The utility model relates to a system for connecting construction panels, and particularly, those of thin, hard "floating" or un-affixed floors. The technical result of the proposed invention consists in increasing ease of manufacture and assembly, and in creating a tighter connection between panels. The technical result is achieved in that an insert (a rigid rectangular panel/ molded-profile strip) containing at least two tongue-and-groove-type means of mechanical connection located on (at least two) opposing ends (of the rigid rectangular panels), a groove being in the form of a locking recess (between an upper lip and a lower lip), the surface of the upper lip of which (facing a tongue) is made (having substantially zero curvature) containing a portion (facing the tongue) which is parallel to the plane of the surface (of the rigid rectangular panel) of the insert, the surface of the lower lip of the locking recess is (shaped in such a way as to be) in the form of a curved surface, the end of the lower lip is provided with a projection inclined between 30 and 70 degrees to the horizontal, and the tongue is in the form of a (springy) locking tab, the surface of which is adjacent to (in contact with) the surfaces of the upper lip and lower lip of the locking recess, characterized in that a surface between an upper portion of the tongue and the upper surface of the insert is made (substantially) flat and angled in such a way that a dihedral angle of between 80 and 89.9 degrees is formed between the upper surface of the insert and said surface. The technical result of the proposed invention is to increase production and assembly manufacturability, increasing the tightness joint between the panels.
