 本発明は、後端のリヤパネルに開口部を有している車体の剛性を高めるように改良された車体後部構造に関する。
 車両のなかには、リヤパネルに有している開口部をテイルゲートによって開閉するタイプの車両、例えばハッチバック車がある(例えば、特許文献1乃至3参照。)。開口部の下縁には、車幅方向に延びた閉断面体が配置されている。このため、リヤパネルの剛性は高い。また、車体の後部には、左右のリヤサスペンション用ダンパを支持するための左右のリヤダンパハウスが設けられている。
 特に、特許文献1に知られている車体では、車内に配置されている左右のリヤダンパハウスの後端が、前記閉断面体の両端に直接に接合されている。このため、左右のリヤダンパハウスの車幅方向の曲げ剛性を、車幅方向に延びている該閉断面体によって高めることができる。
 近年は、車体全体の剛性を一層高める技術の開発が進められている。車体後部の全体の剛性を高めるには、左右のリヤサスペンション用ダンパから左右のリヤダンパハウスに伝わった荷重、特に車幅方向の荷重を、前記閉断面体にできるだけ効率良く伝達することが好しい。しかし、該左右のリヤダンパハウスは、ハウス側板と、該ハウス側板の上部に設けられたハウス天板と、だけによって構成されている。このため、該車幅方向の荷重を、左右のリヤダンパハウス(左右のダンパ支持部)から前記閉断面体へ効率良く伝達するには限界がある。しかも、左右のリヤダンパハウスが車内に位置しているので、その分だけ車内スペースが減少する。該車内スペースを広くするには、更なる改良の余地がある。

 請求項22に記載のごとく、さらに好ましくは、前記リヤインナパネルは、前記多角形断面部の下端から車体の後面に沿って下方へ延びた、縦板状の延長壁部を備えている。
 請求項1に係る発明では、左右のパネル用ガセットは、左右のリヤホイールハウスに接合された各一端部から、車体後方へ且つ車幅中央へ向かって傾きながら延び、該延びた各他端部がリヤパネル組立体に接合されている。このため、左右のパネル用ガセットは、左右のリヤサスペンション用ダンパから左右のダンパ支持部へ伝わった荷重(ダンパ荷重)を、左右のリヤホイールハウスからリヤパネル組立体へ効率良く円滑に伝えて、分散することができる。従って、左右のリヤホイールハウスの車幅方向の曲げ剛性を、車幅方向に延びているリヤパネル組立体によって高めるとともに、左右のダンパ支持部の剛性を高めることができる。この結果、車体全体の剛性を一層高めることができる。また、車体の外部からリヤパネル組立体に作用した外力(主に車幅方向の外力)を、左右のパネル用ガセットによって、左右のリヤホイールハウスに効率良く円滑に伝えて分散することができる。この結果、車体全体の剛性を一層高めることができる。さらに、左右のパネル用ガセットは、車体側部の内壁の一部を構成している左右のリヤホイールハウスと、車幅方向に延びているリヤパネル組立体と、のコーナに配置することが可能である。このため、車内スペースを極力確保することができる。
 請求項2に係る発明では、左右のガータ用ガセットは、開口部の左右の側縁に位置している左右のガータ組立体に、左右のリヤホイールハウスを連結している。このため、左右のガータ用ガセットは、左右のリヤサスペンション用ダンパから左右のダンパ支持部へ伝わった上下方向の荷重(ダンパ荷重)を、左右のリヤホイールハウスから左右のガータ組立体へ効率良く円滑に分散することができる。従って、左右のリヤホイールハウス及び左右のダンパ支持部の剛性を高めることができる。この結果、車体全体の剛性を一層高めることができる。また、車体の外部から左右のガータ組立体に作用した外力(主に上下方向の外力)を、左右のガータ用ガセットによって、左右のリヤホイールハウスに効率良く円滑に伝えて分散することができる。従って、左右のガータ組立体の剛性を高めることができるので、開口部の左右の側縁の剛性が高まる。この結果、車体全体の剛性を一層高めることができる。
 請求項3に係る発明では、ガータ用ガセットが、リヤホイールハウスに接合される一端部から上方に延びて、他端部がガータ組立体側に接合されたので、ガータ組立体(ガータ閉断面)の長手方向に渡って円滑に荷重伝達することができる。これにより、荷重伝達効率の向上を図ることができる。
 請求項4に係る発明では、左右のパネル用ガセットの一端部が、左右のガータ用ガセットの車幅中央側の端部に接合されるので、左右のダンパ支持部の近傍の剛性をより向上させることができる。また、左右のリヤサスペンション用ダンパに作用するダンパ荷重の方向にかかわらず、ダンパ荷重を左右のリヤパネル組立体と左右のガータ組立体とに伝達することができる。これにより、荷重伝達効率の向上を図ることができる。
 請求項5に係る発明では、開口部の周縁に配置される左右のリヤコンビネーションランプが収納される左右のコンビパネルを備え、左右のガータ用ガセットの車幅方向外側の端部が、左右のリヤホイールハウスに接合され、リヤパネル組立体と左右のリヤホイールハウスとの角部に左右のガセット閉断面部を構成するので、車体剛性(特に捩り剛性)の向上を図ることができる。
 請求項6に係る発明では、リヤパネル組立体が、車外側のリヤアウタ側部材と、車内側のリヤインナ側部材とにより車幅方向に延びる閉断面状に形成されるとともに、該閉断面を車幅方向に複数に仕切るように位置した複数のバルクヘッドを備える。左右のパネル用ガセットの他端部が、複数のバルクヘッドが配置される部位又は該部位に接合されるので、該左右のパネル用ガセットからの荷重をリヤインナ側部材のみではなく、リヤパネル組立体の全体に伝達することができる。これにより、荷重伝達効率の向上を図ることができる。
 請求項7に係る発明では、左右のコンビパネルが、左右のガータ組立体の構成の一部を構成している。このため、ガータ組立体を構成するためのパネルの枚数を、少なくすることができる。この結果、車体の部品点数の削減を図ることができる。
 請求項8に係る発明では、左右のコンビパネルが、開口部の周縁に位置した左右のコンビインナと、該左右のコンビインナの車幅方向の外側に位置した左右のコンビサイドと、から成る。左右のコンビインナは、左右のコンビサイドよりも厚板によって成形されるので、該左右のコンビサイドの荷重伝達性能の向上を図ることができる。この結果、荷重伝達性能の向上と車体重量の軽量化との、両立を図ることができる。
 請求項9に係る発明では、車体は、開口部の左右の側縁に位置して車体側部の内壁を構成するための左右のサイドパネルを備えている。該左右のサイドパネルは、左右のサイドインナパネルと左右のサイドアウタパネルとから成る。該左右のサイドインナパネルが、車体前後方向に延びる左右のインナ側壁部と、該インナ側壁部の後端から車幅中央側に屈曲する左右のインナ後壁部と、から成る。このため、車体側部の内壁が車内に膨出しないので、車内スペースを十分に確保することができる。また、左右のサイドアウタパネルは、左右のインナ側壁部から車幅方向の外側に間隔をあけて位置した左右のアウタ側壁部と、該左右のアウタ側壁部から車幅中央側へ屈曲して、該左右のインナ後壁部に接合されるアウタ後壁部と、から成る。このため、別々の部品を継ぎ足して骨格を形成する場合に比べ、部品点数の削減を図ることができる。さらには、サイドインナパネルの車外側面に接合されて、サイドインナパネルから車外側に膨出し、インナ側壁部とアウタ側壁部との間で上下方向に延びる閉断面を構成するガータスチフナを備えたので、開口部の剛性の向上を図ることができる。
 請求項10に係る発明では、左右のガータスチフナは、左右のインナ側壁部から左右の下コーナ部にまで延びるよう形成された左右のガータロアと、該左右のインナ側壁部から左右の上コーナ部にまで延びるよう形成された左右のガータアッパと、から成る。このため、左右のガータスチフナによって、閉断面構造を左右の上コーナ部から左右の下コーナ部まで連続させることができる。このように、左右のガータスチフナは、左右のガータアッパと左右のガータロアとが分割されている。例えば、左右のガータスチフナを、左右の上コーナ部と左右の下コーナ部とに合わせた形状に成形する場合であっても、該左右のガータスチフナを成形することは容易である(成形性を保つことができる)。
 請求項11に係る発明では、リヤパネル組立体は、車内側に膨出する膨出部を有したリヤインナ側部材と、該膨出部の車外側に接合される本体部を有したリヤアウタ側部材と、により、車幅方向に延びる閉断面状に構成されている。左右の下コーナ部は、車内側に位置して左右のガータロアが接合される左右のコーナインナ部材と、車外側に位置して該左右のコーナインナ部材に接合される左右のコーナアウタ部材と、によって閉断面状に構成されている。該左右のコーナアウタ部材は、左右の下コーナ部において車外側に位置し、本体部と左右のガータロアとに接合されている。このように、左右の下コーナ部が、左右のコーナインナ部材と左右のコーナアウタ部材とによって閉断面状を構成されることによって、開口部の下縁から左右の側縁に亘って閉断面構造を連続させることができる。このため、左右の側縁の閉断面をサイドインナパネルの車外側に形成する場合においても、車体の剛性の向上を図ることができる。
 請求項12に係る発明では、左右のコーナインナ部材は、左右のガータエクステンションと左右のリヤパネルエクステンションとの分割構造である。該左右のガータエクステンションの下端部は、前記左右のリヤパネルエクステンションに接合される構成である。左右のサイドインナパネルと左右のガータロアの上部とによって構成された閉断面に対して、左右のガータロアの下部と左右のガータエクステンションとによって構成された閉断面を、連続させることができる。このため、例えば、リヤパネル組立体に対して左右のサイドインナパネルと左右のガータスチフナとを接合したものを、車幅方向の外側から車幅中央側へ向けて組付ける場合であっても、生産性の向上を図ることができる。しかも、開口部の下縁から左右の側縁にわたって閉断面が連続するので、該開口部の剛性を確保することができる。さらには、左右のガータエクステンションと左右のリヤパネルエクステンションとが分割されているので、該左右のコーナインナ部材の生産性の向上を図ることができる。
 請求項13に係る発明では、左右のリヤパネルエクステンションは、左右のガータエクステンションよりも厚板で形成されたので、左右の下コーナ部の剛性を向上できる。また、左右のガータエクステンションは、左右のガータロアとによって閉断面を形成していることから、左右のリヤパネルエクステンションほど剛性が必要でない。そこで、比較的薄板で形成して車体の軽量化を図ることとした。
 請求項14に係る発明では、左右のコーナアウタ部材は、左右の下コーナ部近傍に配置されて左右のリヤコンビネーションランプを収納する左右のコンビパネルによって構成されている。つまり、該左右のコンビパネルが左右のコーナアウタ部材を兼ねることにより、別部材を追加する必要がなく、部品点数の削減を図ることができる。さらには、左右のコンビパネルが、本体部と左右のガータロアとに接合されたので、左右の下コーナ部の剛性の向上を図ることができる。
 請求項15に係る発明では、左右のコンビパネルは、記開口部の周縁に位置した車内側の左右のコンビインナと、該左右のコンビインナに対し車幅方向の外側に位置した左右のコンビサイドと、から成る。左右のコンビインナが、左右のコンビサイドよりも厚板によって成形されたので、荷重伝達性能の向上を図ることができる。また、左右のコンビサイドを薄板とすることによって、車体の軽量化を図ることができる。
 請求項16に係る発明では、左右のガータアッパは、左右のガータロアよりも厚板によって成形されている。このため、開口部の剛性が確保することができる。さらに、左右のガータロアは左右のコンビパネルによって補強されているので、薄板とすることによって、車体の軽量化を図ることができる。
 請求項17係る発明では、左右のリヤアウタパネルに複数のバルクヘッドを一体化することによって、部品点数の削減及びコストの低減を図ることができる。さらに、複数のバルクヘッドの後端は左右のリヤアウタパネルと一体に形成されているので、他の部品に接合する必要はない。従って、スポット溶接のスポットガンを挿入するための挿通孔を設けたり、接合用フランジを設ける必要がない。すなわち、左右のリヤアウタパネルの形状の簡素化を図ることができるとともに、左右のリヤアウタパネルの成形性の向上を図ることができる。さらには、複数のバルクヘッドの前端部は、屈曲部よりも車幅外側に位置するよう形成されている。このため、例えば、左右のリヤアウタパネルをプレス成形する場合に、該屈曲部を鈍角にすることができるので、成形性が向上する。
 請求項18に係る発明では、複数のバルクヘッドは、前端部から車幅外側に延びて左右のリヤインナ側部材に接合される前フランジを備えている。このため、左右のリヤアウタ側部材及びリヤインナ側部材で構成される閉断面の剛性の向上を図ることができる。例えば、前フランジを車幅外側に向ければ、プレス成形時の成形性の更なる向上を図ることができる。
 請求項19に係る発明では、リヤインナパネルに、本体部に対向する前壁と、前壁の上端及び下端からそれぞれ後方に屈曲した上壁及び下壁により形成されて車体後方側を向く開放部と、からなる多角断面部を備える。このため、複数のバルクヘッドに、上壁に沿うように形成される上端部と、下壁に沿うように形成される下端部とを備え、上端部から車幅外側に延びた上フランジが上壁に接合され、下端部から車幅外側に延びた下フランジが下壁に接合されるので、さらに閉断面の剛性を向上することができる。例えば、上及び下のフランジを車幅外側に向ければ、プレス成形時の成形性の更なる向上を図ることができる。
 請求項20に係る発明では、本体部の上端には、本体側上フランジが形成されている。複数のバルクヘッドの上フランジと本体側上フランジとの間には、上フランジ及び本体側上フランジを切り欠いて形成した、上の切欠部を備える。本体側上フランジに対して上フランジが連続している場合には、これらのフランジ同士が連続した部位を成形するのに、一般に深絞り加工を施すことになる。これに対し、複数のバルクヘッドの上フランジと本体側上フランジとの間を切り欠くことによって、リヤアウタパネルの成形性の向上を図ることができる。
 請求項19に係る発明では、本体部の下端には、本体側下フランジが形成されている。複数のバルクヘッドの下フランジと本体側下フランジとの間には、下フランジ及び本体側下フランジを切り欠いて形成した、下の切欠部を備える。本体側下フランジに対して下フランジが連続している場合には、これらのフランジ同士が連続した部位を成形するのに、一般に深絞り加工を施すことになる。これに対し、複数のバルクヘッドの下フランジと本体側下フランジとの間を切り欠くことによって、リヤアウタパネルの成形性の向上を図ることができる。
 請求項22に係る発明では、リヤインナパネルは、多角形断面部の下端から車体の後面に沿って下方へ延びた、縦板状の延長壁部を備えている。このため、多角形断面部が車内のフロアパネルよりも高い位置にある場合であっても、該フロアパネルとリヤパネル組立体との間を、延長壁部によって繋ぐことができる。リヤインナパネルに延長壁部を備えたので、リヤアウタパネルには延長壁部を設ける必要がない。該リヤアウタパネルは、複数のバルクヘッドが一体化されている、複雑な形状に形成されている。該リヤアウタパネルは、延長壁部を更に備える必要がないので、形状が更に複雑化しない。このため、該リヤアウタパネルの成形性の向上を図ることができる。しかも、素材から該リヤアウタパネルを切り取るときに、残材の量が少なくてすむ。すなわち、材料の歩留まりを改善することができる。

 本発明を実施するための形態を添付図に基づいて以下に説明する。
 実施例に係る車体後部構造について説明する。図1に示されるように、車両10は、車体11の後面14(リヤパネル14)にテイルゲート16を備えた、いわゆるハッチバック車であって、該車体11の後端近傍に左右の後輪18が配置されている。
 該車体11は、モノコックボディによって構成され、左右対称形に形成されている。車体11の後部は、該車体11の後面を構成するためのリヤパネル14と、該車体11の側面を構成するための左右のサイドパネル17と、該左右のサイドパネル17の後下部に設けられた左右のリヤホイールハウス21と、前記リヤパネル14の下に設けられたリヤバンパフェイス22と、から成る。
 該リヤパネル14の上部には、開口部15が形成されている。該開口部15は、車体外方から開閉自在なテイルゲート16によって覆われている。該テイルゲート16は、例えばガラス板によって構成される。該リヤパネル14の左右には、左右のリヤコンビネーションランプ23が配置されている。該左右のリヤコンビネーションランプ23は、車両10の制動状態や車両の進行方向を表示することが可能である。
 該リヤパネル14は、図2乃至図6に示されるリヤパネル組立体26と、左右のガータ組立体41と、リヤルーフレール42と、を含む。図2乃至図6に示されるように、開口部15は、リヤパネル組立体26と、左右のガータ組立体41と、リヤルーフレール42と、に囲まれることよって、車体11の後面14(リヤパネル14)に矩形状に形成されている。
 つまり、該開口部15の上縁15aは、車幅方向に延びるリヤルーフレール42によって形成されている。該開口部15の下縁15bは、前記リヤパネル組立体26によって形成されている。該開口部15の左右の側縁15c,15cは、左右のガータ組立体41,41によって形成されている。以下、リヤパネル組立体26と、左右のガータ組立体41と、リヤルーフレール42と、について詳しく説明する。
 該左右のガータ組立体41は、開口部15の左右の側縁15cに位置して、車体上下方向に延びた閉断面状の部材である。つまり、該左右のガータ組立体41は、上下方向に延びる左右のガータ閉断面部39(図11も参照)を構成している。
 該リヤルーフレール42は、開口部15の上縁15aに位置して車幅方向に延びている。該リヤルーフレール42の両端は、左右の上コーナ部31を介して左右のガータ組立体41の上端間に接合されている。
 該開口部15の左右の上コーナには、それぞれ上コーナ部31が位置している。該開口部15の左右の下コーナには、それぞれ下コーナ部32が位置している。該リヤパネル組立体26は、開口部15の下縁15bに位置し、車幅方向へ延びている。該リヤパネル組立体26の両端は、左右の下コーナ部32を介して左右のガータ組立体41の下端間に接合されている。
 図3及び図8に示されるように、リヤパネル組立体26は、車外側に位置して車幅方向に延びているリヤアウタ側部材28と、車内側(図8に示される車室12側)に位置して車幅方向に延びているリヤインナ側部材29と、から成る。つまり、リヤアウタ側部材28とリヤインナ側部材29とによって、車幅方向に延びる中空状の閉断面部27が構成される。該閉断面部27は、車体後部の開口部15の下縁15bに位置する。
 該リヤアウタ側部材28は、車幅中央のリヤアウタパネル33と左右のコンビインナアッパ98とから成る。該リヤアウタパネル33は、リヤアウタ側部材28のなかの車幅中央領域を構成するための部材である。該左右のコンビインナアッパ98は、該リヤアウタパネル33の左右に位置している左右のコーナアウタ部材35の、一部である。該左右のコーナアウタ部材35は、開口部15の左右の下コーナ部32を構成するための部材である。
 図3、図4及び図8に示されるように、該リヤインナ側部材29は、リヤインナパネル34と、左右のガータロア92の下部92aと、左右のリヤパネルエクステンション93と、左右のガータエクステンション94と、から成る。該リヤインナパネル34は、リヤインナ側部材29のなかの車幅中央領域を構成するための部材である。該左右のリヤパネルエクステンション93は、開口部15の左右の下コーナ部32(図3参照)を構成するための部材である。
 図2、図3及び図11に示されるように、左右のガータ組立体41は、互いに接合された、車内側の左右のインナ側壁部83と車外側の左右のガータスチフナ86とから成る。図11に示されるように、該左右のインナ側壁部83は、開口部15の左右の側縁15cに位置し、上下方向に延びている。
 図3及び図4に示されるように、該左右のガータスチフナ86は、互いに接合された左右のガータアッパ91と左右のガータロア92とから成る。該左右のガータアッパ91は、左右の上コーナ部31から左右のインナ側壁部83(図11参照)まで延びている。該左右のガータアッパ91は、左右のガータロア92よりも板厚が大きい、厚板によって成形されている。該左右のガータロア92は、左右のインナ側壁部83(図11参照)から左右の下コーナ部32まで延びている。左右のコーナアウタ部材35(左右のコンビパネル35)は、左右のガータロア92に車外側から重ねられ且つ接合されることにより、左右のガータ組立体41の一部を構成している。
 図2及び図11に示されるように、左右のサイドパネル17は、車外側に位置する左右のサイドアウタパネル43と、車内側に位置する左右のサイドインナパネル44とから成る。該左右のサイドアウタパネル43(リヤフェンダパネル43)は、車体11の側部に位置して、車体側部の外板面81(フェンダ外板面81又はアウタ側壁部81ともいう)を構成している。該左右のサイドインナパネル44は、サイドアウタパネル43の内側に位置して、車体側部の内壁19を構成している。該左右のサイドインナパネル44は、車体後部の開口部15の左右の側縁15cに位置する。
 図4、図10及び図12に示されるように、リヤアウタパネル33は、車幅中央に位置する本体部51と、左右の屈曲部52と、左右のバルクヘッド53と、から成る。
 該本体部51は、車体後面に対向するように位置する部材であって、該車体後面に沿って概ね縦板状に形成されている。図9に示されるように、本体部51の上端51aには、車体後方に延びた本体側上フランジ54が形成されている。本体部51の下端51bには、下方へ延びた本体側下フランジ55が形成されている。
 図9に示されるように、リヤインナパネル34は、該リヤインナパネル34の上端に多角形断面部64を備える。該多角形断面部64は、リヤインナパネル34から車体前方へ窪むとともに車幅方向に延びた、多角形断面(略U字状断面)の溝状に形成されており、本体部51により塞がれている。リヤアウタパネル33の本体部51と、リヤインナパネル34の多角形断面部64と、によって中央閉断面部66が構成されている。該中央閉断面部66は、閉断面部27(図8参照)の一部を成す。
 詳しく述べると、該多角形断面部64は、前記本体部51から車体前方へ最も離れている前壁56と、該前壁56の上端56aから車体後方へ延びた上壁57と、前記前壁56の下端56bから車体後方へ延びた下壁58と、から成る。上壁57の後端には、該後端から下方へ延びた段部59と、該段部59の下端から車体後方へ延びたインナ側上フランジ61と、が形成されている。該インナ側上フランジ61は、本体部51の本体側上フランジ54に接合されている。
 さらに、該リヤインナパネル34は、延長壁部63と補強部65(図6参照)とを備えている。図3及び図9に示されるように、該延長壁部63は、多角形断面部64の下端、つまり下壁58の後端から車体11の後面に沿って下方へ延びた、縦板状の部材である。該補強部65は、延長壁部63の強度及び剛性の向上を図る部材であって、延長壁部63の車幅中央から車体後方へ膨出するように形成され、車体上下方向に延びている。
 図4に示されるように、該リヤインナ側部材29は、車内側に膨出する左右の膨出部104を有する。該膨出部104は、リヤインナパネル34の多角形断面部64(図12参照)と、リヤパネルエクステンション93と、によって構成されている。
 図4、図8、図10及び図12に示されるように、該左右の屈曲部52は、本体部51の車幅方向の外側端部から車体前方へ折れ曲がった部位である。該左右(複数)のバルクヘッド53は、左右の屈曲部52から左右のリヤインナパネル34に向かって前方へ延び、閉断面部27を車幅方向に仕切るように配置されている。つまり、リヤアウタ側部材28とリヤインナ側部材29とによって閉断面状に形成されている、リヤパネル組立体26の内部は、複数のバルクヘッド53によって車幅方向に仕切られている。
 図10に示されるように、各バルクヘッド53は、バルクヘッド本体71と、前端部72と、上端部73と、下端部74と、によって各々構成されている。
 該バルクヘッド本体71は、リヤアウタパネル33の本体部51に対し、屈曲部52(車幅方向の外端部52)から車体前方へ折り曲げられることによって、形成された部分である。バルクヘッド本体71の中央領域には、略三角形の開口75が開けられている。該バルクヘッド本体71に略三角形の開口75が開けられることにより、バルクヘッド53の軽量化を図ることができる。
 該バルクヘッド53の前端部72は、多角形断面部64の前壁56(図9参照)に沿うように形成されており、屈曲部52よりも車幅方向の外側に位置している。該前端部72は、車幅方向の外側へ延びた前フランジ72aを有する。該前フランジ72aは、リヤインナ側部材29(図3参照)に接合されている。
 該バルクヘッド53の該上端部73は、多角形断面部64の上壁57(図9参照)に沿うように形成されており、上フランジ73aを有する。該上フランジ73aは、上端部73から車幅方向の外側に延びて、多角形断面部64の上壁57に接合されている。
 該バルクヘッド53の該下端部74は、多角形断面部64の下壁58(図9参照)に沿うように形成されており、下フランジ74aを有する。該下フランジ74aは、下端部74から車幅方向の外側へ延びて、多角形断面部64の下壁58に接合されている。
 図12に示されるように、本体部51とバルクヘッド53とのなす角度θ1は、鈍角である。つまり、バルクヘッド53は、前端部72が屈曲部52よりも車幅外側に位置するように傾いている。
 図10に示されるように、リヤアウタパネル33の車幅方向の両側には、下方へ窪んだ上の切欠部76と、上方へ窪んだ左右の下の切欠部77と、がそれぞれ形成されている。より詳しく述べると、該左右の「上の切欠部76」は、左右のバルクヘッド53の上フランジ73aと、本体側上フランジ54の車幅方向の両端と、の間に形成されている。該左右の「下の切欠部77」は、左右のバルクヘッド53の下フランジ74aと、本体側下フランジ55との車幅方向の両端と、の間に形成されている。
 図2及び図11に示される上記左右のサイドパネル17の構成について、詳しく説明する。左右のサイドパネル17のサイドインナパネル44は、左右のインナ側壁部83と左右のインナ後壁部84とから成る、一体成形品である。該左右のインナ側壁部83は、車体前後方向に延びている縦板状の部材である。該左右のインナ後壁部84は、該左右のインナ側壁部83の後端から車幅中央側へ屈曲した縦板状の部材である。
 左右のサイドパネル17のサイドアウタパネル43は、アウタ側壁部81とアウタ後壁部82とから成る、一体成形品である。該アウタ側壁部81の前端は、インナ側壁部83の前端に接合されている。該左右のアウタ側壁部81は、左右のインナ側壁部83に対し車幅方向の外側へ間隔をあけて位置し、前後方向に延びた縦板状の部材であって、該左右のインナ側壁部83の前端から車幅外側へ所定の距離だけ延び、該延びた端から車体後方へ延びている。該左右のアウタ後壁部82は、左右のアウタ側壁部81の後端から車幅中央側へ屈曲して、左右のインナ後壁部84に接合されている。
 図11に示されるように、左右のサイドパネル17には、左右のガータスチフナ86が設けられている。該左右のガータスチフナ86は、左右のアウタ側壁部81と左右のインナ側壁部83とによって囲まれた内部に位置し、車体上下方向に延びている部材であり、左右のサイドインナパネル44に接合されている。該左右のガータスチフナ86は、左右のサイドインナパネル44の外面側に向かって開放された平面視略U字状に形成されるとともに、開放端が左右のインナ側壁部83の外面(サイドインナパネル44の外面)に接合されている。この結果、左右のインナ側壁部83と左右のガータスチフナ86とによって、車体上下方向へ延びた閉断面状の左右のガータ閉断面体39が構成される。該左右のガータ閉断面部39は、左右のアウタ側壁部81と左右のインナ側壁部83との間に位置して、車体上下方向に延びている。
 図4及び図21に示されるように、リヤホイールハウス21、サイドインナパネル44、ガータエクステンション94、及びガータ用ガセット115を、主要な構成要素として、サイドパネル組立体37が構成されている。
 図3及び図4に示されるように、左右の上コーナ部31は、左右の上コーナブラケット101と、該左右の上コーナブラケット101に被せられる左右のガータアッパ91の上部91aと、から成る。該左右の上コーナブラケット101には、車幅方向に延びているリヤルーフレール42の両端が接合されている。
 左右の下コーナ部32は、車外側の左右のコーナアウタ部材35(図3参照)と、車内側の左右のコーナインナ部材36(図4参照)と、から成る。該左右のコーナアウタ部材35は、リヤアウタパネル33の本体部51と、左右のガータロア92とに接合されている。図4に示されるように、該左右のコーナインナ部材36は、左右のガータロア92に接合されている。該左右のコーナアウタ部材35と左右のコーナインナ部材36とによって、左右の下コーナ閉断面部67(図3参照)が構成されている。図3、図13及び図14に示されるように、該左右の下コーナ閉断面部67は、それぞれ、上側の閉断面部67aと、該上側の閉断面部67aの下端に連なる下側の閉断面部67bとから成る。
 図3及び図4に示されるように、該左右の「下側の閉断面部67b」は、リヤパネルエクステンション93と、ガータエクステンション94と、コンビインナアッパ98と、によって、それぞれ閉断面に構成されている。前記閉断面部27は、上記中央閉断面部66と、該中央閉断面部66に連なる下コーナ閉断面部67のなかの下側の閉断面部67bと、の組み合わせによって構成されている。つまり、該中央閉断面部66と該左右の「下側の閉断面部67b」とは、連続的に構成されている。
 図4に示されるように、左右のコーナインナ部材36は、左右のリヤパネルエクステンション93と左右のガータエクステンション94とから成る。該左右のリヤパネルエクステンション93は、左右のガータエクステンション94よりも板厚が大きい厚板によって形成されており、リヤインナパネル34から車幅方向の外側へ延びている。該左右のガータエクステンション94の上端部94aは、左右のガータロア92の車内側の面に接合されている。該左右のガータエクステンション94の下端部94bは、左右のリヤパネルエクステンション93に接合されている。
 図3及び図4に示されるように、左右の下コーナ閉断面部67の上側の閉断面部67aは、左右のガータロア92と、左右のガータエクステンション94の上端部94aと、によって、閉断面状に形成されている。図3に示されるように、該上側の閉断面部67aは、ガータ閉断面部39(図11参照)に接合されている。このように、該上側の閉断面部67aは、ガータロア92を含んでいるので、ガータ閉断面部39の一部とみることができる。
 次に、図3、図7及び図8に示される左右のコーナアウタ部材35について説明する。左右のコーナアウタ部材35は、左右の下コーナ部32(開口部15の周縁)の近傍に位置しており、左右のコンビパネル35によって構成されている。つまり、左右のコーナアウタ部材35は、左右のコンビパネル35と同一部材である。以下、該左右のコーナアウタ部材35のことを、適宜「左右のコンビパネル35」と言い換える。左右のコンビパネル35は、開口部15の周縁に配置されている左右のリヤコンビネーションランプ23(図1参照)を収納する部材であり、開口部15の左右の下コーナ部32の近傍に配置されている。
 以下、左のコーナアウタ部材35について、詳しく説明する。右のコーナアウタ部材35は、左のコーナアウタ部材35に対して左右対称形に形成されているので、同一符号を付し、説明を省略する。
 該左のコンビパネル35は、開口部15の周縁に位置した車内側の左のコンビインナ95と、該左のコンビインナ95に対し車幅方向の外側に位置した左のコンビサイド96と、から成る。該コンビインナ95は、コンビサイド96よりも板厚が大きい厚板によって形成され、下コーナ部32に配置されている。該コンビインナ95は、下半分のコンビインナアッパ98と、上半分のコンビインナロア99と、から成る。さらに、左のコンビパネル35は、リヤコンビエクステンション97を有している。該リヤコンビエクステンション97は、コンビインナ95及びコンビサイド96から、車体前方へ延びている。
 該左のコンビパネル35は、リヤアウタパネル33の本体部51の車幅方向の端に接合されるとともに、ガータロア92の下部に接合されている。詳しく述べると、コンビインナアッパ98は、本体部51とガータロア92とに接合されている。コンビインナロア99は、本体部51に接合されている。
 図1及び図8に示されるように、左右のリヤホイールハウス21は、左右の後輪18の上半分を覆う部材であり、リヤパネル組立体26よりも前に位置して、左右の車体側部の内壁19(車室12を形成するための、左右の内側の壁19)の一部を構成している。つまり、図8に示されるように、左右のリヤホイールハウス21は、リヤパネル組立体26の前端に近接している(隣接を含む)。さらに、該左右のリヤホイールハウス21は、左右のリヤサスペンション用ダンパ48(以下、単に「リヤダンパ48」という。)の上端部を支持するための、左右の支持部49(ダンパ支持部49)を有している。該左右のリヤサスペンションは、左右のリヤホイールハウス21に左右の後輪18を懸下する装置である。
 詳しく述べると、図2、図4及び図8に示されるように、左右のリヤホイールハウス21は、互いに接合された、車外側の左右のホイールハウスアウタ45と、車内側の左右のホイールハウスインナ46と、から成る。該左右のホイールハウスアウタ45は、左右のサイドインナパネル44(図3参照)に接合されている。該左右のホイールハウスインナ46は、車体側部の内壁19を構成するとともに、支持部49を有する。
 図15、図16乃至図18に示されるように、左右のホイールハウスインナ46には、左右のリヤダンパ48を支持するための左右のダンパベース111と、該左右のダンパベース111から車体後方に延びた左右のホイールハウスエクステンション112と、が設けられている。該左右のダンパベース111は、左右のリヤダンパ48を支持するための左右の支持部49を有する。図17に示されるように、該左右のホイールハウスエクステンション112は、左右のコンビパネル35のコンビインナロア99と、左右のダンパベース111と、の間に略水平に設けられている。
 図15に示されるように、リヤホイールハウス21とリヤパネル組立体26との、各々の車内側の角部118には、パネル用ガセット114(第1のガセット114)とガータ用ガセット115(第2のガセット115)とが設けられている。
 図15、図18及び図21に示されるように、該左右のパネル用ガセット114は、左右のリヤホイールハウス21と、リヤパネル組立体26のリヤインナパネル34と、左右の下コーナ部32の各リヤパネルエクステンション93と、を連結するための部材である。
 詳しく述べると、該左右のパネル用ガセット114は、左右のリヤホイールハウス21に接合された各一端部114aから、車体後方へ且つ車幅中央へ向かって傾きながら延び、該延びた各他端部114bがリヤパネル組立体26に接合されている。リヤパネル組立体26に対して、左右のパネル用ガセット114の他端部114bが接合される部位は、該リヤパネル組立体26に対して複数の(左右の)バルクヘッド53が配置される部位又は該部位の近傍に位置している。さらに、該左右のパネル用ガセット114の各一端部114aは、左右のガータ用ガセット115の車幅中央側の端部115dに接合されている。
 図15、図17及び図18に示されるように、該左右のガータ用ガセット115は、左右のリヤホイールハウス21と左右のガータ組立体41とを連結するための部材である。詳しく述べると、該左右のガータ用ガセット115の各一端部115aは、左右のリヤホイールハウス21のホイールハウスインナ46に対して、直接に又は左右のダンパベース111を介して接合されている。さらに、該左右のガータ用ガセット115は、各一端部115aから車体上方へ延び、該延びた上端部分を、他端部115bとしている。該左右の他端部115bは、左右のガータ組立体41に対して直接に、又は左右のコンビインナアッパ98とガータエクステンション94とを介して接合されている。左右のガータ用ガセット115の車幅方向外側の端部115cは、左右のホイールハウスインナ46に接合されている。
 このように、該ガータ用ガセット115は、左右のコンビインナアッパ98と、左右のコンビインナロア99と、左右のホイールハウスインナ46と、左右のダンパベース111と、左右のホイールハウスエクステンション112と、に接合されている。
 図15に示されるように、左右のリヤホイールハウス21とリヤパネル組立体26との、各々の車内側の角部118には、左右のガセット閉断面部117が設けられている。該左右のガセット閉断面部117は、リヤパネル組立体26及び左右のコンビパネル35によって形成される左右の後壁と、左右のリヤホイールハウス21により形成されて車幅方向外側に位置する外壁と、左右のパネル用ガセット114により形成されて車幅方向内側に位置する内壁と、左右のガータ用ガセット115により形成される前壁と、によって平面視で閉断面状に構成されている
 次に、車体11の後部の製造手順について、図7、図19乃至図21を参照しつつ説明する。先ず、図7に示されるコンビコンポーネント35(つまり、コンビパネル35)と、図19及び図20に示されるリヤパネルコンポーネント121と、図21に示されるサイドコンポーネント37と、を別々に組み立てる。
 図7に示されるように、コンビコンポーネント35は、コンビインナ95と、コンビサイド96と、リヤコンビエクステンション97と、から成る。
 図19及び図20に示されるように、リヤパネルコンポーネント121は、リヤアウタパネル33(リヤアウタ側部材28の一部)と、リヤインナパネル34(リヤインナ側部材29の一部)と、リヤパネルエクステンション93と、パネル用ガセット114と、から成る。
 図21に示されるように、サイドコンポーネント37(サイドパネル組立体37)は、サイドインナパネル44と、ホイールハウスアウタ45(図11参照)と、ホイールハウスインナ46と、ガータエクステンション94と、上コーナブラケット101と、ガータ用ガセット115と、から成る。
 次に、製造ラインにおいて、コンビコンポーネント35と、サイドコンポーネント37と、リヤパネルコンポーネント121と、を互いに組み立てる。
 最後に、互いに組立られた、コンビコンポーネント35とサイドコンポーネント37とリヤパネルコンポーネント121とに、サイドアウタパネル43を取り付けて、製造作業を完了する。
 次に、車体11の後部の荷重伝達作用について、図22及び図23に基づき説明する。図22は、左右のリヤダンパ48から左右の支持部49へ伝わった荷重Fc(ダンパ荷重Fc)が、リヤパネル組立体26に伝達される状態を示している。
 該ダンパ荷重Fcは、矢印a1のように、左右のリヤダンパ48から左右のダンパベース111と左右のパネル用ガセット114とを介して、リヤパネル組立体26に伝わる。該リヤパネル組立体26に伝わったダンパ荷重Fcは、矢印a2のように、リヤアウタパネル33に一体形成されている左右のバルクヘッド53に伝わり、さらに、矢印a3のように、リヤアウタパネル33の本体部51に伝わる。また、パネル用ガセット114に伝わったダンパ荷重Fcは、矢印a4のように、該左右のパネル用ガセット114からリヤインナパネル34にも伝わる。
 このように、左右のパネル用ガセット114は、左右のリヤダンパ48から左右のダンパ支持部49へ伝わった荷重Fc(ダンパ荷重Fc)を、左右のリヤホイールハウス21からリヤパネル組立体26へ効率良く円滑に伝えて、分散することができる。従って、左右のリヤホイールハウス21の車幅方向の曲げ剛性を、車幅方向に延びているリヤパネル組立体26によって高めるとともに、左右のダンパ支持部49の剛性を高めることができる。この結果、車体11全体の剛性を一層高めることができる。また、車体11の外部からリヤパネル組立体26に作用した外力(主に車幅方向の外力)を、左右のパネル用ガセット114によって、左右のリヤホイールハウス21に効率良く円滑に伝えて分散することができる。この結果、車体11全体の剛性を一層高めることができる。さらに、左右のパネル用ガセット114は、車体11側部の内壁19の一部を構成している左右のリヤホイールハウス21と、車幅方向に延びているリヤパネル組立体26と、のコーナに配置することが可能である。このため、車内スペースを極力確保することができる。
 また、左右のリヤダンパ48からダンパベース111に伝わったダンパ荷重Fc(主に上下方向の荷重)は、図23に示された矢印b1のように、左右のガータ用ガセット115に伝わる。該左右のガータ用ガセット115に伝わったダンパ荷重Fcは、矢印b2のように、左右のコンビパネル35の左右のコンビインナ95に伝わる。該左右のコンビインナ95に伝わったダンパ荷重Fcは、矢印b3のように左右のガータエクステンション94を介して、左右のガータ組立体41(図3参照)に伝わる。
 このように、左右のガータ用ガセット115は、左右のリヤダンパ48から左右のダンパ支持部49へ伝わった上下方向の荷重Fc(ダンパ荷重Fc)を、左右のリヤホイールハウス21から左右のガータ組立体41へ効率良く円滑に分散することができる。従って、左右のリヤホイールハウス21及び左右のダンパ支持部49の剛性を高めることができる。この結果、車体11全体の剛性を一層高めることができる。また、車体11の外部から左右のガータ組立体41に作用した外力(主に上下方向の外力)を、左右のガータ用ガセット115によって、左右のリヤホイールハウス21に効率良く円滑に伝えて分散することができる。従って、左右のガータ組立体41の剛性を高めることができるので、開口部15の左右の側縁15cの剛性が高まる。この結果、車体11全体の剛性を一層高めることができる。
 さらには、図18及び図23に示されるように、ガータ用ガセット115は、リヤホイールハウス21に接合される一端部115aから上方に延びて、他端部115bがコンビパネル35及びガータエクステンション94を介してガータ組立体41側に接合されたので、ガータ組立体41(ガータ閉断面部39)の長手方向に渡って円滑に荷重伝達することができる。これにより、荷重伝達効率の向上を図ることができる。
 さらには、図18及び図22に示されるように、パネル用ガセット114の一端部114aが、ガータ用ガセット115の車幅中央側端部115dに接合されるので、リヤダンパ48の支持部49近傍の剛性をより向上させることができる。また、リヤダンパ48に入力される荷重の入力方向によらず、荷重をリヤパネル組立体26とガータ組立体41とに伝達することができる。これにより、荷重伝達効率の向上を図ることができる。
 さらには、図15及び図16に示されるように、開口部15の周縁(下コーナ部)32に配置されるリヤコンビネーションランプ23を収納するコンビパネル35を備え、ガータ用ガセット115の車幅外側端部115cが、リヤホイールハウス21に接合され、リヤパネル組立体26及びコンビパネル35が後壁となり、リヤホイールハウス21が車幅外側壁となり、パネル用ガセット114が車幅内側壁となり、ガータ用ガセット115が前壁となって、リヤパネル組立体26とリヤホイールハウス21との角部118にガセット閉断面部117を構成するので、車体剛性の向上を図ることができる。特に、リヤパネル組立体26とリヤホイールハウス21との角部118にガセット閉断面部117が構成されるため、車体11の捩り剛性が大幅に向上する。
 さらには、図3、図4及び図15に示されるように、リヤパネル組立体26が、車外側のリヤアウタ側部材28と、車内側のリヤインナ側部材29とにより車幅方向に延びる閉断面部27を構成するとともに、閉断面部27を車幅方向に複数に仕切るように配置されるバルクヘッド53を備える。
 パネル用ガセット114の他端部114bが、バルクヘッド53が配置される部位の近傍に接合されるので、パネル用ガセット114からの荷重をリヤインナ側部材29のみではなく、リヤパネル組立体26の全体に荷重伝達できる。これにより、荷重伝達効率の向上を図ることができる。
 さらには、図18に示されるように、コンビパネル35が、ガータ組立体41の構成の一部を担う。通常ガータ組立体41を構成するパネルとは別に、リヤコンビネーションランプ23が収納されるコンビパネル35が形成される。コンビパネル35が、ガータ組立体41の構成の一部を担うので、パネルの枚数を少なくすることができる。この結果、部品点数の削減を図ることができる。
 さらには、図3及び図7に示されるように、コンビパネル35は、開口部15の周縁(下コーナ部)32に配置されるコンビインナ95と、コンビインナ95の車幅外側に配置されるコンビサイド96と、を有する。コンビインナ95は、コンビサイド96よりも厚板で成形されるので、コンビサイド96の荷重伝達性能の向上を図ることができる。この結果、荷重伝達性能の向上と車体重量の軽量化との両立を図ることができる。
 さらには、図2、図3及び図11に示されるように、車体後部の開口部15の左右の側縁15cに配置されて車体側部の内壁19を構成するサイドインナパネル44と、サイドインナパネル44の外側に配置されて車体側部の外板面を構成するサイドアウタパネル43と、を備える。
 サイドインナパネル44は、車体前後方向に延びるインナ側壁部83と、インナ側壁部83の後端から車幅中央側に屈曲するインナ後壁部84と、から構成されたので、車室(車内)12側に膨出することはない。すなわち、車内スペースを十分に確保することができる。
 サイドアウタパネル43が、インナ側壁部83から車幅外側に所定距離離間した位置で前後方向に延びるアウタ側壁部(フェンダ外板面)81と、アウタ側壁部81から車幅中央側に屈曲して、インナ後壁部84に接合されるアウタ後壁部82と、から構成されたので、例えば、別々の部品を継ぎ足して骨格を形成する場合に比べ、部品点数の削減を図ることができる。
 サイドインナパネル44の車外側面に接合されて、サイドインナパネル44から車外側に膨出し、インナ側壁部83とアウタ側壁部81との間で上下方向に延びる閉断面(ガータ閉断面)39を構成するガータスチフナ86を備えたので、車体後部の開口部15の剛性の向上を図ることができる。
 さらには、図3及び図11に示されるように、開口部15が、下縁15bに配置されて車幅方向に延びるリヤパネル組立体26と、上縁15aに配置されて車幅方向に延びるリヤルーフレール42と、左右の側縁15cに配置されて上下方向に延ばされ、インナ側壁部83及びガータスチフナ86で構成されるガータ組立体41と、により矩形状に形成されるとともに、リヤパネル組立体26とガータ組立体41との接続部分である下コーナ部32と、リヤルーフレール42とガータ組立体41との間に設けられる上コーナ部31と、を備える。
 ガータスチフナ86に、インナ側壁部83から下コーナ部32にまで延びるよう形成されたガータロア92と、インナ側壁部83から上コーナ部31にまで延びるよう形成されたガータアッパ91と、を備えたので、ガータスチフナ86で閉断面(ガータ閉断面39)を上及び下コーナ部31,32にまで連続させることができる。例えば、ガータスチフナ86を上及び下コーナ部31,32に追従するような形状としても、ガータアッパ91とガータロア92とで分割しているので、ガータスチフナ86の成形性を保つことができる。
 さらには、図3及び図4に示されるように、リヤパネル組立体26が、車内12側に膨出する膨出部104を有するリヤインナ側部材29と、膨出部104の車外側に接合される本体部51を有するリヤアウタ側部材28と、により車幅方向に延びる閉断面部27を構成する。
 下コーナ部32に、車内側に配置されてガータロア92が接合されるコーナインナ部材36と、下コーナ部32において車外側に配置されて本体部51とガータロア92とに接合されるとともに、コーナインナ部材36に接合されてコーナインナ部材36との間に閉断面(下コーナ閉断面)67を構成するコーナアウタ部材35と、を備えた。
 開口部15の下縁15bを構成するリヤパネル組立体26においては、車内12側に配置されたリヤインナ側部材29を膨出させて閉断面部27を構成し、開口部15の左右の側縁15cを構成するサイドインナパネル44及びガータスチフナ86においては、車外側に配置されたガータスチフナ86を膨出させて閉断面(ガータ閉断面)39を構成しているため、開口部15の下コーナ部32において閉断面を連続させることが困難である。
 そこで、コーナインナ部材36とコーナアウタ部材35とを配置して閉断面(下コーナ閉断面)67を構成することで、開口部15の下縁15bから左右の側縁15cに亘って中央閉断面部66、下コーナ閉断面部67及びガータ閉断面部39を連続させることができる。よって、左右の側縁15cの閉断面(ガータ閉断面)39をサイドインナパネル44の車外側で形成する場合においても車両の後部車体の剛性の向上を図ることができる。
 さらには、図3及び図4に示されるように、リヤアウタ側部材28に、車幅中央領域を構成するリヤアウタパネル33を備え、リヤインナ側部材29に、車幅中央領域を構成するリヤインナパネル34を備え、コーナインナ部材36に、リヤインナパネル34から車幅外方に延びるリヤパネルエクステンション93と、上端部94aがガータロア92の車内12側に接合されてガータロア92との間に閉断面(下コーナ閉断面)67の上部67aを構成するとともに、下端部94bがリヤパネルエクステンション93に接合されるガータエクステンション94とを備える。
 サイドインナパネル44の車外側にて閉断面(ガータ閉断面)39を構成するガータロア92の車内12側に、ガータエクステンション94を設け、ガータロア92の下部92bとガータエクステンション94とで閉断面(下コーナ閉断面)67の上部67aが形成される。すなわち、サイドインナパネル44とガータロア92の上部92aとで構成した閉断面(ガータ閉断面)39と、ガータロア92の下部92bとガータエクステンション94とで構成した閉断面(下コーナ閉断面)67の上部67aとを連続させることができる。
 例えば、リヤパネル組立体26に対してサイドインナパネル44とガータスチフナ86とを接合したものを車幅外側から車幅中央側に向けて組付ける場合であっても、ガータエクステンション94とリヤパネルエクステンション93とで分割してコーナインナ部材36を構成しているので、生産性の向上を図ることができる。
 すなわち、開口部15の下縁15bから側縁15cに亘って閉断面(中央閉断面部66、下コーナ閉断面部67及びガータ閉断面部39)を連続したので、車体後部の開口部15の剛性を確保することができるとともに、コーナインナ部材36をガータエクステンション94とリヤパネルエクステンション93とで分割構成したので、生産性の向上を図ることができる。
 さらには、図3、図4及び図6に示されるように、リヤパネルエクステンション93が、ガータエクステンション94よりも厚板で形成されたので、下コーナ部32の剛性を向上できる。また、ガータエクステンション94は、ガータロア92と閉断面(下コーナ閉断面)67の上部67aを形成していることからリヤパネルエクステンション93ほど剛性が必要でない。そこで、比較的薄板で形成して車体11の軽量化を図ることとした。
 さらには、図2及び図3に示されるように、コーナアウタ部材35が、下コーナ部32近傍に配置されてリヤコンビネーションランプ23(図1参照)を収納するコンビパネルであり、コンビパネル35をコーナアウタ部材35と兼用することで、別部材を追加する必要がなく、部品点数の削減を図ることができる。コンビパネル35が、本体部51とガータロア92とに接合されたので、下コーナ部32の剛性の向上を図ることができる。
 さらには、図3及び図7に示されるように、コンビパネル35に、開口部15の周縁(下コーナ部)32に配置されるコンビインナ95と、コンビインナ95の車幅外側に配置されるコンビサイド96と、を有する。
 コンビインナ95が、コンビサイド96よりも厚板で成形されたので、荷重伝達性能の向上を図ることができる。また、コンビサイド96を薄板とすることで、車体11の軽量化を図ることができる。
 さらには、図3及び図11に示されるように、ガータアッパ91が、ガータロア92よりも厚板で成形される。
 ガータスチフナ86の閉断面(ガータ閉断面)39をサイドインナパネル44の車幅外側に形成している。そのため、閉断面(ガータ閉断面)39の大きさが制限され、車体後部の開口部15の剛性が確保できないことが懸念される。そこで、ガータアッパ91の板厚をガータロア92と比較して厚くすることで、剛性を確保することができる。さらに、ガータロア92廻りはコンビパネル35で補強されているため、ガータロア92の板厚を薄くして軽量化している。
 さらには、図2乃至図4に示されるように、車体後部の開口部15の下縁15bで車幅方向に延びる閉断面部27を構成するリヤアウタ側部材28及びリヤインナ側部材29を備える。リヤアウタ側部材28に、車幅中央領域を構成するリヤアウタパネル33を備え、リヤインナ側部材29に、車幅中央領域を構成するリヤインナパネル34を備える。
 リヤアウタパネル33に、車体11の前後面に対向する面を形成する本体部51と、本体部51の車幅外側端部に形成された屈曲部52と、屈曲部52からリヤインナパネル34に向けて前方に延び、閉断面部27を車幅方向に複数に仕切るように配置されるバルクヘッド53と、を備える。すなわち、リヤアウタパネル33にバルクヘッド53を一体化することによって、部品点数の削減及びコストの低減を図ることができる。さらに、バルクヘッド53の後端がリヤアウタパネル33と一体であるので、他の部品に接合する必要がない。従って、スポットガンの挿通孔を設けたり、接合用のフランジを設ける必要がない。すなわち、リヤアウタパネル33の形状の簡素化を図ることができるとともに、リヤアウタパネル33の成形性の向上を図ることができる。
 バルクヘッド53が、前端部72が屈曲部52よりも車幅外側に位置するよう形成されるので、例えば、リヤアウタパネル33をプレス成形する時に屈曲部52を鈍角にすることができ、成形性が向上する。
 さらには、図9及び図10に示されるように、バルクヘッド53に、前端部72から車幅外側に延びてリヤインナ側部材29に接合される前フランジ72aを備えたので、リヤアウタ側部材28及びリヤインナ側部材29で構成される閉断面部27の剛性の向上を図ることができる。例えば、前フランジ72aを車幅外側に向ければ、プレス成形時の成形性のさらなる向上を図ることができる。
 さらには、図9及び図10に示されるように、リヤインナパネル34に、本体部51に対向する前壁56と、前壁56の上端56a及び下端56bからそれぞれ後方に屈曲した上壁57及び下壁58により形成されて車体後方側を向く開放部62と、からなる多角形断面部64を備える。
 バルクヘッド53に、上壁57に沿うように形成される上端部73と、下壁58に沿うように形成される下端部74とを備え、上端部73から車幅外側に延びた上フランジ73aが上壁57に接合され、下端部74から車幅外側に延びた下フランジ74aが下壁58に接合されるので、さらに閉断面部27の剛性を向上することができる。例えば、上及び下のフランジ73a,74aを車幅外側に向ければ、プレス成形時の成形性のさらなる向上を図ることができる。
 さらには、図9及び図10に示されるように、本体部51の上端51aに形成された本体側上フランジ54を備え、リヤアウタパネル33に、バルクヘッド53の上フランジ73aと本体側上フランジ54との間に、上フランジ73a及び本体側上フランジ54を切り欠いて形成した上の切欠部76を備える。例えば、上フランジ73aと本体側上フランジ54との間に連続的にフランジを形成する場合、この部位のフランジは深絞りとなる部分のため成形し難い。よって、この部位を切り欠くことで、リヤアウタパネル33の成形性の向上を図ることができる。
 さらには、図9及び図10に示されるように、本体部51の下端51bに形成された本体側下フランジ55を備え、リヤアウタパネル33に、バルクヘッド53の下フランジ74aと本体側下フランジ55との間に、下フランジ74a及び本体側下フランジ55を切り欠いて形成した下の切欠部77を備える。例えば、下フランジ74aと本体側下フランジ55との間に連続的にフランジを形成する場合、この部位のフランジは深絞りとなる部分のため成形し難い。よって、この部位を切り欠くことで、リヤアウタパネル33の成形性の向上を図ることができる。
 さらには、図3、図9及び図10に示されるように、リヤインナパネル34に、閉断面部27から下方に延びる延長壁部63を備える。例えば、車体11のデザインによっては車体後部の開口部15の下縁15bの閉断面部27と車体フロアとの間が離間するため、リヤアウタパネル33の下端を閉断面部27より下方にまで延長して、車体フロアとの間を繋ぐ延長壁部63を形成することがある。リヤアウタパネル33にバルクヘッド53を一体化し、さらに、リヤアウタパネル33に延長壁部63を形成する場合には、リヤアウタパネル33の成形性の低下や、リヤアウタパネル33の歩留まりが悪化することが懸念される。そこで、リヤインナパネル34に延長壁部63を設けることで、リヤアウタパネル33の成形性や歩留まりを改善することができる。
 なお、本発明では、図1に示されるように、開口部15にリヤガラス16を開閉自在に取付けた車両10に採用されたが、これに限るものではない。例えば、開口部15にガラス板を嵌め込む形式の車両に採用することが可能である。
 本発明の車体後部構造は、セダンやワゴンなどの乗用車に採用するのに好適である。

Claims (22)

  1.  車体の後面に形成されている開口部と、該開口部の下縁に位置して車幅方向に延びている閉断面状のリヤパネル組立体と、該リヤパネル組立体よりも前に位置して車体側部の内壁の一部を構成する左右のリヤホイールハウスと、を備え、該左右のリヤホイールハウスは、左右のリヤサスペンション用ダンパを支持するための左右の支持部を有している車体後部構造において、
     前記リヤパネル組立体と前記左右のリヤホイールハウスとを連結するための、左右のパネル用ガセットを更に備え、
     該左右のパネル用ガセットは、前記左右のリヤホイールハウスに接合された各一端部から、車体後方へ且つ車幅中央へ向かって傾きながら延び、該延びた各他端部が前記リヤパネル組立体に接合されている、ことを特徴とする車体後部構造。
  2.  前記開口部の左右の側縁に位置して、車体上下方向に延びた閉断面状の左右のガータ組立体と、
     該左右ガータ組立体と前記左右リヤホイールハウスとを連結するための左右のガータ用ガセットと、を更に備える、請求項1記載の車体後部構造。
  3.  前記左右のガータ用ガセットは、前記左右のリヤホイールハウスに接合された各一端部から車体上方へ延び、該延びた各他端部が前記ガータ組立体に接合されている、請求項2記載の車体後部構造。
  4.  前記左右のパネル用ガセットの各一端部は、前記左右のガータ用ガセットの車幅中央側の端部に接合されている、請求項3記載の車体後部構造。
  5.  前記開口部の周縁に配置されている左右のリヤコンビネーションランプを収納するための左右のコンビパネルと、
     前記左右のリヤホイールハウスと前記リヤパネル組立体との角部に設けられる左右のガセット閉断面部と、を更に備え、
     前記左右のガータ用ガセットの車幅方向外側の端部は、前記左右のリヤホイールハウスに接合され、
     前記左右のガセット閉断面部は、
     前記リヤパネル組立体及び前記左右のコンビパネルによって形成される左右の後壁と、
     左右のリヤホイールハウスにより形成されて車幅方向外側に位置する外壁と、
     前記左右のパネル用ガセットにより形成されて車幅方向内側に位置する内壁と、
     前記左右のガータ用ガセットにより形成される前壁と、によって平面視で閉断面状に構成されている、請求項4記載の車体後部構造。
  6.  前記リヤパネル組立体は、車外側に位置して車幅方向に延びているリヤアウタ側部材と、車内側に位置して車幅方向に延びているリヤインナ側部材と、から成り、
     前記リヤアウタ側部材と前記リヤインナ側部材とによって閉断面状に形成されている、前記リヤパネル組立体の内部は、複数のバルクヘッドによって車幅方向に仕切られ、
     前記リヤパネル組立体に対して、前記左右のパネル用ガセットの前記他端部が接合される部位は、前記リヤパネル組立体に対して前記複数のバルクヘッドが配置される部位又は該部位の近傍に位置している、請求項1乃至5のいずれか1項記載の車体後部構造。
  7.  前記左右のコンビパネルは、前記左右のガータ組立体の一部を構成している、請求項5記載の車体後部構造。
  8.  前記左右のコンビパネルは、前記開口部の周縁に位置した車内側の左右のコンビインナと、該左右のコンビインナに対し車幅方向の外側に位置した左右のコンビサイドと、から成り、
     前記左右のコンビインナは、前記左右のコンビサイドよりも板厚が大きい厚板によって形成されている、請求項7記載の車体後部構造。
  9.  前記開口部の左右の側縁に位置して車体側部を成す左右のサイドパネルと、該左右のサイドパネルに設けられる左右のガータスチフナと、を更に備え、
     前記左右のサイドパネルは、車内側に位置する左右のサイドインナパネルと、車外側に位置する左右のサイドアウタパネルと、から成り、
     前記左右のサイドインナパネルは、車体前後方向に延びる左右のインナ側壁部と、該左右のインナ側壁部の後端から車幅中央側へ屈曲する左右のインナ後壁部と、から成り、
     前記サイドアウタパネルは、前記左右のインナ側壁部に対し車幅方向の外側へ間隔をあけて位置して前後方向に延びる左右のアウタ側壁部と、該左右のアウタ側壁部から車幅中央側へ屈曲して前記左右のインナ後壁部に接合される左右のアウタ後壁部と、から成り、
     前記左右のガータスチフナは、前記左右のインナ側壁部と前記左右のアウタ側壁部とによって囲まれた内部に位置しており、前記左右のサイドインナパネルに接合され、
     前記左右のガータスチフナと前記左右のサイドインナパネルとによって、車体上下方向へ延びた閉断面状のガータ閉断面部が形成されている、
    請求項2乃至4のいずれか1項記載の車体後部構造。
  10.  前記開口部の下縁は、前記リヤパネル組立体によって形成され、
     前記開口部の上縁は、車幅方向に延びるリヤルーフレールによって形成され、
     前記開口部の左右の側縁は、前記左右のガータ組立体によって形成され、
     該左右のガータ組立体は、前記左右のインナ側壁部と、前記左右のガータスチフナと、から成り、
     該左右のガータスチフナは、
     前記リヤパネル組立体と前記左右のガータ組立体との間の左右の下コーナ部から、前記左右のインナ側壁部まで延びた左右のガータロアと、
     前記リヤルーフレールと前記左右のガータ組立体との間の左右の上コーナ部から、前記左右のインナ側壁部まで延びた左右のガータアッパと、から成る、請求項9記載の車体後部構造。
  11.  前記リヤパネル組立体は、車外側に位置して車幅方向に延びているリヤアウタ側部材と、車内側に位置して車幅方向に延びているリヤインナ側部材と、によって閉断面状に構成され、
     該リヤインナ側部材は、車内側へ膨出する左右の膨出部を有し、
     前記リヤアウタ側部材は、前記左右の膨出部の車外側の面に接合される本体部を有し、
     前記左右の下コーナ部は、車内側に位置して前記左右のガータロアが接合される左右のコーナインナ部材と、車外側に位置して該左右のコーナインナ部材に接合される左右のコーナアウタ部材と、によって閉断面状に構成され、
     該左右のコーナアウタ部材は、前記左右の下コーナ部において車外側に位置し、前記本体部と前記左右のガータロアとに接合されている、
    請求項10記載の車体後部構造。
  12.  前記リヤアウタ側部材は、車幅中央領域を構成するリヤアウタパネルを備え、
     前記リヤインナ側部材は、車幅中央領域を構成するリヤインナパネルを備え、
     前記左右のコーナインナ部材は、
     前記リヤインナパネルから車幅方向の外方へ延びる左右のリヤパネルエクステンションと、
     上端部が前記ガータロアの車内側の面に接合されて、前記左右のガータロアとの間に閉断面を構成する左右のガータエクステンションと、から成り、
     該左右のガータエクステンションの下端部は、前記左右のリヤパネルエクステンションに接合されている、請求項11記載の車体後部構造。
  13.  前記左右のリヤパネルエクステンションは、前記左右のガータエクステンションよりも板厚が大きい厚板によって形成されている、請求項12記載の車体後部構造。
  14.  前記左右のコーナアウタ部材は、前記左右の下コーナ部の近傍に位置して、左右のリヤコンビネーションランプを収納するための左右のコンビパネルによって構成され、
     前記左右のコンビパネルは、前記本体部と前記左右のガータロアとに接合されている、請求項11乃至13のいずれか1項記載の車体後部構造。
  15.  前記左右のコンビパネルは、前記開口部の周縁に位置した車内側の左右のコンビインナと、該左右のコンビインナに対し車幅方向の外側に位置した左右のコンビサイドと、から成り、
     前記左右のコンビインナは、前記左右のコンビサイドよりも板厚が大きい厚板によって形成されている、請求項14記載の車体後部構造。
  16.  前記左右のガータアッパは、前記左右のガータロアよりも板厚が大きい厚板によって形成されている、請求項10記載の車体後部構造。
  17.  前記リヤパネル組立体は、車外側に位置して車幅方向に延びているリヤアウタ側部材と、車内側に位置して車幅方向に延びているリヤインナ側部材と、によって閉断面状に形成され、
     前記リヤアウタ側部材は、車幅中央領域を構成するリヤアウタパネルを備え、
     前記リヤインナ側部材は、車幅中央領域を構成するリヤインナパネルを備え、
     前記リヤアウタパネルは、前記リヤインナパネルの後面に対向する本体部と、該本体部の車幅方向の両端部から前に屈曲した左右の屈曲部と、該左右の屈曲部から前記リヤインナパネルへ向かって前方へ延びた複数のバルクヘッドと、から成り、
     該複数のバルクヘッドの前端部は、前記左右の屈曲部よりも車幅方向の外側に位置し、
     前記リヤパネル組立体の内部は、複数のバルクヘッドによって車幅方向に仕切られている、請求項1乃至5のいずれか1項記載の車体後部構造。
  18.  前記複数のバルクヘッドは、前記前端部から車幅方向の外側へ延びた前フランジを備え、該前フランジは、前記リヤインナ側部材に接合されている、請求項17記載の車体後部構造。
  19.  前記リヤインナパネルは、該リヤインナパネルから車体前方へ窪むとともに車幅方向に延びる多角形断面の溝状に形成された、多角形断面部を備え、
     該多角形断面部は、前記本体部によって塞がれており、該本体部から車体前方へ最も離れている前壁と、該前壁の上端から車体後方へ延びた上壁と、前記前壁の下端から車体後方へ延びた下壁と、から成り、
     前記複数のバルクヘッドは、前記多角形断面部の前記上壁に沿うように形成される上端部と、該上端部から車幅方向の外側へ延びて、前記多角形断面部の前記上壁に接合される上フランジと、前記多角形断面部の前記下壁に沿うように形成される下端部と、該下端部から車幅方向の外側へ延びて、前記多角形断面部の前記下壁に接合される下フランジと、を有している、請求項18記載の車体後部構造。
  20.  前記本体部の上端には、車幅方向に延びる本体側上フランジが形成され、
     該本体側上フランジの車幅方向の両端と、前記複数のバルクヘッドの前記上フランジと、の間には、上の切欠部が形成されている、請求項19記載の車体後部構造。
  21.  前記本体部の下端には、車幅方向に延びる本体側下フランジが形成され、
     該本体側下フランジの車幅方向の両端と、前記複数のバルクヘッドの前記下フランジと、の間には、下の切欠部が形成されている、請求項19又は請求項20記載の車体後部構造。
  22.  前記リヤインナパネルは、前記多角形断面部の下端から車体の後面に沿って下方へ延びた、縦板状の延長壁部を備えている、請求項17乃至21のいずれか1項記載の車体後部構造。
