Abstract

The present invention relates to a lengthener made of metal or a similar material for correcting limb bone deformities by surgically lengthening or positioning the affected bone at an angle, in the metaphyseal and diaphyseal zones. The lengthener has two portions, an upper component and a lower component that slide one on the other, are fitted together and fastened by serrated rails, and attached by screws to fragments of the previously sectioned bone. The two main fitted portions allow the bone to be distracted or positioned at an angle, and stabilise the bone until bone healing occurs. The device makes surgical interventions more accurate and easier, since it allows the bone to be positioned with the required angle or spacing.

Refere-se o presente objeto a um dispositivo alongador desenvolvido em metal ou outros materiais similares, para corrigir deformidades ósseas de membros, através do alongamento cirúrgico ou da abertura em ângulo do osso comprometido, nas regiões da metáfise e diáfise. O alongador é provido de duas peças, componentes superior e inferior deslizantes uma sobre a outra, que são encaixadas e fixadas através de trilhos serrilhados, presas por parafusos aos segmentos do osso que foi dividido previamente.
