Abstract
실시예는 근접센서와 이를 포함하는 카메라 모듈과 이를 포함하는 이동 단말기에 관한 것으로서, 하우징; 상기 하우징의 내부에 배치되는 기판; 상기 기판에 안착되는 음향 출력부; 상기 하우징의 상부면에 배치되는 디스플레이부; 발광부와 수광부를 포함하고, 상기 음향 출력부의 양측에 상기 발광부와 수광부가 배치되어 상기 디스플레이부에 사용자가 소정의 거리에 근접하고 있음을 감지하는 근접센서와, 상기 근접센서로부터 상기 발광부의 발광량과 상기 수광부의 수광량을 입력받아 상기 디스플레이부를 구동해 주는 제어부를 포함하는 카메라 모듈; 및 상기 디스플레이부에 배치되어 상기 음향 출력부와 상기 근접센서의 상부에 구비되는 덮개부를 포함한다.
Description
실시예는 근접센서와 이를 포함하는 카메라 모듈과 이를 포함하는 이동 단말기에 관한 것으로, 보다 상세하게는 근접센서(proximity sensor)의 발광부와 수광부를 음향 출력부의 양측에 각각 배치시킴으로써 크로스 토크(cross talk)를 방지할 수 있고, 근접센서(proximity sensor)의 발광부와 수광부에서 발광되는 광량과 수광되는 광량을 증가시킬 수 있는 근접센서와 이를 포함하는 카메라 모듈과 이를 포함하는 이동 단말기에 관한 것이다.
휴대 가능한 이동 단말기 중 스마트폰은 휴대전화 기능뿐 아니라, 인터넷 통신과 정보검색 등 컴퓨터 지원 기능을 추가한 장치로서 그것이 갖는 기능 및 편의성에 의해 사용이 비약적으로 늘어났으며 최근에는 일반적으로 사용되고 있다.
그리고, 스마트폰은 휴대전화로 사용하는 것 외에 휴대형 컴퓨터로도 사용할 수 있고, 이동 중 인터넷 통신, 팩스 전송 등이 가능하다.
이러한 스마트폰의 가장 큰 특징은 완제품으로 출시되어 주어진 기능만 사용하던 기존의 휴대전화와는 달리 수백여 종의 다양한 애플리케이션을 사용자가 원하는대로 설치하고 추가 또는 삭제할 수 있다는 점이다.
한편, 스마트폰과 같은 이동 단말기에는 사용자의 손과 같은 신체부위나 특정 사물의 접근을 인식하는 근접센서가 장착된다. 이러한 근접센서는, 적외선을 송신하는 송신부 및 반사되는 적외선을 감지하는 수신부를 구비함으로써 사람 또는 물체 등의 접근을 감지할 수 있다.
부연하면, 종래의 근접센서에는 근접센서부, 적외선 반사 및 난반사 방지를 위한 블랙 띠 인쇄층이 적층되고 그 상부에 커버 글래스가 적층되는 구조를 갖는다. 따라서, 근접센서가 장착되는 투과창 즉 센서 윈도우는 일반적으로 검정색으로 비춰진다.
하지만, 예를 들어 스마트폰이 검정색으로 제조되는 경우 센서 윈도우가 검정색으로 비춰져도 상관 없지만, 흰색 계열을 갖는 스마트폰의 경우 센서 윈도우가 검정색으로 비춰지면 단말기의 색과 상이하여 심미적인 디자인을 구현할 수 없는 한계가 있다.
이에, 커버 글래스의 하부에 배치되는 필름층에 직접 인쇄로 화이트층을 인쇄할 수 있겠으나, 이 경우 빛의 반사 및 난반사가 발생되어 적외선 송수신이 제대로 이루어지지 못함으로써 센서의 감지 정확성이 저하되는 한계가 있다.
상기와 같은 문제점을 해결하기 위하여 한국공개특허 제10-2014-0080256호에는 휴대용 단말기가 개시되어 있고, 휴대용 단말기는 상면에 커버 글래스가 결합되는 단말기 본체와, 단말기 본체 내에 장착되어, 단말기 본체의 외부 상태를 감지하는 센서부와, 센서부 및 커버 글래스의 사이에 장착되며, 단말기 본체의 색상과 동일 계통이 색상으로 표현되는 센서 윈도우를 포함한다. 상술한 바와 같은 종래의 휴대용 단말기에 의하면, 적외선 근접센서의 투과창인 센서 윈도우를 통한 빛의 산란을 이용하여 센서 윈도우를 흰색 계통으로 표현할 수 있으며, 따라서 휴대용 단말기와 같은 휴대용 단말기의 색상이 흰색과 같은 밝은 색을 갖는 경우 휴대용 단말기와 센서 윈도우의 색을 일치시킴으로써 심미감을 향상시킬 수 있다.
하지만, 근접센서의 발광부와 수광부가 서로 인접하여 배치됨에 따라 내부 난반사에 의한 크로스 토크(cross talk)가 발생하는 문제점이 있다.
그리고, 근접센서에 적층되는 센서 윈도우에 의해 근접센서의 발광부와 수광부에서 발광 및 수광되는 광량이 감소되는 문제점이 있다.
실시예는 상기와 같은 문제점을 해결하기 위해서 안출된 것으로, 음향 출력부의 양측에 근접센서의 발광부와 수광부를 각각 배치시킬 수 있는 구조를 가진 근접센서와 이를 포함하는 카메라 모듈과 이를 포함하는 이동 단말기를 제공하고자 한다.
또한, 근접센서의 발광부의 광원과 수광부로 입사되는 빛이 음향 출력부의 덮개부를 투과할 수 있는 구조를 가진 근접센서와 이를 포함하는 카메라 모듈과 이를 포함하는 이동 단말기를 제공하고자 한다.
상기와 같은 목적을 달성하기 위하여, 실시예는 기판; 상기 기판에 서로 이격되어 배치되는 발광부와 수광부; 상기 발광부와 수광부 사이에 배치되는 간격유지부; 상기 발광부에서 발광하는 빛을 굴절시키는 제1 반사면과 상기 수광부로 입사되는 빛을 굴절시키는 제2 반사면을 포함하는 반사부; 및 상기 발광부와 수광부 및 상기 간격유지부의 상부에 배치되는 덮개부를 포함하는 근접센서를 제공한다.
실시예에서, 상기 발광부는 상기 발광부를 지지하는 제1 몸체; 상기 제1 몸체의 일측면에 배치되는 상기 제1 반사면과 마주보며 구비되는 적외선 발광다이오드(Infrared Emitting Diode); 및 상기 제1 몸체의 상단면에 구비되는 제1 홀에 배치되는 제1 렌즈를 포함할 수 있다.
그리고, 상기 제1 몸체와 상기 제1 반사면의 하단면 사이에 몰딩재가 배치될 수 있다.
또한, 상기 기판과 상기 적외선 발광다이오드 사이에 제1 와이어가 배치되어 상기 기판과 상기 적외선 발광다이오드가 전기적으로 연결되고, 상기 제1 와이어는 투광성 수지로 코팅될 수 있다.
그리고, 상기 수광부는 상기 수광부를 지지하는 제2 몸체; 상기 제2 몸체의 일측에 배치되는 상기 제2 반사면과 마주보며 구비되는 포토다이오드(Photodiode); 및 상기 제2 몸체의 상단면에 구비되는 제2 홀에 배치되는 제2 렌즈를 포함할 수 있다.
또한, 상기 제2 몸체와 상기 제2 반사면의 하단면 사이에 몰딩재가 배치될 수 있다.
그리고, 상기 기판과 상기 포토다이오드 사이에 제2 와이어가 배치되어 상기 기판과 상기 포토다이오드가 전기적으로 연결되고, 상기 제2 와이어는 투광성 수지로 코팅될 수 있다.
또한, 상기 제1 반사면과 상기 제2 반사면은 상기 기판에 대하여 35° 내지 50°의 경사도를 가질 수 있다.
아울러, 상기 제1 반사면과 상기 제2 반사면은 아크릴 또는 폴리카보네이트 중 적어도 하나 이상을 포함할 수 있다.
상기와 같은 목적을 달성하기 위하여, 다른 실시예는 디스플레이부; 상기 디스플레이부에 사용자가 소정의 거리에 근접하고 있음을 감지하는 근접센서; 상기 근접센서와 인접하여 배치되는 촬영 렌즈; 및 상기 근접센서로부터 상기 발광부의 발광량과 상기 수광부의 수광량을 입력받아 상기 디스플레이부를 구동해 주는 제어부를 포함하는 근접센서를 구비한 카메라 모듈을 제공한다.
실시예에서, 상기 제어부는 근접센서에 의해 상기 사용자가 상기 디스플레이부에 대해 소정의 거리까지 근접하고 있음이 감지되지 않는 경우, 상기 디스플레이부를 사용 상태로 하고, 상기 근접센서에 의해 상기 사용자가 상기 디스플레이부에 대해 소정의 거리까지 근접하고 있음이 감지되는 경우, 상기 디스플레이부를 비사용 상태로 제어할 수 있다.
그리고, 상기 카메라 모듈은 상기 디스플레이부의 사용 상태와 상기 디스플레이부의 비사용 상태를 입력하는 입력부를 더 포함하고, 상기 제어부가 상기 입력부에 대한 입력에 따라 상기 디스플레이부를 상기 사용 상태와 상기 비사용 상태로 전환할 수 있다.
상기와 같은 목적을 달성하기 위하여, 또 다른 실시예에서는 하우징; 상기 하우징의 내부에 배치되는 기판; 상기 기판에 안착되는 음향 출력부; 상기 하우징의 상부면에 배치되는 디스플레이부; 발광부와 수광부를 포함하고, 상기 음향 출력부의 양측에 상기 발광부와 수광부가 배치되어 상기 디스플레이부에 사용자가 소정의 거리에 근접하고 있음을 감지하는 근접센서와, 상기 근접센서로부터 상기 발광부의 발광량과 상기 수광부의 수광량을 입력받아 상기 디스플레이부를 구동해 주는 제어부를 포함하는 카메라 모듈; 및 상기 디스플레이부에 배치되어 상기 음향 출력부와 상기 근접센서의 상부에 구비되는 덮개부를 포함하는 이동 단말기를 제공한다.
실시예에서, 상기 발광부는 상기 발광부를 지지하는 제1 몸체; 상기 제1 몸체 내부의 하단면에 배치되는 적외선 발광다이오드(Infrared Emitting Diode); 및 상기 제1 몸체의 상단면에 구비되는 제1 홀에 배치되는 제1 렌즈를 포함할 수 있다.
그리고, 상기 수광부는 상기 수광부를 지지하는 제2 몸체; 상기 제2 몸체 내부의 하단면에 배치되는 포토다이오드(Photodiode); 및 상기 제2 몸체의 상단면에구비되는 제2 홀에 배치되는 제2 렌즈를 포함할 수 있다.
한편, 상기 근접센서는 상기 발광부에서 발광하는 빛을 굴절시키는 제1 반사면과 상기 수광부로 입사되는 빛을 굴절시키는 제2 반사면을 포함할 수 있다.
또한, 상기 발광부는 상기 발광부를 지지하는 제1 몸체; 상기 제1 몸체의 일측면에 배치되는 상기 제1 반사면과 마주보며 구비되는 적외선 발광다이오드(Infrared Emitting Diode); 및 상기 제1 몸체의 상단면에 구비되는 제1 홀에 배치되는 제1 렌즈를 포함할 수 있다.
그리고, 상기 수광부는 상기 수광부를 지지하는 제2 몸체; 상기 제2 몸체의 일측에 배치되는 상기 제2 반사면과 마주보며 구비되는 포토다이오드(Photodiode); 및 상기 제2 몸체의 상단면에 구비되는 제2 홀에 배치되는 제2 렌즈를 포함할 수 있다.
그리고, 상기 덮개부는 상기 음향 출력부와 상기 근접센서가 배치된 길이방향으로 대응하여 구비될 수 있다.
또한, 상기 덮개부는 격자홀로 구비될 수 있다.
상술한 바와 같은 실시예에 의하면, 음향 출력부의 양측에 근접센서의 발광부와 수광부를 이격시켜 각각 배치함으로써, 크로스 토크(cross talk)를 방지할 수 있다.
또한, 근접센서의 발광부의 광원과 수광부로 입사되는 빛이 음향 출력부의 덮개부를 투과하도록 하여 근접센서의 발광량 및 수광량을 증가시킴으로써, 근접센서의 성능을 향상시킬 수 있다.

이하 상기의 목적을 구체적으로 실현할 수 있는 본 발명의 바람직한 실시예를 첨부한 도면을 참조하여 설명하면 다음과 같다.
도 1은 일실시예에 따른 근접센서의 구조를 나타내는 단면도이다.
도 1을 참조하면, 본 실시예에 따른 근접센서(100)는 기판(110), 발광부(120), 수광부(130), 간격유지부(140), 반사부(150), 덮개부(160)를 포함하여 이루어진다.
근접센서(100)는 외부 물체로부터 반사되는 빛을 통해 외부 물체의 근접 여부를 감지할 수 있도록 발광부(120)와 수광부(130)로 구비되는데, 발광부(120)는 외부 물체의 근접 여부를 감지하기 위하여 빛을 방사하고, 수광부(130)는 발광부(120)에서 방사한 빛이 외부 물체로부터 반사되는 빛을 받아들임으로써 외부 물체의 근접 여부를 감지할 수 있다.
또한, 근접센서(100)는 적외선을 사용하여 외부 물체가 기설정된 거리보다 가까이 근접하는지 여부를 감지하는 적외선 센서(Infrared Sensor)가 사용될 수 있다. 여기서, 근접센서(100)의 발광부(120)는 적외선을 방사하는 적외선 발광다이오드(Infrared Emitting Diode)가 구비될 수 있고, 수광부(130)는 빛에너지를 전기 에너지로 변환해 주는 포토다이오드(Photodiode)가 구비될 수 있다.
기판(110)은 표면 실장 기술(Surface Mounting Technology : SMT) 공정이 가능하도록 패턴이 인쇄된 연성인쇄회로기판(FPCB : Flexible Printed Circuit Boards)으로 구비될 수 있다.
그리고, 기판(110)에 발광부(120)와 수광부(130)가 서로 이격되어 배치될 수 있는데, 발광부(120)와 수광부(130) 사이에는 간격유지부(140)가 배치될 수 있다. 또한, 반사부(150)가 발광부(120)와 수광부(130)에 구비될 수 있는데, 반사부(150)는 발광부(120)에서 발광하는 빛이 후술한 덮개부(160)를 향하여 굴절되도록 발광부(120)에 배치되는 제1 반사면(151)과, 덮개부(160)를 투과한 빛이 수광부(130)로 입사되도록 굴절시키는수광부(130)에 배치되는 제2 반사면(152)을 포함할 수 있다.
발광부(120)는 발광부(120)를 지지하는 제1 몸체(121), 적외선 발광다이오드(Infrared Emitting Diode)(125), 제1 렌즈(121b)를 포함할 수 있다.
그리고, 제1 몸체(121)의 일부에는 몰딩재(155)가 채워지는데, 제1 몸체(121)와 제1 반사면(151)의 하단면 사이에 몰딩재(155)가 배치될 수 있다. 그리고, 몰딩재(155)는 제1 반사면(151)을 지지하며 배치될 수 있고, 경사면을 이루며 제1 몸체(121) 내부에 채워질 수 있다. 여기서, 제1 반사면(151)은 상기 경사면을 따라 구비될 수 있다. 이와 같이 제1 몸체(121)의 일측면에 배치되는 제1 반사면(151)과 마주보며 제1 몸체(121)의 내측면에 적외선 발광다이오드(125)가 다이 본딩(die bonding)될 수 있다.
또한, 적외선 발광다이오드(125)가 배치되는 제1 몸체(121)의 내측면에는 기판(110)이 연장되어 구비되므로 기판(110)과 적외선 발광다이오드(125)가 전기적으로 연결될 수 있다.
아울러, 제1 몸체(121)의 상단면에는 제1 홀(121a)이 구비되고, 빛의 방출각을 제어할 수 있는 제1 렌즈(121b)가 제1 홀(121a)에 삽입될 수 있다.
수광부(130)는 수광부(130)를 지지하는 제2 몸체(132), 포토다이오드(Photodiode)(135), 제2 렌즈(132b)를 포함할 수 있다.
그리고, 제2 몸체(132)의 일부에는 몰딩재(155)가 채워지는데, 제2 몸체(132)와 제2 반사면(152)의 하단면 사이에 몰딩재(155)가 배치될 수 있다. 그리고, 몰딩재(155)는 제2 반사면(152)을 지지하며 배치될 수 있고, 경사면을 이루며 제2 몸체(132) 내부에 채워질 수 있다.. 여기서, 제2 반사면(152)은 상기 경사면을 따라 구비될 수 있다. 이와 같이 제2 몸체(132)의 일측면에 배치되는 제2 반사면(152)과 마주보며 제2 몸체(132)의 내측면에 포토다이오드(135)가 다이 본딩(die bonding)될 수 있다.
또한, 포토다이오드(135)가 배치되는 제2 몸체(132)의 내측면에는 기판(110)이 연장되어 구비되므로 기판(110)과 포토다이오드(135)가 전기적으로 연결될 수 있다.
아울러, 제2 몸체(132)의 상단면에는 제2 홀(132a)이 구비되고, 빛의 입사각을 제어할 수 있는 제2 렌즈(132b)가 제2 홀(132a)에 삽입될 수 있다.
한편, 발광부(120)와 수광부(130)에 각각 실장된 적외선 발광다이오드(125) 및 포토다이오드(135)가 각각 기판(110)에 전기적으로 연결될 수 있도록 기판(110)과 적외선 발광다이오드(125) 사이에 제1 와이어(도시되지 않음)가 배치될 수 있고, 기판(110)과 포토다이오드(135) 사이에 제2 와이어(도시되지 않음)가 배치될 수 있다. 그리고, 발광부로부터 발생하는 열이나 주변의 빛으로부터 제1 및 제2 와이어를 보호하기 위해, 제1 및 제2 와이어는 내열성과 내광성이 좋은 투광성 수지로 코팅될 수 있다.
아울러, 제1 반사면(151)은 제1 몸체(121)의 측면에 배치되는 적외선 발광다이오드(125)로부터의 빛을 발광부(120)의 상부로 모아줌과 동시에 광의 지향각을 조절해 줄 수 있다. 또한, 제2 반사면(152)은 제2 몸체(132)의 측면에 배치되는 포토다이오드(135)로 빛을 모아줌과 동시에 지향각을 조절해 줄 수 있다.
상술한 바와 같이, 적외선 발광다이오드(125) 및 포토다이오드(135)에 방사 및 입사되는 광량을 증가시키기 위해 제1 반사면(151)과 제2 반사면(152)은 기판(110)에 대하여 35° 내지 50°의 경사도를 가질 수 있다. 하지만, 제1 몸체(121)와 제2 몸체(132)의 형태 및 크기와 적외선 발광다이오드(125) 및 포토다이오드(135)가 배치되는 위치에 따라 제1 반사면(151)과 제2 반사면(152)의 경사도는 다르게 구비될 수 있다.
그리고, 제1 반사면(151)과 제2 반사면(152)은 아크릴 또는 폴리카보네이트 중 적어도 하나 이상을 포함할 수 있으나, 빛을 반사시킬 수 있는 재질이라면 금(Au) 같은 반사성 금속, 강화유리 등과 같은 재질로 구비되어도 무방하다.
종래의 근접센서는 기판, 발광부, 수광부, 격리부, 덮개부를 포함하여 이루어지고, 발광부는 적외선 발광다이오드와 제1 렌즈를 포함하고, 수광부는 포토다이오드와 제2 렌즈를 포함할 수 있다.
그리고, 기판에는 발광부와 수광부가 각각 배치되는데, 발광부와 수광부의 가장자리에는 제1 렌즈와 제2 렌즈에 대응하는 홀이 형성된 격리부가 구비된다.
또한, 격리부의 상부에는 투명한 재질의 덮개부가 배치되고, 덮개부의 하단면에는 근접센서가 외부에서 보이지 않도록 검정색의 코팅층이 더 구비된다.
상술한 바와 같은, 종래의 근접센서에서 발광부와 수광부가 인접하여 배치되는 구조에 의하면 적외선 발광다이오드에서 방사되는 빛의 일부가 내부 난반사로 인해 포토다이오드의 영역으로 침투하게 된다. 이에 의해 외부 물체의 근접으로 인식되는 오류 신호가 발생하게 됨으로써, 근접센서가 오작동을 일으킬 수 있게 된다. 그리고, 근접센서의 내부가 보이지 않도록 검정색으로 코팅된 코팅층으로 인해 발광부와 수광부에서 발광 및 수광되는 광량이 감소되는 문제점이 있다.
도 1에 도시된 바와 같이, 실시예에 따른 근접센서에는 발광부(120)와 수광부(130)가 일정거리를 간격을 두고 이격되어 배치될 수 있도록 발광부(120)와 수광부(130) 사이에 간격유지부(140)가 구비되며, 이에 따라 발광부(120)로부터의 빛이 수광부(130)로 직접 입사되는 것을 최소화하거나 차폐할 수 있게 된다.
여기서, 간격유지부(140)의 너비는 발광부(120)로부터의 빛이 내부 난반사로 인하여 수광부(130)로 직접 입사되지 않을 수 있도록 발광부(120)와 수광부(130) 사이의 간격이 유지될 수 있는 너비로 구비될 수 있다.
또한, 덮개부(160)가 발광부(120)와 수광부(130) 및 간격유지부(140)의 상부에 배치될 수 있다. 그리고, 덮개부(160)는 격자홀(161)을 포함하여 발광부(120)에서 방사되는 빛과 수광부(130)로 입사되는 빛이 격자홀(161) 사이를 직접 투과할 수 있게 된다. 이에 따라, 발광부(120)에서 방사되고, 수광부(130)에서 수광되는 광량을 종래의 근접센서에서보다 증가시킬 수 있다.
도 2는 실시예에 따른 이동 단말기의 블럭 구성도이다.
도 2를 참조하면, 이동 단말기(200)는 전원 관리부(210), 무선 통신부(220), 센싱부(230), A/V(Audio/Video) 입력부(240), 음향 출력부(250), 디스플레이부(260), 메모리(270), 사용자 입력부(280), 어플리케이션 프로세서(Application Processor : AP)(290), 인터페이스부(295)를 포함할 수 있다.
상기 구성요소들이 필수적인 것은 아니며, 그보다 많은 구성요소들을 갖거나 그보다 적은 구성요소들을 갖는 이동 단말기가 구현될 수도 있다. 이하, 상기 구성요소들에 대해 보다 상세히 설명하면 다음과 같다.
전원 관리부(210)는 배터리(211) 또는 외부 전원으로부터 내부 전원을 생성한다. 이와 같은 내부 전원은 이동 단말기(200)의 각 블록에 부여된다. 이 때, 전원 관리부(210)는 후술할 어플리케이션 프로세서(Application Processor : AP)(290)의 지시에 기초하여 각 블록에 공급하는 내부 전원을 제어한다. 또한, 전원 관리부(210)는 외부에서 전원이 공급되는 경우, 배터리(211)에 대한 충전도 제어한다.
또한, 배터리(211)는 전지로서, 이동 단말기(200)가 외부 전원에 따르지 않고 동작하는 경우에 이용된다. 그리고, 이동 단말기(200)는 외부 전원이 연결되어 있는 경우에도 배터리(109)의 전원을 이용할 수 있으며, 배터리(211)에는 2차 전지가 이용될 수 있다.
그리고, 무선 통신부(220)는 이동 단말기(200)와 무선 통신 시스템 사이 또는 이동 단말기(200)와 이동 단말기(200)가 위치한 네트워크 사이의 무선 통신을 가능하게 하는 하나 이상의 모듈을 포함할 수 있다. 예를 들어, 무선 통신부(220)는 방송 수신 모듈(221), 이동 통신 모듈(222), 무선 인터넷 모듈(223), 근거리 통신 모듈(224), 위치 정보 모듈(225)을 포함할 수 있다.
또한, 방송 수신 모듈(221)은 방송 채널을 통하여 외부의 방송 관리 서버로부터 방송 신호 및/또는 방송 관련된 정보를 수신한다. 여기서, 방송 채널은 위성 채널, 지상파 채널을 포함할 수 있다. 그리고, 방송 관리 서버는, 방송 신호 및/또는 방송 관련 정보를 생성하여 송신하는 서버 또는 기 생성된 방송 신호 및/또는 방송 관련 정보를 제공받아 단말기에 송신하는 서버를 의미할 수 있다. 아울러, 방송 신호는, TV 방송 신호, 라디오 방송 신호, 데이터 방송 신호를 포함할 뿐만 아니라, TV 방송 신호 또는 라디오 방송 신호에 데이터 방송 신호가 결합한 형태의 방송 신호도 포함할 수 있다. 또한, 방송 관련 정보는 방송 채널, 방송 프로그램 또는 방송 서비스 제공자에 관련한 정보를 의미할 수 있다.
한편, 방송 관련 정보는 이동통신망을 통하여도 제공될 수 있다. 이러한 경우에는 이동 통신 모듈(222)에 의해 수신될 수 있다. 그리고, 방송 관련 정보는 다양한 형태로 존재할 수 있다. 예를 들어, DMB(Digital Multimedia Broadcasting)의 EPG(Electronic Program Guide) 또는 DVB-H(Digital Video Broadcast-Handheld)의 ESG(Electronic Service Guide) 등의 형태로 존재할 수 있다.
그리고, 방송 수신 모듈(221)은, 예를 들어, DMB-T(Digital Multimedia Broadcasting-Terrestrial), DMBS(Digital Multimedia Broadcasting-Satellite), Media FLO(Media Forward Link Only), DVB-H(Digital Video Broadcast-Handheld), ISDB-T(Integrated Services Digital Broadcast-Terrestrial) 등의 디지털 방송 시스템을 이용하여 디지털 방송 신호를 수신할 수 있다. 물론, 방송 수신 모듈(221)은 상술한 디지털 방송 시스템뿐만 아니라 다른 방송 시스템에 적합하도록 구성될 수도 있다.
또한, 방송 수신 모듈(221)을 통해 수신된 방송 신호 및/또는 방송 관련 정보는 메모리(270)에 저장될 수 있다.
한편, 이동 통신 모듈(222)은 이동 통신망 상에서 기지국, 외부의 단말, 서버 중 적어도 하나와 무선 신호를 송수신한다. 여기서, 무선 신호는, 음성 호 신호, 화상 통화 호 신호 또는 문자/멀티미디어 메시지 송수신에 따른 다양한 형태의 데이터를 포함할 수 있다.
또한, 무선 인터넷 모듈(223)은 무선 인터넷 접속을 위한 모듈을 말하는 것으로, 이동 단말기(200)에 내장되거나 외장될 수 있다. 무선 인터넷 기술로는 WLAN(Wireless LAN)(Wi-Fi), Wibro(Wireless broadband), Wimax(World Interoperability for Microwave Access), HSDPA(High Speed Downlink Packet Access) 등이 이용될 수 있다.
그리고, 근거리 통신 모듈(224)은 근거리 통신을 위한 모듈을 말한다. 근거리 통신(short range communication) 기술로 블루투스(Bluetooth), RFID(Radio Frequency Identification), 적외선 통신(IrDA, infrared Data Association), UWB(Ultra Wideband), ZigBee 등이 이용될 수 있다.
아울러, 위치 정보 모듈(225)은 이동 단말기의 위치를 획득하기 위한 모듈로서, 그의 대표적인 예로는 GPS(Global Positioning System) 모듈이 있다.
그리고, 무선 통신부(220)는 안테나(226)가 구비되어 이동 단말기와 무선 통신 시스템 사이 또는 이동 단말기와 이동 단말기가 위치한 네트워크 사이의 수신 신호를 수신하고, 송신 신호를 외부로 송신할 수 있다.
센싱부(230)는 이동 단말기(200)의 개폐 상태, 이동 단말기(200)의 위치, 사용자 접촉 유무, 이동 단말기의 방위, 이동 단말기의 가속/감속 등과 같이 이동 단말기(200)의 현 상태를 감지하여 이동 단말기(200)의 동작을 제어하기 위한 센싱 신호를 발생시킨다. 예를 들어, 이동 단말기(200)가 슬라이드 폰 형태인 경우 슬라이드 폰의 개폐 여부를 센싱할 수 있다. 또한, 전원 관리부(190)의 전원 공급 여부, 인터페이스부(295)의 외부 기기 결합 여부 등을 센싱할 수도 있다. 한편, 센싱부(230)는 근접센서(231), ToF(Time of Flight) 센서, 홍채 인식 센서, 온도 센서, GPS(Global Positioning System) 센서 등이 포함될 수 있다.
그리고, A/V(Audio/Video) 입력부(240)는 오디오 신호 또는 비디오 신호 입력을 위한 것으로, 카메라 모듈(241)과 마이크(242)가 포함될 수 있다. 또한, 카메라 모듈(241)은 화상 통화모드 또는 촬영 모드에서 이미지 센서에 의해 얻어지는 정지영상 또는 동영상 등의 화상 프레임을 처리한다. 처리된 화상 프레임은 디스플레이부(260)에 표시될 수 있다. 그리고, 카메라 모듈(241)에서 처리된 화상 프레임은 메모리(270)에 저장되거나 무선 통신부(220)를 통하여 외부로 전송될 수 있다.
아울러, 마이크(242)는 통화모드 또는 녹음모드, 음성인식 모드 등에서 마이크로폰(Microphone)에 의해 외부의 음향 신호를 입력 받아 전기적인 음성 데이터로 처리한다. 처리된 음성 데이터는 통화 모드인 경우 이동 통신 모듈(222)을 통하여 이동통신 기지국으로 송신 가능한 형태로 변환되어 출력될 수 있다.
음향 출력부(250)는 통화음을 사용자의 귀에 전달시키는 리시버(receiver) 또는 각종 알람음이나 멀티미디어의 재생음을 출력하는 스피커(151)의 형태로 구현될 수 있다.
그리고, 디스플레이부(260)는 이동 단말기(200)에서 처리되는 정보를 출력한다. 예를 들어, 이동 단말기가 통화 모드인 경우 통화와 관련된 UI(User Interface) 또는 GUI(Graphic User Interface)를 표시한다. 또한, 이동 단말기(200)가 화상 통화 모드 또는 촬영 모드인 경우에는 촬영 또는/및 수신된 영상 또는 UI, GUI를 표시한다.
디스플레이부(260)는 유기 EL 디스플레이(Organic Electro Luminescence Display), 액정 디스플레이(Liquid Crystal Display : LCD), 박막 트랜지스터 액정 디스플레이(Thin Film Transistor-Liquid Crystal Display, TFT LCD), 유기 발광 다이오드(Organic Light-Emitting Diode, OLED), 플렉시블 디스플레이(flexible display), 3차원 디스플레이(3D display) 중에서 적어도 하나를 포함할 수 있다.
실시예에서 디스플레이부(260)는 유기 EL 디스플레이(261)로 구비될 수 있으며, 유기 EL 디스플레이(261)는 유기 EL 디스플레이(261)은 투과형 유기 EL 디스플레이(투명 유기 EL 디스플레이)일 수 있다. 즉, 유기 EL 디스플레이(261)을 사용하는 경우, 점등 시에는 유기 EL 디스플레이(261)에 화상이 표시되고, 유기 EL 디스플레이(261)을 사용하지 않는 경우, 소등 시에는 유기 EL 디스플레이(261)을 통해 하우징(101)의 내부가 보일 수 있다. 여기서, 유기 EL 디스플레이(261)은 완전한 투명부로 한정되는 것은 아니며, 반투명부일 수도 있다.
터치 패널(245)은, 유기 EL 디스플레이(261)의 표시면을 덮도록 전면부에 배치되거나 유기 EL 디스플레이(261)의 이면부에 배치된다. 사용자의 손가락 또는 사용자가 조작하는 전용 조작 펜(스타일러스) 등이 유기 EL 디스플레이(261)의 터치 영역 내에 접촉됨으로써, 이동 단말기(200)를 직관적으로 조작할 수 있다.
디스플레이부(260)와 터치 동작을 감지하는 센서(이하, '터치 센서'라 함)가 상호 레이어 구조를 이루는 경우(이하, '터치 스크린'이라 함)에, 디스플레이부(260)는 출력 장치 이외에 입력 장치로도 사용될 수 있다. 그리고, 터치 센서는 터치 필름, 터치 시트, 터치 패드 등의 형태를 가질 수 있다.
터치 센서는 디스플레이부(260)의 특정 부위에 가해진 압력 또는 디스플레이부(260)의 특정 부위에 발생하는 정전 용량 등의 변화를 전기적인 입력신호로 변환하도록 구성될 수 있다. 터치 센서는 터치되는 위치 및 면적뿐만 아니라, 터치 시의 압력까지도 검출할 수 있도록 구성될 수 있다. 그리고, 터치 센서에 대한 터치 입력이 있는 경우, 그에 대응하는 신호는 터치 제어기로 보내진다. 터치 제어기는 그 신호를 처리한 다음 대응하는 데이터를 어플리케이션 프로세서(290)로 전송한다. 이로써, 어플리케이션 프로세서(290)는 디스플레이부(260)의 어느 영역이 터치 되었는지 여부 등을 알 수 있게 된다.
또한, 이동 단말기의 내부 영역 또는 터치 스크린의 근처에 근접센서(231)가 배치될 수 있다. 근접센서는 소정의 검출면에 접근하는 물체, 혹은 근방에 존재하는 물체의 유무를 전자계의 힘 또는 적외선을 이용하여 기계적 접촉이 없이 검출하는 센서를 말한다.
근접센서의 예로는 투과형 광전 센서, 직접 반사형 광전 센서, 미러 반사형 광전 센서, 고주파 발진형 근접센서, 정전용량형 근접센서, 자기형 근접센서, 적외선 근접센서 등이 있다. 그리고, 터치 스크린이 정전식인 경우에는 포인터의 근접에 따른 전계의 변화로 포인터의 근접을 검출하도록 구성된다. 이 경우 터치 스크린(터치 센서)은 근접센서로 분류될 수도 있다.
이하에서는 설명의 편의를 위해, 터치 스크린 상에 포인터가 접촉되지 않으면서 근접되어 포인터가 터치스크린 상에 위치함이 인식되도록 하는 행위를 "근접 터치(proximity touch)"라고 칭하고, 터치 스크린 상에 포인터가 실제로 접촉되는 행위를 "접촉 터치(contact touch)"라고 칭한다. 터치 스크린 상에서 포인터로 근접 터치가 되는 위치라 함은, 포인터가 근접 터치될 때 포인터가 터치스크린에 대해 수직으로 대응되는 위치를 의미한다.
근접센서는, 근접 터치와, 근접 터치 패턴(예를 들어, 근접 터치 거리, 근접 터치 방향, 근접 터치 속도, 근접 터치 시간, 근접 터치 위치, 근접 터치 이동 상태 등)을 감지한다. 감지된 근접 터치 동작 및 근접 터치 패턴에 상응하는 정보는 터치 스크린 상에 출력될 수 있다.
센싱부(230)는 ToF(Time of Flight) 센서나 홍채 인식 센서로 구비될 수도 있다.
ToF(Time of Flight) 센서는 빛을 출사하여 그 빛이 반사되어 오는 시간을 측정하여 거리를 계산할 수 있는 센서이다. 그리고, ToF(Time of Flight) 센서는 광원, 센싱유닛, 제어부를 포함할 수 있다.
광원은 피사체들에 빛을 조사한다. 예를 들어, 광원은 LED 등의 고속 변조가 가능한 디바이스를 이용할 수 있다. 광원에서 조사되는 빛은 예컨대, 20MHz 정도의 고주파 펄스 모양으로 변조하는 변조광일 수 있다. 광원에서 조사되는 빛은 계속적으로 조사될 수 있다.
광원은 제어부로부터 광원 제어 신호(Light Source Control Signal, LSCS)를 수신하여 빛을 조사할 수 있다. 조사된 광은 피사체들에 의하여 반사된다.
센싱유닛은 피사체들에서 반사되는 빛을 감지하여 전기신호인 거리 데이터 신호(Distance Data Signal, DDS)를 생성할 수 있다. 구체적으로, 센싱유닛은 빛이 광원에서 방출된 시각과 빛이 물체에 반사되어 검출된 시각의 차이 값으로 거리 데이터 신호(DDS)를 구할 수 있다.
센싱유닛은 제어부에 거리 데이터 신호(DDS)를 전달하고, 화각 제어 신호(View Angle Control Signal, VACS)를 수신할 수 있다. 센싱유닛은 화각 제어 신호(VACS)에 따라서 화각(View Angle)을 조절한다.
제어부는 센싱유닛으로부터 거리 데이터 신호(DDS)를 수신하여, 화각 제어 신호(VACS)를 생성할 수 있다. 제어부는 화각 제어 회로를 포함할 수 있다. 화각 제어 회로는 거리 데이터 신호(DDS)를 처리하여 화각 제어 신호(VACS)를 생성할 수 있다.
홍채 인식 센서는 사용자의 홍채 정보를 읽은 뒤 이를 전기적인 신호로 변환하여 출력하는 홍채 정보 인식수단, 미리 입력된 정당한 사용자의 홍채 정보를 기억하고 있는 메모리, 인식 수단에서 얻은 사용자의 홍채 정보와 메모리에 저장된 홍채 정보가 서로 일치하는지를 비교하고, 그 결과에 따라 휴대폰의 사용을 결정하는 제어수단을 포함할 수 있다.
여기서, 홍채 정보 인식수단은 다시, 사용자의 홍채를 디지털 영상 정보로 생성하기 위한 카메라 모듈, 카메라 모듈에서 생성된 영상이 홍채 정보 추출에 적당한 품질인지를 판단하고, 상기 영상에서 홍채 부분의 영상만을 추출하는 홍채추출수단, 상기 홍채 영상을 웨이블릿 변환하여 홍채 특징 코드를 생성하는 디지털신호처리기를 포함할 수 있다.
카메라 모듈은 이동 단말기에 장착되는 소형 카메라로서 홍채인식에 충분한 품질의 영상을 얻기 위해서 통상의 소형 카메라와는 달리 근거리 줌인(zoom in) 기능을 가지고 있어야 한다. 카메라 모듈에 의해 찍힌 영상은 홍채뿐만 아니라 눈 주위의 전체 형상을 모두 포함하고 있기 때문에, 홍채추출수단은 카메라 모듈에서 찍은 영상에서 홍채 부분만을 분리하여야 한다. 이를 위해 홍채추출수단은 먼저, 홍채 인식에 적합한 품질의 눈 영상을 획득하였는지 검사한다. 만약, 영상의 품질이 충분하지 않다면 이를 제어수단에 알려 사용자에게 다시 시도할 것을 지시한다. 영상의 품질이 충분하다면, 눈 주위의 전체 영상으로부터 홍채 영역만을 추출하고, 추출된 홍채 영역의 영상으로부터 홍채 패턴의 gray 값의 변화를 조사하여 홍채의 특징을 추출한다. 이렇게 획득된 홍채의 특징은 디지털 신호처리기(Digital Signal Processor; DSP)로 전달된다. 그러면, DSP는 상기 홍채 특징에 대한 웨이블릿 변환을 실시하여 고유의 특징 코드를 생성한다.
이렇게 생성된 특징 코드는 제어수단으로 전달되고, 제어수단은 홍채 특징 코드를 비교할 수 있다. DSP로부터 특징 코드를 전달받은 제어수단은 메모리에 저장되어 있는 특징 코드와 비교한다. 메모리에 저장되어 있는 특징 코드는 정당한 사용자가 홍채인식을 통해 사전에 입력한 것이다. 여기서, 메모리는 EEPROM(electrically erasable programmable read-only memory) 등으로 구비될 수 있다.
메모리(270)는 어플리케이션 프로세서(290)의 동작을 위한 프로그램을 저장할 수 있고, 입력 또는 출력되는 데이터들, 예를 들어, 폰북, 메시지, 정지영상, 동영상 등을 임시 저장할 수도 있다. 메모리(270)는 터치 스크린 상의 터치 입력시 출력되는 다양한 패턴의 진동 및 음향에 관한 데이터를 저장할 수 있다.
또한, 메모리(270)는 플래시 메모리 타입(flash memory type), 하드디스크 타입(hard disk type), 멀티미디어 카드 마이크로 타입(multimedia card micro type), 카드 타입의 메모리(예를 들어 SD 또는 XD 메모리 등), 램(Random Access Memory, RAM), SRAM(Static Random Access Memory), 롬(Read-Only Memory, ROM), EEPROM(Electrically Erasable Programmable Read-Only Memory), PROM(Programmable Read-Only Memory), 자기 메모리, 자기 디스크, 광디스크 중 적어도 하나의 타입의 저장매체를 포함할 수 있다. 그리고, 이동 단말기(200)는 인터넷(internet)상에서 메모리(270)의 저장 기능을 수행하는 웹 스토리지(web storage)와 관련되어 동작할 수도 있다.
한편, 사용자 입력부(280)는 사용자가 단말기의 동작 제어를 위한 입력 데이터를 발생시킨다. 그리고, 사용자 입력부(280)는 키 패드(key pad), 돔 스위치 (dome switch), 터치 패드(정압/정전), 조그 휠, 조그 스위치 등으로 구비될 수 있다.
어플리케이션 프로세서(Application Processor : AP)(290)는 일반적으로 여러 가지 주변 회로가 하나의 패키지로 통합된 SoC(System On a Chip) 디바이스로써, 통상적으로 이동 단말기의 전반적인 동작을 제어한다. 예를 들어 음성 통화, 데이터 통신, 화상 통화 등을 위한 관련된 제어 및 처리를 수행한다. 어플리케이션 프로세서(290)는 멀티 미디어 재생을 위한 멀티미디어 모듈을 구비할 수도 있다. 멀티미디어 모듈은 어플리케이션 프로세서(290) 내에 구현될 수도 있고, 어플리케이션 프로세서(290)와 별도로 구현될 수도 있다.
또한, 어플리케이션 프로세서(290)는 상기 터치 스크린 상에서 행해지는 필기 입력 또는 그림 그리기 입력을 각각 문자 및 이미지로 인식할 수 있는 패턴 인식 처리를 행할 수 있다.
그리고, 통신 관련 디바이스나 카메라 모듈(241), 터치 패널(245) 등의 주변 기기를 연결하기 위한 인터페이스 등의 많은 인터페이스 회로가 포함된다.
그리고, 어플리케이션 프로세서(290)는 메모리(270)에 저장된 프로그램을 판독하여 이동 단말기의 각종 기능을 실현하기 위한 프로세스를 수행한다. 예를 들어, 어플리케이션 프로세서(290)는 메모리(270)로부터 OS(Operating System) 프로그램을 판독하여 실행함과 동시에, 상술한 OS 프로그램을 동작 기반으로 하는 어플리케이션 프로그램을 실행한다. 또한, 어플리케이션 프로세서(290)는 어플리케이션 프로세서(290)에 적용되는 프로그램에 따라 각종 프로세스를 실행할 수 있다.
인터페이스부(295)는 이동 단말기(200)에 연결되는 모든 외부기기와의 통로 역할을 한다. 인터페이스부(295)는 외부 기기로부터 데이터를 전송 받거나, 전원을 공급받아 이동 단말기(200) 내부의 각 구성 요소에 전달하거나, 이동 단말기(200) 내부의 데이터가 외부 기기로 전송되도록 한다. 예를 들어, 유/무선 헤드셋 포트, 외부 충전기 포트, 유/무선 데이터 포트, 메모리 카드(memory card) 포트, 식별 모듈이 구비된 장치를 연결하는 포트, 오디오 I/O(Input/Output) 포트, 비디오 I/O(Input/Output) 포트, 이어폰 포트 등이 인터페이스부(295)에 포함될 수 있다.
식별 모듈은 이동 단말기(200)의 사용 권한을 인증하기 위한 각종 정보를 저장한 칩으로서, 사용자 인증 모듈(User Identify Module, UIM), 가입자 인증 모듈(Subscriber Identify Module, SIM), 범용 사용자 인증 모듈(Universal Subscriber Identity Module, USIM) 등을 포함할 수 있다. 식별 모듈이 구비된 장치(이하 '식별 장치')는, 스마트 카드(smart card) 형식으로 제작될 수 있다. 따라서 식별 장치는 포트를 통하여 이동 단말기(200)와 연결될 수 있다.
본 실시예에 따른 카메라 모듈(241)은 디스플레이부, 근접센서, 촬영 렌즈, 제어부를 포함하여 이루어진다.
카메라 모듈(241)은 화상 통화모드 또는 촬영 모드에서 이미지 센서에 의해 얻어지는 정지영상 또는 동영상 등의 화상 프레임을 처리하고, 처리된 화상 프레임이 디스플레이부(260)에 표시될 수 있다. 또한, 디스플레이부(260)의 유기 EL 디스플레이(261)는 어플리케이션 프로세서(290)에서의 프로세스에 따라 여러 가지 화상을 표시하는데, 유기 EL 디스플레이(261)에서 표시되는 화상에는 사용자가 이동 단말기에서 동작 지시를 부여하는 사용자 인터페이스 화상, 정지화상 및 동영상 등이 있다. 그리고, 정지화상은 카메라 모듈(241)의 촬영 기능에 의해 피사체를 촬영한 촬영 화상이 포함되고, 동영상에는 촬영시점에서 피사체를 파악할 수 있도록 피사체를 촬상하여 생성되는 프리뷰 화상 등이 포함된다.
그리고, 근접센서(231)는 이동 단말기에 감지 대상물이 근접하고 있음을 비접촉 방식으로 감지하는 센서로서, 디스플레이부에 사용자가 소정의 거리에 근접하고 있음을 감지할 수 있다. 또한, 제어부는 근접센서로부터 발광부의 발광량과 수광부의 수광량을 입력받아 디스플레이부를 구동해 줄 수 있다.
또한, 제어부는 이동 단말기의 전반적인 동작을 제어하는 어플리케이션 프로세서(290)로 구비되어 근접센서에 의해 사용자가 디스플레이부에 대해 소정의 거리까지 근접하고 있음이 감지되지 않는 경우, 디스플레이부를 사용 상태로 하고, 근접센서에 의해 사용자가 디스플레이부에 대해 소정의 거리까지 근접하고 있음이 감지되는 경우, 디스플레이부를 비사용 상태로 제어해 줄 수 있다. 여기서, 근접센서(231)는 감지 대상물을 감지할 수 있는 소정의 거리까지 사용자가 근접센서에 접근한 경우, 사용자의 근접을 감지하고, 사용자의 접근을 감지하였음을 통지하는 감지 통지 신호를 어플리케이션 프로세서(290)에 송신한다. 어플리케이션 프로세서(290)에 근접센서로부터 감지 통지 신호가 수신된 경우, 어플리케이션 프로세서(290)는 유기 EL 디스플레이(261)를 소등한다.
한편, 카메라 모듈의 촬영기능을 위해 근접센서와 인접하여 촬영 렌즈가 배치될 수 있다.
아울러, 카메라 모듈(241)은 디스플레이부의 사용 상태와 디스플레이부의 비사용 상태를 입력하는 입력부를 더 포함할 수 있는데, 입력부는 전환 버튼으로 구비될 수 있다. 그리고, 전환 버튼을 조작하여 전환 버튼의 전환을 송신하는 어플리케이션 프로세서(290)가 전환버튼의 전환 신호에 따라 디스플레이부를 사용 상태와 비사용 상태로 전환해 줄 수 있다.

도 3을 참조하면, 종래의 이동 단말기(50)의 하우징(51)에는 디스플레이(52)가 배치되고, 하우징(51)의 상단 중앙부에는 음향출력부(도시되지 않음)를 보호하는 덮개부(55)가 배치된다. 그리고, 덮개부(55)에 인접하여 근접센서(53)와 카메라 모듈의 촬영렌즈(54)가 나란히 배치될 수 있다.
상술한 바와 같은 구성들의 배치에 의하면, 적외선을 송신하는 송신부 및 반사되는 적외선을 감지하는 수신부를 구비하는 근접센서(53)가 작동하는 도중에 발생하는 적외선 반사 및 난반사 방지를 위해 근접센서(53)에 대응하는 위치에 검은색의 인쇄층이 하우징(51)에 적층된다. 이러한 경우, 흰색 계열의 이동 단말기는 심미적인 디자인을 구현할 수 없는 한계가 있다.
그리고, 근접센서(53)의 발광부와 수광부가 서로 인접하여 배치됨에 따라 내부 난반사에 의한 크로스 토크(cross talk)가 발생하게 된다.
도 4와 5는 실시예에 따른 카메라 모듈에 포함되는 근접센서의 구조를 나타내는 단면도이고, 도 6은 일실시예에 따른 이동 단말기를 나타내는 평면도이다.
도 4 내지 도 6을 참조하면, 본 실시예에 따른 이동 단말기는 하우징, 기판, 음향 출력부, 디스플레이부, 카메라 모듈, 덮개부를 포함하여 이루어진다.
이동 단말기(500)의 외관을 이루는 하우징(510)은 합성수지를 사출하여 형성되거나 스테인레스 스틸(STS) 또는 티타늄(Ti) 등과 같은 금속재질을 포함할 수 있다.
그리고, 하우징(510)의 내부에 형성된 공간에는 기판이 배치되고, 기판에는 각종 전자 부품들이 실장될 수 있다.
또한, 기판에 음향 출력부(340, 440)와 근접센서의 발광부(320, 420)와 수광부(330, 430)가 안착될 수 있다. 여기서, 본 실시예에 따른 근접센서의 구조를 살펴보면 다음과 같다.
도 4에 도시한 바와 같이, 근접센서(300)는 기판(310), 발광부(320), 수광부(330), 덮개부(360)를 포함하여 이루어진다.
그리고, 기판(310)은 표면 실장 기술(Surface Mounting Technology : SMT) 공정이 가능하도록 패턴이 인쇄된 연성인쇄회로기판(FPCB : Flexible Printed Circuit Boards)으로 구비될 수 있다.
한편, 기판(310)에는 발광부(320)와 수광부(330)가 배치될 수 있는데, 발광부(320)와 수광부(330)는 이동 단말기의 음향 출력부(340)를 사이에 두고 서로 이격되어 배치될 수 있다.
그리고, 발광부(320)는 발광부(320)를 지지하는 제1 몸체(321), 적외선 발광다이오드(Infrared Emitting Diode)(325), 제1 렌즈(321b)를 포함할 수 있다. 또한, 제1 몸체(321)의 하단면에 적외선 발광다이오드(325)가 다이 본딩(die bonding)될 수 있고, 제1 몸체(321)의 상단면에 제1 홀(321a)이 구비되어 빛의 방출각을 제어할 수 있는 제1 렌즈(321b)가 제 1홀(321a)에 삽입될 수 있다.
아울러, 수광부(330)는 수광부(330)를 지지하는 제2 몸체(332), 포토다이오드(Photodiode)(335), 제2 렌즈(332b)를 포함할 수 있다. 또한, 제2 몸체(332)의 하단면에 적외선 발광다이오드(335)가 다이 본딩(die bonding)될 수 있고, 제2 몸체(332)의 상단면에 제2 홀(332a)이 구비되어 빛의 입사각을 제어할 수 있는 제2 렌즈(332b)가 제2 홀(332a)에 삽입될 수 있다.
그리고, 덮개부(360)는 발광부(320)와 수광부(330) 및 음향 출력부(340)의 상부에 배치될 수 있다. 여기서, 덮개부(360)는 격자홀(361)을 포함하여 발광부(320)에서 방사되는 빛과 수광부(330)로 입사되는 빛이 격자홀(361) 사이를 직접 투과할 수 있게 된다. 이에 따라, 발광부(320)에서 방사되고, 수광부(330)에서 수광되는 광량을 종래의 근접센서에서보다 증가시킬 수 있다.
다른 실시예에 따른 근접센서의 구조를 살펴보면, 도 5에 도시한 바와 같이, 근접센서(400)는 기판(410), 발광부(420), 수광부(430), 반사부(450), 덮개부(460)를 포함하여 이루어진다.
그리고, 기판(410)은 표면 실장 기술(Surface Mounting Technology : SMT) 공정이 가능하도록 패턴이 인쇄된 연성인쇄회로기판(FPCB : Flexible Printed Circuit Boards)으로 구비될 수 있다.
한편, 기판(410)에는 발광부(420)와 수광부(430)가 배치될 수 있는데, 발광부(420)와 수광부(430)는 이동 단말기의 음향 출력부(440)를 사이에 두고 서로 이격되어 배치될 수 있다.
또한, 발광부(420)와 수광부(430)에는 반사부(450)가 구비될 수 있는데, 반사부(450)는 발광부(420)에서 발광하는 빛을 굴절시키도록 발광부(420)에 배치되는 제1 반사면(451)과, 수광부(130)로 입사되는 빛을 굴절시키도록 수광부(430)에 배치되는 제2 반사면(452)을 포함할 수 있다.
그리고, 발광부(420)는 발광부(420)를 지지하는 제1 몸체(421), 적외선 발광다이오드(Infrared Emitting Diode)(425), 제1 렌즈(421b)를 포함할 수 있다.
여기서, 제1 몸체(421)의 일부에는 몰딩재(455)가 채워지는데, 제1 몸체(421)와 제1 반사면(451)의 하단면 사이에 몰딩재(455)가 배치될 수 있다. 그리고, 몰딩재(455)는 제1 반사면(451)을 지지하며 배치될 수 있고, 경사면을 이루며 제1 몸체(421)의 내부에 채워질 수 있다.. 여기서, 제1 반사면(451)은 상기 경사면을 따라 구비될 수 있다. 이와 같이, 제1 몸체(421)의 일측면에 배치되는 제1 반사면(451)과 마주보며 제1 몸체(421)의 내측면에 적외선 발광다이오드(425)가 다이 본딩(die bonding)될 수 있다.
또한, 적외선 발광다이오드(425)가 배치되는 제1 몸체(421)의 내측면에는 기판(410)이 연장되어 구비되므로 기판(410)과 적외선 발광다이오드(425)가 전기적으로 연결될 수 있다.
그리고, 제1 몸체(421)의 상단면에 제1 홀(421a)이 구비되어 빛의 방출각을 제어할 수 있는 제1 렌즈(421b)가 제 1홀(421a)에 삽입될 수 있다.
아울러, 수광부(430)는 수광부(430)를 지지하는 제2 몸체(432), 포토다이오드(Photodiode)(435), 제2 렌즈(432b)를 포함할 수 있다. 그리고, 제2 몸체(432)의 일부에는 몰딩재(455)가 채워지는데, 제2 몸체(432)와 제2 반사면(152)의 하단면 사이에 몰딩재(455)가 배치될 수 있다. 그리고, 몰딩재(455)는 제2 반사면(452)을 지지하며 배치될 수 있고, 경사면을 이루며 제2 몸체(432) 내부에 채워질 수 있다. 여기서, 제2 반사면(452)은 상기 경사면을 따라 구비될 수 있다. 이와 같이 제2 몸체(432)의 일측면에 배치되는 제2 반사면(452)과 마주보며 제2 몸체(432)의 내측면에 포토다이오드(435)가 다이 본딩(die bonding)될 수 있다.
또한, 포토다이오드(435)가 배치되는 제2 몸체(432)의 내측면에는 기판(410)이 연장되어 구비되므로 기판(410)과 포토다이오드(435)가 전기적으로 연결될 수 있다.
아울러, 제2 몸체(432)의 상단면에는 제2 홀(432a)가 구비되고, 빛의 입사각을 제어할 수 있는 제2 렌즈(432b)가 제2 홀(432a)에 삽입될 수 있다.
그리고, 제1 반사면(451)은 제1 몸체(421)의 측면에 배치되는 적외선 발광다이오드(425)로부터의 빛을 발광부(420)의 상부로 모아줌과 동시에 광의 지향각을 조절해 줄 수 있다. 또한, 제2 반사면(452)은 제2 몸체(432)의 측면에 배치되는 포토다이오드(435)로 빛을 모아줌과 동시에 지향각을 조절해 줄 수 있다.
상술한 바와 같이, 적외선 발광다이오드(425) 및 포토다이오드(435)에 방사 및 입사되는 광량을 증가시키기 위해 제1 반사면(451)과 제2 반사면(452)은 기판(410)에 대하여 35° 내지 50°의 경사도를 가질 수 있다. 하지만, 제1 몸체(421)와 제2 몸체(432)의 형태 및 크기와 적외선 발광다이오드(425) 및 포토다이오드(435)가 배치되는 위치에 따라 제1 반사면(451)과 제2 반사면(452)의 경사도는 다르게 구비될 수 있다.
그리고, 제1 반사면(451)과 제2 반사면(452)은 아크릴 또는 폴리카보네이트 중 적어도 하나 이상을 포함할 수 있으나, 빛을 반사시킬 수 있는 재질이라면 금(Au) 같은 반사성 금속, 강화유리 등과 같은 재질로 구비되어도 무방하다.
한편, 덮개부(460)는 발광부(420)와 수광부(430) 및 음향 출력부(440)의 상부에 배치될 수 있다. 여기서, 덮개부(460)는 격자홀(461)을 포함하여 발광부(420)에서 방사되는 빛과 수광부(430)로 입사되는 빛이 격자홀(461) 사이를 직접 투과할 수 있게 된다. 이에 따라, 발광부(420)에서 방사되고, 수광부(430)에서 수광되는 광량을 종래의 근접센서에서보다 증가시킬 수 있다.
도 6을 참조하면, 하우징(510)에는 디스플레이부(520), 카메라 모듈의 촬영렌즈(540), 스피커를 보호하는 덮개부(550)가 배치될 수 있다.
그리고, 디스플레이부(520)는 하우징(510)의 전면 대부분을 차지하고, 사용자 입력부나 마이크 등이 더 배치될 수 있다.
한편, 하우징(510)의 내부 공간에는, 발광부와 수광부를 포함하고, 음향 출력부의 양측에 발광부와 수광부가 배치되어 디스플레이부에 사용자가 소정의 거리에 근접하고 있음을 감지하는 근접센서와, 근접센서로부터 발광부의 발광량과 수광부의 수광량을 입력받아 디스플레이부를 구동해 주는 제어부를 포함하는 카메라 모듈이 구비된다. 그리고, 하우징(510)의 전면에는 카메라 모듈의 촬영렌즈(540)가 배치되며, 촬영렌즈(540)와 인접하여 덮개부(550)가 배치된다. 여기서, 덮개부(550)는 하우징(510)의 내부 공간에 실장된 음향 출력부와 근접센서의 발광부와 수광부의 상부에 위치할 수 있다. 그리고, 근접센서의 발광부와 수광부가 음향 출력부의 양측에 배치되고, 덮개부(550)는 발광부와 수광부, 음향 출력부가 배치되는 길이방향으로 구비된다. 여기서, 덮개부(550)의 양쪽 가장자리부와 발광부와 수광부가 위치한 지점이 각각 대응되는 길이로 덮개부(550)가 구비될 수 있다. 따라서, 발광부와 수광부를 포함하는 근접센서가 배치되는 영역이 하우징(510)에 따로 노출되지 않기 때문에 이동 단말기 하우징의 색상에 관계없이 심미적이고, 심플한 디자인을 구현할 수 있게 된다.
아울러, 덮개부(550)에는 격자홀이 형성된다.
상술한 바와 같이, 음향 출력부의 양측에 근접센서의 발광부와 수광부를 이격시켜 각각 배치함으로써, 내부 난반사에 의한 크로스 토크(cross talk)를 방지할 수 있으며, 근접센서의 근접센서의 발광부의 광원과 수광부로 입사되는 빛이 덮개부의 격자홀을 투과하여 근접센서의 발광량 및 수광량을 증가시킴으로써, 근접센서의 성능을 향상시킬 수 있다.
이상에서 실시예를 중심으로 설명하였으나 이는 단지 예시일 뿐 본 발명을 한정하는 것이 아니며, 본 발명이 속하는 분야의 통상의 지식을 가진 자라면 본 실시예의 본질적인 특성을 벗어나지 않는 범위에서 이상에 예시되지 않은 여러 가지의 변형과 응용이 가능함을 알 수 있을 것이다. 예를 들어, 실시예에 구체적으로 나타난 각 구성 요소는 변형하여 실시할 수 있는 것이다. 그리고 이러한 변형과 응용에 관계된 차이점들은 첨부된 청구 범위에서 규정하는 본 발명의 범위에 포함되는 것으로 해석되어야 할 것이다.
실시예에 따른 근접센서를 포함하는 카메라 모듈과 이를 포함하는 이동 단말기는 크로스 토크(cross talk)를 방지할 수 있고, 근접센서의 발광량 및 수광량을 증가시킴으로써, 근접센서의 성능을 향상시킨 카메라 모듈과 이동 단말기를 구현할 수 있다.
Claims (20)
- 기판;상기 기판에 서로 이격되어 배치되는 발광부와 수광부;상기 발광부와 수광부 사이에 배치되는 간격유지부;상기 발광부에서 발광하는 빛을 굴절시키는 제1 반사면과 상기 수광부로 입사되는 빛을 굴절시키는 제2 반사면을 포함하는 반사부; 및상기 발광부와 수광부 및 상기 간격유지부의 상부에 배치되는 덮개부를 포함하는 근접센서.
- 제1 항에 있어서,상기 발광부는상기 발광부를 지지하는 제1 몸체;상기 제1 몸체의 일측면에 배치되는 상기 제1 반사면과 마주보며 구비되는 적외선 발광다이오드(Infrared Emitting Diode); 및상기 제1 몸체의 상단면에 구비되는 제1 홀에 배치되는 제1 렌즈를 포함하는 근접센서.
- 제2 항에 있어서,상기 제1 몸체와 상기 제1 반사면의 하단면 사이에 몰딩재가 배치되는 근접센서.
- 제2 항에 있어서,상기 기판과 상기 적외선 발광다이오드 사이에 제1 와이어가 배치되어 상기 기판과 상기 적외선 발광다이오드가 전기적으로 연결되고, 상기 제1 와이어는 투광성 수지로 코팅되는 근접센서.
- 제1 항에 있어서,상기 수광부는상기 수광부를 지지하는 제2 몸체;상기 제2 몸체의 일측에 배치되는 상기 제2 반사면과 마주보며 구비되는 포토다이오드(Photodiode); 및상기 제2 몸체의 상단면에 구비되는 제2 홀에 배치되는 제2 렌즈를 포함하는 근접센서.
- 제5 항에 있어서,상기 제2 몸체와 상기 제2 반사면의 하단면 사이에 몰딩재가 배치되는 근접센서.
- 제5 항에 있어서,상기 기판과 상기 포토다이오드 사이에 제2 와이어가 배치되어 상기 기판과 상기 포토다이오드가 전기적으로 연결되고, 상기 제2 와이어는 투광성 수지로 코팅되는 근접센서.
- 제1 항에 있어서,상기 제1 반사면과 상기 제2 반사면은 상기 기판에 대하여 35° 내지 50°의 경사도를 가지는 근접센서.
- 제1 항에 있어서,상기 제1 반사면과 상기 제2 반사면은 아크릴 또는 폴리카보네이트 중 적어도 하나 이상을 포함하는 근접센서.
- 디스플레이부;제1 항 내지 제9 항 중 어느 한 항에 기재되고, 상기 디스플레이부에 사용자가 소정의 거리에 근접하고 있음을 감지하는 근접센서;상기 근접센서와 인접하여 배치되는 촬영 렌즈; 및상기 근접센서로부터 상기 발광부의 발광량과 상기 수광부의 수광량을 입력받아 상기 디스플레이부를 구동해 주는 제어부를 포함하는 카메라 모듈.
- 제10 항에 있어서,상기 제어부는 근접센서에 의해 상기 사용자가 상기 디스플레이부에 대해 소정의 거리까지 근접하고 있음이 감지되지 않는 경우, 상기 디스플레이부를 사용 상태로 하고,상기 근접센서에 의해 상기 사용자가 상기 디스플레이부에 대해 소정의 거리까지 근접하고 있음이 감지되는 경우, 상기 디스플레이부를 비사용 상태로 제어하는 카메라 모듈.
- 제10 항에 있어서,상기 카메라 모듈은 상기 디스플레이부의 사용 상태와 상기 디스플레이부의 비사용 상태를 입력하는 입력부를 더 포함하고,상기 제어부가 상기 입력부에 대한 입력에 따라 상기 디스플레이부를 상기 사용 상태와 상기 비사용 상태로 전환하는 카메라 모듈.
- 하우징;상기 하우징의 내부에 배치되는 기판;상기 기판에 안착되는 음향 출력부;상기 하우징의 상부면에 배치되는 디스플레이부;발광부와 수광부를 포함하고, 상기 음향 출력부의 양측에 상기 발광부와 수광부가 배치되어 상기 디스플레이부에 사용자가 소정의 거리에 근접하고 있음을 감지하는 근접센서와, 상기 근접센서로부터 상기 발광부의 발광량과 상기 수광부의 수광량을 입력받아 상기 디스플레이부를 구동해 주는 제어부를 포함하는 카메라 모듈; 및상기 디스플레이부에 배치되어 상기 음향 출력부와 상기 근접센서의 상부에 구비되는 덮개부를 포함하는 이동 단말기.
- 제13 항에 있어서,상기 발광부는상기 발광부를 지지하는 제1 몸체;상기 제1 몸체 내부의 하단면에 배치되는 적외선 발광다이오드(Infrared Emitting Diode); 및상기 제1 몸체의 상단면에 구비되는 제1 홀에 배치되는 제1 렌즈를 포함하는 이동 단말기.
- 제13 항에 있어서,상기 수광부는상기 수광부를 지지하는 제2 몸체;상기 제2 몸체 내부의 하단면에 배치되는 포토다이오드(Photodiode); 및상기 제2 몸체의 상단면에 구비되는 제2 홀에 배치되는 제2 렌즈를 포함하는 이동 단말기.
- 제13 항에 있어서,상기 근접센서는 상기 발광부에서 발광하는 빛을 굴절시키는 제1 반사면과 상기 수광부로 입사되는 빛을 굴절시키는 제2 반사면을 포함하는 이동 단말기.
- 제16 항에 있어서,상기 발광부는상기 발광부를 지지하는 제1 몸체;상기 제1 몸체의 일측면에 배치되는 상기 제1 반사면과 마주보며 구비되는 적외선 발광다이오드(Infrared Emitting Diode); 및상기 제1 몸체의 상단면에 구비되는 제1 홀에 배치되는 제1 렌즈를 포함하는 이동 단말기.
- 제16 항에 있어서,상기 수광부는상기 수광부를 지지하는 제2 몸체;상기 제2 몸체의 일측에 배치되는 상기 제2 반사면과 마주보며 구비되는 포토다이오드(Photodiode); 및상기 제2 몸체의 상단면에 구비되는 제2 홀에 배치되는 제2 렌즈를 포함하는 이동 단말기.
- 제13 항에 있어서,상기 덮개부는 상기 음향 출력부와 상기 근접센서가 배치된 길이방향으로 대응하여 구비되는 이동 단말기.
- 제13 항에 있어서,상기 덮개부는 격자홀로 구비되는 이동 단말기.
