Description

タイヤ及びタイヤの製造方法
 本発明は、タイヤ骨格部分が樹脂材料で形成されたタイヤ及びタイヤの製造方法に関する。
 近年では、軽量化やリサイクルのし易さから、タイヤ骨格部分を樹脂材料(例えば、熱可塑性樹脂)で形成したタイヤが開発されている(例えば、特開2011-42235号公報)。
 特開2011-42235号公報に開示のタイヤでは、樹脂材料で形成した環状のタイヤ骨格部材のクラウン部外周に補強層を配設してタイヤ骨格部材を補強している。この補強層は、樹脂被覆した補強コードをクラウン部外周にタイヤ周方向に螺旋状に巻き付けると共に接合して形成されている。
 上記事実を考慮して、本発明は、樹脂材料で形成されたタイヤ骨格部材の剛性を向上させることを目的としている。
 本発明の第1の態様のタイヤは、骨格用樹脂材料を用いて形成された環状のタイヤ骨格部材と、前記タイヤ骨格部材の外周に配設され、補強コードを樹脂被覆層で被覆して構成され、タイヤ周方向に螺旋状に巻かれると共に前記タイヤ骨格部材に接合され、且つ、タイヤ軸方向に隣接する部分同士が接合された補強コード部材と、を有している。
 本発明の第2の態様のタイヤの製造方法は、骨格用樹脂材料を用いて環状のタイヤ骨格部材を形成するタイヤ骨格部材形成工程と、補強コードを樹脂被覆層で被覆して構成された補強コード部材を前記タイヤ骨格部材の外周にタイヤ周方向に螺旋状に巻き付けながら前記タイヤ骨格部材に接合すると共に、前記補強コード部材のタイヤ軸方向に隣接する部分同士を接合する補強コード部材巻付工程と、を有している。
 以上説明したように、本発明のタイヤ及びタイヤの製造方法によれば、樹脂材料で形成されたタイヤ骨格部材の剛性を向上させることができる。

(第1実施形態)
 以下、本発明に係る第1実施形態のタイヤについて説明する。
 図1に示すように、第1実施形態のタイヤ10は、従来一般のゴム製の空気入りタイヤ(以下、適宜ゴムタイヤと記載する。)と略同様の断面形状を呈し、また、ゴムタイヤと同様にリム(不図示)に装着されるものである。なお、図中では、タイヤ周方向を矢印Sで示し、タイヤ軸方向(タイヤ幅方向と読み替えてもよい)を矢印Wで示し、タイヤ径方向を矢印Rで示している。
 また、以下では、タイヤ軸方向に沿ってタイヤ赤道面CLから遠い側を「タイヤ軸方向外側」、タイヤ軸方向に沿ってタイヤ赤道面CLに近い側を「タイヤ軸方向内側」として説明する。
 またさらに、タイヤ径方向に沿ってタイヤ軸線から遠い側を「タイヤ径方向外側」、タイヤ径方向に沿ってタイヤ軸線に近い側を「タイヤ径方向内側」として説明する。
 タイヤ10は、タイヤ骨格部分を形成するタイヤ骨格部材の一例としてのタイヤケース17を有している。このタイヤケース17は、タイヤ骨格用の樹脂材料(以下、「骨格用樹脂材料」と記載する。)を円環状に形成したものである。
 なお、タイヤケース17の周方向、軸方向、径方向は、それぞれタイヤ周方向、タイヤ軸方向、タイヤ径方向に対応している。
 タイヤケース17は、タイヤ軸方向に間隔をあけて配置された一対のビード部12と、これら一対のビード部12からタイヤ径方向外側へそれぞれ延出する一対のサイド部14と、一対のサイド部14を連結するクラウン部16と、を含んで構成されている。
 ビード部12は、リム(不図示)に接触する部位であり、外周面に後述する被覆層20が接着されている。
 サイド部14は、タイヤ10の側部を形成し、ビード部12からクラウン部16に向ってタイヤ軸方向外側に凸となるように緩やかに湾曲している。
 クラウン部16は、一方のサイド部14のタイヤ径方向外側端と他方のサイド部14のタイヤ径方向外側端とを連結する部位であり、タイヤ径方向外側に配設されるトレッド30(詳細は後述)を支持する。
 また、本実施形態では、クラウン部16は、略一定厚みとされ、外周面16Aがタイヤ軸方向断面において平坦状に形成されている。言い換えると、クラウン部16の外周面16Aは、タイヤ軸線までの距離がタイヤ軸方向の一端から他端に亘って略一定(ここで言う「略一定」は、±3mm程度の距離の差を許容する)とされている。なお、本実施形態のクラウン部16の外周面16Aは、後述する補強コード部材22が配設される部分である。
 また、本実施形態では、タイヤケース17の空気充填空間を構成する面をタイヤケース17の内面とし、タイヤケース17の内面に対して反体側の面をタイヤケース17の外面として説明する。なお、クラウン部16の外周面16Aは、クラウン部16の外面と読み替えもよい。
 なお、本実施形態では、クラウン部16の外周面16Aをタイヤ軸方向断面において平坦状にしているが、本発明はこの構成に限定されず、外周面16Aをタイヤ軸方向断面において平坦状にしなくてもよい。例えば、クラウン部16の外周面16Aをタイヤ軸方向断面においてタイヤ径方向外側へ膨らませた湾曲形状(円弧形状)にしてもよい。
 また、タイヤケース17は、単一の樹脂材料で形成され、図1に示すように、一つのビード部12、一つのサイド部14、及び半幅のクラウン部16を有する円環状のタイヤ半体17Hを一対形成し、これらのタイヤ半体17Hを互いに向かい合わせ、各々の半幅クラウン部16の端部同士を接合して形成されている。
 なお、本発明は上記構成に限定されず、タイヤケース17を一体成型品としてもよく、タイヤケース17を3以上の樹脂部材に分けて製造し、これらを接合して形成してもよい。例えば、タイヤケース17を各部位(例えば、ビード部12、サイド部14、クラウン部16)ごとに分けて製造し、これらを接合して形成してもよい。このとき、タイヤケース17の各部位(例えば、ビード部12、サイド部14、クラウン部16)を異なる特徴を有する樹脂材料で形成してもよい。
 また、タイヤケース17に、補強材(高分子材料や金属製の繊維、コード、不織布、織布等)を埋設配置してタイヤケース17を補強材で補強してもよい。
 また、本実施形態のタイヤ10に用いる樹脂材料としては、熱可塑性樹脂(熱可塑性エラストマーを含む)、熱硬化性樹脂、及びその他の汎用樹脂のほか、エンジニアリングプラスチック(スーパーエンジニアリングプラスチックを含む)等を用いることができる。なお、ここでの樹脂材料には、加硫ゴムは含まれない。
 熱可塑性樹脂(熱可塑性エラストマーを含む)とは、温度上昇と共に材料が軟化、流動し、冷却すると比較的硬く強度のある状態になる高分子化合物をいう。本明細書では、このうち、温度上昇と共に材料が軟化、流動し、冷却すると比較的硬く強度のある状態になり、かつ、ゴム状弾性を有する高分子化合物を熱可塑性エラストマーとし、温度上昇と共に材料が軟化、流動し、冷却すると比較的硬く強度のある状態になり、かつ、ゴム状弾性を有しない高分子化合物をエラストマーでない熱可塑性樹脂として、区別する。
 熱可塑性樹脂(熱可塑性エラストマーを含む)としては、ポリオレフィン系熱可塑性エラストマー(TPO)、ポリスチレン系熱可塑性エラストマー(TPS)、ポリアミド系熱可塑性エラストマー(TPA)、ポリウレタン系熱可塑性エラストマー(TPU)、ポリエステル系熱可塑性エラストマー(TPC)、及び、動的架橋型熱可塑性エラストマー(TPV)、ならびに、ポリオレフィン系熱可塑性樹脂、ポリスチレン系熱可塑性樹脂、ポリアミド系熱可塑性樹脂、及び、ポリエステル系熱可塑性樹脂等が挙げられる。
 また、上記の熱可塑性材料としては、例えば、ISO75-2又はASTM D648に規定されている荷重たわみ温度(0.45MPa荷重時)が78℃以上、JIS K7113に規定される引張降伏強さが10MPa以上、同じくJIS K7113に規定される引張破壊伸び(JIS K7113)が50%以上。JIS K7206に規定されるビカット軟化温度(A法)が130℃であるものを用いることができる。
 熱硬化性樹脂とは、温度上昇と共に3次元的網目構造を形成し、硬化する高分子化合物をいう。
 熱硬化性樹脂としては、例えば、フェノール樹脂、エポキシ樹脂、メラミン樹脂、ユリア樹脂等が挙げられる。
 なお、樹脂材料には、既述の熱可塑性樹脂(熱可塑性エラストマーを含む)及び熱硬化性樹脂のほか、(メタ)アクリル系樹脂、EVA樹脂、塩化ビニル樹脂、フッ素系樹脂、シリコーン系樹脂等の汎用樹脂を用いてもよい。
 なお、本実施形態では、タイヤケース17の形成に用いる骨格用樹脂材料として、熱可塑性樹脂を用いている。
 図1に示すように、ビード部12には、タイヤ周方向に沿って延びる円環状のビードコア18が埋設されている。このビードコア18は、ビードコード(不図示)で構成されている。このビードコードは、金属コード(例えば、スチールコード)、有機繊維コード、樹脂被覆した有機繊維コード、または硬質樹脂などで構成される。なお、ビード部12の剛性を十分に確保できれば、ビードコア自体を省略してもよい。
 また、ビード部12の表面には、少なくともリム(不図示)との接触部分に該リムとの間のシール性(気密性)を高めるための被覆層20が形成されている。この被覆層20は、タイヤケース17よりも軟質で且つ耐候性が高い材料を円環状に形成したものである。
 なお、本実施形態の被覆層20は、タイヤケース17よりも軟質(シール性が高く)で且つ耐候性が高いゴム材を用いて形成されている。
 また、本実施形態の被覆層20は、ビード部12のタイヤ軸方向内側の内面からタイヤ軸方向外側の外面へ折り返され、サイド部14の外面を経由して後述する補強層28のタイヤ軸方向外側の端部28A近傍まで延びている。そして、被覆層20の延出端部は、後述するクッションゴム32及びトレッド30によって覆われている。
 なお、タイヤケース17のビード部12のみで、リム(不図示)との間のシール性(気密性)を確保できれば、被覆層20を省略してもよい。
 図1、図2に示すように、タイヤケース17の外周、具体的には、クラウン部16の外周には、補強コード部材22が配設されている。この補強コード部材22は、補強コード24とこの補強コード24を被覆する樹脂被覆層26とを含んで構成されている。
 補強コード24は、金属繊維や有機繊維等のモノフィラメント(単線)、又はこれらの繊維を撚ったマルチフィラメント(撚り線)で構成されている。
 樹脂被覆層26は、被覆用の樹脂材料(被覆用樹脂材料)で形成され、断面形状が略四角形状とされている。なお、樹脂被覆層26の断面形状は略四角形状に限定されない。例えば、断面円形状や、断面台形状であっても構わない。
 なお、本実施形態では、樹脂被覆層26を形成する被覆用樹脂材料として、熱可塑性樹脂を用いている。
 補強コード部材22は、タイヤ周方向に螺旋状に巻かれると共に、タイヤケース17の外周(具体的には、クラウン部16の外周)に接合されている。
 また、補強コード部材22は、タイヤ軸方向に隣接する部分同士が接合されている。なお、補強コード部材22のタイヤ軸方向に隣接する部分同士の接合は、一部分でも全部でも構わないが、接合面積が広いほど補強コード部材22で構成される補強層28の剛性が向上する。
 なお、本実施形態の補強コード部材22は、樹脂被覆層26がタイヤケース17の外周(具体的には、クラウン部16の外周)に溶着され、かつ、樹脂被覆層26のタイヤ軸方向に隣接する部分同士が溶着されている。
 上記補強コード部材22によって、タイヤケース17の外周(具体的には、クラウン部16の外周)には、クラウン部16を補強する補強層28が形成されている。
 図2に示すように、樹脂被覆層26の厚みは、タイヤケース17への接合側よりも反対側で厚くなっている。具体的には、樹脂被覆層26の厚みは、補強コード24の中心Pを通り且つクラウン部16の外周面16Aに垂直な垂線PLに沿って計測したものであり、図2では、樹脂被覆層26の上記接合側の厚みをT1で示し、樹脂被覆層26の上記反対側の厚みをT2で示している。
 また、本実施形態では、クラウン部16の外周面16Aをタイヤ軸方向断面において平坦状としていることから、垂線PLはタイヤ径方向に沿うため、樹脂被覆層26の上記接合側をタイヤ径方向内側、樹脂被覆層26の上記反対側をタイヤ径方向外側と読み替えてもよい。また、樹脂被覆層26の上記接合側をタイヤケース17の空気充填空間側、樹脂被覆層26の上記反対側をトレッド30側と読み替えてもよい。
 なお、本発明は補強コード部材22のタイヤ軸方向に隣接する部分同士が接合されればよいため、補強コード部材22は、クラウン部16の外周面16A上に配設されても、クラウン部16に一部が埋め込まれても構わない。
 また、本実施形態では、タイヤケース17に用いられる骨格用樹脂材料と樹脂被覆層26に用いられる被覆用樹脂材料とを同じ材料にしている。なお、本発明はこの構成に限定されず、骨格用樹脂材料と被覆用樹脂材料とを異なる材料にしてもよい。
 タイヤケース17のタイヤ径方向外側には、クッションゴム32、トレッド30の順でゴム層が配設されている。これらクッションゴム32及びトレッド30はそれぞれ補強層28をタイヤ径方向外側から覆っている。このクッションゴム32は、タイヤ10の走行時にトレッド30が受ける路面からの入力を緩衝して乗り心地性を向上させるものであり、弾性率がトレッドゴムよりも低く設定されている。
 なお、タイヤ10としては、クッションゴム32を省略してトレッド30を直接クラウン部16のタイヤ径方向外側に配設する構成としてもよい。
 また、トレッド30は、路面との接地面に複数の溝30Aを含むトレッドパターン(図示省略)が形成されている。
 なお、本実施形態では、トレッド30を単一のゴムからなる構造としているが、本発明はこの構成に限定されず、トレッド30を複数種類のゴムを積層した構造としてもよく、トレッド30をタイヤ軸方向の中央領域、端部領域でゴム種を異ならせる構造としてもよく、これらの組合せでもよい。
(タイヤの製造方法)
 次に、本実施形態のタイヤ10の製造方法の一例を説明する。
 まず、タイヤケース17を形成するタイヤケース形成工程について説明する。
 なお、本実施形態のタイヤケース形成工程は、本発明のタイヤ骨格部材形成工程の一例である。
 まず、タイヤ半体17Hを成型するための金型(不図示)内にビードコア18を配設し、次に、上記金型のキャビティ内に骨格用樹脂材料を射出して円環状のタイヤ半体17Hを成型する。すなわち、タイヤ半体17Hは、骨格用樹脂材料を用いた射出成型により形成される。なお、本実施形態では、骨格用樹脂材料として熱可塑性材料を用いている。このようにして、タイヤ半体17Hを一対(一組)成型する。
 次に、タイヤ半体17Hの外面に被覆層20を形成するための金型(不図示)の内部にタイヤ半体17Hを配設し、上記金型のキャビティ内に加熱した未加硫ゴムを注入してタイヤ半体17Hの外面に被覆層20を形成する。なお、タイヤ半体17Hと被覆層20の接合力を高めるために、タイヤ半体17Hの外面の被覆層20を配設する部位をあらかじめバフ処理(例えば、バフ処理、グラインダ処理、サンドブラスト処理など)し、バフ処理面に接着剤(詳細は後述)を塗布してもよい。また、接着力を高めるために、接着剤を塗布した後にある程度乾燥させておいてもよい。
 次に、一対のタイヤ半体17Hを互いに向かい合わせ、各々の半幅クラウン部16の端部同士を突き合わせ、突き合わせ部分に溶融状態の溶接用樹脂材料を付着させて一対のタイヤ半体17Hを接合する(図3では、溶接用樹脂材料で接合された部分を符号17Aで示す)。このようにして、円環状のタイヤケース17(図3参照)が形成される。
 次に、タイヤケース17の外周に補強コード部材22を巻き付ける補強コード部材巻付工程(図4参照)について説明する。
 なお、本実施形態の補強コード部材巻付工程は、本発明の補強コード部材巻付工程の一例である。
 まず、タイヤケース17を回転可能に支持するタイヤ支持装置(不図示)に取り付け、次に、図4、図5に示すように、タイヤケース17の外周近傍にコード供給装置40、加熱装置50、押付器としての押付ローラ60、及び冷却器としての冷却ローラ70を移動させる。
 ここで、本実施形態の補強コード部材巻付工程で用いるコード供給装置40、加熱装置50、押付ローラ60、及び冷却ローラ70について説明する。
 コード供給装置40は、補強コード24を被覆用樹脂材料(本実施形態では、熱可塑性樹脂)で形成された樹脂被覆層26で被覆した補強コード部材22を巻き付けたリール42と、このリール42から巻き出された補強コード部材22をタイヤケース17の外周(クラウン部16の外周面16A)に案内するためのガイド部材44とを含んで構成されている。このガイド部材44は、筒状とされ、内部を補強コード部材22が通過するようになっている。また、ガイド部材44の口部46からは、クラウン部16の外周面16Aに向かって補強コード部材22が送り出される。
 加熱装置50は、熱風を補強コード部材22の貼付面22C側、及び、タイヤケース17の外周(クラウン部16の外周面16A)の上記補強コード部材22が配設される部分に吹き当てて、吹き当てた部分を加熱し溶融させるものである。なお、本実施形態では、電熱線(不図示)で加熱した空気をファン(不図示)で発生させた気流で吹出し口52から吹き出し、この吹き出した熱風を補強コード部材22の貼付面22C側、及び、クラウン部16の外周面16Aの上記補強コード部材22が配設される部分に吹き当てるようになっている。なお、加熱装置50の構成は、上記構成に限定されず、熱可塑性樹脂を加熱溶融できれば、どのような構成であってもよい。例えば、補強コード部材22の貼付面22C及びタイヤケース17の外周に熱鏝を接触させて接触部分を加熱溶融させてもよく、輻射熱で加熱溶融させてもよく、赤外線を照射して加熱溶融させてもよい。
 押付ローラ60は、後述する補強コード部材22をタイヤケース17の外周(クラウン部16の外周面16A)に押し付けるものであり、押付力Fを調整できるようになっている。また、押付ローラ60のローラ表面には、溶融状態の樹脂材料の付着を防ぐための加工が施されている。そして、押付ローラ60は、回転自在となっており、補強コード部材22をタイヤケース17の外周に押し付けている状態では、タイヤケース17の回転方向(矢印A方向)に対して従動回転(矢印B方向)するようになっている。
 また、冷却ローラ70は、押付ローラ60よりもタイヤケース17の回転方向下流側に配置され、補強コード部材22をタイヤケース17の外周(クラウン部16の外周面16A)に押し付けつつ、補強コード部材22及びこの補強コード部材22を介してクラウン部16側を冷却するものである。この冷却ローラ70は、押付ローラ60と同様に、押付力を調整でき、かつ、ローラ表面に溶融状態の樹脂材料の付着を防ぐための加工が施されている。さらに、冷却ローラ70は、押付ローラ60と同様に、回転自在となっており、補強コード部材22をタイヤケース17の外周に押し付けている状態では、タイヤケース17の回転方向(矢印A方向)に対して従動回転するようになっている。また、冷却ローラ70は、ローラ内部を液体(例えば、水など)が流通するようになっており、この液体の熱交換によりローラ表面に接触した部材(本実施形態では、補強コード部材22)などを冷却することができる。なお、溶融状態の樹脂材料を自然冷却させる場合には、冷却ローラ70を省略してもよい。
 次に、図4、図5に示すように、タイヤ支持装置(不図示)に取り付けたタイヤケース17を矢印A方向に回転させると共にコード供給装置40の口部46から補強コード部材22をクラウン部16の外周面16Aに向けて送り出す。
 そして、加熱装置50の吹出し口52から補強コード部材22の貼付面22C、及び、クラウン部16の上記補強コード部材22が配設される部分に向かって熱風を吹き出して両者を加熱し溶融させながら(図6参照)、補強コード部材22の貼付面22Cをクラウン部16の溶融部分に付着させつつ、補強コード部材22を押付ローラ60でクラウン部16の外周面16Aに押し付ける。この押付ローラ60によって補強コード部材22は、貼付面22C側がタイヤ軸方向に膨出するように変形(図7に示す押し潰しによる変形)して、樹脂被覆層26のタイヤ軸方向に隣接する部分同士が接触する。
 その後、クラウン部16の溶融部分及び樹脂被覆層26の溶融部分は、樹脂被覆層26が冷却ローラ70に接触し、この樹脂被覆層26を介して冷却されると、固化して樹脂被覆層26のタイヤ軸方向に隣接する部分同士が溶着され、樹脂被覆層26とクラウン部16とが溶着される。
 一方、クラウン部16と補強コード部材22の貼付面22Cをそれぞれ加熱溶融させながら、補強コード部材22をクラウン部16の外周面16Aにタイヤ周方向に螺旋状に巻き付けると共に外周面16Aに押し付けていくことで、タイヤケース17の外周、具体的には、クラウン部16の外周に補強層28が形成される。
 なお、クラウン部16の外周面16Aに補強コード部材22を螺旋状に巻き付けるには、タイヤケース17の回転にともなってコード供給装置40の口部46の位置をタイヤ軸方向に移動させたり、タイヤケース17をタイヤ軸方向に移動させたりすればよい。
 ここで、本実施形態では、補強コード部材22をクラウン部16の外周面16Aに螺旋状に巻き付ける際に、図6に示すように、補強コード部材22の既に巻き付けられた部分に対して新たに巻き付ける部分をタイヤ軸方向に間隔W1をあけて配設している。このように間隔W1をあけて補強コード部材22をクラウン部16に巻き付けていくことで、既に巻き付けられた部分に対して新たに巻き付ける部分を干渉させずに補強コード部材22を巻き付けることができる。すなわち、補強コード部材22をスムーズに巻き付けることができる。なお、間隔W1をあけて補強コード部材22をクラウン部16に巻き付けても、図7に示すように、新たに巻き付ける部分を押付ローラ60で押し潰し変形させて既に巻き付けられた部分に接触させるため、補強コード部材22は、タイヤ軸方向に互いに隣接する部分同士が溶着され、かつタイヤ軸方向に互いに隣接する同士間の隙間がなくなる。
 なお、図6、図7では、それぞれ変形前の補強コード24を二点鎖線で示している。
 図6、図7に示すように、本実施形態では、補強コード部材22は、タイヤケース17の外周(クラウン部16の外周面16A)に巻き付ける前の縦幅H1よりも、巻き付けた後の縦幅H2が押し潰し変形によって短くなっている。また、巻き付ける前の補強コード部材22は、補強コード24が中心に位置している。
 一方、コード供給装置40のリール42にブレーキを掛けたり、補強コード部材22の案内経路中にテンション調整用のローラ(不図示)などを設けたりして補強コード部材22のテンションを調整してもよい。テンションを調整することで、補強コード部材22の蛇行配置を抑制することができる。
 次に、タイヤケース17のタイヤ径方向外側にゴム層を積層するゴム層積層工程について説明する。
 まず、タイヤケース17の外周に配設された補強層28の表面(外周面)及び補強層28の周囲を粗化処理(例えば、サンドペーパー、グラインダ、サンドブラスト等で粗化処理)して微細な凹凸を形成する。
 なお、本実施形態では、矢印A方向に回転するタイヤケース17の外周及び補強層28の外周面に向けて、ブラストガン80から投射材を高速度で射出してタイヤケース17の外周及び補強層28の外周面に微細な凹凸を形成する(図8参照)。
 ここで、本実施形態では、補強コード部材22の貼付面22C側を加熱溶融して補強コード部材22(樹脂被覆層26)を押し潰し変形させていることから、樹脂被覆層26の厚みが接合側よりも反対側で厚くなっている。これにより、補強層28の外周面をブラストガン80から射出した投射材で粗化処理した際に、補強層28の外周面に補強コード24が露出するのを防止できる。
 上記のようにして微細な凹凸部を形成した粗化処理面上に接着剤(不図示)を塗布する。
 接着剤としては、トリアジンチオール系接着剤、塩化ゴム系接着剤、フェノール系樹脂接着剤、イソシアネート系接着剤、ハロゲン化ゴム系接着剤などを用いることができる。接着力を向上させるためには、接着剤を塗布した後に、ある程度乾燥させておくことが好ましい。このため、接着剤を塗布する際には、湿度70%以下の雰囲気で行うことが好ましい。
 また、粗化処理面は、アルコール等の溶剤で洗浄して脱脂したり、コロナ処理や紫外線照射処理したりすることが好ましい。
 次に、図9に示すように、補強層28及びその周囲を覆うようにタイヤケース17の外周に未加硫のクッションゴム32と半加硫または加硫済みの帯状のトレッド30をそれぞれ1周分巻き付ける。
 なお、加硫済みとは、最終製品として必要とされる加硫度に至っている状態をいい、半加硫状態とは、未加硫の状態よりは加硫度が高いが、最終製品として必要とされる加硫度には至っていない状態をいう。
 また、半加硫又は加硫状態のトレッド30には、予め踏面側(外周側)に溝30A等のトレッドパターンが形成されている。トレッドパターンを形成するため、未加硫のトレッド30を金型内で加硫して、半加硫又は加硫状態のトレッド30を成型する。
 次に、ゴム層が積層されたタイヤケース17を加硫する加硫工程について説明する。
 まず、タイヤケース17を加硫缶やモールドに収容して所定温度で所定時間加熱して加硫する。これにより、未加硫のクッションゴム32が加硫されて最終製品の加硫度に至る。また、半加硫状態のトレッド30を用いた場合も、このトレッド30がさらに加硫されて最終製品の加硫度に至る。
 そして、加硫工程が終了すると、タイヤ10が完成する。
 なお、本実施形態に係るタイヤの製造方法における各工程の順序は、適宜変更することが可能である。
 次に、タイヤ10の作用効果について説明する。
 本実施形態のタイヤ10では、タイヤ周方向に螺旋状に巻かれる補強コード部材22の樹脂被覆層26のタイヤ軸方向に隣接する部分同士を接合していることから、例えば、補強コード部材22の樹脂被覆層26のタイヤ軸方向に隣接する部分同士を接合しないものと比べて、タイヤケース17に接合される補強コード部材22で構成される補強層28の剛性(タイヤ周方向、タイヤ軸方向、及び、タイヤ径方向の各剛性)が向上する。特に、本実施形態では、樹脂被覆層26のタイヤ軸方向に隣接する部分同士を溶着していることから、樹脂被覆層26のタイヤ軸方向に隣接する部分同士の接合力が増して、補強層28の剛性がさらに向上する。
 これにより、補強層28が接合されるタイヤケース17の剛性、具体的にはクラウン部16の剛性を効果的に向上させることができる。
 また、補強コード部材22の樹脂被覆層26をタイヤケース17に接合(本実施形態では、溶着)していることから、補強層28とタイヤケース17との接合力が増して、補強層28とタイヤケース17との間の剥離が効果的に抑制される。
 また、補強コード部材22が配設される部分のタイヤケース17の外周、すなわち、クラウン部16の外周面16Aを、タイヤ軸方向において平坦状としていることから、例えば、補強コード部材22が配設される部分のタイヤケース17の外周をタイヤ軸方向断面において湾曲させたものと比べて、タイヤ製造工程において、タイヤケース17の外周(クラウン部16の外周面16A)に補強コード部材22を巻き付ける際の位置ずれを抑制することができるため、補強コード部材22のタイヤ軸方向に隣接する部分同士を確実に接合(本実施形態では、溶着)させることができる。
 タイヤ10では、タイヤケース17に用いられる骨格用樹脂材料及び樹脂被覆層26に用いられる被覆用樹脂材料をともに熱可塑性樹脂にしていることから、補強コード部材22をクラウン部16に巻き付ける際に、加熱溶融した樹脂被覆層26と加熱溶融したタイヤケース17の各々の樹脂材料が互いに混ざり合って補強コード部材22とタイヤケース17との接合力がさらに向上する。
 また、タイヤ10では、タイヤケース17に用いられる骨格用樹脂材料として熱可塑性樹脂を用いていることから、タイヤケース17が受けた傷などを、傷の周囲を溶融して補修したり、骨格用樹脂材料と同じ樹脂材料を溶融状態で傷に補填して補修したりすることができる。
 さらに、タイヤ10では、タイヤケース17に用いられる骨格用樹脂材料と樹脂被覆層26に用いられる被覆用樹脂材料を同じ材料にしていることから、別々の樹脂材料を使用するものと比べて、タイヤケース17の生産コストを減らすことができる。
 そして、タイヤ10では、樹脂被覆層26の厚みをタイヤケース17への接合側よりも反対側で厚くしていることから、タイヤ解体処理時、ここでは、補強層28からゴム層(本実施形態では、トレッド30及びクッションゴム32)を剥がす際に、熱可塑性を有する樹脂材料を溶融しながら切断するための工具(例えば、超音波振動で樹脂材料を溶融させる超音波ウエルダなど)を補強コード24と上記ゴム層との間(熱可塑性樹脂部分)に差し込みやすくなる。これにより、タイヤ10の解体処理を容易に行うことができる。
 第1実施形態では、補強コード部材22と共にクラウン部16を加熱装置50で加熱し溶融する構成としているが、本発明はこの構成に限定されず、補強コード部材22のみを加熱装置50で加熱し溶融する構成としてもよい。この場合においても、補強コード部材22を押し潰し変形させることで、補強コード部材22のタイヤ軸方向に隣接する部分同士を溶着させることができることは言うまでもない。
 また、第1実施形態では、タイヤケース17を熱可塑性樹脂で形成する構成としているが、本発明はこの構成に限定されず、タイヤケース17を熱硬化性樹脂で形成する構成としてもよい。この場合においても、上記と同様に、補強コード部材22を押し潰し変形させることで、補強コード部材22のタイヤ軸方向に隣接する部分同士を溶着させることができる。
 また、第1実施形態では、補強コード部材22の樹脂被覆層26とタイヤケース17のクラウン部16を溶着する構成としているが、本発明はこの構成に限定されず、補強コード部材22の樹脂被覆層26とタイヤケース17のクラウン部16を接着剤で接着する構成としてもよい。
 またさらに、第1実施形態では、タイヤケース17及び樹脂被覆層26を熱可塑性樹脂で形成する構成としているが、本発明はこの構成に限定されず、タイヤケース17及び樹脂被覆層26を熱硬化性樹脂で形成する構成としてもよい。この場合には、上記のように、補強コード部材22の樹脂被覆層26とタイヤケース17のクラウン部16を接着剤で接着する構成とする。
 第1実施形態では、タイヤ10の断面形状をリムに装着するタイプの空気入りゴムタイヤと略同様の形状とする構成としているが、本発明はこの構成に限定されず、タイヤ10の断面形状を円筒状としてもよい。この場合においても、補強層28によりタイヤ10の剛性が向上することは言うまでもない。
 以上、実施形態を挙げて本発明の実施の形態を説明したが、これらの実施形態は一例であり、要旨を逸脱しない範囲内で種々変更して実施できる。また、本発明の権利範囲がこれらの実施形態に限定されないことは言うまでもない。
 なお、2013年4月18日に出願された日本国特許出願2013-087432号の開示は、その全体が参照により本明細書に取り込まれる。

Claims (7)

  1.  骨格用樹脂材料を用いて形成された環状のタイヤ骨格部材と、
     前記タイヤ骨格部材の外周に配設され、補強コードを樹脂被覆層で被覆して構成され、タイヤ周方向に螺旋状に巻かれると共に前記タイヤ骨格部材に接合され、且つ、タイヤ軸方向に隣接する部分同士が接合された補強コード部材と、
     を有するタイヤ。
  2.  前記樹脂被覆層は、熱可塑性を有し、
     前記補強コード部材は、前記樹脂被覆層が前記タイヤ骨格部材に溶着され、かつ、前記樹脂被覆層のタイヤ軸方向に隣接する部分同士が溶着されている、請求項1に記載のタイヤ。
  3.  前記樹脂被覆層の厚みは、前記タイヤ骨格部材への接合側よりも反対側で厚い、請求項2に記載のタイヤ。
  4.  前記タイヤ骨格部材の外周は、前記補強コード部材が配設される部分がタイヤ軸方向断面において平坦状とされている、請求項1~3のいずれか1項に記載のタイヤ。
  5.  前記骨格用樹脂材料は、熱可塑性を有している、請求項1~4のいずれか1項に記載のタイヤ。
  6.  骨格用樹脂材料を用いて環状のタイヤ骨格部材を形成するタイヤ骨格部材形成工程と、
     補強コードを樹脂被覆層で被覆して構成された補強コード部材を前記タイヤ骨格部材の外周にタイヤ周方向に螺旋状に巻き付けながら前記タイヤ骨格部材に接合すると共に、前記補強コード部材のタイヤ軸方向に隣接する部分同士を接合する補強コード部材巻付工程と、
     を有するタイヤの製造方法。
  7.  前記樹脂被覆層は、熱可塑性を有し、
     前記補強コード部材巻付工程では、前記補強コード部材の前記樹脂被覆層を加熱して溶融させながら、前記補強コード部材を前記タイヤ骨格部材の外周にタイヤ周方向に螺旋状に巻き付けると共に前記外周に押し付けて、前記タイヤ骨格部材と前記補強コード部材の樹脂被覆層とを溶着させると共に、押付時に前記補強コード部材を変形させて前記樹脂被覆層のタイヤ軸方向に隣接する部分同士を接触させて溶着させる、請求項6に記載のタイヤの製造方法。
