본 발명은 디스플레이 장치에 관한 것이다.
최근 들어, 유선 또는 무선 통신망을 이용한 디지털 TV 서비스가 보편화되고 있다. 디지털 TV 서비스는 기존의 아날로그 방송 서비스에서는 제공할 수 없었던 다양한 서비스를 제공할 수 있다.
예를 들어 디지털 TV 서비스의 한 종류인 IPTV(Internet Protocol Television) 서비스의 경우 사용자로 하여금 시청 프로그램의 종류, 시청 시간 등을 능동적으로 선택할 수 있도록 하는 양방향성을 제공한다. IPTV 서비스는 이러한 양방향성을 기반으로 하여 다양한 부가 서비스, 예컨대 인터넷 검색, 홈쇼핑, 온라인 게임 등을 제공할 수도 있다.
또한, 최근에는 사용자의 개인화 서비스를 위해 사용자가 즐겨 찾기로 등록 해 놓은 채널이나 방송 프로그램 목록을 제공하고 있다.
그러나, 종래에는 사용자가 별도의 메뉴 화면에 진입하여 등록된 즐겨 찾기 목록을 확인해야 했고, 현재 시청 중인 방송 프로그램을 즐겨 찾기 목록에 추가시키기 위해서도 별도의 메뉴 화면에 진입해야만 했다.
본 발명은 사용자가 TV를 시청 중 방송 프로그램이나 방송 프로그램 채널을 손쉽게 즐겨 찾기 목록에 추가시킬 수 있는 디스플레이 장치 및 그의 동작 방법의 제공을 목적으로 한다.
또한, 본 발명은 사용자에게 즐겨 찾기로 등록 해 놓은 목록을 손쉽게 접근하도록 독특한 인터페이스 화면을 제공하는 디스플레이 장치 및 그의 동작 방법의 제공을 목적으로 한다.
본 발명은 즐겨찾기 목록 또는 전자 프로그램 가이드 상에 방송 프로그램의 과거 방송 분을 볼 수 있는 따라잡기 기능을 추가하여 사용자에게 다양한 시청 환경을 제공할 수 있는 디스플레이 장치 및 그의 동작 방법의 제공을 목적으로 한다.

원격제어장치(200)는 RF 통신규격에 따라 디스플레이 장치(100)와 신호를 송수신할 수 있는 RF 모듈(221)을 구비하며, IR 통신규격에 따라 디스플레이 장치(100)와 신호를 송수신할 수 있는 IR 모듈(223)을 구비할 수 있다. 또한, 원격제어장치(200)는 블루투스 통신규격에 따라 디스플레이 장치(100)와 신호를 송수신할 수 있는 블루투스 모듈(225)를 구비할 수 있다. 또한, 원격제어장치(200)는 NFC(Near Field Communication) 통신 규격에 따라 디스플레이 장치(100)와 신호를 송수할 수 있는 NFC 모듈(227)을 구비하며, WLAN(Wireless LAN) 통신 규격에 따라 디스플레이 장치(100)와 신호를 송수신할 수 있는 WLAN 모듈(229)을 구비할 수 있다.
또한, 원격제어장치(200)는 디스플레이 장치(100)로 원격제어장치(200)의 움직임 등에 관한 정보가 담긴 신호를 무선 통신부(220)를 통해 전송한다.
한편, 원격제어장치(200)는 디스플레이 장치(100)가 전송한 신호를 RF 모듈(221)을 통하여 수신할 수 있으며, 필요에 따라 IR 모듈(223)을 통하여 디스플레이 장치(100)로 전원 온/오프, 채널 변경, 볼륨 변경 등에 관한 명령을 전송할 수 있다.
사용자 입력부(230)는 키패드, 버튼, 터치 패드, 또는 터치 스크린 등으로 구성될 수 있다. 사용자는 사용자 입력부(230)를 조작하여 원격제어장치(200)으로 디스플레이 장치(100)와 관련된 명령을 입력할 수 있다. 사용자 입력부(230)가 하드키 버튼을 구비할 경우 사용자는 하드키 버튼의 푸쉬 동작을 통하여 원격제어장치(200)으로 디스플레이 장치(100)와 관련된 명령을 입력할 수 있다. 이에 대해서는 도 3을 참조하여 설명한다.
도 3을 참조하면, 원격제어장치(200)는 복수의 버튼을 포함할 수 있다. 복수의 버튼은 지문 인식 버튼(212), 전원 버튼(231), 홈 버튼(232), 라이브 버튼(233), 외부 입력 버튼(234), 음량 조절 버튼(235), 음성 인식 버튼(236), 채널 변경 버튼(237), 확인 버튼(238) 및 뒤로 가기 버튼(239)을 포함할 수 있다.
지문 인식 버튼(212)은 사용자의 지문을 인식하기 위한 버튼일 수 있다. 일 실시예로, 지문 인식 버튼(212)은 푸쉬 동작이 가능하여, 푸쉬 동작 및 지문 인식 동작을 수신할 수도 있다. 전원 버튼(231)은 디스플레이 장치(100)의 전원을 온/오프 하기 위한 버튼일 수 있다. 홈 버튼(232)은 디스플레이 장치(100)의 홈 화면으로 이동하기 위한 버튼일 수 있다. 라이브 버튼(233)은 실시간 방송 프로그램을 디스플레이 하기 위한 버튼일 수 있다. 외부 입력 버튼(234)은 디스플레이 장치(100)에 연결된 외부 입력을 수신하기 위한 버튼일 수 있다. 음량 조절 버튼(235)은 디스플레이 장치(100)가 출력하는 음량의 크기를 조절하기 위한 버튼일 수 있다. 음성 인식 버튼(236)은 사용자의 음성을 수신하고, 수신된 음성을 인식하기 위한 버튼일 수 있다. 채널 변경 버튼(237)은 특정 방송 채널의 방송 신호를 수신하기 위한 버튼일 수 있다. 확인 버튼(238)은 특정 기능을 선택하기 위한 버튼일 수 있고, 뒤로 가기 버튼(239)은 이전 화면으로 되돌아가기 위한 버튼일 수 있다.
다시 도 2를 설명한다.
사용자 입력부(230)가 터치스크린을 구비할 경우 사용자는 터치스크린의 소프트키를 터치하여 원격제어장치(200)로 디스플레이 장치(100)와 관련된 명령을 입력할 수 있다. 또한, 사용자 입력부(230)는 스크롤 키나, 조그 키 등 사용자가 조작할 수 있는 다양한 종류의 입력수단을 구비할 수 있으며 본 실시 예는 본 발명의 권리범위를 제한하지 아니한다.
센서부(240)는 자이로 센서(241) 또는 가속도 센서(243)를 구비할 수 있으며, 자이로 센서(241)는 원격제어장치(200)의 움직임에 관한 정보를 센싱할 수 있다.
예를 들어, 자이로 센서(241)는 원격제어장치(200)의 동작에 관한 정보를 x,y,z 축을 기준으로 센싱할 수 있으며, 가속도 센서(243)는 원격제어장치(200)의 이동속도 등에 관한 정보를 센싱할 수 있다. 한편, 원격제어장치(200)는 거리측정센서를 더 구비할 수 있어, 디스플레이 장치(100)의 디스플레이부(180)와의 거리를 센싱할 수 있다.
출력부(250)는 사용자 입력부(235)의 조작에 대응하거나 디스플레이 장치(100)에서 전송한 신호에 대응하는 영상 또는 음성 신호를 출력할 수 있다. 출력부(250)를 통하여 사용자는 사용자 입력부(235)의 조작 여부 또는 디스플레이 장치(100)의 제어 여부를 인지할 수 있다.
예를 들어, 출력부(250)는 사용자 입력부(235)가 조작되거나 무선 통신부(225)를 통하여 디스플레이 장치(100)와 신호가 송수신되면 점등되는 LED 모듈(251), 진동을 발생하는 진동 모듈(253), 음향을 출력하는 음향 출력 모듈(255), 또는 영상을 출력하는 디스플레이 모듈(257)을 구비할 수 있다.
또한, 전원공급부(260)는 원격제어장치(200)으로 전원을 공급하며, 원격제어장치(200)이 소정 시간 동안 움직이지 않은 경우 전원 공급을 중단함으로서 전원 낭비를 줄일 수 있다. 전원공급부(260)는 원격제어장치(200)에 구비된 소정 키가 조작된 경우에 전원 공급을 재개할 수 있다.
저장부(270)는 원격제어장치(200)의 제어 또는 동작에 필요한 여러 종류의 프로그램, 애플리케이션 데이터 등이 저장될 수 있다. 만일 원격제어장치(200)가 디스플레이 장치(100)와 RF 모듈(221)을 통하여 무선으로 신호를 송수신할 경우 원격제어장치(200)과 디스플레이 장치(100)는 소정 주파수 대역을 통하여 신호를 송수신한다.
원격제어장치(200)의 제어부(280)는 원격제어장치(200)과 페어링된 디스플레이 장치(100)와 신호를 무선으로 송수신할 수 있는 주파수 대역 등에 관한 정보를 저장부(270)에 저장하고 참조할 수 있다.
제어부(280)는 원격제어장치(200)의 제어에 관련된 제반사항을 제어한다. 제어부(280)는 사용자 입력부(235)의 소정 키 조작에 대응하는 신호 또는 센서부(240)에서 센싱한 원격제어장치(200)의 움직임에 대응하는 신호를 무선 통신부(225)를 통하여 디스플레이 장치(100)로 전송할 수 있다.
또한, 원격제어장치(200)의 음성 획득부(290)는 음성을 획득할 수 있다.
음성 획득부(290)는 적어도 하나 이상의 마이크(291)을 포함할 수 있고, 마이크(291)를 통해 음성을 획득할 수 있다.
다음으로 도 4를 설명한다.
도 4는 본 발명의 실시 예에 따라 원격 제어 장치를 활용하는 예를 보여준다.
도 4의 (a)는 원격 제어 장치(200)에 대응하는 포인터(205)가 디스플레이부(180)에 표시되는 것을 예시한다.
사용자는 원격 제어 장치(200)를 상하, 좌우로 움직이거나 회전할 수 있다. 디스플레이 장치(100)의 디스플레이부(180)에 표시된 포인터(205)는 원격 제어 장치(200)의 움직임에 대응한다. 이러한 원격 제어 장치(200)는, 도면과 같이, 3D 공간 상의 움직임에 따라 해당 포인터(205)가 이동되어 표시되므로, 공간 리모콘이라 명명할 수 있다.
도 4의 (b)는 사용자가 원격 제어 장치(200)를 왼쪽으로 이동하면, 디스플레이 장치(100)의 디스플레이부(180)에 표시된 포인터(205)도 이에 대응하여 왼쪽으로 이동하는 것을 예시한다.
원격 제어 장치(200)의 센서를 통하여 감지된 원격 제어 장치(200)의 움직임에 관한 정보는 디스플레이 장치(100)로 전송된다. 디스플레이 장치(100)는 원격 제어 장치(200)의 움직임에 관한 정보로부터 포인터(205)의 좌표를 산출할 수 있다. 디스플레이 장치(100)는 산출한 좌표에 대응하도록 포인터(205)를 표시할 수 있다.
도 4의 (c)는, 원격 제어 장치(200) 내의 특정 버튼을 누른 상태에서, 사용자가 원격 제어 장치(200)를 디스플레이부(180)에서 멀어지도록 이동하는 경우를 예시한다. 이에 의해, 포인터(205)에 대응하는 디스플레이부(180) 내의 선택 영역이 줌인되어 확대 표시될 수 있다.
이와 반대로, 사용자가 원격 제어 장치(200)를 디스플레이부(180)에 가까워지도록 이동하는 경우, 포인터(205)에 대응하는 디스플레이부(180) 내의 선택 영역이 줌아웃되어 축소 표시될 수 있다.
한편, 원격 제어 장치(200)가 디스플레이부(180)에서 멀어지는 경우, 선택 영역이 줌아웃되고, 원격 제어 장치(200)가 디스플레이부(180)에 가까워지는 경우, 선택 영역이 줌인될 수도 있다.
또한, 원격 제어 장치(200) 내의 특정 버튼을 누른 상태에서는 상하, 좌우 이동의 인식이 배제될 수 있다. 즉, 원격 제어 장치(200)가 디스플레이부(180)에서 멀어지거나 접근하도록 이동하는 경우, 상, 하, 좌, 우 이동은 인식되지 않고, 앞뒤 이동만 인식되도록 할 수 있다. 원격 제어 장치(200) 내의 특정 버튼을 누르지 않은 상태에서는, 원격 제어 장치(200)의 상, 하, 좌, 우 이동에 따라 포인터(205)만 이동하게 된다.
한편, 포인터(205)의 이동속도나 이동방향은 원격 제어 장치(200)의 이동속도나 이동방향에 대응할 수 있다.
한편, 본 명세서에서의 포인터는, 원격 제어 장치(200)의 동작에 대응하여, 디스플레이부(180)에 표시되는 오브젝트를 의미한다. 따라서, 포인터(205)로 도면에 도시된 화살표 형상 외에 다양한 형상의 오브젝트가 가능하다. 예를 들어, 점, 커서, 프롬프트, 두꺼운 외곽선 등을 포함하는 개념일 수 있다. 그리고, 포인터(205)가 디스플레이부(180) 상의 가로축과 세로축 중 어느 한 지점(point)에 대응하여 표시되는 것은 물론, 선(line), 면(surface) 등 복수 지점에 대응하여 표시되는 것도 가능하다.
다음으로, 도 5를 참조하여, 본 발명의 일 실시 예에 따른 디스플레이 장치(100)의 동작 방법을 설명한다.
도 5는 본 발명의 일 실시 예에 따른 디스플레이 장치의 동작 방법을 설명하기 위한 흐름도이다.
디스플레이 장치(100)의 제어부(170)는 방송 프로그램을 재생한다(S101). 제어부(170)는 방송 프로그램을 디스플레이부(180)를 통해 출력할 수 있다.
디스플레이 장치(100)의 제어부(170)는 방송 프로그램의 재생 중 복수의 아이콘들을 출력하기 위한 요청이 수신되는지 확인하고(S103), 복수의 아이콘들을 출력하기 위한 요청이 수신된 경우, 수신된 요청에 따라 복수의 아이콘들을 출력한다(S105).
일 실시 예에서 복수의 아이콘들은 최근에 시청한 방송 프로그램의 정보를 포함하는 아이콘, 미디어 컨텐트를 제공하는 컨텐트 제공자를 나타내는 아이콘, 디스플레이 장치(100)에 연결된 외부 기기 또는 외부 입력을 나타내는 아이콘 및 즐겨 찾기 목록을 제공하는 즐겨 찾기 아이콘을 포함할 수 있다.
일 실시 예에서 복수의 아이콘들을 출력하기 위한 요청은 원격 제어 장치(200)로부터 수신될 수 있다. 즉, 원격 제어 장치(200)에 구비된 홈 버튼(232)을 선택하는 명령이 요청된 경우, 원격 제어 장치(200)는 홈 버튼(232)을 선택하는 요청을 디스플레이 장치(100)에 전송할 수 있다. 디스플레이 장치(100)는 원격 제어 장치(200)로부터 수신된 요청에 따라 복수의 아이콘들을 출력할 수 있다.

도 6은 본 발명의 일 실시 예에 따라 방송 프로그램의 재생 중 복수의 아이콘들을 표시하는 화면의 예시를 보여준다.
도 6에서 디스플레이부(180)를 통해 표시된 화면(300)은 메인 화면이라 명명될 수 있다. 메인 화면은 디스플레이 장치(100)의 부팅 완료 후, 초기에 표시되는 화면일 수 있다. 물론, 메인 화면 상에 표시된 서비스 표시 영역(320)에 포함된 복수의 아이콘들은 원격 제어 장치(200)로부터 수신된 명령에 따라 표시될 수 있다.
제어부(170)는 방송 프로그램의 재생 중 복수의 아이콘들을 출력하는 요청에 따라 복수의 아이콘들을 출력할 수 있다. 복수의 아이콘들을 출력하는 요청은 원격 제어 장치(200)의 홈 버튼(232)을 선택하는 입력에 따라 원격 제어 장치(200)로부터 수신하는 출력 명령일 수 있다.
도 6을 참조하면, 디스플레이 장치(100)의 화면(300)은 방송 프로그램이 재생되는 영역인 방송 프로그램 표시 영역(310) 및 복수의 아이콘들이 표시되는 영역인 서비스 표시 영역(320)을 포함할 수 있다. 방송 프로그램 표시 영역(310)은 화면(300)의 전체 영역일 수 있고, 서비스 표시 영역(320)은 화면(300)의 부분 영역일 수 있다. 서비스 표시 영역(320)은 방송 프로그램 표시 영역(310)에 중첩되어 표시될 수 있다.
서비스 표시 영역(320)에는 가장 최근에 재생된 미디어 컨텐트에 대한 정보를 포함하는 최근 재생 아이콘(321), 네트워크를 통해 미디어 컨텐트를 제공하는 컨텐트 제공자를 나타내는 컨텐트 제공자 아이콘(322), 외부 입력 단자를 나타내는 외부 입력 아이콘(323) 및 즐겨 찾기 목록을 제공하기 위한 즐겨 찾기 아이콘(324)를 포함할 수 있다.
최근 재생 아이콘(321)은 디스플레이 장치(100)에서 가장 최근에 재생된 미디어 컨텐트에 대한 정보를 포함할 수 있다. 예를 들어, 미디어 컨텐트가 방송 프로그램인 경우, 최근 재생 아이콘(321)상에는 방송 프로그램의 썸네일 이미지, 방송 프로그램의 명칭, 방송 프로그램의 채널 번호 및 방송 프로그램을 제공하는 방송사의 명칭 중 하나 이상이 표시될 수 있다. 일 실시 예에서 최근 재생 아이콘(321)은 일정 시간 이상 디스플레이부(180)를 통해 재생된 경우, 표시될 수 있다.
컨텐트 제공자 아이콘(322) 상에는 컨텐트 제공자의 명칭, 컨텐트 제공자를 식별하는 이미지 등이 표시될 수 있다. 컨텐트 제공자 아이콘(322)은 미디어 컨텐트를 제공하는 컨텐트 제공자로의 접속을 제공하는 어플리케이션에 대응하는 아이콘일 수 있다.
외부 입력 아이콘(323) 상에는 가장 최근에 연결된 외부 입력의 명칭(예를 들어, HDMI 1), 가장 최근에 연결된 외부 입력을 통해 재생된 미디어 컨텐트의 썸네일 이미지가 표시될 수 있다.
즐겨 찾기 아이콘(324) 상에는 즐겨 찾기를 나타내는 식별자가 표시될 수 있다. 즐겨 찾기 아이콘(324)은 설정에 따라 서비스 표시 영역(320)에 포함될 수도 있고, 포함되지 않을 수도 있다. 즐겨 찾기 아이콘(324)이 서비스 표시 영역(320)에 포함되지 않은 경우, 제어부(170)는 원격 제어 장치(200)에 구비된 특정 키 버튼의 입력을 수신하여 즐겨 찾기 아이콘(324)을 서비스 표시 영역(320)에 나타나게 할 수 있다.
일 실시 예에서 서비스 표시 영역(320)에 배치된 복수의 아이콘들은 디스플레이 장치(100)의 제조사에 의해 설정된 아이콘들일 수 있다.
또 다른 실시 예에서 서비스 표시 영역(320)에 표시된 복수의 아이콘들은 사용자의 설정 입력에 따라 달리 배치될 수도 있다. 사용자는 서비스 표시 영역(320)에 포함된 복수의 아이콘들의 배치를 변경할 수 있다.
다시 도 5를 설명한다.
디스플레이 장치(100)의 제어부(170)는 복수의 아이콘들 중 즐겨 찾기 아이콘을 선택하는 요청을 수신하고(S107), 수신된 요청에 따라 즐겨 찾기 목록에 진입하기 위한 즐겨 찾기 목록 진입 버튼을 출력한다(S109).

닫기 버튼(335)이 선택된 경우, 제어부(170)는 즐겨 찾기 목록 진입 버튼(330)을 표시하지 않고, 도 6에 도시된 바와 같이, 즐겨 찾기 아이콘(324)을 표시하도록 디스플레이부(180)를 제어할 수 있다.

디스플레이 장치(100)의 제어부(170)는 출력된 즐겨 찾기 목록 진입 버튼을 선택하는 요청을 수신하고(S111), 수신된 요청에 따라 즐겨 찾기 목록을 출력한다(S113).
일 실시 예에서 즐겨 찾기 목록 진입 버튼(330)을 선택하는 요청은 즐겨 찾기 채널 버튼(331) 및 즐겨 찾기 프로그램 버튼(333) 중 어느 하나를 선택하는 요청일 수 있다.

일 실시 예에서 각 채널 아이콘의 일측 또는 각 채널 아이콘 내에는 따라잡기 아이콘(미도시)이 더 표시될 수 있다. 따라잡기 아이콘은 해당 채널에서 제공되는 방송 프로그램의 이전 회차에 대응하는 방송 프로그램에 대한 정보를 제공하기 위한 아이콘일 수 있다. 따라잡기 아이콘에 대해서는 후술할 도 32 내지 도 42에서 설명될 실시 예가 적용될 수 있다.
각 채널 아이콘에는 해당 채널에 대한 정보가 표시될 수 있다. 이에 대해서는 도 9를 참조하여 설명한다.
도 9는 본 발명의 일 실시 예에 따라 각 채널 아이콘에 포함된 정보를 설명하기 위한 도면이다.
도 9를 참조하면, 즐겨 찾기 채널 목록(340)에 포함된 채널 아이콘(341)은 채널을 식별하기 위한 채널 로고(341a), 해당 채널에서 방송 중인 프로그램의 진행 상황을 보여주는 프로그래스 바(341b), 채널 번호(341c) 및 해당 채널에서 방송 중인 프로그램의 명칭(341d)을 포함할 수 있다. 채널 로고(341a)에는 채널을 제공하는 방송국의 명칭이 포함될 수 있다.
일 실시 예에서 채널 아이콘(341)이 선택된 경우, 제어부(170)는 현재 채널을 선택된 채널 아이콘(341)에 대응하는 채널로 변경할 수 있다. 이에 대해서는 도 10을 참조하여 설명한다.
도 10은 본 발명의 일 실시 예에 따라 채널 아이콘이 선택된 경우, 해당 채널로 이동 가능한 실시 예를 설명하는 도면이다.
도 10을 참조하면, 제어부(170)는 즐겨 찾기 채널 목록(340)에 포함된 채널 아이콘(341)을 선택하는 요청에 따라 선택된 채널 아이콘(341)에 대응하는 채널로 변경 할 수 있다. 이에 따라 방송 프로그램 표시 영역(310)에는 변경된 채널에서 제공되는 방송 프로그램이 표시될 수 있다.
사용자는 즐겨 찾기로 등록 해 놓은 채널에 대한 실시간 방송 정보를 통해 쉽게 채널 이동이 가능한 효과가 있다.
다음으로 도 11 내지 도 12를 설명한다.
도 11 내지 도 12는 본 발명의 일 실시 예에 따라 채널 추가 아이콘이 선택된 경우, 즐겨 찾기 채널 목록에 추가될 채널을 검색하는 예를 보여주는 화면이다.
도 11을 참조하면, 즐겨 찾기 채널 목록(340)은 채널 추가 아이콘(349)을 더 포함할 수 있다. 채널 추가 아이콘(349)이 선택된 경우, 제어부(170)는 즐겨 찾기 채널 목록(340)에 추가될 채널을 검색하기 위한 채널 검색 화면(400)을 표시하도록 디스플레이부(180)를 제어할 수 있다.

만약, 채널 검색 탭(410)에 <CN>이라는 검색어가 입력되고, 채널 검색 요청이 수신된 경우, 제어부(170)는 화면 상(400)에 검색어 <CN>에 따른 채널 검색 결과를 채널 검색 결과 리스트(460)를 표시하도록 디스플레이부(180)를 제어할 수 있다.
채널 검색 결과 리스트(460)에 포함된 채널들 중, 2개의 채널(461, 463)이 선택되고, 즐겨 찾기 등록 버튼(470)이 선택된 경우, 제어부(170)는 선택된 2개의 채널(461, 463)을 즐겨 찾기 채널 목록(340)에 추가시킬 수 있다.

디스플레이 장치(100)는 즐겨 찾기 프로그램 목록(350)을 화면(300)의 전체 영역에 표시하고, 썸네일 이미지를 배경으로 보여주므로, 사용자에게 몰입감 및 편의성을 제공할 수 있다.
사용자는 즐겨 찾기 프로그램 목록(350)을 통해 자신이 즐겨 찾기로 등록해 놓은 프로그램에 대한 정보를 쉽게 확인할 수 있다.
일 실시 예에서 각 프로그램 아이콘의 일측 또는 각 프로그램 아이콘 내에는 따라잡기 아이콘(미도시)이 더 표시될 수 있다. 따라잡기 아이콘은 즐겨 찾기로 등록된 방송 프로그램의 이전 회차에 대응하는 방송 프로그램에 대한 정보를 제공하기 위한 아이콘일 수 있다. 따라잡기 아이콘에 대해서는 후술할 도 32 내지 도 42에서 설명될 실시 예가 적용될 수 있다.
각 프로그램 아이콘에는 해당 프로그램에 대한 정보가 표시될 수 있다. 이에 대해서는 도 14를 참조하여 설명한다.

썸네일 이미지(351a)는 해당 방송 프로그램에 대응하는 썸네일 이미지일 수 있다. 일 실시 예에서 썸네일 이미지는 해당 방송 프로그램에 등장하는 주요 인물을 포함할 수 있다. 제어부(170)는 썸네일 이미지 상에 포함된 주요 인물의 얼굴을 인식할 수 있고, 인식 결과에 기초하여 주요 인물의 얼굴이 프로그램 아이콘(351)의 중앙에 위치하도록 썸네일 이미지의 배치를 제어할 수 있다.

제1 이미지 카드(361)는 HDMI 1 단자에서 제공된 미디어 컨텐트에 대응하는 썸네일 이미지 및 외부 입력 단자의 명칭(HDMI 1), 외부 입력 단자에 연결된 단말기의 명칭(player)을 포함할 수 있다. 여기서, 단말기는 DVR, DVD, 게임기, 블루레이 플레이어 중 어느 하나일 수 있다.
제2 이미지 카드(362)는 최근에 실행된 어플리케이션에 대응하는 컨텐트 제공자로부터 제공된 미디어 컨텐트에 대응하는 썸네일 이미지, 컨텐트 제공자의 명칭(Netplix) 및 미디어 컨텐트의 명칭(love) 중 하나 이상을 포함할 수 있다.
제3 이미지 카드(363)는 WIDI(Wireless Display)를 통해 PC에서 제공된 미디어 컨텐트에 대응하는 썸네일 이미지 및 PC1 이라는 컨텐트 소스의 명칭을 포함할 수 있다. 제3 이미지 카드(363)는 PC1 이라는 컨텐트 소스의 명칭 이외에도 WIDI라는 통신 규격에 대한 정보도 더 포함할 수 있다.
제4 이미지 카드(364)는 스크린 미러링을 통해 스마트 폰과 같은 이동 단말기에서 제공된 미디어 컨텐트에 대응하는 썸네일 이미지 및 phone1 이라는 컨텐트 소스의 명칭을 포함할 수 있다. 제4 이미지 카드(364)는 phone 1 이라는 컨텐트 소스의 명칭 이외에도 miracast 라는 스크린 미러링 기술에 대한 정보도 더 포함할 수 있다.
제5 이미지 카드(365)는 USB 저장 매체에 저장된 미디어 컨텐트에 대응하는 썸네일 이미지 및 storage 1이라는 컨텐트 소스의 명칭을 포함할 수 있다. 제5 이미지 카드(365)는 storage 1 이라는 컨텐트 소스의 명칭 이외에도 USB 라는 통신 규격에 대한 정보 더 포함할 수 있다.
한편, 최근 접근 리스트(360)에는 최근 시청한 방송 프로그램에 대한 이미지 카드도 포함될 수 있다. 방송 프로그램이 일정 시간 이상 재생된 경우, 제어부(170)는 방송 프로그램에 대한 정보를 포함하는 이미지 카드를 최근 접근 리스트(360)에 포함시킬 수 있다. 이 경우, 방송 프로그램에 대한 정보는 방송 프로그램의 썸네일 이미지, 방송 프로그램의 명칭, 방송사 및 방송 프로그램의 채널 번호 중 하나 이상을 포함할 수 있다. 최근 접근 리스트(360)에는 최근 시청한 방송 프로그램에 대한 이미지 카드도 포함된 경우, 해당 이미지 카드 내에 또는 해당 이미지 카드의 일측에는 따라잡기 아이콘(미도시)이 더 표시될 수 있다. 따라잡기 아이콘은 해당 채널에서 제공되는 방송 프로그램의 이전 회차에 대응하는 방송 프로그램에 대한 정보를 제공하기 위한 아이콘일 수 있다. 따라잡기 아이콘에 대해서는 후술할 도 32 내지 도 42에서 설명될 실시 예가 적용될 수 있다.
최근 접근 리스트(360) 상에 어느 하나의 이미지 카드가 선택된 경우, 제어부(170)는 이미지 카드에 대응하는 미디어 컨텐트를 재생할 수 있다.
한편, 돌아가기 버튼(369)이 선택된 경우, 이전 화면으로 돌아갈 수 있다.
다음으로 도 23 내지 도 24를 설명한다.
도 23은 본 발명의 일 실시 예에 따라 최근 접근 리스트 상에서 이미지 카드를 삭제하는 실시 예를 설명하는 도면이고, 도 24는 최근 접근 리스트 상에서 이미지 카드를 즐겨 찾기로 등록하는 실시 예를 설명하는 도면이다.

도 24를 참조하면, 제1 이미지 카드(361)의 상 측에 배치된 즐겨 찾기 등록 아이콘(367)이 선택된 경우, 제어부(170)는 최근 접근 리스트(360)에 포함된 제1 이미지 카드(361)를 즐겨 찾기 목록에 추가시킬 수 있다. 제어부(170)는 제1 이미지 카드(361)를 즐겨 찾기 목록에 추가함과 동시에 제1 이미지 카드(361)가 즐겨 찾기 목록에 추가되었음을 알리는 메시지 창(392)을 화면(300) 상에 표시할 수 있다.
즐겨 찾기 목록은 별도의 메뉴 화면의 진입을 통해 출력되거나, 원격 제어 장치(200)에 구비된 특정 버튼의 입력에 따라 출력될 수 있다.

도 25는 본 발명의 일 실시 예에 따라 최근 접근 리스트 상에 포함된 이미지 카드의 위치를 변경하는 실시 예를 설명하는 도면이다.

즐겨 찾기 카드(810)의 일 측에는 즐겨 찾기 카드(810)를 식별하는 <Favorite> 이라는 명칭이 표시될 수 있다. 즐겨 찾기 카드(810)는 4개의 컨텐트 아이템들을 포함하고 있으나, 이는 예시에 불과하다. 즐겨 찾기 카드(810)에 포함된 4개의 컨텐트 아이템들은 후술할 즐겨 찾기 리스트(811) 상에서 배치된 컨텐트 아이템들 중 가장 좌측에 위치하는 4개의 아이템일 수 있다.
최근 접근 카드(830)는 하나 이상의 컨텐트 아이템들을 포함할 수 있다. 각컨텐트 아이템은 최근에 재생된 미디어 컨텐츠에 대한 정보, 최근에 실행된 어플리케이션에 대한 정보, 최근에 재생된 방송 프로그램에 대한 정보, 최근에 재생된 채널에 대한 정보 중 어느 하나를 포함할 수 있다. 최근 접근 카드(830)에는 도 22의 실시 예에서 설명된 이미지 카드들이 포함될 수 있다.
최근 접근 카드(830)의 일 측에는 최근 접근 카드(810)를 식별하는 <Recent> 라는 명칭이 표시될 수 있다. 최근 접근 카드(830)는 4개의 컨텐트 아이템들을 포함하고 있으나, 이는 예시에 불과하다. 최근 접근 카드(830)에 포함된 4개의 컨텐트 아이템들은 후술할 최근 접근 리스트(831) 상에서 배치된 컨텐트 아이템들 중 가장 좌측에 위치하는 4개의 아이템일 수 있다. 또 다른 예로, 가장 최근에 접근한 4개의 아이템일 수도 있다.
기본 서비스 리스트(850)는 복수의 아이콘들을 포함할 수 있다. 각 아이콘은 네트워크를 통해 컨텐트를 제공하는 컨텐트 제공자에 대응하는 아이콘, 디스플레이 장치(100)의 기능 설정을 위한 아이콘, 미디어 컨텐트 또는 어플리케이션의 검색을 위한 검색 아이콘 등을 포함할 수 있다.

즐겨 찾기 리스트(811)에는 즐겨 찾기 카드(810)에 포함된 컨텐트 아이템들의 개수보다 더 많은 개수의 컨텐트 아이템들이 포함될 수 있다.
제1 컨텐트 아이템(811a) 상에는 외부 입력의 명칭(HDMI 1), 외부 입력에 연결된 주변 기기의 명칭(player) 및 외부 입력을 통해 재생된 미디어 컨텐트의 썸네일 이미지 중 하나 이상이 표시될 수 있다. 제1 컨텐트 아이템(811a)은 도 24의 실시 예에서 즐겨 찾기로 추가된 제1 이미지 카드일 수 있다.
제2 컨텐트 아이템(811b) 상에는 방송 프로그램의 채널, 방송사, 방송 프로그램의 썸네일 이미지 중 하나 이상이 표시될 수 있다.
제3 컨텐트 아이템(811c) 상에는 어플리케이션의 명칭(또는 컨텐트 제공자의 명칭), 어플리케이션을 통해 재생된 미디어 컨텐트의 명칭(love) 및 미디어 컨텐트의 썸네일 이미지 중 하나 이상이 표시될 수 있다.
제4 컨텐트 아이템(811d)은 도 28의 실시 예에서 즐겨 찾기로 추가된 컨텐트 제공자 아이콘일 수 있다.
제5 컨텐트 아이템(811e) 상에는 도 20의 실시 예에서 즐겨 찾기로 추가된 채널에 대한 정보를 포함할 수 있다. 제5 컨텐트 아이템(811e)은 도 8 및 도 9에서 채널 아이콘일 수 있다.
제6 컨텐트 아이템(811f) 상에는 디스플레이 장치(100)와 무선 또는 유선을 통해 연결된 주변 기기의 명칭(phone 2), 주변 기기에 저장되어 디스플레이 장치(100)가 재생한 미디어 컨텐트에 대응하는 썸네일 이미지 중 하나 이상이 표시될 수 있다. 일 예로, 미디어 컨텐트는 스크링 미러링 기술을 통해 재생된 컨텐트일 수 있다.
즐겨 찾기 리스트(811)에 포함된 복수의 컨텐트 아이템들(811a 내지 811f)는 즐겨 찾기로 등록된 시점에 따라 배열될 수 있다. 즉, 제1 컨텐트 아이템(811a)은 가장 최근에 즐겨 찾기로 등록된 아이템이고, 제6 컨텐트 아이템(811f)은 가장 나중에 즐겨 찾기로 등록된 아이템일 수 있다. 각 컨텐트 아이템들의 위치는 사용자의 설정에 따라 달라질 수 있다. 컨텐트 아이템의 위치를 변경하는 예는 도 25에서 설명한 이미지 카드의 위치를 변경하는 방법과 동일할 수 있다.
한편, 도 30의 상태에서, 최근 접근 카드(830)를 선택하는 요청이 수신된 경우, 제어부(170)는 도 31에 도시된 바와 같이, 최근 접근 카드(830)에 속하는 복수의 컨텐트 아이템들을 포함하는 최근 접근 리스트(831)를 표시하도록 디스플레이부(180)를 제어할 수 있다. 동시에 제어부(170)는 기본 서비스 카드(851)의 위치를 서비스 표시 영역(320)의 가장 좌측으로 이동시킬 수 있다. 동시에 제어부(170)는 즐겨 찾기 리스트(811)를 즐겨 찾기 카드(810)로 변경하고, 기본 서비스 카드(851)에 뒤따르도록 즐겨 찾기 카드(810)를 배치시킬 수 있다. 동시에 제어부(170)는 최근 접근 카드(830)를 최근 접근 리스트(851)로 변경시키고, 즐겨 찾기 카드(810)에 뒤따르도록 배치시킬 수 있다.
최근 접근 리스트(831)에는 최근 접근 카드(830)에 포함된 컨텐트 아이템들의 개수 보다 더 많은 개수의 컨텐트 아이템들이 포함될 수 있다. 최근 접근 리스트(831)는 도 22 내지 도 25에서 설명된 최근 접근 리스트(360)와 동일할 수 있고, 도 22 내지 도 25의 실시 예가 적용될 수 있다. 즉, 최근 접근 리스트(831)에 포함된 컨텐트 아이템은 즐겨 찾기 추가 기능을 통해 즐겨 찾기 카드(810)에 추가될 수 있다. 또한, 최근 접근 리스트(831)에 포함된 컨텐트 아이템은 삭제 기능을 통해 최근 접근 리스트(831) 상에서 삭제될 수 있다.
도 32는 본 발명의 또 다른 실시 예에 따른 디스플레이 장치의 동작 방법을 설명하기 위한 흐름도이다.
먼저, 디스플레이 장치(100)의 제어부(170)는 전자 프로그램 가이드(Electronic Program Guide, EPG)를 출력한다(S3201). 전자 프로그램 가이드는 시청자가 방송 프로그램에 대한 정보 및 부가 서비스에 대한 정보를 안내하는 메뉴 화면일 수 있다. 일 실시 예에서, 제어부(170)는 원격 제어 장치(200)로부터 수신된 명령에 따라 디스플레이부(180)를 통해 전자 프로그램 가이드를 출력할 수 있다. 즉, 원격 제어 장치(200)는 전자 프로그램 가이드 보기 버튼을 구비할 수 있고, 전자 프로그램 가이드 보기 버튼이 선택된 경우, 제어부(170)는 전자 프로그램 가이드를 디스플레이부(180)를 통해 표시할 수 있다.
또 다른 실시 예에서, 제어부(170)는 도 6에 도시된 서비스 표시 영역(320)에 포함된 전자 프로그램 가이드 보기 아이콘(미도시)를 선택하는 명령에 따라 전자 프로그램 가이드를 디스플레이부(180)를 통해 표시할 수 있다.
디스플레이 장치(100)의 제어부(170)는 출력된 전자 프로그램 가이드 상에 따라잡기 아이콘을 선택하는 요청을 수신하는지 확인하고(S3203), 따라잡기 아이콘을 선택하는 요청이 수신된 경우, 해당 방송 프로그램의 이전 회차에 대한 정보를 제공한다(S3205).
전자 프로그램 가이드는 일반 채널에 대한 정보 및 가상 채널에 대한 정보를 포함할 수 있다. 일반 채널은 방송사가 방송 프로그램을 제공하는 채널일 수 있다. 일 실시 예에서 가상 채널은 특정 컨텐트 제공자, 또는 TV 제조사를 통해 미디어 컨텐트가 제공되는 채널일 수 있다. 또 다른 실시 예에서 가상 채널은 컨텐트 제공자, TV 제조사에 관계 없이, 사용자의 시청 이력에 기초하여 생성된 채널일 수 있다. 사용자의 시청 이력은 사용자가 가장 많이 시청한 컨텐트의 장르를 반영할 수 있다. 또 다른 실시 예에서 가상 채널에서 제공될 미디어 컨텐트를 사용자의 편집 입력에 따라 결정될 수 있다. 또 다른 실시 예에서 가상 체널에서 제공될 미디어 컨텐츠는 하나의 장르에 속할 수 있다.
사용자는 가상 채널에 대한 정보를 통해 일반 채널에서 제공되는 방송 프로그램들뿐만 아니라, 가상 채널에서 바로 시청 가능한 미디어 컨텐츠를 함께 비교해 볼 수 있다. 이에 따라 사용자는 자신의 시청 계획을 유연하게 세울 수 있고, 라이브 방송 만이 아니라 더 넓은 범위의 미디어 컨텐츠를 시청할 수 있다.
전자 프로그램 가이드는 각 채널 마다 시간의 흐름에 따라 제공되는 방송 프로그램 또는 미디어 컨텐트에 대한 정보를 포함할 수 있다. 본 발명의 일 실시 예에 따르면, 일반 채널에 대한 정보는 해당 채널에서 제공하는 방송 프로그램의 이전 회차에 대한 정보를 포함할 수 있다.
전자 프로그램 가이드에 대해서는 도 33을 참조하여 자세히 설명한다.
도 33은 본 발명의 일 실시 예에 따른 전자 프로그램 가이드의 구성을 설명하는 도면이다.
도 33을 참조하면, 디스플레이 장치(100)는 방송 프로그램의 재생 중 전자 프로그램 가이드를 표시하기 위한 요청을 수신하고, 수신된 요청에 따라 화면(300) 상에 전자 프로그램 가이드(3300)를 표시할 수 있다. 전자 프로그램 가이드(3300)는 화면(300) 상에 재생 중인 방송 프로그램에 중첩되어 표시될 수 있다.
전자 프로그램 가이드(3300)는 일반 채널 영역(3310) 및 가상 채널 영역(3330)을 포함할 수 있다. 일반 채널 영역(3310)에는 각 일반 채널에서 제공되는 방송 프로그램들이 시간의 흐름에 따라 배치될 수 있다. 가상 채널 영역(3330)에는 각 가상 채널에서 제공되는 미디어 컨텐츠 또는 방송 프로그램들이 시간의 흐름에 따라 배치될 수 있다.
일반 채널 영역(3310)은 일반 채널 리스트 영역(3311) 및 방송 프로그램 리스트 영역(3313)을 포함할 수 있다. 일반 채널 리스트 영역(3311)은 일반 채널에 대한 정보를 제공하기 위한 영역일 수 있다. 일반 채널 리스트 영역(3311)은 복수의 일반 채널들 각각을 제공하는 방송사의 명칭, 일반 채널의 번호를 포함할 수 있다. 방송 프로그램 리스트 영역(3313)은 각 일반 채널에서 시간 순서에 따라 제공되는 방송 프로그램들에 대한 정보를 포함할 수 있다. 방송 프로그램에 대한 정보는 방송 프로그램의 방영 시간, 방송 프로그램의 명칭, 방송 프로그램의 상세 정보를 제공하기 위한 정보 아이콘을 포함할 수 있다. 이에 대해서는 후술한다.
가상 채널 영역(3330)은 가상 채널 리스트 영역(3331) 및 미디어 컨텐트 리스트 영역(3333)을 포함할 수 있다. 가상 채널 리스트 영역(3331)은 가상 채널에 대한 정보를 제공하기 위한 영역일 수 있다. 가상 채널 리스트 영역(3331)은 복수의 가상 채널들 각각에 대응하는 미디어 컨텐츠의 장르, 복수의 가상 채널들 각각을 제공하는 컨텐트 제공자의 명칭 중 어느 하나 이상을 포함할 수 있다. 미디어 컨텐트 리스트 영역(3333)은 각 가상 채널에서 시간 순서에 따라 제공되는 미디어 컨텐트에 대한 정보를 포함할 수 있다. 미디어 컨텐트에 대한 정보는 미디어 컨텐트의 방영 시간, 미디어 컨텐트의 명칭, 미디어 컨텐트의 상세 정보를 제공하기 위한 정보 아이콘을 포함할 수 있다.
일반 채널 리스트 영역(3313)은 복수의 방송 프로그램 영역들을 포함할 수 있다. 각 방송 프로그램 영역은 방송 프로그램의 명칭 및 정보 아이콘 중 하나 이상을 포함할 수 있다. 예를 들어, 제1 방송 프로그램 영역(3350)은 <Marvels Agents of SHIELD Season 2 Episode 2>라는 방송 프로그램의 명칭(3351) 및 따라잡기 아이콘(3353)을 포함할 수 있다. 방송 프로그램 영역에 대해서는 도 34 내지 도 36를 참조하여 상세히 설명한다.

먼저, 도 34의 (a)를 참조하면, 제1 방송 프로그램 영역(3350)은 방송 프로그램의 명칭(3351) 및 따라잡기 아이콘(3353)을 포함할 수 있다. 제1 방송 프로그램 영역(3350)은 방송 프로그램 명칭(3351)에 대응하는 영역 및 따라잡기 아이콘(3353)에 대응하는 영역으로 구분될 수 있다. 방송 프로그램의 명칭(3351)을 선택하는 요청이 수신된 경우, 제어부(170)은 채널을 선택된 방송 프로그램의 명칭(3351)에 대응하는 방송 프로그램의 채널로 변경하고, 해당 방송 프로그램을 재생할 수 있다. 따라잡기 아이콘(3353)을 선택하는 요청이 수신된 경우, 제어부(170)는 따라잡기 기능에 대한 정보가 포함된 해당 방송 프로그램의 상세 정보를 표시할 수 있다.
도 34의 (b)를 참조하면, 제1 방송 프로그램 영역(3350)은 즐겨 찾기 아이콘(3354)을 더 포함할 수 있다. 즐겨 찾기 아이콘(3354)은 해당 방송 프로그램을 즐겨 찾기 목록에 추가하기 위한 아이콘일 수 있다. 즐겨 찾기 아이콘(3354)이 선택된 경우, 제어부(170)는 해당 방송 프로그램 또는 해당 방송 프로그램의 회차를 즐겨 찾기 목록에 추가할 수 있다. 즐겨 찾기 아이콘(3354)은 일반 채널 리스트 영역(3311) 및 가상 채널 리스트 영역(3331) 중 어느 하나에도 표시될 수 있다.
다음으로 도 35 내지 도 36을 설명한다.
도 35에서 따라잡기 아이콘(3353)이 선택된 경우, 제어부(170)는 도 35에 도시된 바와 같이, 제1 방송 프로그램 영역(3350)을 제1 방송 프로그램 확장 영역(3560)으로 변경하여 표시할 수 있다. 전자 프로그램 가이드(3300) 상에서는 제1 방송 프로그램 확장 영역(3560)이 도 36에 도시된 바와 같이 표시될 수 있다. 도 36에서는 도 35의 (a)를 예로 들어 제1 방송 프로그램 확장 영역(3560)을 표시하였으나, 도 35의 (b)에 도시된 예도 표시될 수 있다.

먼저, 도 35의 (a)를 참조하면, 제1 방송 프로그램 확장 영역(3560)은 해당 방송 프로그램의 방송 정보를 제공하는 방송 정보 버튼(3561), 녹화 버튼(3563) 및 따라잡기 버튼(3565)를 포함할 수 있다. 방송 정보 버튼(3561) 상에는 방송 프로그램의 명칭 및 방송 프로그램의 줄거리를 포함할 수 있다. 방송 정보 버튼(3561)이 선택된 경우, 제어부(170)는 채널을 선택된 방송 정보 버튼(3561)에 대응하는 방송 프로그램의 채널로 변경하고, 해당 방송 프로그램을 재생할 수 있다. 녹화 버튼(3563)이 선택된 경우, 제어부(170)는 라이브로 방영되고 있는 해당 방송 프로그램을 녹화할 수 있다. 따라잡기 버튼(3565)이 선택된 경우, 제어부(170)는 해당 방송 프로그램에 대한 상세 정보를 제공함과 동시에 해당 방송 프로그램의 이전 회차를 시청할 수 있는 기능을 제공할 수 있다. 이에 대해서는 후술한다.

사용자는 따라잡기 기능을 통해 해당 방송 프로그램의 이전 회차를 바로 시청 가능하다. 종래의 전자 프로그램 가이드는 방송 프로그램에 대한 일반적인 정보만을 보여주고 있으나, 본 발명의 실시 예에 따르면, 따라잡기(catch up) 기능을 전자 프로그램 가이드 상에 추가하여 선택한 방송 프로그램의 과거 방송분을 손쉽게 시청할 수 있는 기능을 제공한다. 또한, 본 발명의 실시 예에 따르면, 주어지는 대로 시청하던 과거의 시청 형태와는 달리 자신이 원하는 방송 프로그램만을 선택하여 이어보는 최근 시청 패턴에 따라 사용자에게는 자신이 원하는 방송 프로그램의 과거 방송분을 이어서 몰아서 볼 수 있는 기회가 제공될 수 있다.
한편, 해당 방송 프로그램에 따라잡기 기능이 지원되지 않는 경우, 따라잡기 아이콘은 방송 프로그램 영역에 표시되지 않을 수 있다. 해당 방송 프로그램에 따라잡기 기능이 지원되지 않는 경우, 제어부(170)는 따라잡기 아이콘을 표시하지 않고, 정보 아이콘을 표시하도록 디스플레이부(180)를 제어할 수 있다. 이에 대해서는 도 38을 참조하여 설명한다.
도 38은 본 발명의 또 다른 실시 예에 따라 방송 프로그램에 따라잡기 기능을 지원하지 않는 경우, 방송 프로그램 영역에서 제공되는 정보를 설명하는 도면이다.

본 발명의 또 다른 실시 예에 따르면, 정보 아이콘(3803)이 선택된 경우, 제어부(170)는 해당 방송 프로그램의 이전 회차를 제공 가능한 컨텐트 제공자 리스트를 표시할 수 있다. 컨텐트 제공자 리스트를 통해 어느 하나의 컨텐트 제공자가 선택되면, 제어부(170)는 해당 컨텐트 제공자에 접속하여 해당 방송 프로그램 이전 회차에 대한 정보를 제공할 수 있다.

디스플레이 장치(100)의 제어부(170)는 제공된 방송 프로그램의 이전 회차에 대한 정보에 기초하여 이전 회차의 방송 프로그램의 재생 요청을 수신하는지를 확인하고(S3207), 이전 회차의 방송 프로그램의 재생 요청을 수신한 경우, 이전 회차의 방송 프로그램을 재생한다(S3209). 이에 대해서는 도 33 내지 도 37에서 상세한 내용을 설명하였다.
디스플레이 장치(100)의 제어부(170)는 이전 회차의 방송 프로그램을 재생하면서 방송 프로그램의 예약 녹화, 실시간 녹화 중 어느 하나를 수행한다(S3211). 단계 S3209 및 S3211은 동시에 수행될 수 있다. 구체적으로, 따라잡기 기능에 따라 이전 회차의 방송 프로그램이 재생된 경우, 제어부(170)는 현재 시간 및 재생된 이전 회차의 방송 프로그램을 인식하고, 라이브 방송 프로그램을 예약 녹화 또는 실시간 녹화 중 어느 하나의 기능을 실행할 수 있다. 이에 대해서는 도 40 내지 도 42를 참조하여 설명한다.

도 40을 참조하면, 이전 회차의 방송 프로그램 X-1화가 재생 요청에 따라 09:30(현재 시간)부터 재생 중이다. 다음 회차인 방송 프로그램 X화의 방영 예정 시간은 10:00이다. 이전 회차의 방송 프로그램 X-1화의 재생 중 다음 회차의 방송 프로그램 X화의 방영 시간 10:00가 도래한 경우, 제어부(170)는 X화를 자동으로 녹화할 수 있다. 즉, 따라잡기 기능에 따라 이전 회차의 방송 프로그램이 재생되고, 다음 회차의 방송 프로그램이 방영 예정인 경우, 제어부(170)는 방영 예정인 다음 회차의 방송 프로그램에 대해 예약 녹화 기능을 수행할 수 있다. 추후, 다음 회차의 방송 프로그램의 방영이 시작된 경우, 제어부(170)는 설정된 예약 녹화 기능에 따라 다음 회차의 방송 프로그램을 녹화할 수 있다. 이전 회차의 방송 프로그램 X-1화의 재생이 종료된 경우, 제어부(170)는 녹화된 다음 회차의 방송 프로그램 X화를 바로 재생할 수 있다. 사용자는 시리즈물의 방송 프로그램을 끊김 없이 시청할 수 있다.

일 실시 예에서 제어부(170)는 도 43 내지 도 47에 도시된 컨텐트 제공자 리스트 상에서 어느 하나의 컨텐트 제공자를 선택하는 요청을 수신하고, 수신된 요청에 따라 선택된 컨텐트 제공자를 통해 제공된 미디어 컨텐트를 재생할 수 있다.
또 다른 실시 예에서 제어부(170)는 컨텐트 제공자 리스트를 표시하지 않고, 구매 가격이 가장 싼 컨텐트 제공자에 접속하여 해당 미디어 컨텐트를 재생할 수 있다.
또 다른 실시 예에서 제어부(170)는 컨텐트 제공자 리스트를 표시하지 않고, 네트워크 속도가 가장 빠른 컨텐트 제공자에 접속하여 해당 미디어 컨텐트를 재생할 수 있다.
또 다른 실시 예에서 제어부(170)는 컨텐트 제공자 리스트를 표시하지 않고, 접속 횟수가 가장 많은 컨텐트 제공자에 접속하여 해당 미디어 컨텐트를 재생할 수 있다.
또 다른 실시 예에서 제어부(170)는 컨텐트 제공자 리스트를 표시하지 않고, 가입된 컨텐트 제공자에 접속하여 해당 미디어 컨텐트를 재생할 수 있다.
본 발명의 일 실시예에 의하면, 전술한 방법은, 프로그램이 기록된 매체에 프로세서가 읽을 수 있는 코드로서 구현하는 것이 가능하다. 프로세서가 읽을 수 있는 매체의 예로는, ROM, RAM, CD-ROM, 자기 테이프, 플로피 디스크, 광 데이터 저장장치 등이 있으며, 캐리어 웨이브(예를 들어, 인터넷을 통한 전송)의 형태로 구현되는 것도 포함한다.
상기와 같이 설명된 디스플레이 장치는 상기 설명된 실시예들의 구성과 방법이 한정되게 적용될 수 있는 것이 아니라, 상기 실시예들은 다양한 변형이 이루어질 수 있도록 각 실시예들의 전부 또는 일부가 선택적으로 조합되어 구성될 수도 있다.

Claims (15)

  1. 디스플레이 장치에 있어서,
    복수의 아이콘들을 표시하는 디스플레이부;
    원격 제어 장치로부터 상기 디스플레이 장치의 동작을 제어하기 위한 요청을 수신하는 입력 인터페이스부; 및
    상기 디스플레이부 및 상기 입력 인터페이스부를 제어하는 제어부를 포함하고,
    상기 제어부는
    방송 프로그램을 재생하고, 상기 방송 프로그램의 재생 중 상기 복수의 아이콘들 중 즐겨 찾기 아이콘이 선택된 경우, 즐겨 찾기 채널 목록 및 즐겨 찾기 프로그램 목록 중 하나 이상을 표시하는
    디스플레이 장치.
  2. 제1항에 있어서,
    상기 제어부는
    상기 재생 중인 방송 프로그램을 상기 즐겨 찾기 프로그램 목록에 추가시키기 위한 프로그램 추가 아이템 및
    상기 재생 중인 방송 프로그램의 채널을 상기 즐겨 찾기 채널 목록에 추가시키기 위한 채널 추가 아이템을 더 표시하는
    디스플레이 장치.
  3. 제2항에 있어서,
    상기 제어부는
    상기 방송 프로그램의 재생 중 상기 프로그램 추가 아이템을 선택하는 요청에 따라 상기 방송 프로그램을 상기 즐겨 찾기 프로그램 목록에 추가하는
    디스플레이 장치.
  4. 제2항에 있어서,
    상기 제어부는
    상기 방송 프로그램의 재생 중 상기 채널 추가 아이템을 선택하는 요청에 따라 상기 방송 프로그램의 채널을 상기 즐겨 찾기 채널 목록에 추가하는
    디스플레이 장치.
  5. 제1항에 있어서,
    상기 제어부는
    즐겨 찾기 아이콘을 선택하는 요청을 수신함에 따라 즐겨 찾기 목록에 진입하기 위한 즐겨 찾기 목록 진입 버튼을 출력하고,
    상기 즐겨 찾기 목록 진입 버튼은
    상기 즐겨 찾기 프로그램 목록을 제공하기 위한 즐겨 찾기 프로그램 버튼 및
    상기 즐겨 찾기 채널 목록을 제공하기 위한 즐겨 찾기 채널 버튼을 포함하는
    디스플레이 장치.
  6. 제5항에 있어서,
    상기 즐겨 찾기 프로그램 버튼 상에는 상기 즐겨 찾기 프로그램 목록 상에 포함된 프로그램들 중 어느 하나의 프로그램에 대응하는 썸네일 이미지가 표시된
    디스플레이 장치.
  7. 제5항에 있어서,
    상기 제어부는
    상기 즐겨 찾기 프로그램 버튼을 선택하는 요청에 따라 상기 즐겨 찾기 프로그램 목록을 출력하고,
    상기 즐겨 찾기 프로그램 목록은
    즐겨 찾기된 프로그램들 각각에 대응하는 복수의 프로그램 아이콘들 및 프로그램 추가 아이콘을 포함하고,
    각 프로그램 아이콘은
    프로그램에 대응하는 썸네일 이미지, 프로그램을 설명하는 상세 정보를 포함하는
    디스플레이 장치.
  8. 제7항에 있어서,
    상기 제어부는
    상기 프로그램 추가 아이콘을 선택하는 요청에 따라 상기 즐겨 찾기 프로그램 목록 상에 추가될 프로그램을 검색하기 위한 검색 화면을 출력하는
    디스플레이 장치.
  9. 제5항에 있어서,
    상기 제어부는
    상기 즐겨 찾기 채널 버튼을 선택하는 요청에 따라 상기 즐겨 찾기 채널 목록을 출력하고,
    상기 즐겨 찾기 채널 목록은
    즐겨 찾기된 채널들 각각에 대응하는 복수의 채널 아이콘들 및 채널 추가 아이콘을 포함하고,
    각 채널 아이콘은
    해당 채널의 명칭, 해당 채널에서 방송 중인 프로그램의 진행 상황을 보여주는 프로그래스 바 및 해당 채널의 번호 및 해당 채널에서 방송 중인 방송 프로그램의 명칭을 포함하는
    디스플레이 장치.
  10. 제9항에 있어서,
    상기 제어부는
    상기 채널 추가 아이콘을 선택하는 요청에 따라 상기 즐겨 찾기 채널 목록 상에 추가될 채널을 검색하기 위한 검색 화면을 출력하는
    디스플레이 장치.
  11. 제1항에 있어서,
    상기 제어부는
    상기 복수의 아이콘들 중 recent 아이콘이 선택된 경우, 최근에 재생된 미디어 컨텐트에 대한 정보를 표시하는
    디스플레이 장치.
  12. 제11항에 있어서,
    상기 미디어 컨텐트에 대한 정보는
    최근에 재생된 미디어 컨텐트에 대응하는 썸네일 이미지 및 상기 미디어 컨텐트를 제공한 소스를 식별하는 정보를 포함하는
    디스플레이 장치.
  13. 제11항에 있어서,
    상기 제어부는
    상기 미디어 컨텐트에 대한 정보를 포함하는 이미지 카드 및 즐겨 찾기 등록 아이콘을 더 표시하고, 상기 즐겨 찾기 등록 아이콘이 선택됨에 따라 상기 이미지 카드를 즐겨 찾기 목록에 추가하는
    디스플레이 장치.
  14. 제1항에 있어서,
    상기 제어부는
    상기 복수의 아이콘들 중 스크롤 아이콘이 선택된 경우, 컨텐트 제공자 아이콘들을 더 표시하고,
    기존에 표시된 상기 복수의 아이콘들의 크기를 감소시키는
    디스플레이 장치.
  15. 제1항에 있어서,
    상기 제어부는
    상기 원격 제어 장치의 움직임에 대응하여 이동하는 포인터가 상기 복수의 아이콘들 중 특정 아이콘 상에 위치한 경우, 즐겨 찾기 등록 아이콘을 더 표시하고,
    상기 즐겨 찾기 등록 아이콘이 선택됨에 따라 상기 특정 아이콘을 즐겨 찾기 목록에 추가하는
    디스플레이 장치.
