Abstract

L'invention concerne une suspension avant de véhicule automobile comprenant une butée à billes (1) dans laquelle les billes (2) sont disposées entre une bague supérieure fixe (3) et une bague inférieure (5) mobile en rotation par rapport à la bague supérieure (3) et un ressort hélicoïdal (6) en appui axial contre un élément d'appui (7) disposé sous la butée à billes (1), caractérisée en ce qu'entre ledit élément d'appui (7) et ladite bague inférieure (5) est intercalé un élément annulaire (11) suffisamment rigide pour répartir de façon homogène sur la bague inférieure (5) les pressions de contact exercées par le ressort (6) sur ledit élément d'appui (7).

Description

SUSPENSION AVANT DE VEHICULE AUTOMOBILE COMPRENANT UNE BUTEE A BILLES SOLLICITEE AXI ALEMENT PAR UN RESSORT
La présente invention concerne une suspension avant de véhicule automobile comprenant une butée à billes sollicitée axialement par un ressort hélicoïdal.
Une suspension de ce type est décrite par exemple dans les documents FR 2850905 et US 2007/0009190.
Dans ce type de suspension la butée à billes permet la rotation de la roue portée par la suspension.
Une suspension connue de ce type est illustrée schématiquement par la figure 1 qui montre une coupe partielle dans un plan axial de la partie supérieure de cette suspension.
On voit sur cette figure, une butée à billes 1 dans laquelle les billes 2 sont disposées entre une bague supérieure 3 fixe par rapport à une surface 4 de support de la caisse d'un véhicule automobile et une bague inférieure 5 mobile en rotation par rapport à la bague supérieure 3 suivant un axe X-X'.
Un ressort hélicoïdal 6 est en appui axial contre un élément d'appui 7 disposé sous la butée à billes 1.
Le ressort hélicoïdal 6 entoure un amortisseur 8. Dans l'exemple illustré par la figure 1, l'élément d'appui 7 est en contact direct avec la bague inférieure 5 de la butée à billes 1.
Les figures 2, 3 et 4 montrent que dans ce cas, les pressions de contact symbolisées par des flèches verticales, entre l'extrémité du ressort 6 et l'élément d'appui 7 sont réparties de façon très peu homogène sur le pourtour de cet élément d'appui, comme le montre l'enveloppe 9 de ces pressions, même si la résultante F des forces (voir figure 2) est sensiblement centrée sur l'axe X-X' de la butée 1. Les figures 3 et 4 montrent que la non uniformité des pressions exercées par le ressort 6 est presque intégralement transmise à la bague inférieure 5 sous la forme d'une flexion 10 de celle-ci suivant l'axe de la butée à billes.
Cette flexion 10 est également transmise par les billes 2 à la bague supérieure 3.
Cette non-uniformité de la répartition des pressions peut provoquer une usure rapide de la butée à billes soit directement, soit indirectement car la flexion 10 de la bague inférieure 5 peut causer des défauts d'étanchéité de la butée qui peuvent eux-mêmes entraîner l'usure de celle-ci.
Le but de la présente invention est de remédier à cet inconvénient. Ce but est atteint, selon l'invention, grâce à une suspension avant de véhicule automobile comprenant une butée à billes dans laquelle les billes sont disposées entre une bague supérieure fixe et une bague inférieure mobile en rotation par rapport à la bague supérieure et un ressort hélicoïdal en appui axial contre un élément d'appui disposé sous la butée à billes, caractérisée en ce qu'entre ledit élément d'appui et ladite bague inférieure est intercalé un élément annulaire suffisamment rigide pour répartir de façon homogène sur la bague inférieure les pressions de contact exercées par le ressort sur ledit élément d'appui.
Ainsi, l'élément annulaire rigide intercalé entre l'élément d'appui du ressort et la bague inférieure permet grâce à la répartition homogène des pressions exercées sur la bague de réduire l'usure de celle-ci.
Par ailleurs, on évite toute flexion locale de cette bague pouvant causer un défaut d'étanchéité de la butée à billes susceptible d'entraîner une usure rapide de celle-ci. Selon un premier mode de réalisation de l'invention, ledit élément annulaire comprend une partie tubulaire rigide dont le bord inférieur est en contact avec un bord périphérique dudit élément d'appui.
Cette partie tubulaire rigide assure ainsi une liaison rigide entre le bord périphérique de l'élément sur lequel s'appuient le ressort et la butée à billes.
Dans ce mode de réalisation, ladite partie tubulaire comporte à sa partie supérieure une partie annulaire dirigée vers l'axe de la butée à billes dont la face supérieure est en contact avec la bague inférieure de cette butée. De préférence, la surface inférieure de ladite partie annulaire est espacée de l'élément d'appui de façon à définir un espace annulaire vide entre ladite partie annulaire et cet élément d'appui.
Dans un second mode de réalisation, ledit élément annulaire est réalisé d'une seule pièce avec l'élément d'appui sur lequel s'appuie le ressort.
Dans ce mode de réalisation, ledit élément annulaire comprend une partie tubulaire rigide qui comporte une partie inférieure annulaire dirigée vers Taxe de la butée à billes dont la face inférieure est en contact avec le ressort.
De préférence, la partie tabulaire dudit élément annulaire comporte en outre une partie supérieure annulaire dirigée vers Taxe de la butée dont la face supérieure est en contact avec la bague inférieure de la butée à billes, cette partie supérieure annulaire étant séparée de la partie inférieure annulaire par une cavité annulaire ouverte vers Taxe de la butée.
L'élément annulaire rigide de la suspension selon l'invention peut être usiné ou moulé en métal ou en une matière synthétique rigide.
D'autres particularités et avantages de l'invention apparaîtront encore tout au long de la description ci- après.
Aux dessins annexés, donnés à titre d'exemples, non limitatifs : la figure 5 est une demi-vue en coupe partielle schématique d'un premier mode de réalisation, d'une suspension selon l'invention, la figure 6 est une demi-vue analogue à la figure 5 concernant un second mode de réalisation selon l'invention. La figure 5 représente une butée à billes 1 identique à celle représentée sur la figure 1 dans laquelle les billes 2 sont disposées entre une bague supérieure fixe 3 et une bague inférieure 5 mobile en rotation autour de l'axe X-X' par rapport à la bague supérieure 3 et un ressort hélicoïdal est en appui axial contre un élément d'appui 7.
Conformément à l'invention, entre l'élément d'appui 7 et la bague inférieure 5 de la butée à billes 1 est intercalé un élément annulaire 11 suffisamment rigide pour répartir de façon homogène sur la bague inférieure 5 les pressions de contact exercées par le ressort 6 sur l'élément d'appui 7.
Dans le mode de réalisation représenté sur la figure 5, l'élément annulaire 11 comprend une partie tabulaire rigide 12 dont le bord inférieur 12a est en contact avec un bord périphérique 7a de l'élément d'appui 7.
De plus, la partie tabulaire 12 comporte à sa partie supérieure une partie annulaire 13 dirigée vers l'axe X-X' de la butée à billes 1 dont la face supérieure 13a est en contact avec la totalité de la surface inférieure de la bague inférieure 5 de la butée à billes 1. Par ailleurs, le bord inférieur 5a de la bague 5 est en contact avec un épaulement 12b de l'élément tubulaire 12.
En outre, la surface inférieure 13a de la partie annulaire 13 est espacée de l'élément d'appui 7 de façon à définir un espace annulaire vide 14 entre la partie annulaire 13 et l'élément d'appui 7.
L'élément 12 intercalé entre l'élément d'appui 7 du ressort 6 et la bague 5 peut être usiné ou moulé en métal ou en matière synthétique suffisamment rigide.
L'essentiel est que cet élément 12 ne fléchisse pas du fait de la non uniformité des pressions appliquées sur le pourtour de l'élément d'appui 7 par le ressort 6, de façon à répartir ces pressions uniformément sur le pourtour de la bague inférieure 5.
Pour obtenir une telle rigidité, on peut jouer sur la nature du matériau constituant l'élément annulaire 11, sa longueur axiale et son épaisseur radiale.
Du fait de l'uniformité de la répartition des pressions exercées sur la bague inférieure 5 de la butée à billes, on prolonge la durée de vie de celle-ci et on évite les risques de défaut d'étanchéité de celle-ci ce qui contribue à prolonger la durée de vie de la butée à billes 1. Dans le mode de réalisation représenté sur la figure 6, l'élément annulaire 15 est réalisé d'une seule pièce en métal ou en matière synthétique rigide avec l'élément d'appui sur lequel s'appuie le ressort 6.
Dans cet exemple, l'élément annulaire 15 comprend une partie tubulaire rigide 16 qui comporte une partie inférieure annulaire 17 dirigée vers l'axe X-X' de la butée à billes 1.
La face inférieure 17a de cette partie 17 est en contact avec le ressort 6 et joue donc le rôle de l'élément d'appui 7 de la réalisation selon la figure 5. La partie tubulaire 16 de l'élément annulaire 15 comporte en outre une partie supérieure annulaire 18 dirigée vers l'axe X-X' de la butée 1 dont la face supérieure 18a est en contact avec toute la surface de la bague inférieure 5 de la butée à billes 1.
Cette partie supérieure annulaire 18 est séparée de la partie inférieure annulaire 17 par une cavité annulaire 19 ouverte vers l'axe X-X' de la butée. La réalisation représentée sur la figure 6 présente les mêmes avantages que celle représentée sur la figure 5.
Elle présente cependant l'avantage supplémentaire que l'élément annulaire 15 est réalisé d'une seule pièce, ce qui réduit le coût de fabrication.

Claims

REVENDICATIONS
1. Suspension avant de véhicule automobile comprenant une butée à billes (1) dans laquelle les billes (2) sont disposées entre une bague supérieure fixe (3) et une bague inférieure (5) mobile en rotation par rapport à la bague supérieure (3) et un ressort hélicoïdal (6) en appui axial contre un élément d'appui (7, 17) disposé sous la butée à billes (1), caractérisée en ce qu'entre ledit élément d'appui (7, 17) et ladite bague inférieure (5) est intercalé un élément annulaire (11, 15) suffisamment rigide pour répartir de façon homogène sur la bague inférieure (5) les pressions de contact exercées par le ressort (6) sur ledit élément d'appui (7, 17), l'élément annulaire (11) comprenant une partie tubulaire rigide (12) dont le bord inférieur (12a) est en contact avec un bord périphérique (7a) dudit élément d'appui (7).
2. Suspension selon la revendication 1, caractérisée en ce que ladite partie tubulaire (12) comporte à sa partie supérieure une partie annulaire (13) dirigée vers l'axe (X-X') de la butée à billes (1) dont la face supérieure (13a) est en contact avec la bague inférieure (5) de cette butée.
3. Suspension selon l'une des revendications 1 ou 2, caractérisée en ce que la surface inférieure de ladite partie annulaire (13) est espacée de l'élément d'appui (7) de façon à définir un espace annulaire vide (14) entre ladite partie annulaire (13) et cet élément d'appui (7).
4. Suspension selon la revendication 1, caractérisée en ce que l'élément annulaire (15) est réalisé d'une seule pièce avec l'élément d'appui (17) sur lequel s'appuie le ressort (6).
5. Suspension selon la revendication 4, caractérisée en ce que ledit élément annulaire (15) comprend une partie tubulaire rigide (16) qui comporte une partie inférieure annulaire (17) dirigée vers l'axe (X-X') de la butée à billes (1) dont la face inférieure (17a) est en contact avec le ressort (6).
6. Suspension selon la revendication 5, caractérisée en ce que la partie tubulaire (16) dudit élément annulaire (15) comporte en outre une partie supérieure annulaire (18) dirigée vers l'axe (X-X*) de la butée (1) dont la face supérieure (18a) est en contact avec la bague inférieure (5) de la butée à billes (1), cette partie supérieure annulaire (18) étant séparée de la partie inférieure annulaire (17) par une cavité annulaire (19) ouverte vers Taxe de la butée (1).
7. Suspension selon Tune des revendications 1 à 6, caractérisée en ce que ledit élément annulaire (11, 15) est en métal ou matière synthétique rigide.
