Abstract
Mutated polypeptide, strains comprising it and methods to detect metallic cations, for example Au, Cu, Ag, Hg, Pb, Cd, Co and Zn, in samples simultaneously, wherein the polypeptide comprises a substitution of serine with cysteine in position 77 of SEQ ID NO: 1 or SEQ ID NO: 2; and wherein said protein has activity of transcriptional regulator, for example GolS or CueR. The polypeptide detects the metals as monovalent and divalent metallic cations.
