Abstract

A valve assembly comprising a body (10) having a main passage (12), and a valve member (16) which is located in the main passage (12) and which is rotatable between an open position in which the main passage (12) is substantially open, and a closed position in which the valve member (16) substantially blocks the main passage (12), and an actuator (18) which is movable generally parallel to the longitudinal axis of the main passage (12), the actuator (18) being engaged with the valve member (16) such that movement of the actuator (18) generally parallel to the longitudinal axis of the main passage (12) causes the valve member (16) to rotate between its open and closed positions.
