Abstract

The invention relates to a DC power distribution system (1) with power providing elements (4) like bus bar components, which are connected by coupling devices (2, 3) and to which an electrical device (6) and a localization device (7) are connected. The electrical device or the localization device transmits a signal representing a count value via the power providing elements. The coupling devices receive the signal from the power providing elements, update the signal by adding a value to the count value,and send the updated signal to the power providing elements. Another of the electrical device and the localization device, which has not sent the signal, receives the signal and determines the location of the electrical device depending on the count value indicated by the signal. This allows providing location information in a relatively simple way, which may be useful for, for instance, commissioning purposes.
