Abstract

Methods and systems for enhancing a search results page with payment processing information are described. Consistent with some embodiments of the inventive subject matter, a browser plug-in is invoked to analyze a source document corresponding to a search results page generated by a search engine. The plug-in parses and extracts URLs corresponding with the individual search results, and then compares the URLs with URLs from a list of URLs known to be associated with merchants or marketplaces that support payments from a particular payment processing entity. For those search results that have matching URLs, the portion of the source document corresponding with the search result is modified such that the search result is displayed with some additional text, a graphic, an icon or some other indicia that indicates the search result is associated with a merchant that accepts payments from the particular payment processing entity.
