Abstract

A cosmetic brush having a stem and a brush part is disclosed. The brush part, comprising bristles formed through injection molding, is provided on an end of the stem. The brush part includes a base for coupling the brush part to the stem, and the bristles which are integrated with the base through injection molding have a fine thickness. Each of the bristles is formed through injection molding to have thickness ranging from 0.05mm to 0.15mm. The brush part is manufactured through injection molding, thus enabling the use of various materials and affording various designs, therefore improving the competitiveness of a product. Further, structure and manufacturing process are simplified, so that manufacturing and equipment costs are reduced.

Description
COSMETIC BRUSH
Technical Field
[1] The present invention relates, in general, to cosmetic brushes and, more particularly, to a cosmetic brush, which is dipped into a liquid cosmetic so as to apply makeup. Background Art
[2] Generally, when a user applies makeup by dipping a brush into a liquid cosmetic, such as rouge, lip gloss, mascara, eyeliner, or nail polish, a cosmetics case, having a cap which is provided on the lower portion of a stem in which bristles are implanted, and a barrel which is coupled with the cap in a threaded manner, is used. When the cap is fastened to the barrel so that the stem and the bristles are held in the barrel, the cosmetics case can be conveniently carried. At the same time, when the cap is separated from the barrel, the user can apply makeup using the brush covered with the cosmetic liquid.
[3] In particular, a makeup case for lip products has been proposed, which is constructed so that liquid rouge and lip gloss are injected, respectively, into two barrels, and two stems are coupled, respectively, to the upper and lower portions of a metal grip cylinder, and the barrels are fastened, respectively, to caps provided on the upper and lower portions of the grip cylinder in a threaded manner.
[4] In a makeup brush for lip products coupled to each barrel, an adhesive is applied to each cap provided on the lower portion of the corresponding stem. Subsequently, the caps are inserted into the grip cylinder in such a way as to face each other. In this state, the adhesive is hardened so that the caps are secured to the grip cylinder.
[5] However, the conventional method of applying the adhesive to the outer portion of each cap and inserting the cap into the grip pipe so as to secure the cap to the grip cylinder is problematic in that the assembling work is complicated and difficult, and it takes a long time to harden the adhesive, and thus work efficiency of the entire process is low.
[6] Moreover, when the cap adheres to the grip cylinder using an industrial adhesive, such as bond, harmful elements of the adhesive injure a worker's health, and it is impossible to keep a work place pleasant because of a provocative odor. Disclosure of Invention
Technical Problem
[7] Accordingly, the present invention has been made keeping in mind the above problems occurring in the prior art, and an object of the present invention is to provide a cosmetic brush, in which a brush part is manufactured through injection molding, and especially, the brush part and a stem are manufactured through double injection molding.
Technical Solution
[8] In order to accomplish the above object, the present invention provides a cosmetic brush having a stem and a brush part, wherein the brush part, comprising bristles formed through injection molding, is provided on an end of the stem. [9] The brush part includes a base for coupling the brush part to the stem, and the bristles which are integrated with the base through injection molding and have a fine thickness. [10] Each of the bristles may be formed through injection molding to have a thickness ranging from 0.05mm to 0.15mm.
[11] Further, the brush part and the stem are formed through double injection molding.
[12] A stem protrusion may protrude from an end of the stem, and a base hole may be formed in the brush part to enclose the stem protrusion. [13] A stem hole may be recessed in an end of the stem, and a base protrusion may be provided on the brush part to be fitted into the stem hole. [14] The brush part and the stem are coupled to each other through fitting.
[15] A stem protrusion may protrude from an end of the stem, and a base hole may be formed in the brush part to enclose the stem protrusion. [16] Further, a stem hole may be recessed in an end of the stem, and a base protrusion may be provided on the brush part to be fitted into the stem hole. Advantageous Effects
[18] According to the present invention, a brush part is manufactured through injection molding, thus enabling the use of various materials and affording various designs, therefore improving the competitiveness of the product. [19] Further, according to the present invention, a brush part is manufactured through injection molding, thus simplifying a structure and a manufacturing process, and reducing manufacturing costs and equipment costs.

[27] Hereinafter, the preferred embodiments of the present invention will be described in detail with reference to the accompanying drawings.
[28] FIG. 1 is a perspective view illustrating a cosmetic brush according to the present invention. As shown in the drawing, the cosmetic brush of the present invention is dipped into a liquid cosmetic, such as rouge, lip gloss, mascara, eyeliner, or nail polish, so as to apply makeup. The cosmetic brush includes a bar-shaped stem 110 and a brush part 120 which is provided at an end of the stem 110 and comprises bristles 127.
[29] The stem 110 is manufactured to be long in the shape of a bar, so that the stem 110 can be easily put into or taken out from a barrel (not shown) which contains a cosmetic therein. Further, since the stem 110 is made of a hard material, the stem 110 is strong enough to prevent deformation when it is in use. A cap 130, which may be used as a handle, is coupled to an end of the stem 110, which is opposite the brush part 120. The cap 130 is fastened to a mouth of the barrel (not shown). Here, the cap 130 may be fastened to the barrel in a threaded method.
[30] That is, when the cap 130 is separated from the barrel, the stem 110 connected to the cap 130 is also separated from the barrel. In this state, a user can easily apply makeup using the brush part 120 covered with a cosmetic liquid.
[31] The brush part 120 includes a base 121 for coupling the brush part 120 to the stem
110, and bristles 127 which are very fine and are integrated with the base 121 through injection molding. Preferably, each bristle 127 is injection molded to have a fine thickness ranging from 0.05mm to 0.15mm. To this end, a micro mold may be used.
[32] Hereinafter, the micro mold will be described in brief. The micro mold is a mold which is used to form a micro part. As the technology for manufacturing a micro part, a Lithography, Electroforming and Molding (LIGA) process and silicon micro- machining technology are widely known.
[33] The technology will be described in brief. That is, the LIGA process is the method of forming a micro structure having a high aspect ratio through deep lithography using x- rays and electroplating. In a detailed description, a photoresist layer for x-rays, such as PMMA, is formed on a substrate to a desired thickness (about 0.1 to 1.0mm), and is patterned using a heavy metal, such as gold, as a material for absorbing x-rays, and is then used as a mask. [34] Thereafter, the resist is exposed by x-rays (SOR beam) which are radiated from a synchrotron.
[35] Since the x-ray SOR beam is superior from the aspects of linearity of travel, resolution, and transmissivity, exposure is possible with precision which is finer than one submicron for a thick resist.
[36] Thereafter, a resist structure is obtained through development. The resist structure is immersed into an electroplating solution, and an electroplating layer is formed on the conductive substrate.
[37] An injection molding process is performed using the plating layer as a mold, so that a pattern is impressed into the plastic.
[38] Further, based on the plastic mold manufactured through injection-molding, an electroplating process is performed again, so that a metallic structure is manufactured. Alternatively, ceramic powder is sintered into plastic, so that a ceramic structure may be manufactured.
[39] The silicon micromachining technology will be described below in detail. A silicon substrate is coated with a film, and a mask pattern is formed, through developing and printing, on the surface of the silicon substrate which is coated with the film. According to the pattern, an etching process is carried out. The process of removing unnecessary parts, the thermal treatment process, and the doping process are repeated, so that a desired micro part is manufactured.
[40] When the bristles 127 of the brush part 120 are formed using the above-mentioned micro mold, the bristles 127, which are much thinner and finer than those of a conventional brush part, are obtained.
[41] The bristles 127, which are fine and thin, are very soft and have superior absorbing ability, so that the sense of use is remarkably improved.
[42] Further, it is possible to freely design or form the brush part 120, so that various designs can be obtained.
[43] Such a brush part 120 is integrated with the stem 110 through double injection molding. Alternatively, after the brush part 120 and the stem 110 are separately manufactured, they may be coupled to each other through fitting or may be adhered to each other using an adhesive.
[44] FIG. 2 is a view illustrating a cosmetic brush according to a first embodiment of the present invention in a partial enlarged sectional view and a detailed view. The drawing illustrates the example wherein a brush part 120 and a stem 110 are manufactured through double injection molding.
[45] Here, the cosmetic brush may be manufactured through double injection molding such that a stem protrusion 111 is provided on an end of the stem 110 and is surrounded with the brush part 120. This structure increases the coupling force of the brush part 120 with the stem 110.
[46] In particular, when the cosmetic brush is manufactured through double injection molding such that an end of the stem protrusion 111 is enlarged in the shape of a mushroom and the brush part 120 surrounds the stem protrusion 111, the separation of the brush part 120 from the stem 110 is reliably prevented.
[47] The brush part 120 includes a base 121 for coupling the brush part 120 to the stem

Such a male-and- female engaging structure increases the coupling force of the brush part 120 with the stem 110.
[50] In particular, when the cosmetic brush is manufactured through double injection molding such that an end of the stem hole 113 is enlarged in the shape of a mushroom and a predetermined part of the brush part 120 is fitted into the enlarged stem hole 113, the separation of the brush part 120 from the stem 110 is reliably prevented.
[51] The brush part 120 includes a base 121 for coupling the brush part 120 to the stem
110. Bristles 127, which have a thickness ranging from 0.05mm to 0.15mm, are integrated with the base 121 through injection molding. A base protrusion 125 is provided in an end of the base 121, which is opposite the bristles 127, so that the base protrusion 125 is fitted into the stem hole 113.
[52] As shown in FIGS. 2 and 3, when the stem 110 and the brush part 120 are integrated into a single structure through double injection molding, the manufacturing process of the cosmetic brush is considerably simplified, and thereby manufacturing costs are reduced.
[53] FIG. 4 is an exploded perspective view illustrating a cosmetic brush according to a third embodiment of the present invention. The drawing illustrates the example wherein a stem 110 is fitted into a brush part 120.
[54] The cosmetic brush is constructed such that the stem 110 and the brush part 120 are separately formed, and thereafter are assembled with each other.
[55] A stem protrusion 111 is provided on an end of the stem 110. The end of the stem protrusion 111 may be enlarged in the shape of a mushroom.
[56] The brush part 120 includes a base 121 for coupling the brush part 120 to the stem
110. Bristles 127, which have the thickness ranging from 0.05mm to 0.15mm, are integrated with the base 121 through injection molding. A base hole 123 is provided in an end of the base 121, which is opposite the bristles 127, so that the stem protrusion 111 is fitted into the base hole 123.
[57] In order to prevent the coupled brush part 120 and stem 110 from being undesirably separated from each other, the diameter of an inlet of the base hole 123 of the brush part 120 is formed to be smaller than that of an end of the stem protrusion 111.
[58] In such a coupling structure, the brush part 120 and the stem 110 must be coupled to each other through force-fitting. To this end, the stem 110 is made of a hard material, but the brush part 120 is made of a soft material having elasticity.
[59] When the brush part 120 is made of the soft material, the bristles 127 are soft and have good absorbing ability, so that the sensation while being used is considerably improved.
[60] FIG. 5 is an exploded perspective view illustrating a cosmetic brush according to a fourth embodiment of the present invention. The drawing illustrates the example wherein a brush part 120 is fitted into a stem 110.
[61] The cosmetic brush is constructed so that the stem 110 and the brush part 120 are separately formed, and thereafter are assembled with each other.
[62] A stem hole 113 is formed in an end of the stem 110. The stem hole 113 provides the space which is enlarged in the shape of a mushroom.
[63] The brush part 120 includes a base 121 for coupling the brush part 120 to the stem
110. Bristles 127, which have a thickness ranging from 0.05mm to 0.15mm, are integrated with the base 121 through injection molding. A base protrusion 125 is provided in an end of the base 121, which is opposite the bristles 127, so that the base protrusion 125 is fitted into the stem hole 113.
[64] In order to prevent the coupled brush part 120 and stem 110 from becoming undesirably separated from each other, the diameter of the base protrusion 125 of the brush part 120 is formed to be larger than that of an end of the stem hole 113.
[65] In such a coupling structure, force-fitting is inevitable. To this end, the stem 110 is made of a hard material, but the brush part 120 is made of a soft material having elasticity.
[66] That is, when the brush part 120 is force-fitted into the stem 110, the base protrusion
125 of the brush part 120 is elastically deformed so as to be fitted into the stem hole 113.
[67] When the brush part 120 is made of the soft material, the bristles 127 are soft and have good absorbing ability, so that the sensation during use is considerably improved. [68] FIG. 6 is an exploded perspective view illustrating a cosmetic brush according to a fifth embodiment of the present invention. The drawing illustrates the example wherein a brush part 120 and a stem 110 adhere to each other.
[69] The cosmetic brush is constructed so that the stem 110 and the brush part 120 are separately formed, and thereafter are assembled with each other. An adhesive layer 140 is formed between the stem 110 and the brush part 120 so that the stem 110 and the brush part 120 adhere to each other using an adhesive.
[70] In order to increase the coupling force of the stem 110 with the brush part 120, end surfaces of the stem 110 and the brush part 120, which are to be coupled to each other, are formed to be flat.
[71] The brush part 120 includes a base 121 for coupling the brush part 120 to the stem
110. Bristles 127, which have the thickness ranging from 0.05mm to 0.15mm, are integrated with the base 121 through injection molding. A surface of the base 121, which is opposite the bristles 127, serves as an adhesive surface which is attached to the stem 110.

Claims

Claims
[1] A cosmetic brush having a stem and a brush part, wherein the brush part, comprising bristles formed through injection molding, is provided on an end of the stem. [2] The cosmetic brush according to claim 1, wherein the brush part comprises: a base for coupling the brush part to the stem; and the bristles integrated with the base through injection molding, and having a fine thickness. [3] The cosmetic brush according to claim 2, wherein each of the bristles is formed through injection molding to have a thickness ranging from 0.05mm to 0.15mm. [4] The cosmetic brush according to claim 2, wherein the brush part and the stem are formed through double injection molding. [5] The cosmetic brush according to claim 4, wherein a stem protrusion protrudes from an end of the stem, and a base hole is formed in the brush part to enclose the stem protrusion. [6] The cosmetic brush according to claim 4, wherein a stem hole is recessed in an end of the stem, and a base protrusion is provided on the brush part to be fitted into the stem hole. [7] The cosmetic brush according to claim 2, wherein the brush part and the stem are coupled to each other through fitting. [8] The cosmetic brush according to claim 7, wherein a stem protrusion protrudes from an end of the stem, and a base hole is formed in the brush part to enclose the stem protrusion. [9] The cosmetic brush according to claim 7, wherein a stem hole is recessed in an end of the stem, and a base protrusion is provided on the brush part to be fitted into the stem hole. [10] The cosmetic brush according to claim 2, wherein the brush part and the stem are coupled to each other through adhering.
