Abstract

A landing craft (20) is disclosed that includes a forward v-shaped keel section (26), and a tapered ramp (24) that forms the bow of the vessel. The ramp (24) incorporates bias means such that when lowered to ground, further downward force can be applied so as to provide a grounding edge that supports a proportion of the total displacement of the craft, consequently counteracting instability arising grounding of the v-shaped keel section (26).
