Abstract
La presente invención se refiere a un a un sistema modular (1) para proporcionar energía a un dispositivo electrónico (2) a través de un campo magnético. El dispositivo electrónico (2) es un implante para animales de laboratorio cuya misión es medir y enviar información de funciones fisiológicas del animal para un posterior análisis y estudio. El sistema implantable posee un módulo de almacenamiento de energía temporal. El sistema que proporciona energía a través del campo magnético para la alimentación del implante está alojado en la jaula del animal y su modularidad permite aplicarlo a alojamientos animales tan grandes como se desee. El sistema permite estudios de duración prolongada, (en los cuales el uso de baterías está descartado), mientras el animal se mueve libremente en su jaula sin ningún tipo de restricción. El sistema permite además extraer el animal de la zona de generación de campo magnético durante periodos de tiempo limitados sin que se pierdan las funciones del implante por falta de alimentación.
Description
SISTEMA MODULAR PARA LA AUMENTACIÓN POR CAMPO MAGNÉTICO EN
TELEMETRÍA ANIMAL
Antecedentes de la Invención Existen numerosos trabajos de Investigación sobre el desarrollo de dispositivos implantabas con diversos objetivos: estimulación muscular, dispensación automática de fármacos, medida de parámetros biológicos, etc. y que- usan una señal de radiofrecuencia para realizar la transmisión tanto de datos como de energía
(US7191013-81 / KR2005Q39445-A / US6631296-81 / US20G3014091-A1 / US6477425- Bl / WO20059370-A / WO2000224456-A / WO2006010013-A1). En muchos de ellos una pequeña batería proporciona la energía al sistema, pero a su vez limita su vida útil. En otros se describe un sistéma de almacenamiento temporal de la energía (como en US US2003014091), Algunos de estos trabajos ya han sido o están en vía de ser patentados. (US2005159105-A1 / US 2008103553 / US 2008091246 / US2008O09921 /US6455883-B1 / US6166518-A /US5733313-A / US2005288743-A1). Se han realizado también patentes de dispositivos Implantados sin batería y que utilizan luz solar como medio para conseguir la energía (US2004116794).
Otras patentes se basan én el aprovechamiento de un campo magnético, el cual una vez rectificado y debidamente filtrado es usado como fuente de energía, aunque no para un dispositivo Implantado (HK1017537 / ES2111486).
En todas estas invenciones la transmisión de energía es prácticamente punto a punto y extremadamente focalizada en una pequeña área de! espacio, teniendo unas severas restricciones de posicionamiento y orientación (ver por ejemplo W00137926A1). La presente invención propone un sistema que permite generar un campo magnético uniforme en una área tan grande como la aplicación lo requiera, que permite al animal que lleva el implante moverse libremente en su habitáculo.
Descripción de la invención
La presente Invención se refiere a un sistema capaz de medir y transmitir tos datos fisiológicos de un animal que se encuentra en movimiento libre dentro de su jaula, durante un Sargo periodo de tiempo. Dicho sistema no puede suponer un Impedimento para el animal en el desarrollo de su actividad física habitual ni producir ninguna alteración fisiológica que pueda modiftcar su desarrollo, comportamiento ni evidentemente los datos obtenidos. la invención se compone de un a un sistema modular (1) para proporcionar energía a un dispositivo electrónico (2) a través de un campo magnético, y un sistema de transmisión y procesamiento de datos (3).
El sistema (1) encargado de la generación del campo magnético consta de:
(1a) circuito tanque resonante paralelo: (1aa) bobina {lab} condensador. (1b) circuito electrónico que proporciona una corriente harmónica a! circuito
1a.
El sistema de generación de campo magnético maximiza la uniformidad del mismo en toda la superficie de la base de la jaula del animal, para garantizar la correcta alimentación del implante independientemente del punto de la jaula donde este se encuentre. Para garantizar la uniformidad del campo magnético, la inductancia (1aa) de! circuito tanque (1a) se construye de tal forma que quede distribuida por toda la superficie de la base de la jaula del animal. Las espiras son de geometría y posición variable para garantizar una máxima uniformidad del campo generado. A su vez el soporte en el cual estarán dispuestas las espiras está formado por una o varias capas para obtener el campo magnético deseado por unidad de superficie. El sistema es modular de manera que se puede generar un campo uniforme en una superficie de mayores dimensiones replicando N veces el elemento base.
El dispositivo electrónico (2) es un implante para anímales de laboratorio cuya misión es medir y enviar Información de funciones fisiológicas del animal para un posterior análisis y estudio. Este dispositivo consta de:
(2a) los sensores necesarios para realizar la adquisición de los parámetros fisiológicos de interés.
(2b) un mlcrocontrolador que realiza la conversión analógica / dígital y que a su vez envía los datos de forma empaquetada y serializada (protocolo de comunicaciones).
(2c) un transmisor de radio-frecuencia el cual envía/recibe los datos»
(2d) un circuito tanque resonante paralelo (formado por una bobina (2da), geométricamente distribuida en la envolvente del implante, y un condensador) encargado de la transformación de la energía magnética en eléctrica.
(2e) un módulo de almacenamiento temporal de energía, que permite extraer el animal de la Jaula durante periodos de tiempo limitados sin que el implante pierda su funcionalidad.
El dispositivo (3) encargado de transmitir almacenar y procesar los datos se compone de:
{3a} transmisor de radio-frecuencia, el cual recibe/envía los datos emitidos/ recibidos por (2c)
(3b) un procesador que responderá al protocolo generado por (2b) y que por tanto será capaz de recuperar los datos correspondientes a cada uno de los sensores (2a).
(3c) un sistema de comunicación encargado de transmitir a un PC los datos procedentes del sistema (3a)
(3d) un software de análisis, tratamiento y almacenado de los datos.
El funcionamiento global del sistema es eí siguiente:
El circuito resonante parálelo (1a) se excita con una corriente senoidal a través de un puente H incluido en (1b). La bobina del circuito tanque (1aa), que está geométricamente distribuida en toda la base de la jaula del animal, genera un campo magnético proporcional a la corriente que circula por ella. Dicho campo magnético induce en la bobina del circuito tanque del implante (2da) la corriente necesaria para el correcto funcionamiento del mismo, los circuitos tanque del sistema de generación de campo magnético (1a) y del implante (2d) están sintonizados a la misma frecuencia. El implante adquiere y digitaliza continuamente los parámetros fisiológicos a medir, y posteriormente, mediante un protocolo de comunicaciones adecuado, envía la información a través del transmisor de radiofrecuencia (2c).
El transmisor receptor (3a) se encuentra a una cierta, distancia de la jaula del animal (una distancia que asegure que el funcionamiento del enlace de RF es correcto). El receptor (3a) entrega los datos recibidos del implante a un procesador (3b) encargado de enviarlos a través de un sistema de comunicación (3c) a un PC. En dicho PC se realizará el procesado y almacenamiento de todas las señales biológicas recibidas.
El sistema permite que temporalmente el anima! se encuentre fuera de la acción del campo magnético graclas ai módulo del almacenamiento temporal de energía (2e), manteniendo el implante todas sus prestaciones.
Breve descripción de los dibujos
Para mayor comprensión de cuanto se ha expuesto se acompañan unos dibujos en los cuales, esquemáticamente y sólo a título de ejemplo no limitativo, se representa lo anteriormente descrito.
La figura I es un esquema global del sistema generador del campo magnético, donde se muestre el circuito (1b) que proporciona la corriente al circuito tanque (1a) que está formado por una bobina (1aa) y un condensador (1ab) la figura 2 es un esquema genérico del implante, donde se muestren los sensores para la medida de las variables fisiológicas (2a) , el mícrocontrolador que realiza ta conversión analógica / digital y envía los datos de forma empaquetada y serializada (2b), e! transmisor de radiofrecuencia (2c) que envía los resultados de las medidas a un receptor situado en el exterior del implante, (2d) un circuito tanque resonante paralelo (formado por una bobina (2da), geométrica mente distribuida en la envolvente del implante, y un condensador), y un sistema de almacenamiento temporal de energía (2e), que permite extraer el animal de la jaula durante perlodos de tiempo cortos sin que el implante pierda su funcionalidad
La figura 3 es un esquema representativo de la unidad encargada de la recepción de los datos, del tratamiento y almacenado de los mismos. Consta de una antena receptora (3e), conectada ai circuito receptor (3a), un procesador (3b) que responderá ai protocolo generado por (2b) y que recupera tos datos correspondientes a cada uno de los sensores (2a), un sistema de comunicación (3c) encargado de transmitir a un PC (3f) los datos procedentes de! implante, y un software de análisis, tratamiento y almacenado de los datos (3d). la figura 4 es un ejemplo ilustrativo de la impiementación de una celda base (bobina distribuida (4a) y condensador (4b)) del circuito resonante encargado de generar el campo magnético. Se muestran también los conectores macho (4c) y hembra (4d) para la interconexión de las celdas base en el sistema modular- La figura 5 muestra la medularidad de las celdas base del circuito tanque para la generación del campo magnético, mostrando su capacidad de ampliación.
La figura 6 contiene un esquema del sistema completo.
Descripción de modos de realización de la Invención
Ei sistema descrito en la presente invención tiene como objetivo el estudio de uno o varlos parámetros fisiológicos en animales, a muy largo plazo.
Modificando el tipo y el numero de sensores biomédicos del implante se puede adquirir cualquier parámetro fisiológico deseado ((ECG, presión sanguínea, temperatura, actividad, etc.)
La modificación del número y tipo de sensor comporta tan solo un cambio dei software a nivel de tratamiento de datos en (3).
La transmisión de tos datos hacia el exterior dei implante y la de las órdenes de programación hacia ei interior del mismo puede realizarse utilizando cualquier protocolo de comunicación inalámbrico modificando el tipo de transmisor y el software del implante.
La superficie generadora de campo magnético para la alimentación del implante se puede ampliar tanto como se desee debido a la modularidad de la celda base. Esta celda puede replicarse tantas veces como sea necesario manteniendo invariable su frecuencia de resonancia: cada módulo tendrá un mismo valor de inductancia y capacidad puesto en paralelo y resonante a la frecuencia de interés, de forma que apilando N módulos dividimos ei valor de la inductancia por N y multiplicamos el valor de la capacidad por N. De esta forma la frecuencia de resonancia se mantiene invariable.
La superficie generadora de campo magnético puede ser fabricada usando un sustrato multicapa, un bobinado genérico de hilo metálico o una combinación de ambas opciones, permitiendo de esta forma aumentar la densidad de campo magnético.
Claims
1. Sistema modular para generar un campo magnético que alimenta a un dispositivo implantado en un animal destinado al estudio de parámetros fisiológicos en animales caracterizado por qué : a) cada celda de generación de comprende un circuito tanque resonante (1a) formado por un condensador (1ab) y una bobina (1aa) distribuida geométricamente en toda la superficie del módulo. b) la geometría de la bobina genera un campo magnético uniforme en toda la superficie de la celda a una altura entre 0 y 4 cm. c) la geometría resultante de la interconexión de varias celdas mantiene la uniformidad del campo y garantiza que la superficie para generar el campo es ajustable según las dimensiones requeridas mediante la interconexión dos o más celdas de generación.
2. Equipo según la reivindicación 1 caracterizado por usar un sustrato multicapa, un bobinado genérico con hilo metálico o una combinación de ambas opciones para la fabricación de la bobina distribuida (1aa).
3. Equipo según la reivindicación 1 que comprende un dispositivo implantado en el animal que consta de uno o varios sensores para la medida de variables fisiológicas (2a) , un microcontrolador cuyas funciones principales son la digitalización de los datos y el control de la transmisión de los mismos (2b), un transmisor de radiofrecuencia (2c) que envía los resultados de las medidas a un receptor situado en el exterior del implante, (2d) un circuito tanque resonante paralelo (formado por una bobina (2da), geométricamente distribuida en la envolvente del implante, y un condensador), y un sistema de almacenamiento temporal de energía (2e), que permite extraer el animal de la jaula durante periodos de tiempo cortos, cuya duración depende de la capacidad de almacenamiento de energía del sistema, sin que el implante pierda su funcionalidad.
4. Equipo o dispositivo según la reivindicación 3 caracterizado por que el elemento de almacenamiento temporal de energía es preferiblemente un condensador.
