Description

DISPOSITIVO DE PROPULSIÓN DE EMBARCACIONES  BOAT PROPULSION DEVICE
OBJETO DE LA INVENCIÓN  OBJECT OF THE INVENTION
The present invention, as expressed in the statement of this specification, refers to a propulsion device for boats used to provide movement of ships and usually has a propeller diameter between 900 and 7,000 mm.
The object of the invention is to achieve a propeller shaft-propulsion equipment in which the blades are interchangeable and are fixed to the propulsion shaft itself with no screws and no adjustment between male and female cones. This assembly eliminates the tensions normally located around the fixing screws of the blades and in the adjustment of cones, in addition to increasing the robustness of the assembly and saving assembly, disassembly and adjustment times. This invention also reduces the number of components of the assembly, making it simpler and more compact.
The invention is therefore situated in the field of the naval industry and more particularly in the field of machinery and accessories for the mobilization of ships and / or naval propulsion.
ANTECEDENTES DE LA INVENCIÓN  BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
Usually the propulsion of fixed pitch with interchangeable blades of the propellers of the boats is constituted said propulsion by means of the functional combination of an axis, a core, several blades and a series of fixing elements. Through this core, the propeller receives the movement with the collaboration of the corresponding transmission, and the corresponding engine. At the same time, a plurality of blades distributed in its periphery are assembled by screws to this core.
En un principio la fijación de la hélice al eje de propulsión se lleva a cabo mediante un ajuste entre dos conos, macho y hembra, a lo que hay que sumarle el ensamblaje de las palas al núcleo por mediación de varios tornillos y bulones, lo que supone varios problemas que se centran fundamentalmente en los siguientes aspectos: Initially, the fixing of the propeller to the propulsion shaft is carried out by means of an adjustment between two cones, male and female, to which we must add the assembly of the blades to the core by means of several screws and bolts, which involves several problems that focus primarily on the following aspects:
- Tensions are generated located in the holes for the passage of the aforementioned screws, due to their tightening.
- The blades are weakened by the execution of the holes necessary for the passage of these screws.
- The assembly and disassembly of the propeller and the blades is slow and laborious, having to adjust two cones and assemble and disassemble a considerable number of screws.
In the assembly and disassembly operations, numerous tools and tools are necessary, expensive and in many cases difficult to find.
Usually the mounting screws must be welded by their heads to prevent their loss, so this work and equipment is necessary in the place of assembly.
- To ensure the tightness of the assembly, in conventional propellers it is necessary in many cases to place rubber seals or similar to prevent any liquid from entering from the outside through the holes, which also has a greater structural complexity and in a longer time of assembly and disassembly e.
- The connection of the propeller to the shaft is common to be carried out by means of hydraulic draft, which introduces tensions in the assembly while requiring a very expensive pressure equipment.

DESCRIPCIÓN DE LA INVENCIÓN  DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION
In order to achieve the objectives and avoid the inconveniences mentioned in the previous sections, the The invention proposes a propeller device for boats characterized in that the terminal section of the propulsion shaft incorporates means for directly and radially fixing on it a series of independent blades constituting the propeller, so that such fixing means are not carried out. by screwing, but by a tongue and groove coupling, for which purpose the terminal section of the propulsion shaft adopts a prismatic configuration, whose number of faces coincides with the number of blades that participate in the propeller (usually four), incorporating in each of said lateral faces longitudinal guides for tongue and groove coupling by longitudinal slider. The blades are fixed directly to the propulsion shaft by means of a complementary rib of said slider or longitudinal groove.
Said grooves die in a base flange as an annular extension that acts as a stop for the assembly of the blades, which will be perfectly fixed and adjusted by means of a cap on the opposite side. This cap will be fixed to the terminal section of the propulsion shaft by threading or by means of one or more screws that can be easily removed from the stern face.
Grooves and ribs can configure a dovetail coupling, a "T" shaped section coupling or any other that ensures the stability of the blades in operation.
The set described is complemented by the aforementioned cap, which, once the blades are mounted on the shaft, are screwed to the latter, constituting the axial retention means for said blades, which are easily removable.
This tongue and groove assembly, that is to say without screws, eliminates the aforementioned localized tensions, normally found in the holes for the passage of conventional fixing screws due to their tightening.
The grooves allow a rapid change of the shovels by simply disassembling the cap that closes the assembly.
As there are no threaded holes for fixing the blades, damage to them cannot occur, as is the case with fixed-pitch propellers with conventional interchangeable blades.
Given that 95% of the propeller repair operations are aimed at the blades, and only 5% of the core, as the propeller of this equipment has removable blades, only those blades require repair because they are replaceable.
In case of damage to any of the blades, they can be replaced without resorting to a dry dock or shipyard, since the disassembly and assembly process is extremely simple while it can be done with the boat afloat.
The blades can be mounted "in situ" with ease, which has a positive impact on transport, storage and handling costs with respect to a standard fixed pitch propeller.
The design of the new device of the invention avoids the adjustment between propeller core and propulsion shaft because in this case it is the propulsion shaft itself that directly houses the blades. This will not require the adjustment between the male (shaft) and female (propeller) cones, which are inevitable in conventional assembly.
Next, in order to facilitate a better understanding of this descriptive report and forming an integral part thereof, some figures are attached in which the object of the invention has been shown as an illustrative and non-limiting nature.

DESCRIPCIÓN DE LA FORMA. DE REALIZACIÓN PREFERIDA  DESCRIPTION OF THE FORM. PREFERRED EMBODIMENT
Considering the numbering adopted in the figures, the boat propulsion device is determined from propeller 1 which has several independent blades 2 that are fixed directly on the terminal section 3 of a propulsion shaft 4 that rotates driven by the engine of the ship.
Said terminal section 3 of the propulsion shaft 4 comprises a prismatic structure with a base flange 5 of axial retention in one direction, which serves as a stop element of the blades 2 when they are coupled on the different lateral faces 6 of the terminal section 3 of the axis of propulsion 4.
Thus, the fixing of the independent blades 2 on the terminal section 3 of the propulsion shaft 4 is carried out by means of a tongue and groove coupling through grooves 7 and ribs 8 that can be arranged interchangeably on said lateral faces of the terminal section 3 and heads 9 of the independent blades 2.
Normally the grooves 7 will be arranged longitudinally on the lateral faces 6 of the terminal section 3 of the propulsion shaft 4, while the ribs 8 will be arranged on the heads 9 of the independent blades 2 forming the propeller 1.
The axial fixation of the blades 2 to prevent them from leaving their location outwards is carried out by means of a front cap 10 comprising an axially set and immobilized assembly completing a hydrodynamic geometry.
Said front cap 10 is fixed to the terminal section 3 of the propulsion shaft 4 by means of screws 11, although it could also be fixed directly by means of threading.
In the present invention, the terminal section 3 of the propulsion shaft 4 has the peculiarity that in each of its lateral faces 6 in parallel arrangement to its own propulsion axis 4, it incorporates one or several grooves 7 in dovetail ( or other configuration), intended to receive complementary ribs 8 of which each independent blade 2 is provided in its head 9.
Although a dovetail configuration for these tongue and groove coupling means has been depicted and described, it is evident that the coupling can be made with any other type of grooves and ribs, such as "T" shaped elements and in general by any type of strangled mouth groove.
Finally, on the end of the propulsion shaft 4 and opposite the base flange 5 that acts as a stop of the assembly, that is to say on the base of attack for the independent blades 2, the cap 10 is mounted, so that after the assembly of the independent blades 2, it is solidly attached to the propulsion shaft 4 by direct threading to the propulsion shaft 4 or set of screws 11 as previously mentioned, compacting the entire assembly and immobilizing the heads 9 of said blades 2 in axial direction, in collaboration with the base flange 5 of the propulsion shaft 4 itself.
Logically, in the head 9 of each independent blade 2 and on both sides of the respective rib 8, flat surfaces are established for a perfect adaptation to the lateral faces 6 of the terminal section 3 of the propulsion shaft 4.
The ribs 8 are arranged on the front faces 12 of the heads 9 of the independent blades 2, front faces 12 that are complementary to the side faces 6 of the terminal section 3, contacting each other faces.
