Abstract

Disclosed are an IPTV receiver and a method for downloading content for same. The method for downloading content for the IPTV receiver according to one embodiment of the present invention comprises the steps of: receiving BCG (Broadband Content Guide) information including metadata; and parsing the BCG information and the metadata, and acquiring additional content information from the metadata, wherein said additional content information includes location information of an OICD (Open Internet Content Delivery) provider, for accessing the OICD provider which manages a P2P (Peer to Peer) network. The BCG information and the additional content information are used in generating a program guide, and the program guide includes information for additional content provided through the P2P network.
