The present invention relates to a paint application system with a preferably hand-held paint spraying device which has a paint outlet nozzle, via which a color spray mist can be dispensed in a predetermined spraying direction. With such paint application systems, different sprayed material can be sprayed, in particular water-dilutable and solvent-containing sprayed material, such as, for example, paints, lacquers, glazes, primers, stains and wood preservatives, to name only a few.

Coloring systems of the type mentioned are known in the prior art in a variety of configurations. The spraying method used is usually the low-pressure spraying method, which is a method in which sprayed material sprays at a low pressure of about 0.2 to about 0.5 bar and at a high air flow rate of about 200 l / min becomes. This HVLP spraying process achieves low overspray, i. because of its low spray losses, coating levels up to about 65% and is thus superior to conventional processes that achieve coating levels between about 20 and 35%. According to one embodiment of the present invention, the spray protection is brush-like, in particular of a flexible bristle or spongy material. A brush-like spray protection stores the spray particles of the paint spray which bounce against it, which can then be released again to the surface to be treated when a brushing movement is carried out. Thus, all paint spray can be used for paint application and there are no losses due to overspray.

The length of the spray protection in spray direction is preferably in the range of 1 to 20 cm, in particular in the range of 3 to 10 cm. With such a designed spray protection particularly good inking results were achieved.

The paint spraying device preferably comprises an ink reservoir integrated or arranged on the paint spraying device, whereby a very good and flexible handling of the inking system according to the invention is achieved.

According to one embodiment of the present invention, the paint spraying device is designed for connection to an external ink reservoir. Thus, even large areas with be provided with a paint job, without the paint application process must be interrupted by a constant refilling a smaller integrated or arranged on the paint sprayer ink reservoir.

Figures 1 and 2 show an inking system 10 according to a first embodiment of the present invention, which consists of a hand-held paint spraying device 12. The paint spraying device 12 comprises a housing 14, which serves as a handle and has a substantially hollow cylindrical shape, which is closed at its one free end by a cover 18, which is held detachably by means of a thread 16. At the opposite free end of the housing 14, a Farbaustrittdüse 20 is provided, via which in a predetermined spray direction S a color spray can be delivered. Within the housing 14, a paint reservoir 22, a connected via a supply line 24 to the paint reservoir 22 pressure generating component 26, which is fluidly connected to the ink outlet nozzle 20, and a power supply 28 is taken, which serves to drive the pressure generating component 26. The ink reservoir 22 is a refillable ink cartridge having an elongated, cross-sectionally moon-shaped configuration. The power supply 28 is formed by an elongated, round cross-section accumulator which is received between the paint reservoir 22 and the housing 14. The pressurizing component 26 is positioned between the paint reservoir 22 and the paint exit nozzle 20 and serves to supply ink contained in the paint reservoir 22 under pressure to the paint exit nozzle 22. To actuate the pressure generating component 26, a switch 30 is positioned on the outside of the housing 14, which is designed both as an on / off switch for the on and off switch in the pressure generating component 26 and as a regulator for controlling the color flow to be conveyed by the pressure generating component 26.

In spray direction S behind the paint outlet nozzle 20, a spray guard 32 is provided, which is held by a non-illustrated quick release releasably on the housing 14. The spray protection 32 comprises a plurality of arranged in the form of a protective ring color order bristles 34 which surround the ink outlet nozzle 20 annularly and extend substantially parallel to the predetermined spray direction S. The inking bristles 34 are made of a flexible bristle or sponge-like material and have a length of 7 cm.

During operation of the inking system 10, an operator holds the housing 14 of the paint spraying device 12 by hand. By operating the switch 30, the operator can switch the pressure generating component 26 on or off and regulate it in the switched-on state. The ink contained in the ink reservoir 22 is supplied by means of the pressure generating component 26 via the supply line 24 of the ink discharge nozzle 20, from where it is sprayed as a paint spray 36 on a workpiece 38 to be machined.

Thanks to the spray protection 32, lateral overspray over the spray guard 32 is reliably prevented during paint application. The applicator bristles 34 store the spray particles of the paint spray 36 which bounce against it, which can then be dispensed by the paint application bristles 34 to the workpiece 38 to be machined when a paint brush strokes are performed. In this case, an application of paint without interruption is possible until the color contained in the color reservoir is completely consumed.

FIG. 3 shows a paint application system 40 according to a second embodiment of the present invention. The inking system 40 comprises a base device 42 with a housing 44, in which a pressure generating component not shown in detail is received in the form of a compressed air generating device and which is closed by a cover 45. At the rear bottom of the housing 44, two wheels 46 are accommodated, so that the base device 42 can be moved in the manner of a vacuum cleaner over a substrate. Provided on the rear housing area is a switch 38, which serves for the on and off switch of the pressure generating component accommodated in the housing 44 of the base device 42. In addition to the switch 48 air channels 50 are provided, via which the pressure generating component is supplied with the required air. The power cord 52 is wound within the housing 44 on an unillustrated automatic winding device and can be pulled out of the housing 44 as needed. In the front region of the housing 44, a connection not shown in detail is arranged, to which a connection piece of a compressed air hose 54 is detachably connected.

Furthermore, the inking system 40 comprises a hand-held paint spray 56, which is designed as a spray gun. The paint spraying device 56 comprises a housing 58, on which a handle 60 for holding the paint spraying device 56 is integrally formed. The spray guard 68 comprises annularly arranged paint applicator bristles 70, which are positioned annularly around the paint outlet nozzle 66 and extend substantially parallel to the predetermined spray direction S. The paint application bristles 70 are made of a flexible bristle or sponge-like material and have a length of 4 cm.

At the front lower portion of the housing 58 of the paint spraying device 56, a paint reservoir 72 is releasably held, for example by means of a screw connection or the like.

To start up the inking system 40, the power cable 52 is first pulled out of the housing 44 of the base device 42 and connected to a power supply. Thereafter, the pressure generating component received in the base device 42 is turned on by operating the switch 38.
