Abstract

A method of acquiring data is disclosed. The method comprises: receiving (302) selection data identifying first map location data; receiving (308) selection data identifying second map location data; receiving (304, 310) area data associated with the first and second map location data; receiving (402, 404, 406) path data associated with a first path between the first map location and the second map location, wherein the path data comprises information concerning locations associated with the path, and further wherein the area data and the path data are received via a data connection; and storing (306, 312, 406) the area data and the path data for accessing the stored data in the absence of the data connection.
