The invention relates to a kitchen furnishing having a drawer and lighting, wherein the side walls (2) of a drawer (1) are designed at least in segments as a lighting strip (3) made of a transparent or translucent material, and the lighting strip (3) has luminous elements (4).

 Kitchen furniture with drawer and lighting

The invention relates to a kitchen furniture with drawer and lighting.

It is known to provide kitchen furniture with interior lighting to facilitate the orientation of the user in the interior of the kitchen furniture. In the known kitchen furniture lighting is often designed as indirect lighting using light bulbs. There are also kitchen furniture with an externally mounted lighting known, for example, serve as room lighting or as partial lighting a work surface. Finally, kitchen furniture are known, which have illuminable from the outside outer walls of translucent material. Such lighting is used primarily for aesthetic and decorative purposes.

The object of the invention is to provide a lighting for a kitchen furniture with drawer, which is both suitable for illuminating the interior and decorative.

The solution according to the invention provides that the side walls of a drawer are at least partially configured as a light strip made of a transparent material, which is provided with lighting means. The illuminants illuminate the luminous strip indirectly and radiate the light over a large strip-shaped surface. As a result, all areas of the interior of the drawer are illuminated uniformly, without requiring a high intensity of the light source: The light intensity can therefore be withdrawn so that the light strip itself is not the eye of the beholder displayed. The light strip can thus be viewed without glare and unfold in this way its aesthetic effect.

If the light strip is located at the top of the side walls, it is less likely to be obscured by any objects within the drawer and will radiate over the objects, illuminating the entire interior of the drawer. In addition, there is a particularly appealing aesthetic effect when the upper portion of the side walls starting from the top edge is self-luminous.

Both for the purpose of optimal and uniform illumination as well as to achieve the most advantageous aesthetic effect, it is particularly advantageous if the height of the luminous strip is about one third of the height of the side walls. The lower part of the side walls can be made of a non-transparent material in a conventional manner. For the same reasons, it is advantageous if the light strip extends substantially over the entire length of the side walls.

In an embodiment of the invention, it is proposed that light emitting diodes are provided as the light source. Due to their small size, light emitting diodes are particularly well suited for inconspicuous integration into the side walls of the drawers. Furthermore, light emitting diodes consume relatively little electrical energy and generate little waste heat. This facilitates the application in a narrow installation space.

In a further embodiment of the invention, it is proposed that the light-emitting diodes are arranged on the lower narrow side of the light strips. This allows the distribution of a plurality of light emitting diodes over the entire length of the luminous strip in order to illuminate it from below over its entire length. Furthermore, the Light-emitting diodes between the lower edge of the light strips and the remaining, non-transparent part of the side walls inconspicuous and can be accommodated without major construction effort. Finally, this arrangement results in a radiation of the luminescent strips from bottom to top, which produces a very decorative impression.

Production and installation of the LEDs in the drawers is facilitated by the measure that the LEDs are mounted on a strip-shaped board. In this way, it is not necessary to handle individual light-emitting diodes during production or repair, but to save time only with a single circuit board. Particularly when the strip-shaped circuit board is arranged in a groove-shaped recess on the upper side of a lower portion of the side walls and the light strip directly above the strip-shaped circuit board, results in a simple and inexpensive to manufacture construction. The board simply has to be inserted into the groove-shaped recess and connected to the board cable to be connected to a power source, preferably by means of a plug. Thereafter, the light strip is also inserted over the strip-shaped board in the groove-shaped recess and clamped there.

A development of the invention provides that the drawer is provided with a power source for the power supply of the lighting means. By this measure technical problems are avoided, which would be connected to a wiring of the movable drawer on the one hand and the otherwise fixed kitchen furniture on the other. To power the movable drawers would otherwise be otherwise consuming sliding contacts or a complicated cable management with a winding mechanism or the like provided. - A -

In a simple embodiment of the latter measure, it is proposed that conventional dry batteries are provided as the power source. Especially in conjunction with light emitting diodes and economical use only with the drawer open, conventional dry cell batteries can ensure the power supply for about a year with average load.

Another embodiment provides that as a power source rechargeable batteries / accumulators or capacitors are provided. This embodiment is somewhat more expensive, since it requires a charger for the rechargeable power sources, but on the other hand offers the convenience that over the entire life of the kitchen furniture, the batteries do not need to be replaced.

In a further embodiment, an inductive energy transfer between the movable drawer and a fixed part of the kitchen furniture can be provided for charging the power source. Due to the inductive energy transfer the mentioned problems of sliding contacts or cable guides between moving and solid furniture parts are avoided.

Since the lighting of the side walls with the drawer closed is not visible anyway and also for reasons of energy saving, it is proposed that a switching device is provided for switching on the lighting when the drawer is open and switching off when the drawer is closed.

Advantageously, the switching device comprises a reed contact for realizing the switching function. The reed contact operates without contact and is therefore not subject to wear. However, the invention also includes embodiments with mechanically actuated electrical contacts or, for example, inductive activation of the illumination. In this case, an inductive switch-on function can also be connected to an inductive energy transfer in the form that a fixed transmitter coil connected to a power supply unit is brought to the kitchen furniture with a movable receiver coil attached to the drawer only when the drawer is open, so that only when the drawer is open, an inductive energy transfer and thus the activation of the illumination takes place. In such an embodiment, for example, batteries or rechargeable batteries could be dispensed with as an additional power supply.

An embodiment of the invention will be explained in more detail with reference to the drawings. The figures of the drawing show in detail:

In Figure 1 can be seen a drawer 1 of a kitchen cabinet 13 in the mounted state. The drawer 1 has two side walls 2, of which only one is shown in FIG. Furthermore, the drawer consists of a front wall 14, a rear wall 15 and a bottom 16.

The side wall 2 has in its upper part on a light strip 3, which is provided with LEDs 4 (Figure 2). A lower portion 5 of the side wall consists of a conventional, non-transparent Material. The lower portion 5 extends over about two-thirds of the height of the side wall 2. The light strip 3 extends approximately over the upper third of the height of the side wall 2. The light-emitting diodes 4 are directly attached to the lower narrow side of the light strip 3 and illuminate it from below up. The light is distributed over the entire surface of the light strip 3 and emitted by this in the direction of the interior of the drawer 1, but also in the outer space. Especially when the luminescent strip 3 is not completely transparent material, but consists of translucent, light-scattering material, results in a particularly pleasant, unobtrusive, non-dazzling lighting, which causes the viewer a special aesthetic impression. Since the luminescent strip 3 extends simultaneously over the entire length of the side wall 2, the entire interior can be illuminated from the raised position of the luminescent strip 3.

As can be seen in Figure 2, the LEDs 4 are mounted on a strip-shaped board 7. The strip-shaped circuit board 7 is arranged in a groove-shaped recess 8 of the lower portion 5 of the side wall 2. The light strip, not shown in Figure 2 is then also in the groove-shaped recess 8 at the top

When the lighting is turned on, characteristic light bundles 17 are produced in the luminous strip 3, which are scattered by the material of the luminous strip 3 and by profile edges 18 formed in the luminous strip 3 and thereby produce a particularly aesthetic impression (FIG. 1).

The strip-shaped circuit board 7 is connected via a cable 12 to a plug 11. The plug 11 can be plugged into a plug connection 10 of a power source 9. The power source 9 is also in the Drawer 1 accommodated to avoid complicated wiring of the movable drawer 1 on the one hand and the fixed part of the kitchen cabinet 13 on the other.

The power source can either be equipped with conventional dry batteries or with rechargeable batteries or rechargeable capacitors. In the case of rechargeable power sources, the installation of a charger in the kitchen furniture 13 is recommended, preferably an inductive energy transfer between the movable drawer 1 and a fixed part of the kitchen furniture 13 should be provided to avoid the aforementioned problem of cumbersome wiring or sliding contacts.

Especially with non-rechargeable power sources, it is particularly important that the lighting of the drawer 1 can be switched off. For this purpose, an ordinary mechanically operated switch can be provided. However, the use of a reed contact or other non-contact and low-wear switching elements is preferred.

Claims
