Abstract

본 발명은 기존 실린더형 내연기관의 진동과 무게를 획기적으로 줄이고, 구조가 간단하여 제작비를 절감함과 동시에 크랭크 축을 통하지 않고 직접 회전력을 발생시킴으로써 기계적인 효율을 증가시키고, 압축기와 힘 발생기를 분리하여 용도에 적합한 엔진의 설계가 용이한 분리형 로터리 엔진을 개발할 목적으로 창안되었다. 도 1에 도시된 본 발명은 원형으로 내부 단면형상을 만든 하우징(1, 1'), 그 하우징 내부 원형공간의 중심을 축으로 하여 한쪽은 하우징에 접촉하고 다른 한쪽은 하우징과 간격을 유지하며 회전하는 원형, 타원형, 혹은 원형과 타원형을 조합하여 만든 형상의 로터(3, 3'), 한쪽이 하우징(1, 1') 상부에 힌지로 체결되고 다른 한쪽은 회전하는 로터 외면(4, 4)에 접촉하여 압축과 팽창 과정에서 압축공기와 연소가스의 누압을 방지하여 엔진이 작동되도록 하는 힌지베인(hinged vane)(9, 9')으로 각 각 구성된 압축기와 힘 발생기에, 일방통행 체크밸브(11)와 힘발생기 로터(3')의 회전 위치에 따라 개폐가 조종되는 압축공기밸브(13) 사이에서 고압의 압축공기를 저장하는 압축공기탱크(12), 상기 압축공기탱크에서 고속으로 연소실(7)에 방출되는 압축공기에 연료를 분사하는 연료노즐(15), 그리고 연소실(7)에서 연료를 연소시키는 점화장치(16)를 추가하고, 배기공간(6-4)의 끝부분에서 연소가스를 엔진 밖으로 배출하는 가스배기구(18), 그리고 압축기의 공기 흡입공간(6-1)의 선단에서 압축기 밖의 공기가 유입되는 통로인 공기흡입구(17)를 설치하여 완전한 엔진을 형성한다. 이 엔진은 로터 1회전에 1번 연소하고, 로터가 하우징 내에서 편심 되지 않고 정중앙에 있으며, 연소가스의 팽창행정이 매우 길어 로터리 엔진(반켈 엔진)보다 진동이 작고 엔진의 효율이 향상되며 또, 압축기와 힘 발생기가 동일 회전축 상에 독립적으로 구성되어 각 각의 크기 변경이 용이하므로 목적에 적합한 엔진 설계가 가능한 장점이 있다.
