Abstract

The invention relates to an electric module for an automobile, comprising an electric housing (5) and a first connection means (25) for interacting with an associated second connection means of a battery (7) of said vehicle for electrically connecting said housing (5) to said battery (7). According to the invention, the first connection means (25) is a non-reversible connection means that secures the connection between the housing (5) and the battery (7). The invention also relates to an electric device for an automobile, comprising a battery and such a module.

  Electrical module of a motor vehicle and corresponding electrical device

  
The invention relates to an electric module of an electric vehicle comprising an electrical box intended to be powered by a battery of the vehicle and a connection means of the module for cooperating with an associated connection means of the battery to provide the electrical connection between the case and the battery. The invention also relates to a corresponding electrical device comprising such an electrical module and a battery.

  
An electrical box generally comprises a plurality of fuses or overvoltage and / or overcurrent protection components, and a vehicle power distribution circuit, more specifically different equipment of the vehicle for performing certain functions of the vehicle.

  
For example, comfort functions such as the management of the temperature inside the passenger compartment or basic functions such as the braking system.

  
In practice a comfort function is a function that we accept not to see assured while a basic function is an essential function for the vehicle. Generally, the connection between the housing and the battery is provided by a screw / nut system. However, with such a system, the housing and the battery can be disconnected, for example, following a bad re-connection of the housing and a changed battery.

  
The invention therefore aims to provide a control box does not have the disadvantages of the prior art.

  
For this purpose, the subject of the invention is an electrical module of a motor vehicle comprising an electrical box and a first connection means intended to cooperate with a second associated connection means of a battery of said vehicle for electrically connecting said box to said battery, characterized in that the first connection means is an irreversible connection means, securing the connection between said housing and said battery. Thus, once delivered to the manufacturer for mounting in the motor vehicle, said electrical module allows to irreversibly connect the electrical box to a battery of the vehicle.

  
Said housing may further comprise one or more of the following characteristics, taken separately or in combination: said irreversible connection means comprises a breakable element comprising:

  
a first part intended to cooperate with said second connection means of said battery to ensure electrical contact between said housing and said battery,

  
a second part making it possible to fix said first part, and a rupture initiation zone between said first and second parts, so that said second part can be detached once the connection is established between said housing and said battery while preventing any disassembly of said first part;

  
said breakable element is a self-breaking nut whose first part is threaded to be mounted on a screw of said first connection means, and is intended to cooperate with said second connection means so as to clamp said second connection means against said casing;

  
said casing includes a power distribution circuit having a conductive pad to be electrically connected to a terminal of said battery; The invention also relates to an electrical device in a motor vehicle comprising a battery characterized in that it comprises such an electrical module, said housing is connected to said battery via said first irreversible connection means and said second means of associated connection.

  
Said device may further comprise one or more of the following features, taken separately or in combination:

  
said first irreversible connection means comprises a screw and a self-locking nut whose first threaded portion is mounted on the screw irreversibly, and said second connection means is inserted between said housing and said first threaded portion of said nut, said nut being broken at the end of said first threaded portion; said second connection means of said battery is in the form of a connection terminal;

  
said housing and said battery are connected to an alternator.

In FIG. 1, there is shown a power supply unit 3, and an electrical box 5. The power supply unit 3 comprises a battery 7 having a positive polarity terminal (+) and a negative polarity terminal (-). This battery 7 is connected by its positive terminal (+) on the one hand to an alternator 9 and on the other hand to the starter 11 of the vehicle.

  
The housing 5, said battery start, is intended to be connected to the battery 7, for example to the positive (+) of the battery 7. In addition, this housing 5 comprises:

  
a plurality of fuses 13 or components for protection against overvoltages and / or overcurrents, and

  
a circuit 15 for controlling the electrical functions of the vehicle, comprising, for example, a power relay 17. This circuit 15 receives, on the one hand, control inputs 19 coming from a control device (not shown) that can be manipulated by a user of the vehicle and controls the execution of the corresponding electrical functions 21.

  
An example of an electric function 21 executed is the starting of the vehicle engine as a function of the position of the contact key manipulated by the user. This circuit 15 is further connected to an electronic mass M of the vehicle.

  
The casing 5 furthermore has a power distribution circuit to which the components of the control circuit 15 and the plurality of fuses 13 are connected. This circuit includes a conductive pad 23 intended to be connected to the battery 7. For this purpose a first connection means 25 cooperating with a second associated connection means provided on the battery 7 is provided.

  
In order to secure the connection of the housing 5 and the battery 7, the first connection means 25 is irreversible. The term "irreversible" means that the first connection means 25 can not be dismounted. In addition, the removal of the irreversible connection means leads to an inevitable destruction thereof. As a result, an unqualified person can not disassemble this connection means and may have trouble reassembling it.

  
The housing 5 and the first connection means 25 then form an electrical module delivered to the manufacturer to be mounted in the vehicle. Alternatively, the connection means 25 may be mounted at the manufacturer.

  
In the example illustrated in Figures 2 and 3a, 3b, the first connection means 25 comprises a screw 27 (see Figure 2) projecting from the housing 5 at the conductive pad 23 and a self-breaking nut 29 (Figures 3a and 3b) which breaks when a predetermined breaking torque is applied to the nut 29. This self-breaking nut 29 therefore comprises:

  
a first threaded portion 29a,

  
a second part 29b which makes it possible to mount the first part 29a on the screw 27, and

  
a rupture initiation zone 29c between the first 29a and second 29b parts of the self-breaking nut 29. Such a self-breaking nut 29 does not require specific tools and can be screwed with a standard screwdriver with measurement of couple.

  
In addition, the second connection means provided on the battery 7 is for example made in the form of a connection terminal (not shown).

  
According to an exemplary embodiment (not shown), this connection lug comprises on the one hand a ring to surround the positive terminal (+) of the battery 7 and on the other hand an extension lug to come into contact with a beach conductive 23 on the housing 5. An additional hole is then provided on the extension lug of the connecting lug making it possible to thread the lug on the screw 27 so as to press it against the conductive pad 23 for the connection between the casing 5 and the battery 7.

  
Thus, during assembly in the vehicle, the connecting lug is inserted between the conductive pad 23 and the nut 29 which makes it possible to tighten this connection lug against the conductive pad 23.

  
When the tightening torque exerted on the nut 29 reaches the breaking torque, the second portion 29b of the nut 29 disengages and the first portion 29a remains fixed by tightening the connecting lug against the conductive pad 23.

  
The breaking torque is a function of the rupture initiation zone and can therefore be determined so as to ensure that the first portion 29a ensures a correct tightening of the connection lug against the conductive pad 23 at the time of breaking of the nut 29.

  
In addition, after the separation of the two parts 29a, 29b, the first part 29a can no longer be removed, thus avoiding any disconnection between the housing 5 and the battery 7.

  
According to an alternative not shown, it is possible to weld the extension of the connecting lug against the conductive pad 23 to provide an irreversible connection.

  
It is therefore understood that such an irreversible connection avoids a disconnection between the housing 5 and the battery 7, for example because of a bad implementation of the connection means.

Claims

REVENDICATIQNS
An electric module of a motor vehicle comprising an electric box (5) and a first connection means (25) for cooperating with a second associated connection means of a battery (7) of said vehicle for electrically connecting said box ( 5) to said battery (7), characterized in that the first connection means (25) is an irreversible connection means, securing the connection between said housing (5) and said battery (7).
2. Module according to claim 1, characterized in that said irreversible connection means (25) comprises a breakable element comprising:
a first part intended to cooperate with said second connection means of said battery to ensure electrical contact between said housing and said battery,
a second part making it possible to fix said first part, and
- a breaking initiation zone between said first and second parts, so that said second part can be detached once the connection established between said housing and said battery by preventing disassembly of said first part.

Module according to claim 2, characterized in that said breakable element is a nut (29) self-breaking whose first portion (29a) is threaded to be mounted on a screw (27) of said first connection means, and is intended to cooperate with said second connection means so as to clamp said second connection means against said housing (5).
4. Module according to one of claims 1 to 3, characterized in that said housing (5) comprises a power distribution circuit having a conductive pad (23) intended to be electrically connected to a terminal of said battery (7). ). 5. Electrical device in a motor vehicle comprising a battery
(7) characterized in that it comprises an electrical module according to any preceding claim, wherein said housing (5) is connected to said battery (7) via said first irreversible connecting means (25) and said second associated connection means.
6. Device according to claim 5, characterized in that said first irreversible connecting means (25) comprises a screw (27) and a self-breaking nut
(29) of which a first threaded portion (29a) is mounted on the screw (27) irreversibly, and in that said second connection means is inserted between said housing (5) and said first threaded portion (29a) of said nut (29), said nut (29) being broken at the end of said first threaded portion (29a).
7. Device according to one of claims 5 or 6, characterized in that said second connection means of said battery (7) is in the form of a connection terminal.
8. Device according to any one of claims 5 to 7, characterized in that said housing (5) and said battery (7) are connected to an alternator (9).
