Abstract

A charging device (100) for a chargeable electrical energy store (105) comprises a current source (110) having two current terminals (115, 120) for providing a charging current for charging the energy store, a first monitoring device (125) and an assigned interruption device for interrupting the charging current in the case of a charging fault, and a second interruption device in the form of a fusible link (145) for interrupting the charging current in the case where the charging current rises above a predetermined threshold value.
