Description
Cosmetic product applicator and associated production method
This invention relates to a cosmetic product applicator.
Such an applicator is intended for applying a cosmetic product on keratin fibers of a user, in particular the eyelashes or the eyebrows.
"Cosmetic product" means advantageously, in the sense of this invention, a product such as defined in EC Regulation no. 1223/2009 of the European Parliament and of the Council of November 30, 2009 relating to cosmetic products.
The cosmetic product is for example a care product or a makeup product, particularly a mascara.
To apply mascara to the eyelashes or the eyebrows, mascara brushes are generally used. These brushes comprise a core formed by two twisted metal strands defining turns, between which the bristles of the brush are taken.
These brushes are inexpensive and make it possible to effectively apply the cosmetic product on the keratin fibers.
However, in certain cases, although the conventional mascara brush is effective, it has limited functions, in particular in terms of application and outside appearance.
In order to vary the performance of a conventional mascara brush, WO 2006/121519 describes a mascara brush comprising a perforated rod delimiting a plurality of through openings.
The brush is mounted inside the perforated rod. The bristles of the brush project transversally through the through openings outside of the perforated rod. Such a brush modifies the performance characteristics of the applicator.
However, this brush is tedious and expensive to manufacture. Moreover, during the insertion of the brush into the rod, certain bristles of the brush remain wedged inside the latter, since they are pressed against the inner surface of the rod. The final efficacy of the brush can therefore be reduced in certain cases.
FR 2 916 328 describes a brush that has improved functions, comprising both bristles and points made of elastomer.
One aim of the invention is that of obtaining a cosmetic product applicator that has improved functions and an improved outside appearance, while being simple to manufacture.
To this end, the invention relates to an applicator comprising:
- a rod;
- a brush mounted at the end of the rod, the brush comprising a core and bristles protruding from the core;
the applicator further comprising:
- a tubular sleeve mounted on the rod outside the brush, the tubular sleeve delimiting a plurality of passage openings for bristles opening into an outer surface of the tubular sleeve, the bristles of the brush protruding through the passage openings,
the total area of the passage openings being less than 50%, in particular less than 40% of the total area of the outer surface of the tubular sleeve.

Hereinafter, the term "proximal" is generally understood to mean closer to the hand of the user gripping the applicator. Hereinafter, the term "distal" is generally understood to mean further from the hand of the user gripping the applicator.
A first cosmetic product packaging and application device 10 is illustrated in figure
1 .
The cosmetic product is for example a care product or a makeup product, particularly a mascara. The product is intended to be applied on the keratin fibers of a user, such as the eyelashes and the eyebrows.
The device 10 comprises a container 12, an applicator 14 according to the invention, and a gripping member 16, mounted at an end of the applicator 14 to close the container 12.
The container 12 defines an inner volume 18 for containing the cosmetic product. The inner volume 18 opens outwards at a neck 20 of the container 12.
The container 12 comprises a wiping member 22, mounted in the neck 20. The wiping member 22 consists for example of a part made of elastomer. It can be conventional or not, and even be adjustable. It defines a wiping orifice with a section corresponding substantially to that of the applicator 14 at its rod.
The gripping member 16 is arranged to create a sealed closure of the container 12 at the neck 20, for example by screwing. It is removably mounted onto the container 12.
In reference to figures 1 to 3, the applicator 14 comprises a rod 30, and a brush 32 fixed to a distal end of the rod 30. According to the invention, the applicator 14 further comprises a perforated tubular sleeve 34, mounted on the rod 30 in order to cover the brush 32.
In this example, the rod 30 has a circular cross-section. In an alternative embodiment, as illustrated in figure 16, the rod 30 has other cross-sections, such as a polygonal cross-section, for example triangular, rectangular, square, lozenge, or an elongate cross-section, for example oval, elliptic.
The rod 30 extends advantageously linearly, along an axis A-A' of insertion in the container 12, between a proximal end fixed on the gripping member 16 and a free distal end, receiving the brush 32.
As illustrated in figure 3, it thus comprises a proximal region 38 and a distal region 40, with the distal region 40 having a cross-section with area less than the cross-section of the proximal region 38.
In the example represented in figure 3, the distal region 40 has a cross-section with area decreasing towards the axis A-A' in the direction of the distal free end of the rod 30.
The rod 30 defines internally an axial housing 42 for attaching the brush 32. The axial housing 42 opens distally at the distal free end of the rod 30.
The length of the distal region 40, taken along the axis A-A', is less than the length of the brush 32 projecting outside the rod 30, taken along the same axis.
The brush 32, illustrated in figure 3 before it is inserted into the sleeve 34, comprises a core 50 and a plurality of bristles 52 projecting radially from the core 50.
The core 50 is partially inserted into the axial housing 42. It is for example formed by two twisted strands, advantageously made of metal.
The bristles 52 are maintained by clamping between the turns of the core 50. They extend radially from the core 50 over a maximum radial span ER, taken perpendicularly to the axis A-A'.
Before the insertion of the sleeve 34, the bristles 52 of the brush 32 are distributed in such a way as to form a circumferential surface of substantially cylindrical or frustoconical shape of revolution about the axis A-A'.
The bristles 52 advantageously have a maximum transverse dimension, taken in cross-section with respect to their axis, less than 0.5 mm, and in particular between 0.01 mm and 0.4 mm.
The length of each bristle 52, taken between the core 50 and a free end is for example less than 8 mm and is in particular between 1 .5 mm and 6 mm, advantageously between 2 mm et 4 mm.
According to the invention, the sleeve 34 is mounted at the distal end of the rod 30 in order to cover the brush 32.
It delimits an inner hole 60 for the insertion of the brush 32, and a plurality of passage through openings 62 for passing bristles, connecting the inner hole 60 to the outside of the sleeve 34.
In the example represented in figure 2 and in figure 3, the sleeve 34 comprises a proximal peripheral wall 64 and a distal head 66 distally closing off the inner hole 60.
The length of the sleeve 34, taken along the axis A-A', is greater than the length of the brush 32 projecting outside the rod 30 along the axis A-A'.
The proximal peripheral wall 64 forms a volume of revolution about the axis A-A'. It delimits a central segment 68 of the hole 60. The passage openings 62 are formed through the wall 64.
In this example, the maximum thickness of the wall 64, taken radially with respect to the axis A-A', is less than the maximum width of the central segment 68, taken perpendicularly with respect to the axis A-A'.
The head 66 delimits an end segment 70 of the hole 60, with a cross-section less than that of the central segment 68. It has a rounded shape that converges towards the distal end of the sleeve 34.
The inner hole 60 opens axially proximally through an axial opening 72 for inserting the brush. The inner hole 60 is axially closed off distally by the head 66.
In this example, the head 66 and the wall 64 are made in a single piece from the same material.
The sleeve 34 is preferably made of a flexible material so as to be deformable to the touch. This material is for example a thermoplastic elastomer which makes it possible to have a gripping effect and having more rebound on the keratin fibers. This increases the elongating effect on the fibers, in particular on the eyelashes.
In an alternative embodiment, the sleeve 34 is made of a rigid material. It is for example injected from a thermoplastic material, or made from metal. This makes it possible to increase the smoothing power.
The sleeve 34 has an outer surface 74 which, in this example is smooth. The surface does not have protrusions with a size exceeding the maximum radial span of the openings 62.
In an alternative embodiment, the outer surface 74 is micro-textured or ribbed, advantageously by organized grooves having a comb effect. The microstructures also form cosmetic product reserves that make it possible to accentuate the loading with cosmetic product.
In another alternative embodiment, not shown, the surface 74 is covered with protrusions, such as points, teeth, nipples allowing for an attaching of the keratin fibers, and better retention of the cosmetic product.
In an alternative embodiment, the surface 74 is alveolate in order to ensure an increased retention of the cosmetic product.
According to the invention, the total area of the passage openings is less than 50%, in particular less than 40%, in particular less than 30% of the total area of the outer surface 74 of the sleeve.
The total area of the outer surface 74 of the sleeve 34 is to be understood as the sum of the area of the solid regions of the sleeve 34 located around the openings 62 and of the area of the openings 62 on the surface 74.
The maximum area of each opening 62 is less than 10%, in particular less than 5% of the total area of the outer surface 74 of the sleeve 34.
As such, significant solid regions extend around the passage openings 62 on the outer surface 74. These solid regions constitute a support for forming the keratin fibers to be smoothed, or on the contrary to be curled. The outer surface 74 makes it possible, in certain cases, to carry out a brushing of the keratin fibers, creating an elongating and ultra smoothing effect.
Advantageously, the maximum length of each opening 62, taken along the axis A- A', is less than 50%, preferably less than 30% of the length of the sleeve 34, taken along the axis A-A'.
Preferably, in the embodiment shown in figure 2, the maximum angular span of each opening 62, taken perpendicularly to the axis A-A' about the axis A-A', is less than 180°, preferably less than 90°, advantageously less than 45°.
Each opening 62 radially passes through the wall 64 of the sleeve 34.
At least one opening 62 has for example a geometric shape, such as a circle, square, spiral, lozenge, cross, triangle, stick, ellipse, star, rectangle, hexagon, or any other polygonal shape.
Alternatively or in addition, at least one opening 62 has a fancy shape, for example the shape of a heart, the shape of a star, the shape of skull and cross bones, the shape of a flower, the shape of a panther print, the shape of an animal head, in particular a cat, the shape of a spot, the shape of a lightning bolt.
In an example, all of the openings 62 of the sleeve 34 have the same shape. In an alternative embodiment, the shapes of at least two openings 62 of the sleeve 34 are different.
In the example represented in figure 2, the openings 62 are distributed in a homogeneous manner over the outer surface 74. In an alternative embodiment, the distribution is not homogeneous, and depends for example on the surface of the sleeve 34, or on the particular region of the sleeve 34.
The outer surface 74 possibly has openings 62 with shapes producing a shading effect.
When the sleeve 34 is assembled on the rod 30, its proximal edge is inserted around the distal region 40 of the rod 30.
The sleeve 34 substantially entirely covers the brush 32. The core 50 is inserted into the central hole 60. At least a portion of the bristles 52 of the brush 32 protrude outside the sleeve 34 through the openings 62, by extending radially away from the surface 74.
The sleeve 34 has a proximal portion 80 located longitudinally facing the distal region 40 of the rod 30, once assembled on the rod 30.
According to the invention, and as will be seen below, the proximal portion 80 of the sleeve 34 is able to slide in two opposite directions D1 , D2 along the axis A-A' with respect to the distal region 40 of the rod 30 on a travel at least equal to the transverse span of a bristle 52, before attachment of the sleeve 34 on the rod 30.
The sleeve 34 has a radial span, taken in cross-section from its central axis, less than the length of the bristles 52, taken from the core 50.
This radial span is for example less than 4 mm and is advantageously between 1 mm and 3 mm.
A method for producing an applicator 14 according to the invention will now be described.
Initially, as represented in figure 3, a brush 32 is assembled at the end of the rod 30. In the example represented in figure 3, the core 50 is partially inserted into the axial
housing 42 at the distal end of the rod 30. The brush 32 partially protrudes axially along the axis A-A' with respect to the rod 30.
Then, in reference to figure 4, the sleeve 34 is engaged around the brush 32, by displacing the sleeve 34 according to a first direction D1 along the axis A-A' towards the proximal end of the rod 30.
As illustrated in figure 4, the brush 32 is inserted into the central hole 60 through the axial opening 72.
The displacement of the sleeve 34 continues, until its proximal portion 80 is placed in contact with the distal region 40 of the rod 30.
At least a portion of the bristles 52 then exit the hole 60 through the openings 62 in order to protrude radially beyond the outer surface 74.
In certain cases, another portion of the bristles 52 remains wedged between an inner surface of the sleeve 34 and the core 50. To this end, according to the invention, the sleeve 34 is displaced according to a second direction D2 along the axis A-A', opposite the direction D1 , away from the proximal end of the rod 30, as illustrated in figure 5.
This makes it possible to extract the bristles 52 wedged through the openings 62, in order to guarantee that a tuft of bristles 52 of satisfactory density protrudes through each opening 62.
Advantageously, the sleeve 34 is again displaced in the direction D1 . The proximal portion 80 is engaged again around the distal region 40. Simultaneously, the distal end of the core 50 enters into the end segment 70 and is fixed therein via wedging.
The proximal portion 80 is then advantageously radially crimped around the distal region 40.
The sleeve 34 is then solidly fixed on the rod 30. The bristles 52 then protrude as separate tufts through each opening 62.
In order to use the device 10, the user grasps the gripping member 16, and extracts the rod 30, then the brush 32 covered by the sleeve 34 out of the container 12, advantageously through the wiping member 22.
Cosmetic product is then retained on the tufts of bristles 52, and advantageously on the outer surface 74 of the sleeve 34. Then, the user displaces the sleeve 34 and the tufts of bristles 52 towards the keratin fibers whereon the product is to be applied.
The user then deposits the cosmetic product by carrying out a smoothing and/or a curling.
The presence of tufts of bristles 52 protruding through the openings 62, with a predefined conformation, associated with the presence of an outer surface 74 of support on the sleeve 34, guarantees an effective contact with the keratin fibers. This makes it
possible to conform them as desired, and to effectively deposit therein the cosmetic product.
The distal region 40 of the rod 30 of a second applicator 14 according to the invention is illustrated in figure 7.
Unlike the one represented in figure 3, the distal region 40 comprises a first converging segment 90 and a second segment 92 with a constant cross-section. The proximal portion 80 of the sleeve 34 is preferably crimped on the second segment 92.
The distal region 40 of the rod 30 of a third applicator 14 according to the invention is illustrated in figure 8. Unlike the one illustrated in figure 3, the distal region 40 has a constant cross-section that is substantially equal to that of the proximal region 38.
The proximal portion 80 of the sleeve 34 remains crimped on the distal region 40.
The sleeve 34 of a fourth applicator 14 according to the invention is illustrated in figure 9. Unlike the one illustrated in figure 3, the sleeve 34 does not have a head 66. The central hole 60 opens axially by a distal axial opening 94.
The axial opening 94 enables the relative displacement of the sleeve 34 with respect to the rod 30 along the axis A-A' according to the opposite directions D1 and D2, between a first position, away from the proximal end of the rod 30, wherein the distal end of the core 50 is entirely received in the hole 60, and a second position, close to the proximal end of the rod 30, wherein the distal end of the core 50 protrudes axially outside of the hole 60 through the opening 94.
The applicator 14 further comprises a cover 96, force-fitted onto the sleeve 34 in the opening 94, in order to cover the distal end of the core 50.
The cover 96 has a proximal segment 97 inserted into the hole 60. The proximal segment 97 defines a housing 98 receiving the distal end of the core 50.
The sleeve 34 of a sixth applicator 14 according to the invention is shown in figure
10.
Unlike the one illustrated in figure 3, the sleeve 14 has passage openings 62 which are elongated along the axis A-A'. In this example, the length of the passage openings 62, taken along the axis A-A', is greater than their width.
In this example, the openings 62 extend parallel to the axis A-A'. In an alternative embodiment, they are inclined, for example by an angle less than 45°, with respect to the axis A-A'.
The sleeve 34 of a seventh applicator 14 according to the invention is shown in figure 1 1 .
Unlike the one illustrated in figure 3, the sleeve 34 comprises a first surface 100 that has openings 62 in the form of transverse slots, and an opposite surface 101 that has
openings 62 with shapes different from those of the openings 62 of the first surface 100, for example circular shapes.
The presence of the first surface 100 and of the opposite surface 101 makes it possible to successively use each one of the surfaces 100, 101 in contact with the keratin fibers, in order to obtain a shaping effect and product application that is different according to the surface 100, 101 .
The sleeve 34 of an eighth applicator 14 according to the invention is illustrated in figure 12.
Unlike the one represented in figure 3, the openings 62 are formed by shapes elongated transversally with respect to the axis A-A' of extension of the sleeve 34.
In the example represented in figure 3, the outer cross-section of the sleeve 34 decreases progressively along the axis A-A', until the rounded distal end of the sleeve 34.
Unlike this sleeve 34, the sleeve 34 of a ninth applicator 14 according to the invention, represented in figure 13, comprises a proximal portion 102 with a substantially constant cross-section and a distal portion 104 with a cross-section decreasing towards the rounded distal end of the sleeve 34.
The sleeves 34 of the applicators 14 illustrated in figures 14 and 15 differ from the one represented in figure 13 in that the proximal portion 102 has a cross-section increasing towards the distal end of the sleeve 34.
The sleeve 34 represented in figure 14 has an angular transition 106 between the portions 102, 104 and a general lozenge shape.
The sleeve 34 represented in figure 15 comprises a gentle transition 106 and a general goatskin shape.
A variant applicator 14 according to the invention is shown in figure 17.
Unlike the applicator illustrated in figure 3, the rod 30 has a proximal region 38 and a distal region 40 which delimit between them a transverse shoulder 200.
The distal region 40 thus has a cross-section with an area less than that of the cross-section of the proximal region 38.
The distal region 40 externally comprises an axial retention protrusion 202 of the sleeve 34. In this example, the protrusion 202 is formed by an annular bead that radially protrudes from the distal region 40.
Advantageously, the proximal portion 80 of the sleeve 34 defines an inner housing 204 for receiving the protrusion 202. The housing 204 is preferably of a shape complementary to that of the protrusion 202.
The assembling of the applicator 14 described in figure 17 differs from the assembling of the applicator 14 described in figure 2 in that the brush 32 is introduced into the sleeve 34 before attaching the brush 32 on the rod 30.
Thus, the brush 32 carries out a first relative displacement with respect to the sleeve 34 towards the bottom of the sleeve 34 then a second displacement in the opposite direction in order to extract the bristles 52 outside of the openings 62. A third displacement towards the bottom of the sleeve 34 is then advantageously carried out.
A unit in a single piece comprising the sleeve 34 and the brush 32 mounted in the sleeve 34 is thus obtained.
Then the assembly comprises a final step of inserting the core into the axial housing 42 and of inserting the protrusion 202 into the housing 204.
The sleeve 34 is then wedged against the shoulder 200, in contact with the latter. The external peripheral surfaces of the rod 30 and of the sleeve 34 are flush.
A radial die stamping is then advantageously carried out in order to maintain the sleeve 34 and the brush 32 fixed on the rod 30.
Another variant applicator 14 according to the invention is illustrated in figure 18.
Unlike the applicator 14 illustrated in figure 3, the tubular sleeve 34 is mounted on the rod 30 by an intermediate member 220 inserted into the axial housing 42 located at the end of the rod 30.
The intermediate member 220 is for example formed by a bar. It has a distal portion 222 which protrudes axially outside of the housing 42 beyond the end of the rod 30.
The distal portion 222 delimits an additional axial housing 224 for attaching the brush 32. The core 50 of the brush 32 is inserted into the inner axial housing 224.
The intermediate member 220 is maintained by radial clamping in the axial housing 42. The core 50 of the brush 32 is blocked in the additional axial housing 224 by radial clamping of the proximal portion 80 of the sleeve, through an edge protruding radially towards the central axis of the sleeve 34.
The method for assembling the applicator 14 represented in figure 18 differs from that represented in figure 3 in that the brush 32 is first of all mounted on the intermediate member 220.
The brush 32 is then inserted into the sleeve 34, in order to extract its bristles 52 radially through the passage openings 62. Advantageously, the tubular sleeve 34 is displaced relatively on the brush 32 in a first direction, then in a second direction opposite the first direction, and possibly again in the first direction.
Then, the sleeve 34 is fixed by clamping on the intermediate member 222.
A rod 30 is then provided. A proximal portion 226 of the intermediate member 220 is introduced into the axial housing 42 at the end of the rod 30, advantageously until the proximal portion 80 of the sleeve abuts against the distal end of the rod 30.
The intermediate member 220 is then firmly fixed in the rod 30 by radial clamping. Likewise the sleeve 34 is firmly fixed on the intermediate member by radial clamping.
The mounting of the sleeve 34 around the brush 32 is therefore simplified, since the relative displacement of the brush 32 with respect to the sleeve 34 in order to extract the bristles 52 through the passage openings 62 is carried out without moving the rod 30, advantageously prior to the supplying of a rod 30, for example separately in two different production units. The unit formed by the sleeve 34 mounted around the brush 32 is then assembled onto the rod 30 by means of the intermediate member 220.
Claims
1 . - Cosmetic product applicator (14) comprising:
- a rod (30);
- a brush (32) mounted at the end of the rod (30), the brush (32) comprising a core (50) and bristles (52) protruding from the core (50);
the applicator (14) further comprising:
- a tubular sleeve (34) mounted on the rod (30) outside the brush (32), the tubular sleeve (34) delimiting a plurality of passage openings (62) for bristles (52) opening into an outer surface (74) of the tubular sleeve (34), the bristles (52) of the brush (32) protruding through the passage openings (62),
the total area of the passage openings (62) being less than 50%, in particular less than 40% of the total area of the outer surface (74) of the tubular sleeve (34).
2. - Applicator (14) according to claim 1 , wherein the maximum length of each passage opening (62), taken longitudinally with respect to the brush (32), is less than half, in particularly less than one-third, possibly less than one-tenth of the length of the tubular sleeve (34), taken with respect to a central axis (Α-Α') of the tubular sleeve (34).
3. - Applicator (14) according to any one of claims 1 or 2, wherein the angular span of each passage opening (62), taken with respect to a central axis (Α-Α') of the tubular sleeve (34), is less than 30°, in particular less than 10°.
4. - Applicator (14) according to any one of the previous claims, wherein the tubular sleeve (34) delimits a longitudinal central hole (60) receiving the core (50) of the brush (32), each passage (62) opening opening inwards into the central hole (60).
5. - Applicator (14) according to claim 4, wherein the tubular sleeve (34) comprises a free distal end, the central hole (60) being closed longitudinally at the free distal end of the tubular sleeve (34).
6. - Applicator (14) according to claim 5, wherein the central hole comprises a central segment (68) receiving the core (50), and an empty end segment (72), located opposite the rod (30), able to accommodate the core (50) during a displacement of the tubular sleeve (34) toward the rod (30)
7. - Applicator (14) according to claim 4, wherein the central hole (60) opens at the free end of the tubular sleeve (34), the applicator (14) comprising a cover (96) mounted on the tubular sleeve (34) to close off the central hole (60) at the free distal end of the tubular sleeve (34).
8. - Applicator (14) according to any one of the previous claims, wherein the tubular sleeve (34) has a proximal portion (80) located longitudinally facing a distal region
(40) of the rod (30), the proximal portion (80) of the tubular sleeve (34) being able to slide in two opposite directions with respect to the distal region (40) of the rod (30) over a travel at least equal to the maximum radial span of a bristle (52), before attaching the tubular sleeve (34) on the rod (30).
9. - Applicator (14) according to claim 8, wherein the rod (30) has a proximal region (38), the cross-section of the proximal region (38) being greater than the minimum cross-section of the distal region (40).
10. - Method for producing a cosmetic product applicator (14), comprising the following steps:
- supplying of a brush (32), the brush (32) comprising a core (50) and bristles (52) protruding from the core (50),
- supplying of a rod (30);
- mounting of the brush (32) at the end of the rod (30),
- mounting of a tubular sleeve (34) outside the brush (32), the tubular sleeve (34) delimiting a plurality of passage openings (62) for bristles (52), the bristles (52) of the brush (32) protruding through the passage openings (62),
the total area of the passage openings (62) being less than 50%, in particular less than 40% of the total area of the outer surface (74) of the tubular sleeve (34).
1 1 . - Method according to claim 10, wherein the mounting of the tubular sleeve (34) outside the brush (32) is implemented after the mounting of the brush (32) at the end of the rod (30).
12. - Method according to claim 10 or 1 1 , wherein the step of mounting the tubular sleeve (34) comprises a first displacement of the tubular sleeve (34) with respect to the brush (32) in a first direction (D1 ), and a second displacement of the tubular sleeve (34) with respect to the brush (32) in a second direction (D2) opposite the first direction (D1 ), the bristles (52) of the brush (32) then protruding through the passage openings (62).
13. - Method according to claim 12, wherein the first displacement comprises the pressing of at least one bristle (52) against the core (50) away from a passage opening (62), the second displacement comprising the placing of said bristle (52) facing a passage opening (62) so that the bristle (52) protrudes radially through the passage opening (62).
14. - Method according to claim 13, wherein the travel of the tubular sleeve (34) during the second displacement is greater than the maximum transverse span of each bristle (52), before the insertion of the tubular sleeve (34) on the rod (30).
15. - Method according to any of claims 12 to 14, wherein the step of mounting the tubular sleeve (34) comprises a third displacement of the tubular sleeve (34) in the first direction (D1 ) after the second displacement.
16. - Method according to any of claims 12 to 15, wherein the tubular sleeve (34) delimits a longitudinal central hole (60) receiving the core (50), with each passage opening (62) opening inwards into the central hole (60), the core (50) being received in an end segment of the central hole or protruding outside the tubular sleeve (34) at the end of the first displacement, the end segment being empty or the core (50) being entirely received in the tubular sleeve (34) at the end of the second displacement.
17. - Method according to any of claims 12 to 16, wherein the mounting of the brush (32) at the end of the rod (30) is implemented after the mounting of the tubular sleeve (34) outside the brush (32), the method further comprising the attaching of the tubular sleeve (34) on the rod (30) by means of at least one intermediate member (202; 222).
18. - Method according to claim 17, wherein the intermediate member (202) is formed by an axial retention projection (202) of the sleeve (34) on the rod (30) connected with one of the sleeve (34) and of the rod (30), the other of the sleeve (34) and of the rod (30) defining a housing for receiving (204) the projection (202), the attachment of the sleeve (34) on the rod (30) comprising the insertion of the axial retention projection (202) into the housing (204).
19. - Method according to one of claims 17 and 18, wherein the intermediate member (222) comprises a connection bar between the rod (30) and the sleeve (34),the step of mounting the brush (32) comprising inserting the intermediate member (222) into the rod (30), the step of attaching comprising attaching the sleeve (34) around the intermediate member (222).
20. - Method according to any of claims 17 to 19, wherein the intermediate member delimits an additional axial housing (224) for attaching the brush (32), said additional axial housing (224) receiving the core (50) of the brush (32).
21 . - Method according to any of claims 17 to 20, wherein the rod (30) has a proximal region (38), the cross-section of the proximal region (38) being greater than the minimum cross-section of the distal region (40), the intermediate member protruding radially from the distal region (40).
