In a conventional computing environment, every application server has its own interface to manage the web services that was being deployed in it. When there are multiple application servers running in the server farm, it becomes difficult to manage all the web services deployed since the system administration requires to login into every application server to monitor and control the web services. This causes system administration to have difficulties to meet increasing demand of some applications. Therefore, a need exists to provide an improved resources management in computing environments.

BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS
FIG 1 illustrates the architecture of the system under the preferred embodiment of this invention. DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION
The invention and its various embodiments is better understood by reading the description along with the accompanying drawings which appear herein for the purpose for illustration only and does not limit the invention in any way.
FIG 1 illustrates a system for managing application and web service in application servers (12). The system contains a server farm (11) and a MCM client (20). A Monitoring and Control Management (MCM) server (11) is required to setup each computing engines (13-1 , 13-2,13-3..13-n) located in the server farm (10). The MCM server (11 ) is a daemon application running in computing engines (13-1 , 13-2, 13-3...13- n). MCM server (11 ) is in communication with the MCM client (20) through a socket connection. MCM server (11) opens a socket connection port and waits for the MCM client (20) to establish a connection. MCM client (20) does not have limitations on the number of instances being setup.
MCM client (20) requires a properties file (21) during initialization. The properties file (21) provides information of computing engines (13-1 , 13-2, 13-3 ...13-n) such as IP address, socket connection port number, number of application servers (12) available and web services information for each application servers (12). The information is loaded into the core (23) through properties file loader module (22).
The core (23) includes a monitoring module (24) and a control module (25). The core (23) instructs the thread pool controller (26) to spawn thread (27-1 , 27-2, 27-3...27-n) based on the information in the properties file (21). During spawning of the threads (27-
1 , 27-2, 27-3...27-n), a socket connection to the MCM server (11) is established. Each thread (27-1 , 27-2, 27-3...27-n) is dedicated to manage one computing engine (13-1 , 13-
2, 13-3 ...13-n).
The control module (25) contained in the core (23) sends instructions through one or more thread (27-1 , 27-2, 27-3...27-n) provided by a thread pool controller (26) to the server (11) via socket connection. The MCM server (11) is responsible to start or stop the web service and the application servers (12). The MCM server (11 ) returns the success or failure status of the instruction to the client (20). The MCM server (11) also collects the resources information from application servers (12) and computing engines (13-1 , 13-2, 13-3 ...13-n), compiles them into a package and sends to the respective thread (27-1 , 27-2, 27-3... 27-n). The threads (27-1 , 27-2, 27-3...27-n) receive the resources information collected by the MCM server (11) and deliver it to the monitoring module (24).
The resources information includes information from Central Processing Unit (CPU), Hard Disc Drive (HDD), memory of the computing engines (13-1 , 13-2, 13-3...13-n), status of the web service and status of the application servers (12). The information is processed by the monitoring module (24) before sent to the output renderer (28). The percentage of available resources and the percentage of resources usage are calculated. The calculated information is rendered by the output renderer (28) and is viewed in graphical format by the user. The graphical format consists of graph and table format. The monitoring module (24) continuously monitors the computing engine (13-1 , 13-2, 13-3...13-n) based on the time interval specified in the properties file (21). Once the monitoring module (24) receives the latest resources information, it will process the output renderer (28) to update the results. The monitoring module (24) continuously monitors until the client (20) shuts down.
