Abstract

The invention relates to a cable suitable for supplying power to a drilling rig's top-drive assembly. In a typical embodiment, the power cable includes a plurality of high - conductivity conductors (11), an electromagnetic shield (13), two protective sheats (17, 19), and a reinforcing layer of braided aramid fibers (18) between the protective sheaths.
