Abstract

Description

광대역에서의 클리어 채널 할당을 위한 무선 통신 방법 및 이를 이용한 무선 통신 단말
본 발명은 광대역에서의 클리어 채널 할당을 위한 무선 통신 방법 및 이를 이용한 무선 통신 단말로서, 더욱 상세하게는 광대역 채널을 사용하는 단말의 채널 접근 확률을 효율적으로 높이기 위한 무선 통신 방법 및 무선 통신 단말에 관한 것이다.
최근 모바일 기기의 보급이 확대됨에 따라 이들에게 빠른 무선 인터넷 서비스를 제공할 수 있는 무선랜(Wireless LAN) 기술이 많은 각광을 받고 있다. 무선랜 기술은 근거리에서 무선 통신 기술을 바탕으로 스마트 폰, 스마트 패드, 랩탑 컴퓨터, 휴대형 멀티미디어 플레이어, 임베디드 기기 등과 같은 모바일 기기들을 가정이나 기업 또는 특정 서비스 제공지역에서 무선으로 인터넷에 접속할 수 있도록 하는 기술이다.
IEEE(Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers) 802.11은 2.4GHz 주파수를 이용한 초기의 무선랜 기술을 지원한 이래, 다양한 기술의 표준을 실용화 또는 개발 중에 있다. 먼저, IEEE 802.11b는 2.4GHz 밴드의 주파수를 사용하면서 최고 11Mbps의 통신 속도를 지원한다. IEEE 802.11b 이후에 상용화된 IEEE 802.11a는 2.4GHz 밴드가 아닌 5GHz 밴드의 주파수를 사용함으로써 상당히 혼잡한 2.4GHz 밴드의 주파수에 비해 간섭에 대한 영향을 줄였으며, OFDM 기술을 사용하여 통신 속도를 최대 54Mbps까지 향상시켰다. 그러나 IEEE 802.11a는 IEEE 802.11b에 비해 통신 거리가 짧은 단점이 있다. 그리고 IEEE 802.11g는 IEEE 802.11b와 마찬가지로 2.4GHz 밴드의 주파수를 사용하여 최대 54Mbps의 통신속도를 구현하며, 하위 호환성(backward compatibility)을 만족하고 있어 상당한 주목을 받았는데, 통신 거리에 있어서도 IEEE 802.11a보다 우위에 있다.
그리고 무선랜에서 취약점으로 지적되어온 통신 속도에 대한 한계를 극복하기 위하여 제정된 기술 규격으로서 IEEE 802.11n이 있다. IEEE 802.11n은 네트워크의 속도와 신뢰성을 증가시키고, 무선 네트워크의 운영 거리를 확장하는데 목적을 두고 있다. 보다 구체적으로, IEEE 802.11n에서는 데이터 처리 속도가 최대 540Mbps 이상인 고처리율(High Throughput, HT)을 지원하며, 또한 전송 에러를 최소화하고 데이터 속도를 최적화하기 위해 송신부와 수신부 양단 모두에 다중 안테나를 사용하는 MIMO(Multiple Inputs and Multiple Outputs) 기술에 기반을 두고 있다. 또한, 이 규격은 데이터 신뢰성을 높이기 위해 중복되는 사본을 여러 개 전송하는 코딩 방식을 사용할 수 있다.
무선랜의 보급이 활성화되고 또한 이를 이용한 어플리케이션이 다양화됨에 따라, IEEE 802.11n이 지원하는 데이터 처리 속도보다 더 높은 처리율(Very High Throughput, VHT)을 지원하기 위한 새로운 무선랜 시스템에 대한 필요성이 대두되었다. 이 중 IEEE 802.11ac는 5GHz 주파수에서 넓은 대역폭(80MHz~160MHz)을 지원한다. IEEE 802.11ac 표준은 5GHz 대역에서만 정의되어 있으나 기존 2.4GHz 대역 제품들과의 하위 호환성을 위해 초기 11ac 칩셋들은 2.4GHz 대역에서의 동작도 지원할 것이다. 이론적으로, 이 규격에 따르면 다중 스테이션의 무선랜 속도는 최소 1Gbps, 최대 단일 링크 속도는 최소 500Mbps까지 가능하게 된다. 이는 더 넓은 무선 주파수 대역폭(최대 160MHz), 더 많은 MIMO 공간적 스트림(최대 8개), 다중 사용자 MIMO, 그리고 높은 밀도의 변조(최대 256 QAM) 등 802.11n에서 받아들인 무선 인터페이스 개념을 확장하여 이루어진다. 또한, 기존 2.4GHz/5GHz 대신 60GHz 밴드를 사용해 데이터를 전송하는 방식으로 IEEE 802.11ad가 있다. IEEE 802.11ad는 빔포밍 기술을 이용하여 최대 7Gbps의 속도를 제공하는 전송규격으로서, 대용량의 데이터나 무압축 HD 비디오 등 높은 비트레이트 동영상 스트리밍에 적합하다. 하지만 60GHz 주파수 밴드는 장애물 통과가 어려워 근거리 공간에서의 디바이스들 간에만 이용이 가능한 단점이 있다.
한편, 최근에는 802.11ac 및 802.11ad 이후의 차세대 무선랜 표준으로서, 고밀도 환경에서의 고효율 및 고성능의 무선랜 통신 기술을 제공하기 위한 논의가 계속해서 이루어지고 있다. 즉, 차세대 무선랜 환경에서는 고밀도의 스테이션과 AP(Access Point)의 존재 하에 실내/외에서 높은 주파수 효율의 통신이 제공되어야 하며, 이를 구현하기 위한 다양한 기술들이 필요하다.
본 발명은 전술한 바와 같이 고밀도 환경에서의 고효율/고성능의 무선랜 통신을 제공하기 위한 목적을 가지고 있다.
특히, 본 발명은 중첩된 BSS(Basic Service Set) 환경에서 효과적으로 데이터를 전송할 수 있는 방법을 제공하기 위한 목적을 가지고 있다.
또한, 본 발명은 중첩된 BSS 환경에서 효율적인 공간적 재사용 방법을 제공함으로 데이터의 전송 기회 및 전송률을 높이기 위한 목적을 가지고 있다.
상기와 같은 과제를 해결하기 위해, 본 발명은 다음과 같은 무선 통신 방법 및 무선 통신 단말을 제공한다.
먼저, 본 발명은 단말의 무선 통신 방법으로서, 주채널에 대한 백오프 절차를 수행하는 단계; 상기 백오프 절차의 수행 중에 적어도 하나의 부채널에 대한 클리어 채널 할당(CCA)을 수행하는 단계; 상기 CCA의 수행 결과, 상기 적어도 하나의 부채널의 유휴 여부에 기초하여 상기 주채널의 CCA 임계값을 조정하는 단계; 및 상기 조정된 CCA 임계값을 이용하여 상기 주채널에 대한 백오프 절차를 계속하는 단계; 를 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 무선 통신 방법을 제공한다.
이때, 상기 CCA 임계값을 조정하는 단계는, 상기 적어도 하나의 부채널이 유휴 상태일 경우, 상기 주채널의 CCA 임계값을 증가시키는 것을 특징으로 한다.
또한, 상기 조정된 CCA 임계값은 상기 주채널과 결합 가능한 유휴 상태의 부채널의 개수가 많을수록 높은 레벨로 설정되는 것을 특징으로 한다.
본 발명의 실시예에 따르면, 상기 CCA 임계값을 조정하는 단계는, 상기 백오프 절차의 수행 중에, 상기 백오프 절차를 위한 기 설정된 CCA 임계값 보다 높은 레벨의 무선 신호가 상기 주채널에서 감지되었을 때 수행되는 것을 특징으로 한다.
또한, 상기 조정된 CCA 임계값을 이용하여 계속된 상기 주채널에 대한 백오프 절차의 백오프 카운터가 만료되면, 상기 주채널과 유휴 상태의 상기 적어도 하나의 부채널이 결합된 광대역의 채널로 데이터를 전송하는 단계를 더 포함하는 것을 특징으로 한다.
일 실시예에 따르면, 상기 백오프 절차의 수행 중에 상기 주채널의 무선 신호를 수신하는 단계; 및 상기 무선 신호의 BSS 식별자 정보를 획득하는 단계를 더 포함하며, 상기 CCA 임계값은 상기 적어도 하나의 부채널의 유휴 여부와 상기 무선 신호의 BSS 식별자 정보에 기초하여 조정되는 것을 특징으로 한다.
이때, 상기 무선 신호의 BSS 식별자 정보가 상기 단말의 BSS 식별자 정보와 상이할 경우의 상기 조정된 CCA 임계값은, 상기 무선 신호의 BSS 식별자 정보가 상기 단말의 BSS 식별자 정보와 동일할 경우의 상기 조정된 CCA 임계값 보다 높은 레벨로 설정되는 것을 특징으로 한다.
다음으로, 본 발명은 단말의 무선 통신 방법으로서, 특정 채널의 무선 신호를 수신하는 단계; 상기 수신된 무선 신호의 신호 세기를 측정하는 단계; 및 상기 측정된 신호 세기와 상기 무선 신호의 BSS 식별자 정보에 기초하여 상기 특정 채널의 점유 여부를 판별하는 단계; 를 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 무선 통신 방법을 제공한다.
이때, 상기 판별하는 단계는 상기 특정 채널에 대한 CCA(Clear Channel Assessment)에 기초하여 수행되며, 상기 CCA에 이용되는 CCA 임계값은 상기 무선 신호의 BSS 식별자 정보가 상기 단말의 BSS 식별자 정보와 동일한지 여부에 따라 서로 다른 레벨로 설정되는 것을 특징으로 한다.
또한, 상기 무선 신호의 BSS 식별자 정보가 상기 단말의 BSS 식별자 정보와 동일할 경우 제1 CCA 임계값이 상기 CCA에 이용되며, 상기 무선 신호의 BSS 식별자 정보가 상기 단말의 BSS 식별자 정보와 상이할 경우 상기 제1 CCA 임계값 보다 높은 레벨의 제2 CCA 임계값이 상기 CCA에 이용되는 것을 특징으로 한다.
또한, 상기 수신된 무선 신호의 프리앰블 정보를 이용하여 레거시 무선랜 정보 및 논-레거시 무선랜 정보 중 적어도 하나를 획득하는 단계를 더 포함하며, 상기 판별하는 단계는, 상기 무선 신호로부터 상기 논-레거시 무선랜 정보가 획득되는 경우, 상기 무선 신호의 BSS 식별자 정보에 기초하여 상기 특정 채널의 점유 여부를 판별하는 것을 특징으로 한다.
다음으로, 본 발명은 단말의 무선 통신 방법으로서, 특정 채널의 무선 신호를 수신하는 단계; 상기 수신된 무선 신호의 신호 세기를 측정하는 단계; 상기 수신된 무선 신호의 프리앰블 정보를 이용하여 레거시 무선랜 정보 및 논-레거시 무선랜 정보 중 적어도 하나를 획득하는 단계; 및 상기 측정된 신호 세기가 제1 CCA(Clear channel assessment) 임계값과 제2 CCA 임계값 사이이고, 상기 무선 신호로부터 논-레거시 무선랜 정보가 획득되는 경우, 상기 무선 신호의 BSS 식별자 정보에 기초하여 상기 특정 채널의 점유 여부를 판별하는 단계; 를 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 무선 통신 방법을 제공한다.
이때, 상기 BSS 식별자 정보는, 상기 무선 신호에 대한 BSS 식별자의 축약된 정보를 나타내는 것을 특징으로 한다.
본 발명의 실시예에 따르면, 상기 판별하는 단계는, 상기 무선 신호의 BSS 식별자 정보와 상기 단말의 BSS 식별자 정보의 비교 결과에 기초하여, 상기 특정 채널의 점유 여부를 판별하는 것을 특징으로 한다.
이때, 상기 판별하는 단계는, 상기 무선 신호의 BSS 식별자 정보가 상기 단말의 BSS 식별자 정보와 상이할 경우, 상기 특정 채널이 유휴 상태(idle)인 것으로 판별하는 것을 특징으로 한다.
또한, 상기 판별하는 단계는, 상기 무선 신호의 BSS 식별자 정보가 상기 단말의 BSS 식별자 정보와 동일할 경우, 상기 특정 채널이 점유 상태(busy)인 것으로 판별하는 것을 특징으로 한다.
본 발명의 일 실시예에 따르면, 상기 무선 신호는 레거시 단말을 위한 제1 프리앰블 및 논-레거시 단말을 위한 제2 프리앰블을 포함하며, 상기 무선 신호의 BSS 식별자 정보는 상기 무선 신호의 제2 프리앰블에서 추출되는 것을 특징으로 한다.
본 발명의 다른 실시예에 따르면, 상기 무선 신호는 레거시 단말을 위한 제1 프리앰블 및 논-레거시 단말을 위한 제2 프리앰블을 포함하고, 상기 제1 프리앰블은 상기 레거시 단말을 위한 제1 서브캐리어 세트를 적어도 포함하여 구성되되, 상기 제1 프리앰블이 상기 제1 서브캐리어 세트와 다른 제2 서브캐리어 세트를 추가로 포함하여 구성될 경우, 상기 제2 서브캐리어 세트로부터 상기 논-레거시 무선랜 정보가 획득되는 것을 특징으로 한다.
이때, 상기 수신된 무선 신호의 BSS 식별자 정보는 상기 제1 프리앰블의 상기 제2 서브캐리어 세트의 정보로부터 추출되는 것을 특징으로 한다.
본 발명의 또 다른 실시예에 따르면, 상기 무선 신호는 레거시 단말을 위한 제1 프리앰블 및 논-레거시 단말을 위한 제2 프리앰블을 포함하고, 상기 제1 프리앰블의 기 설정된 비트의 정보에 기초하여, 상기 무선 신호가 상기 논-레거시 무선랜 정보를 포함하는지 여부가 판별되는 것을 특징으로 한다.
일 실시예에 따르면, 상기 무선 신호는 레거시 단말을 위한 제1 프리앰블 및 논-레거시 단말을 위한 제2 프리앰블을 포함하고, 상기 제1 프리앰블의 기 설정된 비트 필드로부터 상기 무선 신호의 BSS 식별자 정보가 추출되는 것을 특징으로 한다.
이때, 상기 기 설정된 비트 필드의 기 설정된 비트는 상기 무선 신호가 논-레거시 무선랜 정보를 포함하는지 여부를 나타내며, 상기 기 설정된 비트가 상기 무선 신호가 논-레거시 무선랜 정보를 포함함을 나타낼 경우, 상기 기 설정된 비트 필드로부터 상기 무선 신호의 BSS 식별자 정보가 추출되는 것을 특징으로 한다.
다른 실시예에 따르면, 상기 제1 프리앰블은 상기 레거시 단말을 위한 제1 서브캐리어 세트를 적어도 포함하여 구성되며, 상기 제1 프리앰블이 상기 제1 서브캐리어 세트와 다른 제2 서브캐리어 세트를 추가로 포함하여 구성될 경우, 상기 기 설정된 비트 필드로부터 상기 무선 신호의 BSS 식별자 정보가 추출되는 것을 특징으로 한다.
다음으로, 본 발명은 무선 통신 단말로서, 무선 신호를 송수신하는 송수신부; 및 상기 단말의 동작을 제어하는 프로세서를 포함하되, 상기 프로세서는, 주채널에 대한 백오프 절차를 수행하고, 상기 백오프 절차의 수행 중에 적어도 하나의 부채널에 대한 클리어 채널 할당(CCA)을 수행하고, 상기 CCA의 수행 결과, 상기 적어도 하나의 부채널의 유휴 여부에 기초하여 상기 주채널의 CCA 임계값을 조정하고, 상기 조정된 CCA 임계값을 이용하여 상기 주채널에 대한 백오프 절차를 계속하는 것을 특징으로 하는 무선 통신 단말을 제공한다.
이때, 상기 프로세서는 상기 적어도 하나의 부채널이 유휴 상태일 경우, 상기 주채널의 CCA 임계값을 증가시키는 것을 특징으로 한다.
또한, 상기 조정된 CCA 임계값은 상기 주채널과 결합 가능한 유휴 상태의 부채널의 개수가 많을수록 높은 레벨로 설정되는 것을 특징으로 한다.
본 발명의 실시예에 따르면, 상기 프로세서는, 상기 백오프 절차의 수행 중에, 상기 백오프 절차를 위한 기 설정된 CCA 임계값 보다 높은 레벨의 무선 신호가 상기 주채널에서 감지되었을 때 상기 CCA 임계값을 조정하는 것을 특징으로 한다.
또한, 상기 프로세서는, 상기 조정된 CCA 임계값을 이용하여 계속된 상기 주채널에 대한 백오프 절차의 백오프 카운터가 만료되면, 상기 주채널과 유휴 상태의 상기 적어도 하나의 부채널이 결합된 광대역의 채널로 데이터를 전송하는 것을 특징으로 한다.
일 실시예에 따르면, 상기 프로세서는, 상기 백오프 절차의 수행 중에 상기 주채널의 무선 신호가 수신된 경우, 상기 무선 신호의 BSS 식별자 정보를 획득하고, 상기 적어도 하나의 부채널의 유휴 여부와 상기 무선 신호의 BSS 식별자 정보에 기초하여 상기 CCA 임계값을 조정하는 것을 특징으로 한다.
이때, 상기 무선 신호의 BSS 식별자 정보가 상기 단말의 BSS 식별자 정보와 상이할 경우의 상기 조정된 CCA 임계값은, 상기 무선 신호의 BSS 식별자 정보가 상기 단말의 BSS 식별자 정보와 동일할 경우의 상기 조정된 CCA 임계값 보다 높은 레벨로 설정되는 것을 특징으로 한다.
다음으로, 본 발명은 무선 통신 단말로서, 무선 신호를 송수신하는 송수신부; 및 상기 단말의 동작을 제어하는 프로세서를 포함하되, 상기 프로세서는, 상기 송수신부를 통해 수신된 특정 채널의 무선 신호의 신호 세기를 측정하고, 상기 측정된 신호 세기와 상기 무선 신호의 BSS 식별자 정보에 기초하여 상기 특정 채널의 점유 여부를 판별하는 것을 특징으로 하는 무선 통신 단말을 제공한다.
이때 상기 프로세서는, 상기 수신된 무선 신호의 프리앰블 정보를 이용하여 레거시 무선랜 정보 및 논-레거시 무선랜 정보 중 적어도 하나를 획득하고, 상기 무선 신호로부터 상기 논-레거시 무선랜 정보가 획득되는 경우, 상기 무선 신호의 BSS 식별자 정보에 기초하여 상기 특정 채널의 점유 여부를 판별하는 것을 특징으로 한다.
또한 상기 프로세서는, 상기 특정 채널에 대한 CCA(Clear Channel Assessment)에 기초하여 상기 판별을 수행하며, 상기 CCA에 이용되는 CCA 임계값은 상기 무선 신호의 BSS 식별자 정보가 상기 단말의 BSS 식별자 정보와 동일한지 여부에 따라 서로 다른 레벨로 설정되는 것을 특징으로 한다.
다음으로, 본 발명은 무선 통신 단말로서, 무선 신호를 송수신하는 송수신부; 및 상기 단말의 동작을 제어하는 프로세서를 포함하되, 상기 프로세서는, 상기 송수신부를 통해 수신된 특정 채널의 무선 신호의 신호 세기를 측정하고, 상기 수신된 무선 신호의 프리앰블 정보를 이용하여 레거시 무선랜 정보 및 논-레거시 무선랜 정보 중 적어도 하나를 획득하며, 상기 측정된 신호 세기가 제1 CCA(Clear channel assessment) 임계값과 제2 CCA 임계값 사이이고, 상기 무선 신호로부터 논-레거시 무선랜 정보가 획득되는 경우, 상기 무선 신호의 BSS 식별자 정보에 기초하여 상기 특정 채널의 점유 여부를 판별하는 것을 특징으로 하는 무선 통신 단말을 제공한다.
다음으로, 본 발명은 무선 통신 단말로서, 무선 신호를 송수신하는 송수신부; 및 상기 단말의 동작을 제어하는 프로세서를 포함하되, 상기 프로세서는, 상기 송수신부를 통해 수신된 특정 채널의 무선 신호의 신호 세기를 측정하고, 상기 무선 신호로부터 BSS 구성 정보를 추출하고, 상기 측정된 신호 세기와 상기 무선 신호의 BSS 구성 정보에 기초하여 상기 특정 채널의 점유 여부를 판별하는 특징으로 하는 무선 통신 장치를 제공한다.
본 발명의 실시예에 따르면, 중첩된 BSS 환경에서 수신된 무선 신호가 동일 BSS의 무선랜 신호인지 여부를 효율적으로 판별할 수 있으며, 이에 기초하여 해당 채널에 대한 적응적인 활용 여부의 결정이 가능하다.
또한 본 발명의 일 실시예에 따르면, 단말의 데이터 전송을 위한 채널 할당 폭에 기초하여 CCA 임계값을 조정함으로 효율적인 광대역 통신을 수행할 수 있다.
또한 본 발명의 다른 실시예에 따르면, 수신된 무선 신호가 BSS 식별자 정보가 추출되지 않는 레거시 무선랜 신호인 경우 해당 신호의 수신 신호 세기에 따라 일괄적으로 채널의 점유 여부를 판별함으로, CCA 과정에서 레거시 무선랜 신호의 BSS 식별자를 추가적으로 판단하는데 필요한 시간 지연을 최소화할 수 있다.
또한 본 발명의 다른 실시예에 따르면, 단말과 동일한 BSS 식별자 정보를 갖는 무선랜 신호가 수신된 경우, 해당 무선랜 신호가 논-레거시 무선랜 정보를 포함하는지 여부에 따라 서로 다른 CCA 임계값이 적용되는 불평등 문제를 해소할 수 있다. 즉, 단말과 동일한 BSS 식별자 정보를 갖는 무선랜 신호에 대해서는 레거시 신호와 논-레거시 신호에 대한 CCA 임계값을 동일하게 적용함으로, 레거시 단말과 논-레거시 단말간의 채널 점유에 대한 형평성을 유지할 수 있다.
본 발명의 또 다른 실시예에 따르면, 논-레거시 프리앰블을 확인하기 전에 레거시 프리앰블로부터 BSS 식별자 정보 등의 논-레거시 무선랜 정보의 적어도 일부를 획득할 수 있으므로, 더 짧은 시간 안에 CCA를 수행할 수 있게 된다.
본 발명의 또 다른 실시예에 따르면, 인접 채널의 스퓨리어스에 의해 발생된 간섭 신호가 단말에 수신될 경우, 해당 간섭 신호에 대응하여 CCA 임계값을 조정함으로 효율적으로 인접 채널들 간의 통신을 제어할 수 있다.

본 명세서에서 사용되는 용어는 본 발명에서의 기능을 고려하면서 가능한 현재 널리 사용되는 일반적인 용어를 선택하였으나, 이는 당 분야에 종사하는 기술자의 의도, 관례 또는 새로운 기술의 출현 등에 따라 달라질 수 있다. 또한 특정 경우는 출원인이 임의로 선정한 용어도 있으며, 이 경우 해당되는 발명의 설명 부분에서 그 의미를 기재할 것이다. 따라서 본 명세서에서 사용되는 용어는, 단순한 용어의 명칭이 아닌 그 용어가 가진 실질적인 의미와 본 명세서의 전반에 걸친 내용을 토대로 해석되어야 함을 밝혀두고자 한다.
명세서 전체에서, 어떤 구성이 다른 구성과 “연결”되어 있다고 할 때, 이는 “직접적으로 연결”되어 있는 경우뿐 아니라, 그 중간에 다른 구성요소를 사이에 두고 “전기적으로 연결”되어 있는 경우도 포함한다. 또한 어떤 구성이 특정 구성요소를 “포함”한다고 할 때, 이는 특별히 반대되는 기재가 없는 한 다른 구성요소를 제외하는 것이 아니라 다른 구성요소를 더 포함할 수 있는 것을 의미한다. 이에 더하여, 특정 임계값을 기준으로 “이상” 또는 “이하”라는 한정 사항은 실시예에 따라 각각 “초과” 또는 “미만”으로 적절하게 대체될 수 있다.
본 출원은 대한민국 특허 출원 제10-2014-0080249호, 제10-2014-0088218호, 제10-2014-0089400호 및 제10-2014-0170812호를 기초로 한 우선권을 주장하며, 우선권의 기초가 되는 상기 각 출원들에 서술된 실시예 및 기재 사항은 본 출원의 상세한 설명에 포함되는 것으로 한다.
도 1은 본 발명의 일 실시예에 따른 무선랜 시스템을 도시하고 있다. 무선랜 시스템은 하나 또는 그 이상의 베이직 서비스 세트(Basic Service Set, BSS)를 포함하는데, BSS는 성공적으로 동기화를 이루어서 서로 통신할 수 있는 기기들의 집합을 나타낸다. 일반적으로 BSS는 인프라스트럭쳐 BSS(infrastructure BSS)와 독립 BSS(Independent BSS, IBSS)로 구분될 수 있으며, 도 1은 이 중 인프라스트럭쳐 BSS를 나타내고 있다.
도 1에 도시된 바와 같이 인프라스트럭쳐 BSS(BSS1, BSS2)는 하나 또는 그 이상의 스테이션(STA1, STA2, STA3, STA4, STA5), 분배 서비스(Distribution Service)를 제공하는 스테이션인 액세스 포인트(PCP/AP-1, PCP/AP-2), 및 다수의 액세스 포인트(PCP/AP-1, PCP/AP-2)를 연결시키는 분배 시스템(Distribution System, DS)을 포함한다.
스테이션(Station, STA)은 IEEE 802.11 표준의 규정을 따르는 매체 접속 제어(Medium Access Control, MAC)와 무선 매체에 대한 물리층(Physical Layer) 인터페이스를 포함하는 임의의 디바이스로서, 광의로는 비 액세스 포인트(non-AP) 스테이션뿐만 아니라 액세스 포인트(AP)를 모두 포함한다. 또한, 본 명세서에서 ‘단말’은 non-AP STA 또는 AP를 가리키거나, 양 자를 모두 가리키는 용어로 사용될 수 있다. 무선 통신을 위한 스테이션은 프로세서(Processor)와 송수신부(transmit/receive unit)를 포함하고, 실시예에 따라 유저 인터페이스부와 디스플레이 유닛 등을 더 포함할 수 있다. 프로세서는 무선 네트워크를 통해 전송할 프레임을 생성하거나 또는 상기 무선 네트워크를 통해 수신된 프레임을 처리하며, 그 밖에 스테이션을 제어하기 위한 다양한 처리를 수행할 수 있다. 그리고, 송수신부는 상기 프로세서와 기능적으로 연결되어 있으며 스테이션을 위하여 무선 네트워크를 통해 프레임을 송수신한다.
액세스 포인트(Access Point, AP)는 자신에게 결합된(associated) 스테이션을 위하여 무선 매체를 경유하여 분배시스템(DS)에 대한 접속을 제공하는 개체이다. 인프라스트럭쳐 BSS에서 비 AP 스테이션들 사이의 통신은 AP를 경유하여 이루어지는 것이 원칙이지만, 다이렉트 링크가 설정된 경우에는 비AP 스테이션들 사이에서도 직접 통신이 가능하다. 한편, 본 발명에서 AP는 PCP(Personal BSS Coordination Point)를 포함하는 개념으로 사용되며, 광의적으로는 집중 제어기, 기지국(Base Station, BS), 노드-B, BTS(Base Transceiver System), 또는 사이트 제어기 등의 개념을 모두 포함할 수 있다.
복수의 인프라스트럭쳐 BSS는 분배 시스템(DS)을 통해 상호 연결될 수 있다. 이때, 분배 시스템을 통하여 연결된 복수의 BSS를 확장 서비스 세트(Extended Service Set, ESS)라 한다.
도 2는 본 발명의 다른 실시예에 따른 무선랜 시스템인 독립 BSS를 도시하고 있다. 도 2의 실시예에서 도 1의 실시예와 동일하거나 상응하는 부분은 중복적인 설명을 생략하도록 한다.
도 2에 도시된 BSS3는 독립 BSS이며 AP를 포함하지 않기 때문에, 모든 스테이션(STA6, STA7)이 AP와 접속되지 않은 상태이다. 독립 BSS는 분배 시스템으로의 접속이 허용되지 않으며, 자기 완비적 네트워크(self-contained network)를 이룬다. 독립 BSS에서 각각의 스테이션들(STA6, STA7)은 다이렉트로 서로 연결될 수 있다.
도 3은 본 발명의 일 실시예에 따른 스테이션(100)의 구성을 나타낸 블록도이다.
도시된 바와 같이, 본 발명의 실시예에 따른 스테이션(100)은 프로세서(110), 송수신부(120), 유저 인터페이스부(140), 디스플레이 유닛(150) 및 메모리(160)를 포함할 수 있다.
먼저, 송수신부(120)는 무선랜 패킷 등의 무선 신호를 송수신 하며, 스테이션(100)에 내장되거나 외장으로 구비될 수 있다. 실시예에 따르면, 송수신부(120)는 서로 다른 주파수 밴드를 이용하는 적어도 하나의 송수신 모듈을 포함할 수 있다. 이를 테면, 상기 송수신부(120)는 2.4GHz, 5GHz 및 60GHz 등의 서로 다른 주파수 밴드의 송수신 모듈을 포함할 수 있다. 일 실시예에 따르면, 스테이션(100)은 6GHz 이상의 주파수 밴드를 이용하는 송수신 모듈과, 6GHz 이하의 주파수 밴드를 이용하는 송수신 모듈을 구비할 수 있다. 각각의 송수신 모듈은 해당 송수신 모듈이 지원하는 주파수 밴드의 무선랜 규격에 따라 AP 또는 외부 스테이션과 무선 통신을 수행할 수 있다. 송수신부(120)는 스테이션(100)의 성능 및 요구 사항에 따라 한 번에 하나의 송수신 모듈만을 동작시키거나 동시에 다수의 송수신 모듈을 함께 동작시킬 수 있다. 스테이션(100)이 복수의 송수신 모듈을 포함할 경우, 각 송수신 모듈은 각각 독립된 형태로 구비될 수도 있으며, 복수의 모듈이 하나의 칩으로 통합되어 구비될 수도 있다.
다음으로, 유저 인터페이스부(140)는 스테이션(100)에 구비된 다양한 형태의 입/출력 수단을 포함한다. 즉, 유저 인터페이스부(140)는 다양한 입력 수단을 이용하여 유저의 입력을 수신할 수 있으며, 프로세서(110)는 수신된 유저 입력에 기초하여 스테이션(100)을 제어할 수 있다. 또한, 유저 인터페이스부(140)는 다양한 출력 수단을 이용하여 프로세서(110)의 명령에 기초한 출력을 수행할 수 있다.
다음으로, 디스플레이 유닛(150)은 디스플레이 화면에 이미지를 출력한다. 상기 디스플레이 유닛(150)은 프로세서(110)에 의해 실행되는 컨텐츠 또는 프로세서(110)의 제어 명령에 기초한 유저 인터페이스 등의 다양한 디스플레이 오브젝트를 출력할 수 있다. 또한, 메모리(160)는 스테이션(100)에서 사용되는 제어 프로그램 및 그에 따른 각종 데이터를 저장한다. 이러한 제어 프로그램에는 스테이션(100)이 AP 또는 외부 스테이션과 접속을 수행하는데 필요한 접속 프로그램이 포함될 수 있다.
본 발명의 프로세서(110)는 다양한 명령 또는 프로그램을 실행하고, 스테이션(100) 내부의 데이터를 프로세싱 할 수 있다. 또한, 상기 프로세서(110)는 상술한 스테이션(100)의 각 유닛들을 제어하며, 유닛들 간의 데이터 송수신을 제어할 수 있다. 본 발명의 실시예에 따르면, 프로세서(110)는 메모리(160)에 저장된 AP와의 접속을 위한 프로그램을 실행하고, AP가 전송한 통신 설정 메시지를 수신할 수 있다. 또한, 프로세서(110)는 통신 설정 메시지에 포함된 스테이션(100)의 우선 조건에 대한 정보를 판독하고, 스테이션(100)의 우선 조건에 대한 정보에 기초하여 AP에 대한 접속을 요청할 수 있다. 본 발명의 프로세서(110)는 스테이션(100)의 메인 컨트롤 유닛을 가리킬 수도 있으며, 실시예에 따라 스테이션(100)의 일부 구성 이를 테면, 송수신부(120)등을 개별적으로 제어하기 위한 컨트롤 유닛을 가리킬 수도 있다. 프로세서(110)는 본 발명의 실시예에 따른 스테이션(100)의 무선 신호 송수신의 각종 동작을 제어한다. 이에 대한 구체적인 실시예는 추후 기술하기로 한다.
도 3에 도시된 스테이션(100)은 본 발명의 일 실시예에 따른 블록도로서, 분리하여 표시한 블록들은 디바이스의 엘리먼트들을 논리적으로 구별하여 도시한 것이다. 따라서 상술한 디바이스의 엘리먼트들은 디바이스의 설계에 따라 하나의 칩으로 또는 복수의 칩으로 장착될 수 있다. 이를테면, 상기 프로세서(110) 및 송수신부(120)는 하나의 칩으로 통합되어 구현될 수도 있으며 별도의 칩으로 구현될 수도 있다. 또한, 본 발명의 실시예에서 상기 스테이션(100)의 일부 구성들, 이를 테면 유저 인터페이스부(140) 및 디스플레이 유닛(150) 등은 스테이션(100)에 선택적으로 구비될 수 있다.
도 4는 본 발명의 일 실시예에 따른 AP(200)의 구성을 나타낸 블록도이다.
도시된 바와 같이, 본 발명의 실시예에 따른 AP(200)는 프로세서(210), 송수신부(220) 및 메모리(260)를 포함할 수 있다. 도 4에서 AP(200)의 구성 중 도 3의 스테이션(100)의 구성과 동일하거나 상응하는 부분에 대해서는 중복적인 설명을 생략하도록 한다.
도 4를 참조하면, 본 발명에 따른 AP(200)는 적어도 하나의 주파수 밴드에서 BSS를 운영하기 위한 송수신부(220)를 구비한다. 도 3의 실시예에서 전술한 바와 같이, 상기 AP(200)의 송수신부(220) 또한 서로 다른 주파수 밴드를 이용하는 복수의 송수신 모듈을 포함할 수 있다. 즉, 본 발명의 실시예에 따른 AP(200)는 서로 다른 주파수 밴드, 이를 테면 2.4GHz, 5GHz, 60GHz 중 두 개 이상의 송수신 모듈을 함께 구비할 수 있다. 바람직하게는, AP(200)는 6GHz 이상의 주파수 밴드를 이용하는 송수신 모듈과, 6GHz 이하의 주파수 밴드를 이용하는 송수신 모듈을 구비할 수 있다. 각각의 송수신 모듈은 해당 송수신 모듈이 지원하는 주파수 밴드의 무선랜 규격에 따라 스테이션과 무선 통신을 수행할 수 있다. 상기 송수신부(220)는 AP(200)의 성능 및 요구 사항에 따라 한 번에 하나의 송수신 모듈만을 동작시키거나 동시에 다수의 송수신 모듈을 함께 동작시킬 수 있다.
다음으로, 메모리(260)는 AP(200)에서 사용되는 제어 프로그램 및 그에 따른 각종 데이터를 저장한다. 이러한 제어 프로그램에는 스테이션의 접속을 관리하는 접속 프로그램이 포함될 수 있다. 또한, 프로세서(210)는 AP(200)의 각 유닛들을 제어하며, 유닛들 간의 데이터 송수신을 제어할 수 있다. 본 발명의 실시예에 따르면, 프로세서(210)는 메모리(260)에 저장된 스테이션과의 접속을 위한 프로그램을 실행하고, 하나 이상의 스테이션에 대한 통신 설정 메시지를 전송할 수 있다. 이때, 통신 설정 메시지에는 각 스테이션의 접속 우선 조건에 대한 정보가 포함될 수 있다. 또한, 프로세서(210)는 스테이션의 접속 요청에 따라 접속 설정을 수행한다. 프로세서(210)는 본 발명의 실시예에 따른 AP(200)의 무선 신호 송수신의 각종 동작을 제어한다. 이에 대한 구체적인 실시예는 추후 기술하기로 한다.
도 5는 무선랜 통신에서 사용되는 CSMA(Carrier Sense Multiple Access)/CA(Collision Avoidance) 방법을 나타내고 있다.
무선랜 통신을 수행하는 단말은 데이터를 전송하기 전에 캐리어 센싱(Carrier Sensing)을 수행하여 채널이 점유 상태(busy)인지 여부를 체크한다. 만약, 일정한 세기 이상의 무선 신호가 감지되는 경우 해당 채널이 점유 상태(busy)인 것으로 판별되고, 상기 단말은 해당 채널에 대한 액세스를 지연한다. 이러한 과정을 클리어 채널 할당(Clear Channel Assessment, CCA) 이라고 하며, 해당 신호 감지 유무를 결정하는 레벨을 CCA 임계값(CCA threshold)이라 한다. 만약 단말에 수신된 CCA 임계값 이상의 무선 신호가 해당 단말을 수신자로 하는 경우, 단말은 수신된 무선 신호를 처리하게 된다. 한편, 해당 채널에서 무선 신호가 감지되지 않거나 CCA 임계값보다 작은 세기의 무선 신호가 감지될 경우 상기 채널은 유휴 상태(idle)인 것으로 판별된다.
채널이 유휴 상태인 것으로 판별되면, 전송할 데이터가 있는 각 단말은 각 단말의 상황에 따른 IFS(InterFrame Space) 이를테면, AIFS(Arbitration IFS), PIFS(PCF IFS) 등의 시간 뒤에 백오프 절차를 수행한다. 실시예에 따라, 상기 AIFS는 기존의 DIFS(DCF IFS)를 대체하는 구성으로 사용될 수 있다. 각 단말은 해당 단말에 할당된 난수(random number) 만큼의 슬롯 타임을 상기 채널의 유휴 상태의 간격(interval) 동안 감소시켜가며 대기하고, 슬롯 타임을 모두 소진한 단말이 해당 채널에 대한 액세스를 시도하게 된다. 이와 같이 각 단말들이 백오프 절차를 수행하는 구간을 경쟁 윈도우 구간이라고 한다.
만약, 특정 단말이 상기 채널에 성공적으로 액세스하게 되면, 해당 단말은 상기 채널을 통해 데이터를 전송할 수 있다. 그러나, 액세스를 시도한 단말이 다른 단말과 충돌하게 되면, 충돌된 단말들은 각각 새로운 난수를 할당 받아 다시 백오프 절차를 수행한다. 일 실시예에 따르면, 각 단말에 새로 할당되는 난수는 해당 단말이 이전에 할당 받은 난수 범위(경쟁 윈도우, CW)의 2배의 범위(2*CW) 내에서 결정될 수 있다. 한편, 각 단말은 다음 경쟁 윈도우 구간에서 다시 백오프 절차를 수행하여 액세스를 시도하며, 이때 각 단말은 이전 경쟁 윈도우 구간에서 남게 된 슬롯 타임부터 백오프 절차를 수행한다. 이와 같은 방법으로 무선랜 통신을 수행하는 각 단말들은 특정 채널에 대한 서로간의 충돌을 회피할 수 있다.
도 6은 CCA 기법을 이용한 무선 통신 방식의 일 실시예를 나타내고 있다.
무선 통신, 이를 테면 무선랜 통신에서는 CCA를 통해 채널의 점유 여부를 감지할 수 있다. 이때, 사용되는 CCA 방법으로는 시그널 디텍션(Signal Detection, SD) 방법, 에너지 디텍션(Energy Detection, ED) 방법, 코릴레이션 디텍션(Correlation Detection, CD) 방법 등이 있다.
먼저, 시그널 디텍션(CCA-SD)은 무선랜(즉, 802.11) 프레임의 프리앰블(preamble)의 신호 세기를 측정하는 방법이다. 이 방법은 안정적인 신호 검출이 가능한 반면 프리앰블이 존재하는 프레임의 초기 부분에서만 동작한다는 단점이 있다. 일 실시예에 따르면, 시그널 디텍션은 광대역 무선랜에서 주채널(Primary Channel)에 대한 CCA에 사용될 수 있다. 다음으로, 에너지 디텍션(CCA-ED)은 특정 임계값 이상으로 수신되는 모든 신호의 에너지를 감지하는 방법이다. 이 방법은 정상적으로 프리앰블이 감지되지 않는 무선 신호, 이를 테면 블루투스, 지그비 등의 신호를 감지하는데 사용될 수 있다. 또한, 상기 방법은 신호를 계속해서 추적하지 않고 있는 부채널(Secondary Channel)에서의 CCA에 사용될 수도 있다. 한편, 코릴레이션 디텍션(CCA-CD)은 무선랜 프레임의 중간에서도 신호 레벨을 감지할 수 있는 방법으로서, 무선랜 신호가 주기적인 OFDM(Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplex) 신호의 반복 패턴을 갖는 다는 점을 이용한다. 즉, 코릴레이션 디텍션 방법은 임의의 시간 동안 무선랜 데이터를 수신한 후 OFDM 신호 심볼의 반복 패턴들에 대한 신호 세기를 검출한다.
본 발명의 실시예에 따르면, 각 CCA 방법에 대한 기 설정된 CCA 임계값을 이용하여 채널에 대한 단말의 액세스를 제어할 수 있다. 도 6의 실시예에서 CCA-ED 임계값(10)은 에너지 디텍션을 수행하기 위해 기 설정된 임계값을 나타내며, CCA-SD 임계값(30)은 시그널 디텍션을 수행하기 위해 기 설정된 임계값을 나타낸다. 또한, 수신 감도(RX Sensitivity, 50)는 단말이 무선 신호를 복호화 할 수 있는 최소한의 신호 세기를 나타낸다. 실시예에 따르면, 상기 수신 감도(50)는 단말의 성능 및 설정 등에 따라 CCA-SD 임계값(30)과 동일하거나 낮은 레벨로 설정될 수 있다. 또한, CCA-ED 임계값(10)은 CCA-SD 임계값(30)보다 높은 레벨로 설정될 수 있다. 이를 테면, CCA-ED 임계값(10)은 -62dBm으로, CCA-SD 임계값(30)은 -82dBm으로 각각 설정될 수 있다. 다만, 본 발명은 이에 한정되지 않으며, CCA-ED 임계값(10) 및 CCA-SD 임계값(30)은 주 채널에 대한 임계값인지 여부, CCA를 수행하는 채널의 대역폭 등에 따라 각각 다르게 설정될 수 있다.
도 6의 실시예에 따르면, 각 단말은 수신된 무선 신호의 수신 신호 세기(RX Received Signal Strength Indicator, RX RSSI)를 측정하고, 측정된 수신 신호 세기와 상기 설정된 각 CCA 임계값의 비교 결과에 기초하여 채널 상태를 판별한다.
먼저, 특정 채널에서 수신된 수신 감도(50) 이상의 무선 신호(350)가 CCA-SD 임계값(30) 이하의 수신 신호 세기(RX RSSI)를 가질 경우, 해당 채널은 유휴 상태(idle)인 것으로 판별된다. 따라서, 수신된 신호는 단말에서 처리되거나 보호되지 않으며, 도 5에서 설명한 방법 등에 따라 각 단말들은 해당 채널에 대한 액세스를 시도할 수 있다.
만약, CCA-SD 임계값(30) 이상의 수신 신호 세기(RX RSSI)를 갖는 무선랜 신호(330)가 특정 채널에서 수신된 경우, 해당 채널은 점유 상태(busy)인 것으로 판별된다. 따라서, 해당 신호를 수신한 단말은 채널에 대한 액세스를 지연한다. 일 실시예에 따르면, 단말은 수신된 무선 신호의 프리앰블 부분의 신호 패턴을 이용하여 해당 신호가 무선랜 신호인지 여부를 판별할 수 있다. 도 6의 실시예에 따르면, 각 단말은 해당 단말과 동일한 BSS의 무선랜 신호뿐만 아니라 다른 BSS의 무선랜 신호가 수신된 경우에도, 채널이 점유 상태인 것으로 판별한다.
한편, CCA-ED 임계값(10) 이상의 수신 신호 세기(RX RSSI)를 갖는 무선 신호(310)가 특정 채널에서 수신된 경우, 해당 채널은 점유 상태인 것으로 판별된다. 이때, 단말은 무선랜 신호가 아닌 다른 종류의 무선 신호가 수신된 경우에도, 해당 신호의 수신 신호 세기가 CCA-ED 임계값(10) 이상인 경우 해당 채널이 점유 상태인 것으로 판별한다. 따라서, 해당 신호를 수신한 단말은 채널에 대한 액세스를 지연한다.
도 7은 중첩 BSS(Overlapping BSS, OBSS) 환경의 일 예를 도시하고 있다. 도 7에서 AP-1이 운영하는 BSS-1에서는 스테이션 1(STA-1)과 스테이션 2(STA-2)가 AP-1과 결합되어(associated) 있으며, AP-2가 운영하는 BSS-2에서는 스테이션 3(STA-3)와 스테이션 4(STA-4)가 AP-2와 결합되어 있다. 도 7의 중첩 BSS 환경에서는 BSS-1과 BSS-2의 통신 커버리지의 적어도 일부가 중첩되어 있다.
도 7에 도시된 바와 같이, STA-3가 AP-2에게 업로드 데이터를 전송하는 경우, 지속적으로 주변에 위치한 BSS-1의 STA-2에게 간섭을 줄 수 있다. 이때, BSS-1 및 BSS-2가 동일한 주파수 대역(예를 들면, 2.4GHz, 5GHz 등) 및 동일한 주채널(Primary Channel)을 사용하면서 발생되는 간섭을 동일 채널 간섭(Co-Channel Interference, CCI)라고 한다. 또한, BSS-1과 BSS-2가 인접한 주채널을 사용하면서 발생되는 간섭을 인접 채널 간섭(Adjacent Channel Interference, ACI)라고 한다. 상기 CCI 또는 ACI는 STA-2와 STA-3의 거리에 따라 STA-2의 CCA 임계값(이를 테면, CCA-SD 임계값) 보다 높은 신호 강도로 수신될 수 있다. 만약 이러한 간섭이 CCA 임계값 보다 높은 강도로 STA-2에서 수신될 경우, STA-2는 해당 채널이 점유 상태인 것으로 인식하여 AP-1으로의 업로드 데이터 전송을 지연하게 된다. 그러나 STA-2와 STA-3는 서로 다른 BSS에 속해 있는 스테이션들이므로, STA-2의 CCA 임계값을 높이게 되면 STA-2와 STA-3가 각각 동시에 AP-1 및 AP-2로 업로드를 수행할 수 있게 되어 공간적 재사용의 효과를 얻을 수 있게 된다.
한편, 도 7에서 BSS-2 내의 STA-3의 업로드 데이터 전송은 동일한 BSS-2에 속해있는 STA-4에게도 간섭을 주게 된다. 이때, STA-4의 CCA 임계값을 STA-2와 동일하게 높이게 되면, 동일한 BSS에 속한 STA-3와 STA-4가 동시에 AP-2로 업로드 데이터를 전송하게 되어 충돌이 발생할 수 있다. 따라서 임의의 간섭에 대한 CCA 임계값을 높이기 위해서는 해당 간섭이 동일 BSS에 속한 신호에 의해 유발 되었는지, 또는 다른 BSS에 속한 신호에 의해 유발 되었는지를 판별할 필요가 있다. 이를 위해서 각 단말은 수신된 무선랜 신호의 BSS 식별자, 또는 BSS를 구별할 수 있는 기타 다른 형태의 정보를 확인해야 한다. 또한, 이러한 BSS 정보의 확인은 CCA 과정이 이루어지는 짧은 시간 내에 수행되는 것이 바람직하다.
도 8 내지 도 13은 본 발명에 따른 CCA 방법의 다양한 실시예들을 나타내고 있다. 도 8 내지 도 13의 실시예에서, 음영 표시된 영역은 단말에 의해 수신되었지만 무시되는 즉, 보호되지 않는 무선 신호를 나타낸다. 다시 말해서, 음영 표시된 영역에 해당하는 무선 신호가 수신되면 단말은 해당 채널이 유휴 상태(idle)인 것으로 판별한다. 한편, 음영 표시되지 않은 영역에 해당하는 무선 신호가 수신되면, 단말은 해당 채널이 점유 상태(busy)인 것으로 판별한다. 이때, 수신 감도(RX Sensitivity)는 단말의 성능 및 설정 등에 따라 CCA-SD 임계값과 동일하거나 낮은 레벨로 설정될 수 있다. 또한, CCA-ED 임계값은 CCA-SD 임계값보다 높은 레벨로 설정될 수 있다. 이후 설명되는 각 실시예에서의 채널 점유 여부 판별 결과에 기초하여 도 5에서 설명된 개별 프로세스가 수행될 수 있다.
도 8 내지 도 10의 각 실시예에서, 단말은 수신된 무선 신호의 수신 신호 세기(RX RSSI)를 측정하고, 해당 신호가 무선랜 신호인지 여부를 판별할 수 있다. 만약 수신된 신호가 후술하는 다양한 실시예에 따라 BSS 식별자 정보를 갖는 무선랜 신호인 경우, 단말은 해당 신호로부터 BSS 식별자 정보를 추출하고 추출된 BSS 식별자 정보가 해당 단말의 BSS 식별자 정보와 동일한지 여부를 판별할 수 있다.
먼저 도 8의 실시예에 따르면, 수신된 무선 신호가 단말의 BSS 식별자 정보와 동일한 BSS 식별자 정보를 갖는 무선랜 신호인지 여부에 기초하여 해당 신호에 대한 CCA 임계값이 결정될 수 있다. 본 발명의 실시예에서 단말의 BSS 식별자 정보란 해당 단말에 할당된 BSS 식별자 정보로서, 해당 단말이 non-AP STA일 경우 해당 단말이 결합(association)한 또는 결합하고자 하는 AP의 식별자 정보(이를 테면, AP의 MAC 주소)를 나타낼 수 있다. 이때, 단말은 AP로부터 BSS 식별자 정보를 수신하며, 수신된 BSS 식별자 정보는 해당 단말에 저장될 수 있다.
도 8을 참조하면, 수신된 특정 채널의 무선 신호가 수신 감도(50) 이상이고 CCA-SD 임계값(30) 이하의 수신 신호 세기(RX RSSI)를 갖는 무선랜 신호인 경우, 해당 신호가 단말과 동일한 BSS 식별자 정보를 갖는 무선랜 신호인지 여부에 기초하여 채널의 점유 여부가 판별된다. 만약 무선 신호에서 추출된 BSS 식별자 정보가 단말의 BSS 식별자 정보와 상이할 경우(즉, OBSS 무선랜 신호 452인 경우), 해당 채널은 유휴 상태인 것으로 판별된다. 그러나 무선 신호에서 추출된 BSS 식별자 정보가 단말의 BSS 식별자 정보와 동일할 경우(즉, MYBSS 무선랜 신호 454인 경우), 해당 채널은 점유 상태인 것으로 판별된다.
한편, 수신된 특정 채널의 무선 신호가 CCA-SD 임계값(30)과 CCA-ED 임계값(10) 사이의 수신 신호 세기(RX RSSI)를 갖는 무선랜 신호(430)인 경우, 해당 채널은 점유 상태인 것으로 판별된다. 이때, 무선랜 신호(430)를 수신한 단말은 해당 신호가 단말과 동일한 BSS 식별자 정보를 갖는 무선랜 신호인 경우뿐만 아니라 다른 BSS 식별자 정보를 갖는 무선랜 신호인 경우에도 해당 신호가 수신된 채널을 점유 상태인 것으로 판별한다.
에너지 디텍션 과정에서, 단말에 수신된 특정 채널의 무선 신호가 CCA-ED 임계값(10) 이상의 수신 신호 세기(RX RSSI)를 갖는 무선 신호(410)인 경우, 해당 채널은 점유 상태인 것으로 판별된다. 전술한 바와 같이, 단말은 무선랜 신호가 아닌 다른 종류의 무선 신호가 수신된 경우에도, 무선 신호의 수신 신호 세기(RX RSSI)가 CCA-ED 임계값(10) 이상인 경우 해당 채널이 점유 상태인 것으로 판별한다.
이와 같이 도 8의 실시예에 따르면, 단말과 동일한 BSS 식별자 정보를 갖는 무선랜 신호에 적용되는 CCA 임계값은, 단말과 상이한 BSS 식별자 정보를 갖는 무선랜 신호에 적용되는 CCA 임계값과 서로 다른 레벨을 가질 수 있다. 일 실시예에 따르면, 단말과 상이한 BSS 식별자 정보를 갖는 무선랜 신호에 적용되는 CCA 임계값은 단말과 동일한 BSS 식별자 정보를 갖는 무선랜 신호에 적용되는 CCA 임계값보다 높은 레벨로 설정될 수 있다. 도 8의 실시예에 따르면, 단말과 상이한 BSS 식별자 정보를 갖는 무선랜 신호에 대한 CCA 임계값으로는 기 설정된 CCA-SD 임계값(30)이 적용될 수 있으며, 단말과 동일한 BSS 식별자 정보를 갖는 무선랜 신호에 대한 CCA 임계값으로는 단말의 수신 감도(50) 레벨이 적용될 수 있다.
도 9 및 도 10은 BSS 식별자 정보를 이용한 CCA 방법의 다른 실시예를 나타내고 있다. 도 9 및 도 10의 실시예에서 도 8의 실시예와 동일하거나 상응하는 부분은 중복된 설명을 생략하도록 한다.
먼저 도 9의 실시예에 따르면, 수신된 무선 신호가 단말의 BSS 식별자 정보와 동일한 BSS 식별자 정보를 갖는 무선랜 신호인지 여부에 기초하여 해당 신호에 대한 CCA 임계값이 결정될 수 있다.
도 9를 참조하면, 수신된 특정 채널의 무선 신호의 수신 신호 세기(RX RSSI)가 수신 감도(50) 이상이고 제1 CCA-SD 임계값(40) 이하인 경우, 해당 채널은 유휴 상태인 것으로 판별된다. 이때, 단말은 수신된 신호가 단말과 동일한 BSS 식별자 정보를 갖는 무선랜 신호(454)인 경우 및 다른 BSS 식별자 정보를 갖는 무선랜 신호(452)인 경우 모두에 대해 해당 신호가 수신된 채널을 유휴 상태인 것으로 판별한다.
그러나 수신된 특정 채널의 무선 신호가 제1 CCA-SD 임계값(40)과 제2 CCA-SD 임계값(20) 사이의 수신 신호 세기(RX RSSI)를 갖는 무선랜 신호인 경우, 해당 신호가 단말과 동일한 BSS 식별자 정보를 갖는 무선랜 신호인지 여부에 기초하여 채널의 점유 여부가 판별된다. 만약 무선 신호에서 추출된 BSS 식별자 정보가 단말의 BSS 식별자 정보와 상이할 경우(즉, OBSS 무선랜 신호 442인 경우), 해당 채널은 유휴 상태인 것으로 판별된다. 그러나 무선 신호에서 추출된 BSS 식별자 정보가 단말의 BSS 식별자 정보와 동일할 경우(즉, MYBSS 무선랜 신호 444인 경우), 해당 채널은 점유 상태인 것으로 판별된다. 도 9의 실시예에서 제2 CCA-SD 임계값(20)은 단말과 상이한 BSS 식별자 정보를 갖는 무선랜 신호에 대한 시그널 디텍션을 수행하기 위한 것으로서, 제1 CCA-SD 임계값(40)보다 크고, CCA-ED 임계값보다 작거나 같은 레벨로 설정될 수 있다.
한편, 수신된 특정 채널의 무선 신호가 제2 CCA-SD 임계값(20)과 CCA-ED 임계값(10) 사이의 수신 신호 세기(RX RSSI)를 갖는 무선랜 신호(420)인 경우, 해당 채널은 점유 상태인 것으로 판별된다. 이때, 무선랜 신호(420)를 수신한 단말은 해당 신호가 단말과 동일한 BSS 식별자 정보를 갖는 무선랜 신호인 경우뿐만 아니라 다른 BSS 식별자 정보를 갖는 무선랜 신호인 경우에도 해당 신호가 수신된 채널을 점유 상태인 것으로 판별한다.
에너지 디텍션 과정에서, 단말에 수신된 특정 채널의 무선 신호가 CCA-ED 임계값(10) 이상의 수신 신호 세기(RX RSSI)를 갖는 무선 신호(410)인 경우, 해당 채널은 점유 상태인 것으로 판별된다. 전술한 바와 같이, 단말은 무선랜 신호가 아닌 다른 종류의 무선 신호가 수신된 경우에도, 무선 신호의 수신 신호 세기(RX RSSI)가 CCA-ED 임계값(10) 이상인 경우 해당 채널이 점유 상태인 것으로 판별한다.
이와 같이 도 9의 실시예에 따르면, 단말과 동일한 BSS 식별자 정보를 갖는 무선랜 신호에 적용되는 CCA 임계값은, 단말과 상이한 BSS 식별자 정보를 갖는 무선랜 신호에 적용되는 CCA 임계값과 서로 다른 레벨을 가질 수 있다. 즉, 단말과 동일한 BSS 식별자 정보를 갖는 무선랜 신호에 대한 CCA 임계값으로는 기 설정된 제1 CCA-SD 임계값(40)이 적용될 수 있으며, 단말과 상이한 BSS 식별자 정보를 갖는 무선랜 신호에 대한 CCA 임계값으로는 기 설정된 제2 CCA-SD 임계값(20)이 적용될 수 있다. 여기서 제2 CCA-SD 임계값(20)은 제1 CCA-SD 임계값(40)보다 높고, CCA-ED 임계값보다 낮거나 같은 레벨로 설정될 수 있다.
다음으로 도 10의 실시예에 따르면, 수신된 특정 채널의 무선 신호의 수신 신호 세기(RX RSSI)가 수신 감도(50) 이상일 경우, 해당 신호가 단말과 동일한 BSS 식별자 정보를 갖는 무선랜 신호인지 여부에 기초하여 시그널 디텍션이 수행될 수 있다.
시그널 디텍션 과정에서, 단말에 수신된 무선 신호의 수신 신호 세기(RX RSSI)가 수신 감도(50) 이상이고, 단말과 동일한 BSS 식별자 정보를 갖는 무선랜 신호(453)인 경우, 해당 채널은 점유 상태인 것으로 판별된다. 그러나 수신된 무선 신호의 수신 신호 세기(RX RSSI)가 수신 감도(50) 이상이고, 단말과 상이한 BSS 식별자 정보를 갖는 무선랜 신호(451)인 경우, 해당 채널은 유휴 상태인 것으로 판별된다.
한편 에너지 디텍션 과정에서, 단말에 수신된 무선 신호가 CCA-ED 임계값(10) 이상의 수신 신호 세기(RX RSSI)를 갖는 무선 신호(410)인 경우, 해당 채널은 점유 상태인 것으로 판별된다. 단말은 해당 신호가 단말과 동일한 BSS 식별자 정보를 갖는 무선랜 신호인지 여부에 관계 없이, 더 나아가 해당 신호가 무선랜 신호인지 여부에 관계 없이 해당 채널이 점유 상태인 것으로 판별한다. 따라서, 단말과 상이한 BSS 식별자 정보를 갖는 무선랜 신호가 CCA-ED 임계값(10) 보다 높은 레벨로 수신될 경우, 에너지 디텍션 과정에 의해 해당 채널은 점유 상태인 것으로 판별된다.
이와 같이 도 10의 실시예에 따르면, 시그널 디텍션 과정에서 단말은 별도의 설정된 CCA-SD 임계값을 사용하지 않고, 수신된 무선 신호가 단말과 동일한 BSS 식별자 정보를 갖는 무선랜 신호인지 여부에 기초하여 채널의 점유 여부를 판별할 수 있다. 다만, 단말은 에너지 디텍션을 위한 기 설정된 CCA-ED 임계값(10)을 사용함으로, 단말과 상이한 BSS 식별자 정보를 갖는 무선랜 신호와의 충돌을 피할 수 있다.
도 11 내지 도 13은 논-레거시 무선랜 정보의 획득 여부 및 BSS 식별자 정보를 이용한 CCA 방법의 또 다른 실시예를 나타내고 있다. 도 11 내지 도 13의 각 실시예에서, 단말은 수신된 무선 신호의 수신 신호 세기(RX RSSI)를 측정하고, 해당 신호가 무선랜 신호인지 여부를 판별할 수 있다. 만약 수신된 신호가 후술하는 다양한 실시예에 따라 BSS 식별자 정보를 갖는 무선랜 신호인 경우, 단말은 해당 신호로부터 BSS 식별자 정보를 추출하고 추출된 BSS 식별자 정보가 해당 단말의 BSS 식별자 정보와 동일한지 여부를 판별할 수 있다.
뿐만 아니라, 단말은 수신된 무선 신호로부터 레거시 무선랜 정보 및 논-레거시 무선랜 정보 중 적어도 하나를 획득할 수 있다. 이를 통해, 단말은 수신된 무선 신호가 레거시 무선랜 정보만을 포함하는 신호인지, 아니면 레거시 무선랜 정보와 논-레거시 무선랜 정보를 함께 포함하는 신호인지를 판별할 수 있다. 일 실시예에 따르면, 단말은 수신된 무선 신호의 프리앰블 정보를 이용하여 레거시 무선랜 정보 및 논-레거시 무선랜 정보 중 적어도 하나를 획득할 수 있다. 무선 신호의 BSS 식별자 정보는 해당 신호로부터 논-레거시 무선랜 정보가 획득되는 경우에 논-레거시 무선랜 정보로부터 추출될 수 있다. 그러나 본 발명은 이에 한정하지 않으며 후술하는 다양한 실시예에 따라 레거시 무선랜 정보로부터 추출될 수도 있다. 본 발명의 일 실시예에 따르면, CCA 수행을 위해 참조되는 BSS 식별자 정보는 논-레거시 무선랜 정보에 포함되는 반면에, 수신된 무선 신호에는 논-레거시 무선랜 정보가 포함되지 않을 수 있다. 즉, 수신된 무선 신호가 본 발명의 실시예에 따른 CCA 수행을 위해 참조되는 BSS 식별자 정보를 포함하지 않을 경우, 해당 신호로부터 상기 BSS 식별자 정보가 추출되지 않을 수 있다. 이러할 경우, CCA 수행을 위한 해당 신호의 BSS 식별자 정보는 미리 지정된 값으로 설정될 수 있다. 도 11 내지 도 13의 실시예에서 전술한 실시예와 동일하거나 상응하는 부분은 중복된 설명을 생략하도록 한다.
먼저 도 11을 참조하면, 수신된 특정 채널의 무선 신호가 수신 감도(50) 이상이고 제1 CCA-SD 임계값(40) 이하의 수신 신호 세기(RX RSSI)를 갖는 무선랜 신호인 경우, 해당 신호가 단말과 동일한 BSS 식별자 정보를 갖는 무선랜 신호인지 여부에 기초하여 채널의 점유 여부가 판별된다.
만약 무선 신호에서 추출된 BSS 식별자 정보가 단말의 BSS 식별자 정보와 상이할 경우(즉, OBSS 무선랜 신호인 경우), 해당 채널은 유휴 상태인 것으로 판별된다. 이때, OBSS 무선랜 신호(552)는 해당 신호로부터 논-레거시 무선랜 정보가 획득될 수 있는 OBSS 논-레거시 무선랜 신호와, 해당 신호로부터 논-레거시 무선랜 정보가 획득되지 않는 OBSS 레거시 무선랜 신호로 구분될 수 있다. 단말은 OBSS 논-레거시 무선랜 신호가 수신된 경우와 OBSS 레거시 무선랜 신호가 수신된 경우 모두에 해당 채널이 유휴 상태인 것으로 판별한다.
반면에 무선 신호에서 추출된 BSS 식별자 정보가 단말의 BSS 식별자 정보와 동일할 경우(즉, MYBSS 무선랜 신호인 경우), 해당 채널은 점유 상태인 것으로 판별된다. 마찬가지로, MYBSS 무선랜 신호는 해당 신호로부터 논-레거시 무선랜 정보가 획득될 수 있는 MYBSS 논-레거시 무선랜 신호(558)와, 해당 신호로부터 논-레거시 무선랜 정보가 획득되지 않는 MYBSS 레거시 무선랜 신호(556)로 구분될 수 있다. 단말은 MYBSS 논-레거시 무선랜 신호(558)가 수신된 경우와 MYBSS 레거시 무선랜 신호(556)가 수신된 경우 모두에 해당 채널이 점유 상태인 것으로 판별한다.
한편, 수신된 특정 채널의 무선 신호가 제1 CCA-SD 임계값(40)과 제2 CCA-SD 임계값(20) 사이의 수신 신호 세기(RX RSSI)를 갖는 무선랜 신호인 경우, 해당 신호가 논-레거시 무선랜 정보를 포함하는지 여부 및 단말과 동일한 BSS 식별자 정보를 갖는지 여부에 기초하여 채널의 점유 여부가 판별된다. 일 실시예에 따르면, 제1 CCA-SD 임계값(40)은 레거시 단말에 적용되는 CCA-SD 임계값과 동일한 레벨로 설정될 수 있으며, 제2 CCA-SD 임계값(20)은 제1 CCA-SD 임계값(40)보다 높고 CCA-ED 임계값보다 낮거나 같은 레벨로 설정될 수 있다.
만약 무선 신호에서 논-레거시 무선랜 정보가 획득되고, 해당 신호의 BSS 식별자 정보가 단말의 BSS 식별자 정보와 상이할 경우(즉, 논-레거시 OBSS 신호 542인 경우), 해당 채널은 유휴 상태인 것으로 판별된다. 그러나 그 이외의 경우 즉, 무선 신호에서 논-레거시 무선랜 정보가 획득되지 않거나(즉, 레거시 신호), 해당 신호의 BSS 식별자 정보가 단말의 BSS 식별자 정보와 동일할 경우(즉, MYBSS 신호), 해당 채널은 점유 상태인 것으로 판별된다. 더욱 구체적으로, 채널이 점유 상태인 것으로 판별되는 경우로는, i) 무선 신호에서 논-레거시 무선랜 정보가 획득되지 않고, 해당 신호의 BSS 식별자 정보가 단말의 BSS 식별자 정보와 상이한 경우(즉, 레거시 OBSS 신호 544인 경우), ii) 무선 신호에서 논-레거시 무선랜 정보가 획득되지 않고, 해당 신호의 BSS 식별자 정보가 단말의 BSS 식별자 정보와 동일한 경우(즉, 레거시 MYBSS 신호 546인 경우) 및 iii) 무선 신호에서 논-레거시 무선랜 정보가 획득되고, 해당 신호의 BSS 식별자 정보가 단말의 BSS 식별자 정보와 동일한 경우(즉, 논-레거시 MYBSS 신호 548인 경우)가 있다.
즉, 무선 신호에서 논-레거시 무선랜 정보가 획득되지 않는 경우에는 해당 채널이 점유 상태인 것으로 판별되지만, 무선 신호에서 논-레거시 무선랜 정보가 획득되는 경우에는 해당 신호의 BSS 식별자 정보가 단말의 BSS 식별자 정보와 동일한지 여부에 기초하여 채널의 점유 여부가 판별된다. 따라서 본 발명의 실시예에 따르면, 무선 신호에서 논-레거시 무선랜 정보가 획득될 때에는, 무선 신호의 BSS 식별자 정보에 기초하여 해당 채널의 점유 여부가 판별될 수 있다. 일 실시예에 따르면, 무선 신호에서 논-레거시 무선랜 정보가 획득되지 않을 경우, 본 발명의 CCA 수행을 위해 참조되는 BSS 식별자 정보가 해당 신호로부터 추출되지 않을 수 있다. 이때, 단말은 해당 신호에서 BSS 식별자 정보가 추출되는지 여부에 관계 없이, 채널이 점유 상태인 것으로 판별할 수 있다.
이와 같은 시그널 디텍션 과정은 수신된 무선 신호의 프리앰블을 참조하여 수행될 수 있다. 일 실시예에 따르면, 시그널 디텍션 과정에서 채널이 점유 상태인 것으로 판별되면, 보호 중인 무선 신호의 수신 중에 수신 신호 세기(RX RSSI)가 제1 CCA-SD 임계값(40) 이하로 내려간다 하더라도, 단말은 무선 신호의 프레임 전송 시간 동안 채널에 액세스 하지 않을 수 있다.
한편, 수신된 특정 채널의 무선 신호가 제2 CCA-SD 임계값(20)과 CCA-ED 임계값(10) 사이의 무선랜 신호(520)인 경우, 해당 채널은 점유 상태인 것으로 판별된다. 이때, 무선랜 신호(520)를 수신한 단말은 해당 신호에서 논-레거시 무선랜 정보가 획득되는지 여부에 관계 없이, 더 나아가 해당 신호가 단말과 동일한 BSS 식별자 정보를 갖는 무선랜 신호인지 여부에 관계 없이 해당 신호가 수신된 채널을 점유 상태인 것으로 판별한다.
에너지 디텍션 과정에서, 단말에 수신된 특정 채널의 무선 신호가 CCA-ED 임계값(10) 이상의 무선 신호(510)인 경우, 해당 채널은 점유 상태인 것으로 판별된다. 전술한 바와 같이, 단말은 무선랜 신호가 아닌 다른 종류의 무선 신호가 수신된 경우에도, 무선 신호의 수신 신호 세기(RX RSSI)가 CCA-ED 임계값(10) 이상인 경우 해당 채널이 점유 상태인 것으로 판별한다.
다음으로 도 12의 실시예에 따르면, 수신된 특정 채널의 무선 신호가 수신 감도(50) 이상이고 제1 CCA-SD 임계값(40) 이하의 수신 신호 세기(RX RSSI)를 갖는 무선랜 신호인 경우, 해당 신호가 논-레거시 무선랜 정보를 포함하는지 여부 및 단말과 동일한 BSS 식별자 정보를 갖는지 여부에 기초하여 채널의 점유 여부가 판별된다.
만약 무선 신호에서 논-레거시 무선랜 정보가 획득되고, 해당 신호의 BSS 식별자 정보가 단말의 BSS 식별자 정보와 동일할 경우(즉, 논-레거시 MYBSS 신호 558인 경우), 해당 채널은 점유 상태인 것으로 판별된다. 그러나 그 이외의 경우 즉, 무선 신호의 BSS 식별자 정보가 단말의 BSS 식별자 정보와 상이하거나(즉, OBSS 신호), 해당 신호에서 논-레거시 무선랜 정보가 획득되지 않으면(즉, 레거시 신호), 해당 채널은 유휴 상태인 것으로 판별된다. 더욱 구체적으로 채널이 유휴 상태로 판별되는 경우로는, i) 무선 신호에서 논-레거시 무선랜 정보가 획득되고, 해당 신호의 BSS 식별자 정보가 단말의 BSS 식별자 정보와 상이한 경우(즉, 논-레거시 OBSS 신호 552인 경우), ii) 무선 신호에서 논-레거시 무선랜 정보가 획득되지 않고, 해당 신호의 BSS 식별자 정보가 단말의 BSS 식별자 정보와 상이한 경우(즉, 레거시 OBSS 신호 554인 경우) 및 iii) 무선 신호에서 논-레거시 무선랜 정보가 획득되지 않고, 해당 신호의 BSS 식별자 정보가 단말의 BSS 식별자 정보와 동일한 경우(즉, 레거시 MYBSS 신호 556인 경우)가 있다.
즉, 무선 신호에서 논-레거시 무선랜 정보가 획득되지 않는 경우에는 해당 채널이 유휴 상태인 것으로 판별되지만, 무선 신호에서 논-레거시 무선랜 정보가 획득되는 경우에는 해당 신호의 BSS 식별자 정보가 단말의 BSS 식별자 정보와 동일한지 여부에 기초하여 채널의 점유 여부가 판별된다. 도 12의 실시예에 따르면, 무선 신호에서 논-레거시 무선랜 정보가 획득되고 해당 신호의 BSS 식별자 정보가 단말의 BSS 식별자 정보와 상이할 경우, 기 설정된 CCA 임계값(20)이 해당 채널의 CCA에 이용될 수 있다. 그러나 무선 신호에서 논-레거시 무선랜 정보가 획득되고, 해당 신호의 BSS 식별자 정보가 단말의 BSS 식별자 정보와 동일하면, 별도의 CCA 임계값의 설정 없이 해당 신호가 수신 감도(50) 이상의 수신 신호 세기를 가질 경우 해당 채널이 점유 상태인 것으로 판별될 수 있다. 일 실시예에 따르면, 무선 신호에서 논-레거시 무선랜 정보가 획득되지 않을 경우, 본 발명의 CCA 수행을 위해 참조되는 BSS 식별자 정보가 해당 신호로부터 추출되지 않을 수 있다. 이때, 단말은 해당 신호에서 BSS 식별자 정보가 추출되는지 여부에 관계 없이, 채널이 유휴 상태인 것으로 판별할 수 있다.
도 12의 실시예에 따르면, CCA 수행을 위해 참조되는 BSS 식별자 정보가 논-레거시 무선랜 정보에 포함되고, 수신된 무선랜 신호가 이러한 논-레거시 무선랜 정보를 포함하지 않을 경우에도, 효율적인 CCA를 수행할 수 있다. 즉, 수신된 무선 신호가 상기 BSS 식별자 정보가 추출되지 않는 레거시 무선랜 신호인 경우 해당 신호의 수신 신호 세기에 따라 일괄적으로 해당 채널이 유휴 상태 또는 점유 상태인 것으로 판별함으로, 레거시 무선랜 신호의 BSS 식별자가 단말의 BSS 식별자와 실제로 동일한지 여부를 판별하는데 필요한 시간 지연을 최소화 할 수 있다. 즉, 단말은 수신된 무선 신호가 논-레거시 무선랜 신호인 경우에만, BSS 식별자 정보를 추가적으로 확인하여 채널의 유휴 상태/점유 상태를 판별할 수 있다.
다음으로 도 13의 실시예에 따르면, 수신된 특정 채널의 무선 신호의 수신 신호 세기(RX RSSI)가 수신 감도(50) 이상이고 제1 CCA-SD 임계값(40) 이하인 경우, 해당 채널은 유휴 상태인 것으로 판별된다. 이때, 단말은 수신된 신호가 논-레거시 무선랜 정보를 포함하는지 여부 및 단말과 동일한 BSS 식별자 정보를 갖는지 여부에 관계 없이 해당 채널을 유휴 상태인 것으로 판별한다. 또한 도 13의 실시예에 따르면, 무선 신호에서 논-레거시 무선랜 정보가 획득되고 해당 신호의 BSS 식별자 정보가 단말의 BSS 식별자 정보와 동일할 경우 제1 CCA 임계값이 해당 채널의 CCA에 이용될 수 있다. 그러나 무선 신호에서 논-레거시 무선랜 정보가 획득되고 해당 신호의 BSS 식별자 정보가 단말의 BSS 식별자 정보와 상이할 경우 상기 제1 CCA 임계값 보다 높은 레벨의 제2 CCA 임계값이 해당 채널의 CCA에 이용될 수 있다.
도 13의 실시예에 따르면, 단말과 동일한 BSS 식별자 정보를 갖는 무선랜 신호가 수신된 경우, 해당 무선랜 신호가 논-레거시 무선랜 정보를 포함하는지 여부에 따라 서로 다른 CCA 임계값이 적용되는 불평등 문제를 해소할 수 있다. 즉, 레거시 MYBSS 신호와 논-레거시 MYBSS 신호에 대한 CCA 임계값을 동일하게 적용함으로, 레거시 단말과 논-레거시 단말간의 채널 점유에 대한 형평성을 유지할 수 있다.
한편, 도 12 및 도 13의 실시예에서 제1 CCA-SD 임계값(40) 이상의 수신 신호 세기(RX RSSI)를 갖는 무선 신호가 수신된 경우의 CCA 과정은 전술한 도 11의 실시예와 동일하게 수행될 수 있다.
도 14는 본 발명의 일 실시예에 따른 무선랜 신호의 프레임 구조를 나타내고 있다. 도 14를 참조하면, 본 발명의 실시예에 따른 무선랜 신호는 레거시 단말(이를 테면, 802.11a/g 등의 단말)을 위한 레거시 프리앰블(710)과 논-레거시 단말(이를 테면, 802.11ax 단말)을 위한 논-레거시 프리앰블(720)을 포함할 수 있다. 먼저, 레거시 프리앰블(710)은 레거시 단말이 디코딩 가능한 레거시 무선랜 정보 이를 테면, L-STF, L-LTF, L-SIG 필드 등을 포함할 수 있다. 다음으로, 논-레거시 프리앰블(720)은 논-레거시 단말에서만 디코딩 가능한 논-레거시 무선랜 정보를 포함하며, 상기 논-레거시 무선랜 정보는 레거시 단말에서 디코딩이 불가능할 수 있다. 한편, 레거시 프리앰블(710)은 실시예에 따라 논-레거시 단말이 디코딩 가능한 논-레거시 무선랜 정보를 적어도 일부 포함할 수 있다. 뿐만 아니라, 논-레거시 프리앰블(720)은 레거시 프리앰블(710)의 적어도 하나의 필드 이를 테면, L-SIG 필드의 일부 또는 전부가 반복된(repeated) 정보를 포함할 수 있다.
본 발명의 일 실시예에 따르면, CCA 수행을 위해 참조되는 BSS 식별자 정보는 논-레거시 무선랜 정보로서 논-레거시 프리앰블(720)에 포함될 수 있다. 이때, BSS 식별자 정보는 논-레거시 프리앰블(720)의 기 설정된 비트 필드로부터 추출될 수 있다. 한편 본 발명의 다른 실시예에 따르면, BSS 식별자 정보는 레거시 프리앰블(710)의 부가적인 정보로부터 추출될 수 있다. 예를 들어, 레거시 프리앰블(710)은 후술하는 바와 같이 논-레거시 무선랜 정보를 부가적인 서브캐리어 세트 등을 통해 포함할 수 있으며, BSS 식별자 정보는 레거시 프리앰블(710)에 포함된 논-레거시 무선랜 정보로부터 획득될 수 있다. 본 발명의 또 다른 실시예에 다르면, BSS 식별자 정보는 레거시 프리앰블(710)의 기 설정된 비트 필드로부터 추출될 수도 있다. 이때, 레거시 프리앰블(710)의 기 설정된 비트 필드는 레거시 단말을 위해 설정된 비트 필드일 수 있으며, 후술하는 바와 같이 특정한 조건 하에 해당 비트 필드의 값을 BSS 식별자 정보로 사용할 수 있다.
도 15는 본 발명에 일 실시예에 따라 BSS 식별자 정보를 나타내는 방법을 도시하고 있다. 본 발명의 실시예에 따르면, BSS 식별자 정보는 도 14의 논-레거시 프리앰블(720)의 기 설정된 비트 필드로 표현될 수 있다. 본 발명의 일 실시예에 따르면, BSS 식별자 정보는 각 BSS에 할당된 BSS 식별자의 축약된 정보로서, 실제 BSS 식별자 보다 적은 비트를 갖는 정보일 수 있다. 예를 들어, 특정 무선랜 시스템에서 BSS 식별자가 24 비트(bits)의 정보로 표현될 때, BSS 식별자 정보는 1 비트 ~ 23 비트의 범위에서 기 설정된 길이의 비트 필드로 표현될 수 있다. 본 발명에서 BSS 식별자 정보는 실제 BSS 식별자를 기 설정된 카테고리로 구분한 정보이며, BSS 컬러로도 명명될 수 있다. 실제 BSS 식별자로부터 축약된 BSS 컬러를 획득하는 방법으로는, BSS 식별자의 기 설정된 위치의 비트 값들의 조합을 이용하는 방법, BSS 식별자에 기 설정된 해쉬(Hash) 함수를 적용한 결과값을 이용하는 방법 등이 있다.
도 15는 이에 대한 일 실시예로써, BSS 식별자의 마지막 3개의 비트 값을 이용하여 BSS 컬러를 획득한 결과를 나타내고 있다. 이와 같이 BSS 컬러는 실제 BSS 식별자 보다 적은 양의 정보로 무선랜 신호의 프리앰블에 포함될 수 있으며, 이에 따라 각 단말은 수신된 무선랜 신호가 해당 단말과 동일한 BSS 식별자를 갖는 신호인지 여부를 짧은 시간 안에 효율적으로 판별할 수 있다. 이러한 BSS 식별자 정보는 논-레거시 프리앰블의 기 설정된 비트로 표현될 수 있다.
한편 본 발명의 일 실시예에 따르면, 논-레거시 프리앰블(720)은 반복된 L-SIG 필드를 포함할 수 있는데, 반복된 L-SIG 필드는 레거시 프리앰블(710)의 L-SIG 필드와 적어도 일부 비트가 동일하도록 설정될 수 있다. 이때, 반복된 L-SIG 필드의 비트 중 레거시 프리앰블(710)의 L-SIG 필드와 상이한 비트는 BSS 식별자 정보, 시스템의 대역폭 정보, 논-레거시 무선랜 시스템 정보, 채널 정보 등을 나타낼 수 있다.
본 발명의 추가적인 실시예에 따르면, 반복된 L-SIG 필드에 적용되는 변조 방법을 통해 추가적인 정보가 전송될 수 있다. 즉, 반복된 L-SIG 필드는 레거시 프리앰블(710)의 L-SIG 필드와 동일한 변조 값으로 표현될 수도 있으며, 상반된 변조 값으로 표현 될 수도 있다. 여기에서 상반된 변조 값은 레거시 프리앰블(710)의 L-SIG로 전송되는 변조 심볼들과 반복된 L-SIG의 변조 심볼들 간의 위상천이를 통해 나타날 수 있으며, 위상 변화량을 통해 추가적인 정보 전송이 가능할 수 있다. 구체적으로, 레거시 프리앰블(710)의 L-SIG와 반복된 L-SIG에 (1, 1)이 곱해져서 전송되는 경우에는 양 필드의 심볼들이 동일한 위상을 갖게 되고, (1, -1)이 곱해져서 전송되는 경우에는 반복된 L-SIG의 심볼들과 레거시 프리앰블(710)의 심볼들 간에 180도의 위상 천이가 발생하게 된다. 이때, 반복된 L-SIG 필드가 레거시 프리앰블(710)의 L-SIG 필드와 동일한 변조 값으로 표현되는지 여부에 따라 논-레거시 무선랜 정보에 대한 특정 플래그 정보가 결정 될 수 있는데, 이를테면 논-레거시 프리앰블의 SIG-A 필드가 가변 길이인지 여부, 논-레거시 프리앰블에 SIG-B 필드가 포함되는지 여부, 논-레거시 프리앰블(또는, 레거시 프리앰블)의 특정 비트 필드가 BSS 식별자 정보를 나타내는지 여부 등이 결정될 수 있다.
도 16 및 도 17은 본 발명의 다른 실시예로써, 무선랜 신호의 부가적인 서브캐리어 세트를 이용하여 논-레거시 무선랜 정보를 획득하는 방법을 도시하고 있다.
먼저, 도 16은 무선랜 신호의 레거시 프리앰블에서 사용되는 서브캐리어 구성의 일 실시예를 나타내고 있다. 본 발명의 일 실시예에 따르면, 논-레거시 무선랜 신호의 레거시 프리앰블의 서브캐리어 세트는 레거시 무선랜 신호의 서브캐리어 세트와 동일하게 구성될 수 있다. 즉, 레거시 프리앰블의 서브캐리어 세트는 20MHz의 대역폭에서 4개의 파일럿 서브캐리어와 48개의 데이터 서브캐리어를 포함하는 총 52개의 서브캐리어로 구성될 수 있다. 이때, 각 서브캐리어의 번호를 -26, -25, … , -2, -1, 1, 2, … , 25, 26으로 설정했을 때, -21, -7, 7, 21의 번호를 갖는 서브캐리어는 파일럿 서브캐리어로, 나머지 번호의 서브캐리어는 데이터 서브캐리어로 사용된다. 이와 같은 서브캐리어의 기본 구성은 레거시 무선랜 시스템(이를 테면, 802.11 a/g)과 논-레거시 무선랜 시스템(이를 테면, 802.11 ax 등)이 공존하는 환경에서, 상호간의 호환성을 유지하기 위해 필요하다. 즉, 레거시 무선랜 신호뿐만 아니라 논-레거시 무선랜 신호의 레거시 프리앰블도 도 16과 같은 서브캐리어 구성을 갖도록 함으로 레거시 단말에 대한 하위 호환성을 제공할 수 있다.
도 17은 논-레거시 무선랜 신호에서 사용되는 서브캐리어 구성의 실시예를 나타내고 있다. 단말에 사용되는 필터나 앰프 등의 발전에 따라 논-레거시 무선랜 시스템에서는 인접 대역폭의 간섭 없이 추가적인 서브캐리어의 사용이 가능하다. 도 17을 참조하면, 본 발명의 실시예에 따른 논-레거시 무선랜 신호의 서브캐리어는 제1 서브캐리어 세트(800)와 제2 서브캐리어 세트(820)를 포함하여 구성될 수 있다. 더욱 구체적으로, 제1 서브캐리어 세트(800)는 도 16에 도시된 레거시 무선랜 신호의 서브캐리어 세트와 동일하게 구성될 수 있다. 또한, 제2 서브캐리어 세트(820)는 제1 서브캐리어 세트(800)와 다른 서브캐리어 세트로써, 일 실시예에 따르면 제1 서브캐리어 세트(800)의 상, 하위 인덱스에 각각 2개씩, 총 4개의 추가된 서브캐리어를 포함할 수 있다. 도 17의 실시예에 따르면, 논-레거시 무선랜 신호는 레거시 무선랜 신호와 동일한 위치 및 개수의 파일럿 서브캐리어를 사용하므로, 기존의 48개에서 4개 증가한 52개의 데이터 서브캐리어를 사용할 수 있게 된다. 일 실시예에 따르면, 이러한 서브캐리어 구성은 논-레거시 무선랜 신호의 레거시 프리앰블 파트 이후부터 사용될 수 있다. 논-레거시 단말은 수신된 논-레거시 무선랜 신호의 논-레거시 프리앰블 및 데이터 필드 등에서 각각 총 56개의 서브캐리어를 통해 정보를 획득할 수 있다.
본 발명의 실시예에 따르면, 논-레거시 프리앰블에 포함된 제2 서브캐리어 세트(820)는 BSS 식별자 정보, 시스템의 대역폭 정보, 논-레거시 무선랜 시스템 정보, 채널 정보 등을 나타낼 수 있다. 이때, 상기 제2 서브캐리어 세트(820)의 패리티 체크(parity check)를 위한 별도의 패리티 비트(parity bit)가 논-레거시 프리앰블에 포함될 수 있다. 일 실시예에 따르면, 전술한 바와 같이 논-레거시 프리앰블이 반복된 L-SIG 필드를 포함할 경우, 상기 BSS 식별자 정보, 시스템의 대역폭 정보, 논-레거시 무선랜 시스템 정보, 채널 정보 등은 반복된 L-SIG 필드의 제2 서브캐리어 세트(820)를 통해 표현될 수 있다.
한편 본 발명의 다른 실시예에 따르면, 도 17의 서브캐리어 구성은 논-레거시 무선랜 신호의 레거시 프리앰블에 확장 적용될 수 있다. 즉, 논-레거시 무선랜 신호의 레거시 프리앰블은 제2 서브캐리어 세트(820)를 추가로 포함할 수 있으며, 제2 서브캐리어 세트(820)를 통해 논-레거시 무선랜 정보를 전달할 수 있다. 이때, 레거시 단말은 제2 서브캐리어 세트(820)로부터 정보를 획득하지 못하지만, 논-레거시 단말은 레거시 프리앰블의 제2 서브캐리어 세트(820)로부터 추가적인 정보를 획득할 수 있게 된다.
예를 들어, 레거시 프리앰블에 추가적으로 사용되는 제2 서브캐리어 세트(820)가 4개의 서브캐리어를 포함한다고 가정하면, 해당 서브캐리어의 인덱스(즉, 서브캐리어 번호)는 도 17과 같이 -28, -27, 27, 28로 각각 설정될 수 있다. 이때, 레거시 프리앰블에 BPSK 변조 방식이 사용되고 제2 서브캐리어 세트에 이와 동일한 변조 방식이 적용되면 총 4 비트의 정보가 추가로 전송될 수 있다. 마찬가지로, 제2 서브캐리어 세트에 QPSK 변조 방식이 적용될 경우 총 8 비트의 정보가 추가로 전송될 수 있다. 이때, 레거시 프리앰블에 포함되는 제2 서브캐리어 세트의 패리티 체크를 위한 패리티 비트가 논-레거시 프리앰블에 포함될 수 있다.
본 발명의 추가적인 실시예에 따르면, 레거시 프리앰블의 제2 서브캐리어 세트(820)가 나타낼 수 있는 총 비트 중 일부만이 추가 정보 전송용으로 사용될 수 있다. 이를테면, 제2 서브캐리어 세트(820)는 레거시 프리앰블의 패리티 체크(parity check)와의 호환성을 위해 일부 비트만이 추가 정보 전송용으로 사용될 수 있다. 즉, 기존에 L-SIG에서 사용되던 패리티 비트(parity bit)와의 호환을 위해 제2 서브캐리어 세트(820)에 의해 추가되는 정보는 짝수의 패리티(even parity)를 갖도록 할 수 있으며, BPSK 변조 방식을 사용할 경우 제2 서브캐리어 세트(820)를 통해 전달 가능한 정보는 1010, 0101, 1100, 0011, 1001, 0110, 1111, 0000으로 총 3 비트의 정보가 될 수 있다.
다른 실시예에 따르면, 제2 서브캐리어 세트(820)의 특정 비트는 패리티 체크 비트로 사용되고, 나머지 비트가 추가 정보 전송을 위해 사용될 수 있다. 이를테면, 제2 서브캐리어 세트(820)의 4개의 비트 중 3개의 비트는 추가 정보 전송용으로 사용되고, 1개의 비트는 패리티 비트로 사용될 수 있다. 이때, 제2 서브캐리어 세트(820)의 패리티 비트는 제2 서브캐리어 세트(820)에 의해 추가되는 비트를 위한 패리티 체크에 사용될 수도 있으며, 제2 서브캐리어 세트(820)를 포함한 L-SIG 전체에 대한 패리티 체크에 사용될 수도 있다. 이 경우, 레거시 무선랜 신호에 대해서는 L-SIG의 기존의 패리티 비트를 활용하여 패리티 체크를 수행할 수 있으며, 논-레거시 무선랜 신호에 대해서는 L-SIG의 기존의 패리티 비트와 제2 서브캐리어 세트(820)의 패리티 비트를 함께 활용하여 패리티 체크를 수행함으로 더욱 신뢰성 높은 패리티 체크가 가능하게 된다. 또 다른 실시예에 따르면, 제2 서브캐리어 세트(820)에 의해 추가되는 논-레거시 무선랜 정보는 L-SIG의 예비 비트(reserved bit)를 이용하여 패리티 체크가 수행될 수도 있다.
이와 같이 레거시 프리앰블의 제2 서브캐리어 세트(820)를 통해 논-레거시 단말을 위한 추가 정보가 전송되면, 논-레거시 단말은 수신된 무선랜 신호의 레거시 프리앰블에서 보다 빨리 추가 정보를 획득하고 이를 이용하여 초기 접속 지연이나 불필요한 프리앰블, 헤더 및 패킷 등의 검출을 줄이는데 사용할 수 있다. 또한 본 발명의 실시예에 따르면, 논-레거시 단말은 레거시 프리앰블의 제2 서브캐리어 세트(820)로부터 논-레거시 무선랜 정보를 획득할 수 있는데, 이때 획득되는 논-레거시 무선랜 정보에는 전술한 BSS 식별자 정보, 시스템의 대역폭 정보, 논-레거시 무선랜 시스템 정보, 채널 정보 등이 포함될 수 있다. 논-레거시 단말은 수신된 무선랜 신호의 레거시 프리앰블에서 제2 서브캐리어 세트(820)가 획득될 경우, 해당 무선랜 신호가 논-레거시 무선랜 정보를 포함함을 인지할 수 있다.
도 17의 실시예에서는 제2 서브캐리어 세트(820)에 4개의 추가적인 데이터 서브캐리어가 포함되는 실시예에 대하여 서술하였지만, 본 발명은 이에 한정하지 않으며 이와 다른 개수의 서브캐리어가 제2 서브캐리어 세트(820)에 포함될 수 있다. 또한, 도 17의 실시예는 무선랜 신호의 대역폭이 20MHz일 때뿐만 아니라, 40MHz, 80MHz 및 160MHz 등의 다른 대역폭이 사용될 때에도 적용될 수 있다.
도 18은 본 발명의 또 다른 실시예로써, 레거시 프리앰블의 기 설정된 비트 필드를 이용하여 논-레거시 무선랜 정보를 나타내는 방법을 도시하고 있다.
본 발명의 추가적인 실시예에 따르면, 특정한 조건에서 레거시 프리앰블의 기 설정된 비트 필드로부터 논-레거시 무선랜 정보가 추출될 수 있다. 도 18은 이에 대한 일 실시예로써 레거시 프리앰블의 L-SIG에 포함된 레이트(Rate) 비트 필드를 나타내고 있다. 도시된 바와 같이, 기존의 레거시 프리앰블에서 Rate 비트 필드 중 4번째 비트는 항상 1로 설정되어 있었다. 따라서 Rate 비트 필드 중 앞의 3개의 비트 값을 통해 레거시 무선랜 신호의 데이터 율, 변조 방식 및 부호율에 대한 정보가 획득될 수 있었다. 따라서 본 발명의 실시예에 따르면, Rate 비트 필드의 4번째 비트의 값에 기초하여 해당 Rate 비트 필드가 논-레거시 무선랜 정보를 나타내는지 여부를 결정할 수 있다. 즉, Rate 비트 필드의 4번째 비트가 1의 값을 가질 경우, 해당 Rate 비트 필드는 기존 정보 즉, 데이터 율, 변조 방식 및 부호율을 나타낼 수 있다. 그러나 Rate 비트 필드의 4번째 비트가 0의 값을 가질 경우, 해당 Rate 비트 필드는 논-레거시 무선랜 정보를 나타낼 수 있다.
Rate 비트 필드가 논-레거시 무선랜 정보를 포함하는 것으로 판별될 경우, 도 18에 예시된 바와 같이 해당 Rate 비트 필드의 앞의 3개의 비트 값에서 BSS 식별자 정보가 추출될 수 있다. 그러나 본 발명은 이에 한정하지 않으며, Rate 비트 필드로부터 논-레거시 무선랜 신호의 대역폭 정보, 채널 정보, 결합 식별자(Association Identifier, AID) 등의 논-레거시 무선랜 정보가 추출될 수도 있다. 이때, 논-레거시 단말을 위한 실제 Rate 정보는 논-레거시 프리앰블을 통해 전송될 수 있다. 한편, Rate 비트 필드가 논-레거시 무선랜 정보를 포함하는 경우에도, 레거시 단말은 이를 Rate 정보로 해석할 수 있다. 이러한 상황을 위해, L-SIG의 길이(length) 필드를 적절히 설정함으로써 레거시 단말들은 타 단말의 전송으로 인해 전송 지연이 필요한 경우 타 단말 패킷의 L-SIG 길이 정보를 이용하여 전송 지연(NAV 설정 등)을 수행할 수 있다. 더욱 구체적으로, 레거시 프리앰블의 길이 필드는 전송 데이터의 크기(byte 수)를 나타내므로, Rate 비트 필드의 변조 및 부호화 방식(Modulation and Coding Scheme, MCS)을 기반으로 OFDM 심볼당 전송 비트 수 정보를 획득하고 이를 이용하여 상기 길이 필드를 나눠주면 필요한 OFDM 심볼 수를 알 수 있다. 이때, 획득된 OFDM 심볼 수에 따라 NAV(Network Allocation Vector) 설정이 수행될 수 있는데, 본 발명의 실시예에 따라 Rate 비트 필드가 논-레거시 무선랜 정보로 활용될 경우에는 길이 필드를 조정하여 필요한 길이만큼의 NAV 설정이 가능하도록 할 수 있다.
이와 같이 본 발명의 실시예에 따르면, 레거시 프리앰블의 기 설정된 특정 비트의 정보에 기초하여, 해당 레거시 프리앰블이 논-레거시 무선랜 정보를 포함하고 있는지 판별될 수 있다. 만약, 레거시 프리앰블이 논-레거시 무선랜 정보를 포함하고 있는 것으로 판별될 경우, 레거시 프리앰블의 기 설정된 비트 필드, 이를 테면 Rate 비트 필드로부터 BSS 식별자 정보 등의 논-레거시 무선랜 정보가 추출될 수 있다.
한편 본 발명의 추가적인 실시예에 따르면, 전술한 레거시 프리앰블의 제2 서브캐리어 세트와 상기 특정 비트 필드(즉, Rate 비트 필드)의 조합을 이용하여 더 많은 비트의 정보를 확보할 수 있으며, 이를 통해 논-레거시 무선랜 정보의 전달이 가능하다. 이를 테면, 레거시 프리앰블이 제2 서브캐리어 세트를 추가로 포함하여 구성될 경우, 논-레거시 단말은 해당 레거시 프리앰블이 논-레거시 무선랜 정보를 포함하고 있는 것으로 판별하고 Rate 비트 필드의 4개의 비트 전부 또는 일부로부터 BSS 식별자 정보를 추출할 수 있다. 더 나아가, 논-레거시 단말은 레거시 프리앰블이 제2 서브캐리어 세트를 추가로 포함하여 구성될 경우, 레거시 프리앰블의 L-SIG 비트 필드 전체를 논-레거시 무선랜 정보로 해석할 수도 있다. 이와 같이 도 18의 실시예에 따르면, 논-레거시 프리앰블을 확인하기 전에 레거시 프리앰블로부터 BSS 식별자 정보 등의 논-레거시 무선랜 정보의 적어도 일부를 획득할 수 있으므로, 더 짧은 시간 안에 CCA를 수행할 수 있게 된다.
도 19 내지 도 24는 본 발명의 다른 실시예에 따른 CCA 수행 방법을 나타내고 있다. 본 발명의 다른 실시예에 따르면, 광대역(wide bandwidth)을 이용한 데이터 전송 시, 부채널들의 CCA 결과에 기초하여 주채널의 CCA 임계값이 결정될 수 있다.
먼저, 도 19는 무선랜 통신을 위한 광대역(wide bandwidth) 할당 방법을 나타내고 있다. 도 19에서 CH1 내지 CH8은 각각 20MHz 단위의 채널들을 나타내지만, 본 발명이 적용되는 통신 방식에 따라 채널의 개수 및 대역폭은 변경될 수 있다.
무선랜 시스템에서 각 BSS의 단말들은 특정 채널을 주채널(Primary channel)로 설정하여 통신을 수행한다. 주채널은 non-AP STA들이 AP와 결합(association)하기 위해 사용되는 채널로써, 전송 대역폭에 따라 기본 20MHz에서 40MHz, 80MHz 등으로 확장될 수 있다. 한편, 부채널(Secondary channel)은 주채널과 동일한 대역폭을 갖는 인접 채널로써, 주채널과 결합되어(associated) 2배의 대역폭을 갖는 채널을 형성한다.
BSS의 단말들은 각 채널에 대해 CCA(Clear Channel Assessment)를 수행하여 해당 채널이 점유 상태(busy)인지 여부를 체크하고, 유휴 상태(idle)인 것으로 판별된 채널을 기초로 대역폭 확장을 수행한다. 즉, 단말은 20MHz를 기본 대역폭으로 하여, 주채널에 인접한 채널들의 유휴 상태 여부에 따라 전송 대역폭을 40MHz, 80MHz 및 160MHz 등으로 확장해 나갈 수 있다.
더욱 구체적으로 도 19를 참조하면, CH1이 BSS의 20MHz 주채널로 설정되어 있으며, CH1에 인접한 CH2가 유휴 상태인 경우 CH1과 CH2를 각각 주채널과 부채널로 하는 전체 40MHz의 전송 대역폭이 사용될 수 있다. 또한, CH1 내지 CH2와 인접한 CH3 내지 CH4 역시 모두 유휴 상태인 경우, CH1 내지 CH2를 40MHz 주채널로 하고, CH3 내지 CH4를 40MHz 부채널로 하는 전체 80MHz의 전송 대역폭이 사용될 수 있다. 마찬가지로, CH1 내지 CH4와 인접한 CH5 내지 CH8이 모두 유휴 상태인 경우, CH1 내지 CH4를 80MHz 주채널로 하고, CH5 내지 CH8를 80MHz 부채널로 하는 전체 160MHz의 전송 대역폭이 사용될 수 있다.
도 20은 단말의 광대역 접근 방법의 일 실시예를 나타내고 있다. 도 20의 실시예에서 해당 BSS는 최대 대역폭이 80MHz로 설정되어 있다. 도 20을 참조하면, 백오프 절차 및 EDCA(Enhanced Distributed Coordination Access)는 20MHz 주채널(CH1)에서만 수행되며, 기타 부채널들(CH2~CH4)에서는 백오프 카운터 만료 전 PIFS 시간 동안의 CCA를 통해 해당 채널이 사용 가능한지 확인될 수 있다.
먼저, 도 20(a)는 설정된 최대 대역폭을 사용하여 데이터(80MHz PPDU)가 성공적으로 전송되는 실시예를 나타내고 있다. 이전 데이터 전송이 완료되고 채널이 유휴 상태가 되면, 단말은 해당 단말에 할당된 백오프 카운터를 이용하여 주채널(CH1)에 대한 백오프 절차를 수행한다. 백오프 절차 동안 단말은 주채널(CH1)에 대한 CCA를 수행하여 채널이 유휴 상태인 경우 백오프 카운터를 줄여나간다. 일 실시예에 따르면, 주채널(CH1)에 대한 CCA로는 프리앰블 신호를 감지하는 시그널 디텍션 기반의 CCA(CCA-SD)가 수행될 수 있다. 백오프 카운터가 만료되면, 단말은 해당 주채널(CH1)을 통해 데이터를 전송할 수 있다. 이때, 단말은 백오프 카운터가 만료되기 전 PIFS 시간 동안 다른 부채널들(CH2~CH4)에 대한 CCA를 수행하여 각 채널이 사용 가능한지 확인한다. 한편, 부채널들(CH2~CH4)에서의 CCA 동작은 주채널(CH1)처럼 지속적으로 수행되는 것이 아니므로, 다른 단말들의 데이터 전송이 수행되고 있는 상황에서 시작될 가능성이 높다. 따라서, 부채널들(CH2~CH4)에 대한 CCA로는 전송 중인 데이터의 중간 부분에서도 신호를 검출할 수 있는 코릴레이션 디텍션 기반의 CCA(CCA-CD)가 수행될 수 있다. 만약 도 20(a)에서와 같이 부채널들(CH2~CH4)이 PIFS의 시간 동안 유휴 상태일 경우, 단말은 주채널(CH1)과 부채널들(CH2~CH4)을 포함하는 광대역 채널로 데이터(80MHz PPDU)를 전송할 수 있다.
다음으로, 도 20(b) 및 도 20(c)는 최대 대역폭 중 일부 부채널이 점유 상태인 경우의 데이터 전송 실시예를 나타내고 있다. 더욱 구체적으로, 도 20(b)는 동적 대역폭(dynamic bandwidth) 동작에 따른 광대역 접근 방법을 나타내고 있다. 도 20(b)를 참조하면, 상기 CCA 과정에서 40MHz 부채널(CH3, CH4)이 점유 상태인 것으로 판별될 경우, 단말은 40MHz 주채널(CH1, CH2)만을 사용하여 데이터(40MHz PPDU)를 전송한다. 즉, 도 20(b)의 실시예에 따르면, 단말은 주채널과 모든 부채널이 유휴 상태(Idle)일 경우 최대 대역폭을 사용하여 데이터 전송을 수행하며, CCA 과정에서 적어도 일부의 부채널이 점유 상태(busy)일 경우에는 주채널을 포함하는 일부 대역폭만을 사용하여 데이터 전송을 수행한다. 이러한 채널 접근 방법은 가용한 채널의 대역폭에 따라 빠르게 PPDU(PLCP Protocol Data Unit)를 재구성할 수 있는 동적 할당 기능을 갖는 단말에서 사용될 수 있다.
다음으로, 도 20(c)는 정적 대역폭(static bandwidth) 동작에 따른 광대역 접근 방법을 나타내고 있다. 도 20(c)를 참조하면, 상기 CCA 과정에서 적어도 일부 채널이 점유 상태인 것으로 판별될 경우, 단말은 데이터를 전송하지 않으며, 최대 대역폭(80MHz)을 모두 사용할 수 있을 때까지 백오프 절차를 수행하여 대기한다. 즉, 도 20(c)의 실시예에 따르면, 최대 대역폭의 전체 채널 중 적어도 하나의 채널이 CCA 과정에서 점유 상태(busy)이면 단말은 전체 대역폭을 사용하지 않으며, 데이터 전송을 위해 주채널에 대한 백오프 절차를 다시 수행한다. 이러한 채널 접근 방법은 상기 동적 할당 기능을 갖지 않는 단말에서 사용될 수 있다.
도 21은 RTS(Request to Send) 프레임과 CTS(Clear to Send) 프레임을 이용한 단말의 광대역 접근 방법을 나타내고 있다. 도 21의 실시예에서도 해당 BSS는 최대 대역폭이 80MHz로 설정되어 있으며, 도 20의 실시예와 중복되는 설명을 생략하도록 한다. 도 21을 참조하면, 단말은 주채널(CH1)에 대한 백오프 절차를 수행하고, 백오프 카운터가 만료되면 주채널과 부채널을 포함하는 80MHz 대역폭의 채널들(CH1 ~ CH4)로 RTS 프레임을 전송한다.
먼저, 도 21(a)는 동적 대역폭 동작에 따른 광대역 접근 방법을 나타내고 있다. 도 21(a)를 참조하면, 단말은 80MHz 대역폭의 각 채널(CH1~CH4) 별로 RTS 프레임을 전송하였지만, 40MHz 부채널(CH3, CH4)이 점유 상태(busy)이므로 CH1 및 CH2에서만 CTS 프레임이 수신되었다. 따라서, 단말은 CTS 프레임이 수신된 채널들 즉, CH1 및 CH2를 각각 주채널, 부채널로 하는 40MHz의 일부 대역폭을 전송 대역폭으로 사용하여 데이터를 전송한다. 한편, 해당 단말은 주채널(CH1)에 대한 다음 백오프 절차가 수행될 때까지, CTS 프레임이 수신되지 않은 CH3와 CH4를 사용하지 않을 수 있다.
다음으로, 도 21(b)는 정적 대역폭 동작에 따른 광대역 접근 방법을 나타내고 있다. 도 21(b)를 참조하면, 단말은 80MHz 대역폭의 각 채널(CH1~CH4) 별로 RTS 프레임을 전송하였지만, 일부 채널(CH3, CH4)이 점유 상태(busy)이므로 CTS 프레임이 수신되지 않는다. 따라서, 단말은 80MHz 대역폭의 전체 채널(CH1~CH4)에 대한 사용을 연기하고, 다음 백오프 절차 이후에 다시 4개의 채널에 대한 RTS 프레임을 전송한다.
도 22는 본 발명의 일 실시예에 따른 CCA 임계값 선택 절차를 나타내고 있다. 본 발명의 일 실시예에 따르면, 단말의 데이터 전송을 위한 채널 할당 폭을 추가적으로 고려하여 CCA 임계값을 조정함으로 효율적인 광대역 통신을 수행할 수 있다.
동일한 전체 전송 파워를 갖는 데이터가 광대역 채널을 통해 전송되면, 단위 대역당 전송 파워가 낮아지게 된다. 따라서, 단말이 광대역 채널을 이용하여 데이터를 전송하고자 할 경우, 주채널에 적용되는 CCA 임계값을 일정 수준 높여주어도 데이터 충돌이 발생하지 않을 가능성이 높다. 본 발명의 실시예에 따르면, 단말이 광대역 채널을 이용하여 데이터를 전송할 경우, CCA 임계값 선택 절차(CCA threshold Selection Procedure, CSP)를 통해 주채널에서의 CCA 임계값이 결정될 수 있다.
더욱 구체적으로, 주채널의 백오프 절차를 위한 CCA 임계값은 부채널의 가용 여부에 기초하여 조정될 수 있다. 단말은 주채널과 결합 가능한 부채널들에 대한 CCA를 수행하고, 각 부채널의 가용 여부(즉, 유휴 상태 여부)를 판별한다. 단말은 가용 부채널의 대역폭 정보 이를 테면, 20MHz 부채널 가용 여부, 40MHz 부채널 가용 여부, 80MHz 부채널 가용 여부 등의 정보를 획득하고, 획득된 정보에 기초하여 주채널의 CCA 임계값을 증가시킬 수 있다. 20MHz 주채널의 백오프 절차를 위해 기본 설정된 CCA 임계값을 CCA_low라고 할 때, 적어도 하나의 부채널이 가용할 경우 상기 CCA 임계값은 CCA_low보다 높은 레벨로 설정될 수 있다. 예를 들어, 20MHz 부채널이 가용할 경우 주채널의 CCA 임계값은 CCA_low보다 높은 CCA_high1으로 설정되고, 20MHz 부채널과 더불어 40MHz 채널도 가용한 경우 상기 CCA 임계값은 CCA_high1보다 높은 CCA_high2로 설정될 수 있다. 또한, 20MHz 부채널, 40MHz 부채널 및 80MHz 부채널이 모두 가용한 경우, 주채널의 CCA 임계값은 CCA_high2보다 높은 CCA_high3로 설정될 수 있다. 즉, 조정된 CCA 임계값은 주채널과 결합 가능한 유휴 상태의 부채널 개수가 많을수록 높은 레벨로 설정될 수 있다.
본 발명의 실시예에 따르면, 주채널의 백오프 절차를 위한 CCA 임계값은 부채널의 가용 여부 정보와 BSS 식별자 정보를 함께 이용하여 조정될 수 있다. 더욱 구체적으로, 단말은 백오프 절차의 수행 중에 주채널의 무선 신호(간섭 신호)가 수신되면, 해당 무선 신호의 BSS 식별자 정보를 획득한다. 단말은 해당 무선 신호의 BSS 식별자 정보가 해당 단말의 식별자 정보와 동일한지 여부에 기초하여 CCA 임계값을 조정한다. 즉, 무선 신호의 BSS 식별자 정보가 단말의 BSS 식별자 정보가 상이할 경우의 조정된 CCA 임계값은, 무선 신호의 BSS 식별자 정보가 단말의 BSS 식별자 정보와 동일할 경우의 조정된 CCA 임계값 보다 높은 레벨로 설정될 수 있다. 이때, 단말의 BSS 식별자 정보는 해당 단말에 할당된 BSS 식별자 또는 해당 BSS 식별자의 축약된 정보를 나타낼 수 있다. 또한, 무선 신호의 BSS 식별자 정보는 해당 무선 신호를 전송한 무선 단말의 BSS 식별자 또는 이의 축약된 정보를 나타낼 수 있다. 따라서, 단말은 주채널과 결합 가능한 유휴 상태의 부채널이 많을수록, 그리고 수신된 간섭 신호의 BSS 식별자 정보가 해당 단말의 BSS 식별자 정보와 상이할수록 CCA 임계값을 높게 설정할 수 있다.
단말은 이와 같이 조정된 CCA 임계값을 이용하여 주채널에 대한 백오프 절차를 계속 수행한다. 즉, 단말은 CCA 임계값 조정 전의 백오프 카운터를 그대로 이용하여 백오프 절차를 이어간다. 전술한 CCA 임계값 선택 절차를 통해 CCA 임계값이 증가되면, 주채널의 백오프 절차를 위해 기본 설정된 CCA 임계값(CCA_low)보다 높은 간섭 신호가 수신되더라도 백오프 절차가 계속 진행될 수 있다. 한편, 본 발명의 CCA 임계값 선택 절차에서 사용되는 조정된 CCA 임계값의 개수 및 차등 방법은 도 22에 예시된 것으로 한정되지 아니하며, 실시예에 따라 다르게 설정될 수 있다. 즉, 본 발명의 실시예에서 CCA 임계값 선택 절차에 사용되는 조정된 CCA 임계값은 주채널의 백오프 절차를 위해 기본 설정된 CCA 임계값(CCA_low)과 다른 레벨을 갖는 적어도 하나 이상의 CCA 임계값을 포함한다.
도 23 및 도 24는 도 22의 실시예에 따른 CCA 임계값 조정에 기초한 광대역 통신 방법의 구체적인 실시예를 나타내고 있다. 도 23은 주채널에 간섭 신호가 감지되는 경우의 실시예를 나타내고 있으며, 도 24는 부채널에 간섭 신호가 감지되는 경우의 실시예를 나타내고 있다.
전술한 바와 같이, CCA 임계값 선택 절차(CSP)에 의해 조정된 CCA 임계값이 선택되면, 기본 설정된 CCA 임계값(CCA_low)보다 높은 간섭 신호가 주채널(CH1)에서 수신되더라도 백오프 절차가 계속 진행될 수 있다. 본 발명의 일 실시예에 따르면, CCA 임계값 선택 절차(CSP)는 백오프 절차의 수행 중에, 백오프 절차를 위해 기본 설정된 CCA 임계값(CCA_low)보다 높은 레벨의 무선 신호가 주채널(CH1)에서 감지되었을 때 수행될 수 있다. 단말은 주채널(CH1)에서 무선 신호가 감지된 이후, 일정 시간(CSP 기간) 동안 CCA 임계값 조정을 위해 필요한 정보를 수집하고, 수집된 정보에 기초하여 CCA 임계값을 조정한다. 해당 기간 동안 단말은 주채널(CH1)에서 감지된 무선 신호의 레벨, 해당 무선 신호의 BSS 식별자 정보 및 부채널(CH2~CH4)에서의 간섭 신호 존재 유무 등에 기초하여 CCA 임계값을 조정한다. 주채널(CH1)에서 감지된 무선 신호의 레벨이 상기 조정된 CCA 임계값보다도 높을 경우, 단말은 백오프 절차를 중단한다. 그러나 주채널(CH1)에 감지된 무선 신호의 레벨이 상기 조정된 CCA 임계값보다 낮을 경우, 단말은 백오프 절차를 계속 진행한다.
먼저 도 23(a)를 참조하면, 단말은 주채널(CH1)에서의 백오프 절차를 수행하고, 백오프 절차의 백오프 카운터가 만료되기 전 PIFS의 시간 동안 다른 부채널들(CH2~CH4)에 대한 CCA를 수행하여 각 채널의 유휴 여부를 판별한다. 한편, 백오프 절차의 수행 중에 주채널(CH1)에서 무선 신호(간섭 신호)가 감지되면, 단말은 전술한 CCA 임계값 선택 절차(CSP)를 수행한다. 부채널들(CH2~CH4)에 대한 CCA 수행 결과 해당 부채널들(CH2~CH4)이 유휴 상태이므로, 단말은 주채널(CH1)의 CCA 임계값을 증가시키고 백오프 절차를 계속 진행한다. 도 23(a)의 실시예에서 CCA 임계값 선택 절차(CSP)는 부채널들(CH2~CH4)에 대한 PIFS 시간 동안의 CCA 절차와 동시에 또는 그 이전에 종료된다. 따라서, 단말은 백오프 절차의 백오프 카운터가 만료되면 주채널(CH1)과 유휴 상태의 부채널들(CH2~CH4)이 결합된 광대역의 채널로 데이터(80MHz PPDU)를 전송한다.
다음으로 도 23(b)를 참조하면, 백오프 절차의 종료가 가까운 시점에 주채널(CH1)의 간섭 신호가 감지되면, CCA 임계값 선택 절차(CSP)는 부채널들(CH2~CH4)에 대한 PIFS 시간 동안의 CCA 절차가 종료된 후에도 지속될 수 있다. 본 발명의 실시예에 따르면, 부채널들(CH2~CH4)에 대한 지정된 CCA 기간(PIFS)이 종료된 후에도 CCA 임계값 선택 절차가 계속될 경우, 부채널들(CH2~CH4)에 대한 CCA 기간을 연장하여 각 채널의 가용 여부를 계속 감지할 수 있다. 이때, 부채널들(CH2~CH4)에 대한 CCA 기간은 CCA 임계값 선택 절차의 종료 시점까지 연장될 수 있다.
다음으로 도 23(c)를 참조하면, CCA 임계값 선택 절차(CSP)는 부채널들(CH2~CH4)에 대한 CCA 절차가 시작되기 전에 개시될 수도 있다. 즉, 부채널들(CH2~CH4)에 대한 지정된 CCA 절차가 시작되기 전이라도, 주채널(CH1)의 간섭 신호가 감지되면 CSP가 수행될 수 있다. 본 발명의 실시예에 따르면, CSP가 수행되면 부채널들(CH2~CH4)의 CCA 절차가 트리거될 수 있다. 즉, 부채널들(CH2~CH4)의 지정된 CCA 절차(백오프 카운터 만료 전 PIFS 시간 동안의 CCA)가 수행되기 전이라도, 부채널들(CH2~CH4)의 CCA는 CSP와 함께 수행될 수 있다. 만약, CSP가 종료되면, 단말은 백오프 카운터가 만료되기 전이라도 곧바로 데이터 전송을 수행할 수 있다.
한편, 도 23(c)의 실시예에 따르면 동일 BSS 내의 다른 단말들과의 형평성 문제가 발생할 수도 있다. 따라서, 도 23(d)의 실시예에서 단말은 CCA 임계값 선택 절차(CSP)를 해당 단말의 백오프 카운터가 만료될 때까지 연장할 수 있다. 일 실시예에 따르면, 부채널들(CH2~CH4)의 CCA 절차는 CSP에 의해 개시될 수 있지만, 각 부채널의 가용 여부를 계속 감지하기 위해 PIFS의 시간 이상으로 연장되어 CSP와 함께 종료될 수 있다.
한편 도 24(a) 및 도 24(b)의 실시예와 같이 일부 부채널이 점유 상태인 경우, 단말은 유휴 상태의 부채널에 기초하여 CCA 임계값을 조정하고, 조정된 CCA 임계값으로 백오프 절차를 진행한다. 본 발명의 실시예에 따르면, 조정된 CCA 임계값을 결정할 때, 유휴 상태의 부채널 개수가 고려될 수 있다. 즉, 유휴 상태의 부채널 개수가 많을수록, 조정된 CCA 임계값은 높은 레벨로 설정될 수 있다.
도 24(a)를 참조하면, 20MHz 부채널(CH2)은 유휴 상태이지만 40MHz 부채널(CH3, CH4)은 점유 상태에 있다. 따라서, 단말은 유휴 상태인 20MHz 부채널(CH2)을 고려하여 CCA 임계값을 조정하고, 조정된 CCA 임계값으로 백오프 절차를 계속한다. 백오프 카운터가 만료되면, 단말은 주채널(CH1)과 유휴 상태의 부채널(CH2)이 결합된 광대역의 채널로 데이터(40MHz PPDU)를 전송한다.
다음으로 도 24(b)를 참조하면, 20MHz 부채널(CH2)은 점유 상태이지만 40MHz 부채널(CH3, CH4)은 유휴 상태에 있다. 따라서, 단말은 유휴 상태인 40MHz 부채널(CH3, CH4)을 고려하여 CCA 임계값을 조정하고, 조정된 CCA 임계값으로 백오프 절차를 계속한다. 일 실시예에 따르면, 40MHz 부채널이 유휴 할 때의 조정된 CCA 임계값은 20MHz 부채널이 유휴 할 때의 조정된 CCA 임계값보다 높은 레벨로 설정될 수 있다. 백오프 카운터가 만료되면, 단말은 주채널(CH1)과 유휴 상태의 부채널(CH3, CH4)을 함께 이용하여 데이터(20MHz PPDU 및 40MHz PPDU)를 전송한다.
상기와 같이 무선랜 통신을 예로 들어 본 발명을 설명하였지만, 본 발명은 이에 한정하지 않으며 셀룰러 통신 등 다른 통신 시스템에서도 동일하게 적용될 수 있다. 또한 본 발명의 방법, 장치 및 시스템은 특정 실시예와 관련하여 설명되었지만, 본 발명의 구성 요소, 동작의 일부 또는 전부는 범용 하드웨어 아키텍쳐를 갖는 컴퓨터 시스템을 사용하여 구현될 수 있다.
상술한 본 발명의 실시예들은 다양한 수단을 통해 구현될 수 있다. 예를 들어, 본 발명의 실시예들은 하드웨어, 펌웨어(firmware), 소프트웨어 또는 그것들의 결합 등에 의해 구현될 수 있다.
하드웨어에 의한 구현의 경우, 본 발명의 실시예들에 따른 방법은 하나 또는 그 이상의 ASICs(Application Specific Integrated Circuits), DSPs(Digital Signal Processors), DSPDs(Digital Signal Processing Devices), PLDs(Programmable Logic Devices), FPGAs(Field Programmable Gate Arrays), 프로세서, 컨트롤러, 마이크로 컨트롤러, 마이크로 프로세서 등에 의해 구현될 수 있다.
펌웨어나 소프트웨어에 의한 구현의 경우, 본 발명의 실시예들에 따른 방법은 이상에서 설명된 기능 또는 동작들을 수행하는 모듈, 절차 또는 함수 등의 형태로 구현될 수 있다. 소프트웨어 코드는 메모리에 저장되어 프로세서에 의해 구동될 수 있다. 상기 메모리는 프로세서의 내부 또는 외부에 위치할 수 있으며, 이미 공지된 다양한 수단에 의해 프로세서와 데이터를 주고 받을 수 있다.
전술한 본 발명의 설명은 예시를 위한 것이며, 본 발명이 속하는 기술분야의 통상의 지식을 가진 자는 본 발명의 기술적 사상이나 필수적인 특징을 변경하지 않고서 다른 구체적인 형태로 쉽게 변형이 가능하다는 것을 이해할 수 있을 것이다. 그러므로 이상에서 기술한 실시예들은 모든 면에서 예시적인 것이며 한정적인 것이 아는 것으로 해석해야 한다. 예를 들어, 단일형으로 설명되어 있는 각 구성 요소는 분산되어 실시될 수도 있으며, 마찬가지로 분산된 것으로 설명되어 있는 구성 요소들도 결합된 형태로 실시될 수 있다.
본 발명의 범위는 상기 상세한 설명보다는 후술하는 특허청구범위에 의하여 나타내어지며, 특허청구범위의 의미 및 범위 그리고 그 균등 개념으로부터 도출되는 모든 변경 또는 변형된 형태가 본 발명의 범위에 포함되는 것으로 해석되어야 한다.
전술한 바와 같이, 발명의 실시를 위한 최선의 형태에서 관련 사항을 서술하였다.
본 발명의 다양한 실시예들은 IEEE 802.11 시스템을 중심으로 설명되었으나, 그 밖의 다양한 형태의 이동통신 장치, 이동통신 시스템 등에 적용될 수 있다.

Claims (14)

  1. 단말의 무선 통신 방법으로서,
    주채널에 대한 백오프 절차를 수행하는 단계;
    상기 백오프 절차의 수행 중에 적어도 하나의 부채널에 대한 클리어 채널 할당(CCA)을 수행하는 단계;
    상기 CCA의 수행 결과, 상기 적어도 하나의 부채널의 유휴 여부에 기초하여 상기 주채널의 CCA 임계값을 조정하는 단계; 및
    상기 조정된 CCA 임계값을 이용하여 상기 주채널에 대한 백오프 절차를 계속하는 단계;
    를 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 무선 통신 방법.
  2. 제1 항에 있어서,
    상기 CCA 임계값을 조정하는 단계는,
    상기 적어도 하나의 부채널이 유휴 상태일 경우, 상기 주채널의 CCA 임계값을 증가시키는 것을 특징으로 하는 무선 통신 방법.
  3. 제2 항에 있어서,
    상기 조정된 CCA 임계값은 상기 주채널과 결합 가능한 유휴 상태의 부채널 개수가 많을수록 높은 레벨로 설정되는 것을 특징으로 하는 무선 통신 방법.
  4. 제1 항에 있어서,
    상기 CCA 임계값을 조정하는 단계는,
    상기 백오프 절차의 수행 중에, 상기 백오프 절차를 위한 기 설정된 CCA 임계값 보다 높은 레벨의 무선 신호가 상기 주채널에서 감지되었을 때 수행되는 것을 특징으로 하는 무선 통신 방법.
  5. 제1 항에 있어서,
    상기 조정된 CCA 임계값을 이용하여 계속된 상기 주채널에 대한 백오프 절차의 백오프 카운터가 만료되면, 상기 주채널과 유휴 상태의 상기 적어도 하나의 부채널이 결합된 광대역의 채널로 데이터를 전송하는 단계를 더 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 무선 통신 방법.
  6. 제1 항에 있어서,
    상기 백오프 절차의 수행 중에 상기 주채널의 무선 신호를 수신하는 단계; 및
    상기 무선 신호의 BSS 식별자 정보를 획득하는 단계를 더 포함하며,
    상기 CCA 임계값은 상기 적어도 하나의 부채널의 유휴 여부와 상기 무선 신호의 BSS 식별자 정보에 기초하여 조정되는 것을 특징으로 하는 무선 통신 방법.
  7. 제6 항에 있어서,
    상기 무선 신호의 BSS 식별자 정보가 상기 단말의 BSS 식별자 정보와 상이할 경우의 상기 조정된 CCA 임계값은, 상기 무선 신호의 BSS 식별자 정보가 상기 단말의 BSS 식별자 정보와 동일할 경우의 상기 조정된 CCA 임계값 보다 높은 레벨로 설정되는 것을 특징으로 하는 무선 통신 방법.
  8. 무선 통신 단말로서,
    무선 신호를 송수신하는 송수신부; 및
    상기 단말의 동작을 제어하는 프로세서를 포함하되,
    상기 프로세서는,
    주채널에 대한 백오프 절차를 수행하고, 상기 백오프 절차의 수행 중에 적어도 하나의 부채널에 대한 클리어 채널 할당(CCA)을 수행하고, 상기 CCA의 수행 결과, 상기 적어도 하나의 부채널의 유휴 여부에 기초하여 상기 주채널의 CCA 임계값을 조정하고, 상기 조정된 CCA 임계값을 이용하여 상기 주채널에 대한 백오프 절차를 계속하는 것을 특징으로 하는 무선 통신 단말.
  9. 제8 항에 있어서,
    상기 프로세서는,
    상기 적어도 하나의 부채널이 유휴 상태일 경우, 상기 주채널의 CCA 임계값을 증가시키는 것을 특징으로 하는 무선 통신 단말.
  10. 제9 항에 있어서,
    상기 조정된 CCA 임계값은 상기 주채널과 결합 가능한 유휴 상태의 부채널 개수가 많을수록 높은 레벨로 설정되는 것을 특징으로 하는 무선 통신 단말.
  11. 제8 항에 있어서,
    상기 프로세서는,
    상기 백오프 절차의 수행 중에, 상기 백오프 절차를 위한 기 설정된 CCA 임계값 보다 높은 레벨의 무선 신호가 상기 주채널에서 감지되었을 때 상기 CCA 임계값을 조정하는 것을 특징으로 하는 무선 통신 단말.
  12. 제8 항에 있어서,
    상기 프로세서는,
    상기 조정된 CCA 임계값을 이용하여 계속된 상기 주채널에 대한 백오프 절차의 백오프 카운터가 만료되면, 상기 주채널과 유휴 상태의 상기 적어도 하나의 부채널이 결합된 광대역의 채널로 데이터를 전송하는 것을 특징으로 하는 무선 통신 단말.
  13. 제8 항에 있어서,
    상기 프로세서는,
    상기 백오프 절차의 수행 중에 상기 주채널의 무선 신호가 수신된 경우, 상기 무선 신호의 BSS 식별자 정보를 획득하고, 상기 적어도 하나의 부채널의 유휴 여부와 상기 무선 신호의 BSS 식별자 정보에 기초하여 상기 CCA 임계값을 조정하는 것을 특징으로 하는 무선 통신 단말.
  14. 제13 항에 있어서,
    상기 무선 신호의 BSS 식별자 정보가 상기 단말의 BSS 식별자 정보와 상이할 경우의 상기 조정된 CCA 임계값은, 상기 무선 신호의 BSS 식별자 정보가 상기 단말의 BSS 식별자 정보와 동일할 경우의 상기 조정된 CCA 임계값 보다 높은 레벨로 설정되는 것을 특징으로 하는 무선 통신 단말.
