Abstract

The invention relates to water treatment, and specifically includes a water treatment cell. The water treatment cell includes an operative vertically extending planting tube, open at an upper end thereof, the tube having at least one liquid inlet and at least one distal liquid outlet spaced along the length of the tube, the at least one liquid inlet being operatively vertically positioned below the at least one liquid outlet, such that liquid flow through the planting tube is from the at least one liquid inlet towards the at least one liquid outlet, in an operative upward direction. The water treatment cell also includes a plant suspension arrangement arranged proximate the open end of the planting tube.
