Description

電解コンデンサ
 本発明は、電解コンデンサに関し、特に巻回型の電解コンデンサに関する。
 従来の巻回型の電解コンデンサは、陽極箔と陰極箔とを重ね合わせて巻回された巻回体を具え、陽極箔の表面には誘電体層が形成され、陽極箔の誘電体層と陰極箔との間には、電解液が浸み込んだセパレータが介在しており、陽極箔には陽極リードが電気的に接続される一方、陰極箔には陰極リードが電気的に接続されている(例えば、特許文献1参照)。
 上記電解コンデンサにおいては、陽極リードと陽極箔との電気的な接続位置、及び、陰極リードと陰極箔との電気的な接続位置をそれぞれ、巻回体の巻回軸の近傍位置に配置して、リード間距離を小さくすることが可能である。リード間距離を小さくすることにより、陽極リードと陰極リードとの間に生じるループインダクタンスが小さくなって、該電解コンデンサの等価直列インダクタンスが小さくなる。

 しかしながら、上記接続位置を巻回体の巻回軸の近傍位置に配置した場合、電解コンデンサの外周面から陽極リード又は陰極リード迄の距離が大きくなる。従って、電解コンデンサを、CPU(Central Processing Unit)等の負荷回路に近接させて回路基板に搭載した場合でも、電解コンデンサの陽極リード及び陰極リードは、少なくとも該電解コンデンサの外周面からの距離だけ負荷回路から離れることになる。このため、陽極リード又は陰極リードと負荷回路とを接続する配線が長くなり、その結果、該配線に生じる等価直列インダクタンス(ESL)が大きくなる問題があった。
 そこで本発明の目的は、等価直列インダクタンスが小さく、且つ、回路基板に搭載したときに陰極リードを負荷回路に近接配置することが可能な電解コンデンサ素子を提供することである。
 本発明に係る第1の電解コンデンサは、表面に誘電体層が形成された陽極箔を巻回した巻回体と、前記巻回体の内部及び外周面上に形成された電解質層と、前記巻回体の外周面上にて前記電解質層の表面に形成された陰極層と、前記陽極箔に電気的に接続された複数の陽極リードと、各陽極リードに1つずつ対応して前記陰極層に電気的に接続された複数の陰極リードとを具えている。ここで、各陽極リードは、前記巻回体の巻回端面から引き出され、各陰極リードは、該陰極リードに対応する陽極リードの近傍位置にて、前記陰極層の外周面に電気的に接続されている。
 上記電解コンデンサにおいては、各陰極リードとこれに対応する陽極リードとのリード間距離が小さく、且つ、各陰極リードは、該陰極リードに対応する陽極リードの近傍位置にて、陰極層の外周面に電気的に接続されている。従って、陽極リードと陰極リードとの間に生じるループインダクタンスは小さく、このため、上記電解コンデンサの等価直列インダクタンス(ESL)は小さい。
 又、上記電解コンデンサにおいては、各陽極リードが、巻回体の端面の外周部から引き出されている。従って、各陰極リードを、これに対応する陽極リードとのリード間距離を拡げずに、電解コンデンサの外周面の近傍位置、又は、該外周面と同一面上の位置に配置することが出来る。この構成によれば、上記電解コンデンサを回路基板に搭載する場合、陰極リードを負荷回路に近接させることが出来る。陰極リードを負荷回路に近接させることにより、陰極リードと負荷回路との配線距離が短くなり、その結果、電解コンデンサと負荷回路との間に生じる等価直列インダクタンス(ESL)が小さくなる。
 更に、上記電解コンデンサにおいては、各陰極リードとこれに対応する陽極リードとの間にコンデンサ成分が形成され、該コンデンサ成分が、電解コンデンサに配備されている陽極リードの数だけ並列に接続されることになる。従って、各陰極リードとこれに対応する陽極リードとの間に生じる等価直列インダクタンス(ESL)及び等価直列抵抗(ESR)を考慮すると、上記電解コンデンサには、コンデンサ成分、ESL、ESRの直列回路が陽極リードの数だけ並列に接続された等価回路が形成されることになる。よって、電解コンデンサの静電容量は、陽極リードの数に比例して大きくなる一方、電解コンデンサのESL及びELRは、陽極リードの数に反比例して小さくなる。
 上記第1の電解コンデンサの具体的構成において、前記巻回体は、複数枚の前記陽極箔を巻回して形成されたものであり、各陽極箔の1箇所又は複数箇所に前記陽極リードが電気的に接続されている。

 該具体的構成においては、導電ケースの外周面により電解コンデンサの外周面を構成することが出来る。この構成においては、陰極リードが、電解コンデンサの外周面となる導電ケースの外周面の近傍位置、又は、該外周面の同一面上の位置に配置されることになる。
 本発明に係る第2の電解コンデンサは、複数の巻回素子と、該複数の巻回素子を収容する有底筒状の導電ケースと、各巻回素子に1つずつ対応して、前記導電ケースの導電部に電気的に接続された複数の陰極リードとを具えている。各巻回素子は、表面に誘電体層が形成された陽極箔を巻回した巻回体と、前記巻回体の内部及び外周面上に形成された電解質層と、前記巻回体の外周面上にて前記電解質層の表面に形成された陰極層と、前記陽極箔に電気的に接続されて、前記巻回体の巻回端面から引き出された陽極リードとを有している。
 ここで、各巻回素子は、前記導電ケースの内周面に近接配置されると共に、各陰極リードは、該陰極リードの対応する巻回素子の近傍位置に配置されている。又、前記導電ケースの導電部は、少なくとも導電ケースの内周面に露出しており、該導電ケースの内周面と各巻回素子の陰極層の外周面との間には、少なくとも該巻回素子の陽極リードの近傍位置に、導電ケースの導電部と陰極層とを電気的に接続する導電部材が介在している。
 上記電解コンデンサにおいては、各陰極リードとこれに対応する巻回素子の陽極リードとのリード間距離が小さい。又、導電ケースの内周面と各巻回素子の陰極層の外周面との間には、導電部材が、少なくとも該巻回素子の陽極リードの近傍位置に存在している。よって、各陰極リードは、該陰極リードに対応する巻回素子の陽極リードの近傍位置にて、該巻回素子の陰極層の外周面に電気的に接続されている。従って、陽極リードと陰極リードとの間に生じるループインダクタンスは小さく、このため、上記電解コンデンサの等価直列インダクタンス(ESL)は小さい。
 又、上記電解コンデンサにおいては、導電ケースの導電部に各陰極リードが接続されている。ここで、導電ケースの外周面により電解コンデンサの外周面を構成することが出来る。この構成においては、各陰極リードは、電解コンデンサの外周面の近傍位置、又は、該外周面と同一面上の位置に配置されることになる。よって、上記電解コンデンサを回路基板に搭載する場合、該電解コンデンサの陰極リードを負荷回路に近接させることが出来る。電解コンデンサの陰極リードを負荷回路に近接させることにより、陰極リードと負荷回路との配線距離が短くなり、その結果、電解コンデンサと負荷回路との間に生じる等価直列インダクタンス(ESL)が小さくなる。
 更に、上記電解コンデンサにおいては、各陰極リードとこれに対応する巻回素子の陽極リードとの間にコンデンサ成分が形成され、該コンデンサ成分が、電解コンデンサに配備されている巻回素子の数だけ並列に接続されることになる。従って、各陰極リードとこれに対応する巻回素子の陽極リードとの間に生じる等価直列インダクタンス(ESL)及び等価直列抵抗(ESR)を考慮すると、上記電解コンデンサには、コンデンサ成分、ESL、ESRの直列回路が巻回素子の数だけ並列に接続された等価回路が形成されることになる。よって、電解コンデンサの静電容量は、巻回素子の数に比例して大きくなる一方、電解コンデンサのESL及びELRは、巻回素子の数に反比例して小さくなる。
 上記第1及び第2のコンデンサの具体的構成において、前記導電ケースの導電部と前記複数の陰極リードとが一体に形成されている。
 本発明に係る電解コンデンサは、等価直列インダクタンスが小さく、且つ、回路基板に搭載したときに陰極リードを負荷回路に近接配置することが可能である。

 以下、本発明の実施の形態につき、図面に沿って具体的に説明する。
 第1の実施形態
 図1は、本発明の第1の実施形態に係る電解コンデンサを示す斜視図である。図1に示す様に、本実施形態の電解コンデンサは、巻回素子(1)と、該巻回素子(1)を収容する有底筒状の金属ケース(6)とを具えている。
 図2は、上記電解コンデンサを、金属ケース(6)の底面壁(603)とは逆側から見た平面図である。又、図3は、図2に示されるA-A線に沿う断面図である。図3に示す様に、巻回素子(1)は、巻回体(2)と、一対の陽極リード(3)(3)とを有している。
 図4は、巻回体(2)を示す斜視図である。図4に示す様に、巻回体(2)は、長尺状の2枚の陽極箔(21)(22)を重ね合わせて巻回されたものである。ここで、陽極箔(21)(22)は、アルミニウム等の弁作用金属から形成されている。陽極箔(21)(22)の表面には、エッチング処理が施されて微細な凹凸が形成されている。このため陽極箔(21)(22)は何れも、大きな表面積を有している。
 陽極箔(21)(22)の表面には更に、化成処理が施されて酸化被膜が形成されている。従って、陽極箔(21)(22)の表面には、該酸化被膜から成る誘電体層が形成されている。よって、巻回体(2)の表面には、陽極箔(21)(22)の表面に形成されている誘電体層の一部が露出している。
 尚、本実施形態において上記巻回体(2)を作製する場合、図4に示す様に、2枚の陽極箔(21)(22)の間にクラフト紙等のセパレータ(51)が挟み込まれ、陽極箔(22)のセパレータ(51)とは反対側の面に別のセパレータ(52)が重ね合わされる。その後、これらが、陽極箔(21)を内側にして巻回される。従って、作製された巻回体(2)においては、2枚の陽極箔(21)(22)の間に2枚のセパレータ(51)(52)の何れかが介在することになる。
 上記巻回素子(1)において、陽極箔(21)(22)の内部及び外周面上には、固体電解質層(11)が形成されている。ここで、固体電解質層(11)の形成には、無機半導体、有機半導体、導電性高分子等の材料を用いることが出来る。尚、図3には、固体電解質層(11)の内、巻回体(2)の表面に露出した誘電体層を覆っている一部分のみが図示されている。
 導電性高分子を用いて固体電解質層(11)を形成する場合、巻回体(2)を重合液に浸漬させて化学重合させる。巻回体(2)を重合液に浸漬させることにより、重合液は、2枚のセパレータ(51)(52)に浸み込むので、特に、陽極箔(21)(22)の表面の内、2枚のセパレータ(51)(52)の何れかと重なり合う面に形成されている誘電体層上には、固体電解質層(11)が形成され易い。
 尚、固体電解質層(11)は、巻回体(2)を重合液に浸漬させて電解重合させることにより形成されてもよい。
 図3に示す様に、固体電解質層(11)の上記一部分(固体電解質層(11)の内、巻回体(2)の表面に露出している誘電体層を覆っている一部分)の表面上には、陰極層(12)が形成されている。図3には図示していないが、陰極層(12)は、固体電解質層(11)の該一部分の表面に形成されたカーボン層と、該カーボン層上に形成されてカーボン層に電気的に接続された銀ペースト層とを含んでいる。
 上記巻回素子(1)において、一対の陽極リード(3)(3)はそれぞれ2枚の陽極箔(21)(22)に電気的に接続されている。そして、図4に示す様に、各陽極リード(3)は、巻回体(2)の表面の内、巻回体(2)の巻回軸と交叉する端面(2a)の外周部(巻回端面)から引き出されている。又、図2に示す様に、一対の陽極リード(3)(3)は、巻回体(2)の巻回軸に対して180°回転対称となる位置に設けられている。ここで、本実施形態においては、巻回体(2)の巻回軸は、電解コンデンサの中心軸に合致している。
 又、各陽極リード(3)は、引出し部の根元部分が絶縁部材(301)により被覆されている。該絶縁部材(301)により、陽極リード(3)と、固体電解質層(11)及び陰極層(12)とが電気的に短絡することが防止されている。
 金属ケース(6)は、アルミニウム、銅等の導電材から形成されており、該導電材から成る導電部が、少なくとも内周面(601)及び開口縁(602)(図3参照)に露出している。又、図3に示す様に、金属ケース(6)の外周面(604)によって、電解コンデンサの外周面が構成されている。金属ケース(6)には、巻回素子(1)が、巻回体(2)の端面(2a)を金属ケース(6)の底面壁(603)とは逆側に向けた姿勢で収容されている。
 金属ケース(6)の開口縁(602)には、一対の陰極リード(4)(4)が電気的に接続されており、各陰極リード(4)と金属ケース(6)の外周面(604)とが同一面上に揃っている。又、該一対の陰極リード(4)(4)は、各陽極リード(3)に1つずつ対応している。
 図2に示す様に、各陰極リード(4)は、開口縁(602)の内、該陰極リード(4)に対応する陽極リード(3)との間の距離が最も小さくなる位置に配置されている。具体的には、一対の陰極リード(4)(4)は、これらと一対の陽極リード(3)(3)とが全て、図2に示されるA-A線上に並ぶ様に配置されている。従って、一対の陰極リード(4)(4)は、一対の陽極リード(3)(3)と同様、電解コンデンサの中心軸に対して180°回転対称となる位置を有している。
 図3に示す様に、金属ケース(6)の内周面(601)と陰極層(12)の外周面(121)との間には、開口縁(602)の近傍位置に、金属ケース(6)の導電部と陰極層(12)とを電気的に接続する導電性接着剤(7)が介在している。
 従って、巻回素子(1)の陰極層(12)と金属ケース(6)とは、一対の陽極リード(3)(3)の近傍位置にて導電性接着剤(7)を通じて互いに電気的に導通し、これにより、各陰極リード(4)は、該陰極リード(4)に対応する陽極リード(3)の近傍位置にて、金属ケース(6)と導電性接着剤(7)を介して陰極層(12)の外周面(121)に電気的に接続されている。
 図3に示す様に、金属ケース(6)の開口は、樹脂材やゴム材等から成る封口材(8)により封止されている。ここで、巻回素子(1)の一対の陽極リード(3)(3)は、その先端部を封口材(8)の表面から外側に突出させて、該封口材(8)によって支持されている。この様にして、巻回素子(1)は、金属ケース(6)内に固定されている。
 尚、封口材(8)としてゴム材を用いる場合、封口材(8)を金属ケース(6)の開口に挿入した後、金属ケース(6)の開口縁部をかしめることにより、封口材(8)は金属ケース(6)に固定され、これにより、金属ケース(6)の開口が封止される。
 上記電解コンデンサにおいては、各陰極リード(4)とこれに対応する陽極リード(3)とのリード間距離が小さく、且つ、各陰極リード(4)は、該陰極リード(4)に対応する陽極リード(3)の近傍位置にて、陰極層(12)の外周面(121)に電気的に接続されている。従って、陽極リード(3)と陰極リード(4)との間に生じるループインダクタンスは小さく、このため、電解コンデンサの等価直列インダクタンス(ESL)は小さい。
 又、上記電解コンデンサにおいては、各陰極リード(4)と金属ケース(6)の外周面(604)とが同一面上に揃っている。ここで、金属ケース(6)の外周面により電解コンデンサの外周面が構成されているので、各陰極リード(4)は、電解コンデンサの外周面と同一面上の位置に配置されることになる。よって、上記電解コンデンサを回路基板に搭載する場合、陰極リード(4)を負荷回路に近接させることが出来る。陰極リード(4)を負荷回路に近接させることにより、陰極リード(4)と負荷回路との配線距離が短くなり、その結果、電解コンデンサと負荷回路との間に生じる等価直列インダクタンス(ESL)が小さくなる。
 更に、上記電解コンデンサにおいては、各陰極リード(4)とこれに対応する陽極リード(3)との間にコンデンサ成分が形成され、該コンデンサ成分が、電解コンデンサに配備されている陽極リード(3)の数だけ並列に接続されることになる。従って、各陰極リード(4)とこれに対応する陽極リード(3)との間に生じる等価直列インダクタンス(ESL)及び等価直列抵抗(ESR)を考慮すると、上記電解コンデンサには、コンデンサ成分、ESL、ESRの直列回路が陽極リード(3)の数だけ並列に接続された等価回路が形成されることになる。よって、電解コンデンサの静電容量は、陽極リード(3)の数に比例して大きくなる一方、電解コンデンサのESL及びELRは、陽極リード(3)の数に反比例して小さくなる。
 図2に示す様に上記電解コンデンサにおいては、該電解コンデンサの中心軸に対して、一対の陽極リード(3)(3)が180°回転対称となる位置を有すると共に、一対の陰極リード(4)(4)も180°回転対称となる位置を有している。従って、上記電解コンデンサを所定の姿勢で回路基板に設置すべき場合に、該電解コンデンサが、その中心軸回りに所定の姿勢から180°回転した姿勢で回路基板に設置された場合でも、電解コンデンサは所定の電気特性を発揮することが出来る。
 図5は、第1の実施形態に係る電解コンデンサの巻回体(2)の変形例を示す斜視図である。図5に示す様に、巻回体(2)は、陽極箔(21)が1枚だけ巻回されたものであってもよい。この場合、陽極箔(21)の2箇所に陽極リード(3)が電気的に接続されることになる。又、本変形例に係る巻回体(2)を作製する場合、1枚に陽極箔(21)にセパレータ(51)が重ね合わされる。その後、これらが、陽極箔(121)を内側にして巻回されることになる。
 図6は、第1の実施形態に係る電解コンデンサの変形例を、金属ケース(6)の底面壁(603)(図1参照)とは逆側から見た平面図である。図6に示す様に、電解コンデンサには、互いに対応する陽極リード(3)と陰極リード(4)が4つずつ設けられていてもよい。
 この場合、巻回体(2)と陽極リード(3)の具体的な構成として、上述した2枚の陽極箔(21)(22)の内、一方の陽極箔(21)の2箇所に2つの陽極リード(3)(3)をそれぞれ電気的に接続し、他方の陽極箔(21)の2箇所に2つの陽極リード(3)(3)をそれぞれ電気的に接続した構成を採用することが出来る。或いは、巻回体(2)と陽極リード(3)(3)の具体的な構成として、巻回素子(1)の巻回体(2)が4枚の陽極箔を重ね合わせて巻回されたものであって、各陽極箔の1箇所にだけ陽極リード(3)を電気的に接続した構成を採用してもよい。
 尚、本発明は、互いに対応する陽極リード(3)と陰極リード(4)が2つずつ又は4つずつ設けられた電解コンデンサ(図2又は図4)に限られるものでない。例えば、互いに対応する陽極リード(3)と陰極リード(4)は、3つずつ設けられていてもよいし、5つ以上の数ずつ設けられていてもよい。
 この場合、巻回体(2)と陽極リード(3)の具体的な構成として、巻回体(2)が陽極箔を複数枚重ね合わせて巻回されたものであって、各陽極箔の1箇所又は複数箇所に陽極リード(3)を電気的に接続した構成を採用することが出来る。或いは、巻回体(2)と陽極リード(3)の具体的な構成として、巻回体(2)が陽極箔を1枚だけ巻回したものであって、該陽極箔の複数箇所に陽極リード(3)を電気的に接続した構成を採用してもよい。
 第1の実施形態に係る電解コンデンサにおいて、金属ケース(6)の内周面(601)と陰極層(12)の外周面(121)との間には、開口縁(602)の近傍位置だけでなく、陰極層(12)の外周面(121)に沿って全体に導電性接着剤(7)が介在していてもよい。
 又、第1の実施形態に係る電解コンデンサにおいて、一対の陰極リード(4)(4)は、金属ケース(6)の内周面(601)に接続されてもよい。この場合でも、各陰極リード(4)は、電解コンデンサの外周面の近傍位置に配置されることになる。よって、上述した電解コンデンサと同様、電解コンデンサを回路基板に搭載する場合、該電解コンデンサの陰極リード(4)を負荷回路に近接させることが出来る。
 図13は、第1の実施形態に係る電解コンデンサに適用可能な金属ケース(6)を示す斜視図である。図13に示す様に、金属ケース(6)、具体的には金属ケース(6)の導電部には、一対の陰極リード(4)(4)が一体に形成されていてもよい。
 第1の実施形態に係る電解コンデンサの構成を、金属ケース(6)を具えない構成に変形してもよい。この場合、各陰極リード(4)は、該陰極リード(4)に対応する陽極リード(3)の近傍位置にて、陰極層(12)の外周面(121)に直接、電気的に接続されることになる。
 第2の実施形態
 図7は、本発明の第2の実施形態に係る電解コンデンサを示す斜視図である。図7に示す様に、本実施形態の電解コンデンサは、2つの巻回素子(110)(110)と、該2つの巻回素子(110)(110)を収容する有底筒状の金属ケース(160)とを具えている。
 図8は、上記電解コンデンサを、金属ケース(160)の底面壁(163)とは逆側から見た平面図である。又、図9は、図8に示されるB-B線に沿う断面図である。図9に示す様に、各巻回素子(110)は、巻回体(120)と、陽極リード(130)とを有している。
 図10は、巻回体(120)を示す斜視図である。図10に示す様に、巻回体(120)は、長尺状の1枚の陽極箔(121)を巻回したものである。ここで、陽極箔(121)は、アルミニウム等の弁作用金属から形成されている。陽極箔(121)の表面には、エッチング処理が施されて微細な凹凸が形成されている。このため陽極箔(121)は、大きな表面積を有している。
 陽極箔(121)の表面には更に、化成処理が施されて酸化被膜が形成されている。従って、陽極箔(121)の表面には、該酸化被膜から成る誘電体層が形成されている。よって、巻回体(120)の表面には、陽極箔(121)の表面に形成されている誘電体層の一部が露出している。
 尚、本実施形態において上記巻回体(120)を作製する場合、図10に示す様に、陽極箔(121)にクラフト紙等のセパレータ(151)が重ね合わされる。その後、これらが、陽極箔(121)を内側にして巻回される。従って、作製された巻回体(120)においては、巻回された陽極箔(121)の間にセパレータ(151)が介在することになる。
 各巻回素子(110)において、陽極箔(121)の表面に形成されている誘電体層上には、固体電解質層(111)が形成されている。ここで、固体電解質層(111)の形成には、無機半導体、有機半導体、導電性高分子等の材料を用いることが出来る。尚、図9には、固体電解質層(111)の内、各巻回体(120)の表面に露出した誘電体層を覆っている一部分のみが図示されている。
 導電性高分子を用いて固体電解質層(111)を形成する場合、巻回体(120)を重合液に浸漬させて化学重合させる。巻回体(120)を重合液に浸漬させることにより、重合液は、セパレータ(151)に浸み込むので、特に、陽極箔(121)の表面の内、セパレータ(151)と重なり合う面に形成されている誘電体層上には、固体電解質層(111)が形成され易い。
 尚、固体電解質層(111)は、巻回体(120)を重合液に浸漬させて電解重合させることにより形成されてもよい。
 図9に示す様に各巻回素子(110)において、固体電解質層(111)の上記一部分(固体電解質層(111)の内、該巻回体(120)の表面に露出している誘電体層を覆っている一部分)の表面上には、陰極層(112)が形成されている。図9には図示していないが、陰極層(112)は、固体電解質層(111)の該一部分の表面に形成されたカーボン層と、該カーボン層上に形成されてカーボン層に電気的に接続された銀ペースト層とを含んでいる。
 各巻回素子(110)において、陽極リード(130)は陽極箔(121)に電気的に接続されている。そして、図10に示す様に、各陽極リード(130)は、巻回体(120)の表面の内、巻回体(120)の巻回軸と交叉する端面(120a)(巻回端面)の中央部から引き出されている。
 又、陽極リード(130)は、引出し部の根元部分が絶縁部材(131)により被覆されている。該絶縁部材(131)により、陽極リード(130)と、固体電解質層(111)及び陰極層(112)とが電気的に短絡することが防止されている。
 金属ケース(160)は、アルミニウム、銅等の導電材から形成されており、該導電材から成る導電部が、少なくとも内周面(161)及び開口縁(162)(図9参照)に露出している。又、図9に示す様に、金属ケース(160)の外周面(164)によって、電解コンデンサの外周面が構成されている。金属ケース(160)には、2つの巻回素子(110)(110)が、各巻回体(120)の端面(120a)を金属ケース(160)の底面壁(163)とは逆側に向けた姿勢で収容されている。
 又、図8に示す様に、2つの巻回素子(110)(110)は、これらの陽極リード(130)(130)が電解コンデンサの中心軸に対して180°回転対称となる位置を有する様に、金属ケース(160)内に並べられている。この様にして、2つ巻回素子(110)(110)は、金属ケース(160)の内周面(161)に近接配置されている。
 金属ケース(160)の開口縁(162)には、一対の陰極リード(140)(140)が電気的に接続されており、各陰極リード(140)と金属ケース(160)の外周面(164)とが同一面上に揃っている。又、該一対の陰極リード(140)(140)は、各巻回素子(110)に1つずつ対応している。
 図8に示す様に、各陰極リード(140)は、開口縁(162)の内、該陰極リード(140)に対応する巻回素子(110)の陽極リード(130)との間の距離が最も小さくなる位置に配置されている。具体的には、一対の陰極リード(140)(140)は、これらと2つの巻回素子(110)(110)の陽極リード(130)(130)とが全て、図8に示されるB-B線上に並ぶ様に配置されている。従って、一対の陰極リード(140)(140)は、一対の陽極リード(130)(130)と同様、電解コンデンサの中心軸に対して180°回転対称となる位置を有している。
 図9に示す様に、金属ケース(160)の内周面(161)と、各巻回素子(110)の陰極層(112)の外周面(113)との間には、開口縁(162)の近傍位置に、金属ケース(160)の導電部と陰極層(112)とを電気的に接続する導電性接着剤(170)が介在している。
 従って、各巻回素子(110)の陰極層(112)と金属ケース(160)とは、該巻回素子(110)の陽極リード(130)の近傍位置にて導電性接着剤(170)を通じて互いに電気的に導通し、これにより、各陰極リード(140)は、該陰極リード(140)に対応する巻回素子(110)の陽極リード(130)の近傍位置にて、金属ケース(160)と導電性接着剤(170)を介して該巻回素子(110)の陰極層(112)の外周面(113)に電気的に接続されている。
 図9に示す様に、金属ケース(160)の開口は、樹脂材やゴム材等から成る封口材(180)により封止されている。ここで、各巻回素子(110)の陽極リード(130)は、その先端部を封口材(180)の表面から外側に突出させて、該封口材(180)によって支持されている。この様にして、各巻回素子(110)は、金属ケース(160)内の所定の位置に固定されている。
 尚、封口材(180)としてゴム材を用いる場合、封口材(180)を金属ケース(160)の開口に挿入した後、金属ケース(160)の開口縁部をかしめることにより、封口材(180)は金属ケース(160)に固定され、これにより、金属ケース(160)の開口が封止される。
 上記電解コンデンサにおいては、各陰極リード(140)とこれに対応する巻回素子(110)の陽極リード(130)とのリード間距離が小さく、且つ、各陰極リード(140)は、該陰極リード(140)に対応する巻回素子(110)の陽極リード(130)の近傍位置にて、該巻回素子(110)の陰極層(112)の外周面(113)に電気的に接続されている。従って、陽極リード(130)と陰極リード(140)との間に生じるループインダクタンスは小さく、このため、電解コンデンサの等価直列インダクタンス(ESL)は小さい。
 又、上記電解コンデンサにおいては、各陰極リード(140)と金属ケース(160)の外周面(164)とが同一面上に揃っている。ここで、金属ケース(160)の外周面により電解コンデンサの外周面が構成されているので、各陰極リード(140)は、電解コンデンサの外周面と同一面上の位置に配置されることになる。よって、上記電解コンデンサを回路基板に搭載する場合、陰極リード(140)を負荷回路に近接させることが出来る。陰極リード(140)を負荷回路に近接させることにより、陰極リード(140)と負荷回路との配線距離が短くなり、その結果、電解コンデンサと負荷回路との間に生じる等価直列インダクタンス(ESL)が小さくなる。
 更に、上記電解コンデンサにおいては、各陰極リード(140)とこれに対応する巻回素子(110)の陽極リード(130)との間にコンデンサ成分が形成され、該コンデンサ成分が、電解コンデンサに配備されている巻回素子(110)の数だけ並列に接続されることになる。従って、各陰極リード(140)とこれに対応する巻回素子(110)の陽極リード(130)との間に生じる等価直列インダクタンス(ESL)及び等価直列抵抗(ESR)を考慮すると、上記電解コンデンサには、コンデンサ成分、ESL、ESRの直列回路が巻回素子(110)の数だけ並列に接続された等価回路が形成されることになる。よって、電解コンデンサの静電容量は、巻回素子(110)の数に比例して大きくなる一方、電解コンデンサのESL及びELRは、巻回素子(110)の数に反比例して小さくなる。
 図8に示す様に上記電解コンデンサにおいては、該電解コンデンサの中心軸に対して、2つの巻回素子(110)(110)の陽極リード(130)(130)が180°回転対称となる位置を有すると共に、一対の陰極リード(140)(140)も180°回転対称となる位置を有している。従って、上記電解コンデンサを所定の姿勢で回路基板に設置すべき場合に、該電解コンデンサが、その中心軸回りに所定の姿勢から180°回転した姿勢で回路基板に設置された場合でも、電解コンデンサは所定の電気特性を発揮することが出来る。
 図11は、第2の実施形態に係る電解コンデンサの第1変形例を、金属ケース(160)の底面壁(163)(図7参照)とは逆側から見た平面図である。図11に示す様に、電解コンデンサには、巻回素子(110)が4つ設けられていてもよい。この場合、4つの巻回素子(110)~(110)は、図11に示す様に金属ケース(160)の内周面(161)に沿って円陣に並べられ、これにより、4つ巻回素子(110)~(110)は、金属ケース(160)の内周面(161)に近接配置されることになる。又、金属ケース(160)には、各巻回素子(110)に1つずつ対応して陰極リード(140)が4つ設けられることになる。
 図12は、第2の実施形態に係る電解コンデンサの第2変形例を、金属ケース(160)の底面壁(163)(図7参照)とは逆側から見た平面図である。図12に示す様に、巻回素子(110)の巻回体(120)は、その巻回軸に対する断面が略半円形状となる様に陽極箔が巻回されたものであってもよい。本変形例に係る電解コンデンサにおいては、金属ケース(160)の容積に対する巻回素子(110)の体積の割合が大きくなるので、該電解コンデンサの単位体積あたりの静電容量が大きくなる。
 第2の実施形態に係る電解コンデンサにおいて、金属ケース(160)の内周面(161)と、各巻回素子(110)の陰極層(112)の外周面(113)との間には、開口縁(162)の近傍位置だけでなく、陰極層(112)の外周面(113)に沿って全体に導電性接着剤(170)が介在していてもよい。
 又、第2の実施形態に係る電解コンデンサにおいて、一対の陰極リード(140)(140)は、金属ケース(160)の内周面(161)に接続されてもよい。この場合でも、各陰極リード(140)は、電解コンデンサの外周面の近傍位置に配置されることになる。よって、上述した電解コンデンサと同様、電解コンデンサを回路基板に搭載する場合、該電解コンデンサの陰極リード(140)を負荷回路に近接させることが出来る。
 更に、図13に示す様に、金属ケース(160)、具体的には金属ケース(160)の導電部には、一対の陰極リード(140)(140)が一体に形成されていてもよい。
 尚、本発明の各部構成は上記実施の形態に限らず、特許請求の範囲に記載の技術的範囲内で種々の変形が可能である。例えば、上記第1及び第2の実施形態に係る電解コンデンサにおいて、巻回体を構成する陽極箔の間にセパレータを介在させない構成を採用することが出来る。
 又、上記第1及び第2の実施形態に係る電解コンデンサにおいて、金属ケースに替えて、1又は複数の巻回素子を収容する有底筒状の絶縁ケースの内周面に導電層が形成されたものを採用してもよい。この場合、陰極リードは、導電層に電気的に接続されることになる。

Claims (6)

  1.  表面に誘電体層が形成された陽極箔を巻回した巻回体と、前記巻回体の内部及び外周面上に形成された電解質層と、前記巻回体の外周面上にて前記電解質層の表面に形成された陰極層と、前記陽極箔に電気的に接続された複数の陽極リードと、各陽極リードに1つずつ対応して前記陰極層に電気的に接続された複数の陰極リードとを具え、
     各陽極リードは、前記巻回体の巻回端面から引き出され、各陰極リードは、該陰極リードに対応する陽極リードの近傍位置にて、前記陰極層の外周面に電気的に接続されている電解コンデンサ。
  2.  前記巻回体は、複数枚の前記陽極箔を巻回して形成されたものであり、各陽極箔の1箇所又は複数箇所に前記陽極リードが電気的に接続されている請求項1に記載の電解コンデンサ。
  3.  前記巻回体は、前記陽極箔が1枚だけ巻回されたものであり、該陽極箔の複数箇所に前記陽極リードが電気的に接続されている請求項1に記載の電解コンデンサ。
  4.  前記巻回体を収容する有底筒状の導電ケースを更に具え、該導電ケースは、その導電部が少なくとも内周面に露出しており、該導電ケースの内周面と前記陰極層の外周面との間には、少なくとも各陽極リードの近傍位置に、導電ケースの導電部と陰極層とを電気的に接続する導電部材が介在し、前記複数の陰極リードは、前記導電ケースの導電部に接続されて該導電ケースと導電部材を介して前記陰極層の外周面に電気的に接続されている請求項1乃至請求項3の何れかに記載の電解コンデンサ。
  5.  表面に誘電体層が形成された陽極箔を巻回した巻回体と、前記巻回体の内部及び外周面上に形成された電解質層と、前記巻回体の外周面上にて前記電解質層の表面に形成された陰極層と、前記陽極箔に電気的に接続されて、前記巻回体の巻回端面から引き出された陽極リードとを有する複数の巻回素子と、
     前記複数の巻回素子を収容する有底筒状の導電ケースと、
     各巻回素子に1つずつ対応して、前記導電ケースの導電部に電気的に接続された複数の陰極リードとを具え、
     各巻回素子は、前記導電ケースの内周面に近接配置されると共に、各陰極リードは、該陰極リードの対応する巻回素子の近傍位置に配置され、
     前記導電ケースの導電部は、少なくとも導電ケースの内周面に露出しており、該導電ケースの内周面と各巻回素子の陰極層の外周面との間には、少なくとも該巻回素子の陽極リードの近傍位置に、導電ケースの導電部と陰極層とを電気的に接続する導電部材が介在している電解コンデンサ。
  6.  前記導電ケースの導電部と前記複数の陰極リードとが一体に形成されている請求項4又は請求項5に記載の電解コンデンサ。
