Abstract

Disclosed is a method for polymerizing alpha-olefins with utilizing a three-phase system, using a three-phase fluidized bed reactor, wherein alpha-olefins are efficiently and economically polymerized by agitating multiphase reaction media comprising solid, liquid and gas phases (three phases) with a three-phase fluidized bed reactor comprising an agitation means by bubbles. The method for polymerizing alpha-olefins utilizing the three-phase system is by agitating the bubbles in a gas stream comprising of one or more types of alpha-olefins and an inert gas, in the form of bubbles in a liquid stream comprising a catalyst which is a liquid hydrocarbon solvent and one or more types of alpha-olefins, to form multiphase (three phases of solid phase, liquid phase and gas phase) reaction media, and polymerizes the alpha-olefins into a polyolefin in the formed multiphase reaction media.
