE
The main function of a convertible incubator is to facilitate the instant access of one or more medical specialists to a neonatal cabin in which a newborn is lodged that requires constant care and / or the execution of several emergency procedures, without said cabin losing heat inside, due to the presence of an external heater, in order to maintain the temperature of the newborn above 20 ° C.
BREVE DESCRIPCION DE LA INVENCIÓN Some convertible incubators have an opening and closing of the passenger compartment thanks to pivotable walls, such as those presented in US20120269568. However, it is not the only operation that this type of equipment can assume, for example, the incubator described in documents US20120220817 and WO201 1030177 has an opening and closing system with a fixed door, rails and a cabin that travels horizontally through these. These incubators generally have the disadvantage of not maintaining a uniform temperature for the newborn during opening or closing. A second drawback they have is the excessive loss of heat that they present during operation because they are not efficient while maintaining a thermally insulated environment from the outside environment. Such heat loss also affects other medical equipment and causes discomfort to health personnel working in intensive care units. BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION
The invention relates, in general, to a convertible incubator with opening on the horizontal axis that has a radiant heater (1), a mobile dome (8) that encloses a neonatal cabin (7) that opens or closes horizontally with the help of telescopic rails (10) in the body (12) of the equipment, and a set of layers that wrap the mobile dome (8) so that thermal insulation is generated inside the environment where the newborn is housed . The invention has two embodiments that differ in the location of the radiant heater (1). A first embodiment is achieved with the radiant heater (1) held on the movable dome (8) and a second embodiment, with the radiant heater (1) on a support attached to the body (12) of the incubator, also known as support for transfusible liquids (2).

DESCRIPCIÓN DETALLADA DE LA INVENCIÓN Figure 5: Front view of the dome showing its multiple layers and heating devices. DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION
The mobile dome (8) has a wall that has an outer layer (14), an intermediate layer (16) and an inner layer (18), which are separated so that they form an outer concentric space (15) between the outer layer (14) and intermediate layer (16); and, an inner concentric space (17) between the intermediate layer (16) and the internal layer (18). It should be noted that inside the interior concentric space (17) there is a fan (19) and a heater (20) that allow the environment to be uniformly tempered. Additionally, this mobile dome (8) has four secondary doors (9) that serve to access the newborn when the equipment is in the closed functional state, and easily slides over the moving parts of telescopic rails (10) whose fixed parts they are held in the upper part of the body (12) of the incubator. The radiant heater (1) turns on automatically when an electronic sensor (11) is activated, which detects the manual movement of the mobile dome (8). Said radiant heater (1) would turn off in case the electronic sensor (1) detects that the mobile dome (8) has returned to its initial position and that in addition a main door (6) has been raised to generate a closed environment in the neonatal cabin (7).
.  .
The equipment also has a cradle (4), fixed at one end, at the head of the body (12). The main door (6) is also fixed to the head of the body (12) of the incubator and, as noted above, serves to close the mobile dome (8) when the equipment is operating as a closed incubator. A user interface (21) and wheels (13) for the displacement of the incubator.
DESCRIPCION FUNCIONAL The invention has two embodiments: in its first embodiment, the radiant heater (1) is fixed on the movable dome (8); while in its second embodiment, this device is held in the upper part of the support for transfusible liquids (2) which is located next to the head of the newborn (5). FUNCTIONAL DESCRIPTION
For the continuous treatment of the critical neonate's health it is better that it be treated in an incubator convertible in its closed functional state (Figure 2), because in this state the incubators offer a better controlled environment in temperature, humidity, sterility and oxygen; and if the newborn suddenly suffers from cardiac or respiratory arrest, it is necessary that the convertible incubator can be transformed in the minimum possible time from the closed functional state (figure 2) to open (figures 1, 3 and 4), so that simultaneously three specialist doctors participate in the resuscitation of the newborn.
Therefore, to reduce the transformation time from closed incubator (figure 2) to open incubator (figures 1, 3 and 4) an incubator has been developed that can be transformed from the closed functional state to open as follows:
Take the main door (6) with one hand and turn it on its axis, simultaneously with the other hand move the movable dome (8) on its telescopic rails (10) towards the other end; This displacement activates the electronic sensor (11) which in turn controls the heat generated by the radiant heater (1) to keep the body temperature of the newborn (5) constant.
The mobile dome (8) of the convertible incubator when it is operating as a closed incubator (Figure 2) has the following characteristics: - Better heat distribution in the neonatal cabin (7) because it is generated in the interior concentric space (17) heat through the heater (20) and is distributed evenly by the circulating air mobilized by the fan (19).
- Less heat loss to the outside environment because the concentric outer space (15) and the outer layer (16) serve as insulating elements that significantly reduce heat losses to the outside environment.
