Abstract

Description
A DISHWASHER
The present invention relates to a portable dishwasher that can be mounted to the wall.
Portable dishwashers that are suitable to be used over the kitchen counter are known in the state of the art. In this type of dishwashers, chambers wherein water is stored are used so as not to occupy the kitchen faucet. Since the chambers are small, the user fills in the chamber, the washing water is discharged after the washing step is completed and the user has to fill in the chamber again for the rinsing step. In dishwashers where water is stored for both the washing and rinsing steps, the chambers wherein water is stored are as big as the washing tub wherein the washing operation is performed and the dishwasher loses its feature of portability. Moreover, in this type of dishwashers, water is received from the same chamber in the washing and rinsing steps which may cause water to be used in rinsing to be mixed with water used in washing and to get dirty.
In the state of the art European Patent Application No. EP2184000, a portable dishwasher is disclosed, comprising a detachable tank wherein the water used for washing is stored.
In the state of the art European Patent Application No. EP2283760, an operating method is disclosed, wherein the washing process is controlled according to the pressure exerted by the water in the chamber on the ducts in a portable dishwasher. In the state of the art International Patent Application No. WO2006056514, a portable dishwasher is disclosed, that comprises a reservoir integrated within the device chassis.
The aim of the present invention is the realization of a dishwasher that stores the washing and rinsing water by effectively using the occupied space.
The dishwasher realized in order to attain the aim of the present invention, explicated in the first claim and the respective claims thereof, comprises a control unit that opens the valve between the washing reservoir and the rinsing reservoir while the water is being filled in, closes the valve during the washing process and opens the valve again during the rinsing step. By means of the present invention, the user is enabled to fill in both the washing and rinsing water into the dishwasher at one time and the washing water is
prevented from being mixed into the rinsing water during the washing step. In the rinsing step, the water in the rinsing reservoir is delivered into the washing reservoir by opening the valve and the rinsing process is performed.
In an embodiment of the present invention, the rinsing reservoir is adjacent to the washing reservoir wherein the washing water is stored. The two reservoirs being adjacent to each other provides saving of space. The water in the two reservoirs is prevented from mixing with each other by means of the valve disposed between the washing reservoir and the rinsing reservoir.
In another embodiment of the present invention, the base of the rinsing reservoir is inclined so that the water therein can flow into the washing reservoir. By means of this embodiment, using components like a pump is not required for transferring the water to be used in rinsing into the washing reservoir after the washing step is completed and the water used in washing is discharged, and the water to be used in rinsing is delivered into the washing reservoir with the effect of gravity without consuming energy. In an embodiment of the present invention, the rinsing reservoir is disposed under the washing tub together with the washing reservoir.
In another embodiment of the present invention, the rinsing reservoir is disposed at a higher level than the washing reservoir. By means of this embodiment, the rinsing water is enabled to be transferred easily to the washing reservoir and the risk of the rinsing water mixing with the washing water is decreased.
In another embodiment of the present invention, the rinsing reservoir is disposed in a gap arranged between the side wall of the body and the side wall of the washing tub and thus the volume of the dishwasher is used effectively. At the same time, the water stored in the rinsing reservoir is heated for a certain amount with the heat in the washing tub and thus energy saving is provided.
In another embodiment of the present invention, the rinsing reservoir is configured to entirely surround the washing tub. By means of this embodiment, the hollow structure of the body is used maximally, and the volume of the dishwasher is used effectively and the water can be stored for washing and rinsing.
In another embodiment of the present invention, the valve functions directionally so as to allow passage of water only from the rinsing reservoir to the washing reservoir. By means of this embodiment, the water in the rinsing reservoir is prevented from getting dirty by the washing water. In another embodiment of the present invention, the valve functions bidirectionally such that water is transferred from the washing reservoir to the rinsing reservoir and from the rinsing reservoir to the washing reservoir.
By means of the present invention, while the size of the dishwasher is kept small, the entire amount of water to be used in washing and rinsing is filled at one time and stored and at the same time the water used in the washing and rinsing steps is prevented from mixing with each other. The dishwasher (1) comprises a body (2), a washing tub (3) that is disposed in the body (2), wherein the washing process is performed, a washing reservoir (4) that is disposed immediately under the washing tub (3) and wherein the water used in the washing step is stored, a rinsing reservoir (5) wherein the water used in the rinsing step is stored, a water delivery line (6) situated between the washing reservoir (4) and the rinsing reservoir (4), and a valve (7) disposed on the delivery line (6). The washing reservoir (4) and the washing tub (3) are fluidly connected to each other and when the washing process is performed, the water in the washing reservoir (4) is delivered into the washing tub (3).
The dishwasher (1) of the present invention comprises a control unit (8) that opens the valve (7) while water is filled in to transfer the water from the washing reservoir (4) to the rinsing reservoir (5) or from the rinsing reservoir (5) to the washing reservoir (4) and that closes the valve (7) during the washing process to store the water in the rinsing reservoir (5) and that opens the valve (7) during the rinsing process to transfer the water from the rinsing reservoir (5) to the washing reservoir (4). In the dishwasher (1) of the present invention, the water used in the rinsing step is enabled to be stored in the rinsing reservoir (5) and the user does not have to fill in water into the washing reservoir (4) again for the rinsing step after the washing step is completed. While the water for the washing and rinsing steps is being filled, the control unit (8) enables the water to be filled both in the washing reservoir (4) and the rinsing reservoir (5) by opening the valve (7). When the washing process begins, the valve (7) is closed and the water used in washing and rinsing is enabled to be separated from one another. The control unit (8) opens the valve (7) during the rinsing step and enables the water stored in the rinsing reservoir (5) to be delivered into the washing reservoir (4) after the water used in the washing step is discharged after washing and the delivered water is enabled to be used in rinsing the dishes.
In an embodiment of the present invention, the rinsing reservoir (5) is adjacent to the washing reservoir (4) (Figure 1).
In another embodiment of the present invention, at least some portion of the rinsing reservoir (5) base is inclined towards the washing reservoir (4). In this embodiment, using components like a pump for delivering water to be used in the rinsing step to the washing reservoir (4) is not required, the water in the rinsing reservoir (5) is enabled to flow towards the washing reservoir (4) by the effect of gravity when the valve (7) is opened since the base of the rinsing reservoir (5) is inclined. Thus, energy saving is provided in the dishwasher (1) (Figure 1). In another embodiment of the present invention, the rinsing reservoir (5) and the washing reservoir (4) are disposed immediately under the washing tub (3) (Figure 1).
In another embodiment of the present invention, the lower surface of the rinsing reservoir (5) is at a higher level than the lower surface of the washing reservoir (4). In this embodiment, delivering the water stored in the rinsing reservoir (5) to the washing reservoir (4) is facilitated and moreover mixing of the washing water and the rinsing water in any way with each other is prevented (Figure 1 and Figure 2).
In another embodiment of the present invention, the dishwasher (1) comprises a gap (9) arranged between the side wall of the body (2) and the side wall of the washing tub (3) and the rinsing reservoir (5) is placed in the gap (9). By means of this embodiment, the rinsing reservoir (5) has an elongated configuration and the volume occupied by the dishwasher (1) is used effectively (Figure 2).
In another embodiment of the present invention, the rinsing reservoir (5) surrounds the washing reservoir (4). By means of this embodiment, the volume occupied by the dishwasher (1) is used effectively by making use of the gap (9) between the body (2) and the washing tub (3) to a large extent (Figure 3).
In another embodiment of the present invention, the valve (7) is unidirectional so that water passage is allowed from the rinsing reservoir (5), wherein the user fills water, to the washing reservoir (4). In this embodiment, water passage in any way from the washing reservoir (4) to the rinsing reservoir (5) is prevented, enabling the rinsing water to stay clean. Furthermore, in this embodiment, in the case the washing tub (3) is dirty
and when the user fills the washing reservoir (4) through the washing tub (3), the dirt in the washing tub (3) is prevented from passing into the rinsing reservoir (5) and the rinsing reservoir (5) is enabled to be kept clean.
In a version of this embodiment, the user provides the filling of both the rinsing reservoir (5) and the washing reservoir (4) by only pouring water into the rinsing reservoir (5).
In another embodiment of the present invention, the valve (7) is bidirectional such that water passage from the rinsing reservoir (5) to the washing reservoir (4) or from the washing reservoir (4) to the rinsing reservoir (5) is allowed. By means of this embodiment, while the water is filled, both reservoirs are filled with water regardless of filling water into the washing reservoir (4) or the rinsing reservoir (5).
In the dishwasher (1) of the present invention, the water to be used in the rinsing step is enabled to be stored in the rinsing reservoir (5) by using the space occupied by the dishwasher (1) effectively and furthermore the water to be used in rinsing is prevented from being mixed with the dirty water used in the washing step. By designing the base of the rinsing reservoir (5) in inclined configuration, energy is saved in transferring the water to be used in rinsing to the washing reservoir (4).

(4) that is disposed immediately under the washing tub (3) and wherein the water used in the washing step is stored, a rinsing reservoir
(5) wherein the water used in the rinsing step is stored, a water delivery line (6) situated between the washing reservoir (4) and the rinsing reservoir (4), and a valve (7) disposed on the delivery line
(6), characterized by a control unit (8) that opens the valve (7) while water is filled in to transfer the water from the washing reservoir (4) to the rinsing reservoir (5) or from the rinsing reservoir (5) to the washing reservoir (4) and that closes the valve
(7) during the washing process to store the water in the rinsing reservoir (5) and that opens the valve (7) during the rinsing process to transfer the water from the rinsing reservoir (5) to the washing reservoir (4).
2- A dishwasher (1) as in Claim 1, characterized by the rinsing reservoir (5) that is adjacent to the washing reservoir (4).
3- A dishwasher (1) as in any one of the above claims, characterized by the rinsing reservoir (5), at least some portion of the base of which is inclined towards the washing reservoir (4).
4- A dishwasher (1) as in any one of the above claims, characterized by the rinsing reservoir (5) and the washing reservoir (4) that are disposed immediately under the washing tub (3).
5- A dishwasher (1) as in any one of the above claims, characterized by the rinsing reservoir (5), the lower surface of which is at a higher level than the lower surface of the washing reservoir (4). 6- A dishwasher (1) as in any one of the Claims 1 to 3, characterized by a gap (9) arranged between the side wall of the body (2) and the side wall of the washing tub (3) and the rinsing reservoir (5) that is placed in the gap (9).
7- A dishwasher (6) as in Claim 6, characterized by the rinsing reservoir (5) that surrounds the washing tub (3).
8- A dishwasher (1) as in any one of the above claims, characterized by the unidirectional valve (7) that allows passage of water from the rinsing reservoir (5), wherein the user fills water, to the washing reservoir (4).
9- A dishwasher (1) as in any one of the Claims 1 to 7, characterized by the bidirectional valve (7) that allows passage of water from the rinsing reservoir (5) to the washing reservoir (4) and from the washing reservoir (4) to the rinsing reservoir (5).
