Description
[DESCRIPTION]
[invention Title]
WET FORMING COMPACT COMPOSITION CONTAINING VOLATILE SILICONE OIL AND SILICONE RESIN [Technical Field]
The present invention relates to a cake-type, wet- molded compact cosmetic composition, and more particularly to a cake-type, wet-molded compact cosmetic composition which is prepared by wet molding using a mixed solvent of volatile silicone oil and silicone resin so as to have excellent durability and a soft touch feel. [Background Art]
General cake-type compact cosmetic products are prepared using a conventional method comprising mixing an extender pigment, a pigment and a white pigment in a mixer and spraying a binder onto the mixture. However, it is already known that it is difficult to achieve uniform mixing using such a mixing method. To overcome such a shortcoming, the so-called back- injection method which is a wet molding method was developed.
As a wet molding method in the initial stage, the back-injection method was generalized in the 1990s. With respect to the use of the back- injection method, cake-type compact cosmetic compositions are prepared by dispersing a compact powder content (before being molded in a plastic dish) in a mixed solvent of isopropyl alcohol (IPA) and water to prepare a slurry-type content, filling the slurry- type content in a plastic dish by the back- injection method, sucking a given amount of the solvent by a sucking machine,
and then placing the slurry-type cake in a dryer to remove the remaining solvent. This technique has also been widely used in the preparation of eye shadows or blushers. Also, because water and IPA are used as solvents, the compact cosmetic products have problems in that the hydrophilicity of the solvents makes it difficult to contain a large amount of powder coated with dimethylpolysiloxane or alkylsilane for uniform dispersion, and thus the durability thereof is low. Recently, an emulsifier has been substituted for a mixed solvent of IPA and water in wet molding in order to ensure the uniform dispersion of coated powder and to make it possible to contain a large amount of coated powder, thus improving the durability of compact cosmetic products. However, due to the use of the emulsifier for containing a large amount of coated powder, the compact cosmetic products have reduced resistance to sebum and sweat when being applied for a long time, and thus show greasiness and darkness . Korean Patent Laid-Open Publication Nos . 1999-40922 and 2003-50531, Japanese Patent Laid-Open Publication No. Hei 3-204806 and US Patent Publication No. 2005-0142089 disclose compositions prepared using silicone oil and silicone resin. The formulations of these compositions are liquid-type foundations or makeup bases, and in the case of the liquid-type foundations, an emulsifier must generally be used to uniformly disperse oil and water. However, as described above, due to the use of the emulsifier, the liquid-type foundations have reduced resistance to sebum and sweat when being applied for a long time, and thus show
greasiness and darkness. [Disclosure] [Technical Problem]
Accordingly, the present invention have conducted repeated studies to develop a wet-molded compact cosmetic composition having a soft touch feel and excellent durability and, as a result, have found that a wet-molded, cake-type compact cosmetic composition can be prepared by uniformly dispersing coated makeup powder into a slurry powder using a mixed solvent of silicone oil and silicon resin without using any emulsifier in order to improve durability, molding the dispersion and drying the molded material to remove the mixed solvent, thereby completing the present invention. Therefore, it is an object of the present invention to provide a wet-molded compact cosmetic composition having excellent durability together with a soft touch feel.
To achieve the above object, the present invention provides a wet-molded compact cosmetic composition which comprises coated makeup powder and is prepared using a mixed solvent of volatile silicone oil and silicone resin.
More specifically, a compact cosmetic composition according to the present invention contains base makeup powder and silicone resin and is prepared by dispersing, based on the total weight of the composition before wet molding, 60-70 wt% of coated makeup powder into a slurry phase using 30-40 wt% of a mixed solvent of volatile silicone oil and silicone resin, molding the slurry and drying the molded material to remove the volatile silicone
oil used.
The above and other objects, features and advantages of the present invention will be apparent to a person skilled in the art from the following detailed description. [Advantageous Effects]
The wet-molded compact cosmetic composition according to the present invention is prepared by wet-molding using a mixed solvent of volatile silicone oil and silicone resin without using any emulsifier, and thus has excellent durability while showing a soft touch feel. [Best Mode]
Hereinafter, the present invention will be described in further detail.
In order for a wet-molded compact cosmetic composition to have excellent durability and a soft touch feel which are intended in the present invention, the selection of the kind of a powder coating substance and a solvent is very important.
In the present invention, in order to prepare a wet- molded compact cosmetic composition having a soft touch feel and excellent durability, makeup powder coated with a coating substance having excellent water resistance and oil resistance is used.
As the coating substance, dimethylpolysiloxane or alkylsilane having water resistance and oil resistance properties is generally used, but the scope of the present invention is not limited thereto. However, it is preferable to apply powder prepared by wet coating in order to improve durability. Generally, wet coating is carried
out by selecting the contents of powder to be coated and a desired coating substance, mixing the powder and the coating substance in a solvent, washing out or volatilizing the solvent such that only the coating substance remains on the powder, and then heat-treating the powder.
Meanwhile, the components of the makeup powder may include an extender pigment, a pigment and a white pigment, which are conventionally used in makeup products. Specifically, talc, mica, sericite, silica, nylon powder, silicon powder, polymethylmethacrylate (PMMA) , boron nitride powder and barium sulfate may be used, but the scope of the present invention is not limited thereto.
In the compact cosmetic composition according to the present invention, the content of the coated makeup powder is preferably 60-70 wt% based on the total weight of the composition. If the content of the coated makeup powder is less than 60 wt%, the powder flows out during a molding process, thus causing a problem of moldability, and if it exceeds 70 wt%, the uniform dispersion of the coated powder is difficult. Also, the powder component, which is a powder content coated with silicone or alkylsilane, refers to a cake-type powder content that is in a step before molding and contains an extender pigment, a pigment, a white pigment and perfume . In the present invention, in order to uniformly disperse the coated makeup powder into a slurry phase, a solvent obtained by mixing volatile silicone oil and silicone resin at a weight ratio of 97:3 to 99:1 is used.
In the wet-molded compact cosmetic composition according to the present invention, the content of the
solvent is preferably 30-40 wt% based on the total weight of the composition. If the content of the solvent is less than 30 wt%, the coated makeup powder content is not uniformly dispersed, and if the content exceeds 40 wt%, a problem of moldability arises, and cracks occur upon the drying of the composition, even though the composition is molded.
The volatile silicone oil that is used in the present invention can be easily selected from commercially available products by a person skilled in the art.
Examples of volatile silicone oil which may be used in the present invention include, but are not limited to, DC 200
(0.65cs) which is dimethicone commercially available from
Dow Corning, and DC 345 which is cyclomethicone commercially available from Dow Corning.
In the present invention, in order to maintain a cake shape while improving durability, trimethylsiiloxysilicate is used as the silicone resin. The trimethylsiiloxysilicate can be easily selected from commercially available products by a person skilled in the art. Examples of trimethylsiiloxysilicate which may be used in the present invention include, but are not limited, KF-7312 F, KF-7312 J, KF-7312 K, KF-9001, X-21-5249, KF- 9002, X-21-5250 and KF-9021, which are commercially available from Shinetsu, Japan.
Hereinafter, a process of wet molding the composition according to the present invention will be described.
First, a mixed solvent of volatile silicone oil and silicone resin is placed in a universal mixer together with coated makeup powder and sealed. The contents of the mixer
are mixed for about 5 minutes, and a given amount of the mixture is filled in a molding dish and molded with molding cloth applied to the molding dish so as to adsorb and remove about 30-60% of the solvent. Then, the molded material is dried in a dryer at about 60-150 °C for 2-12 hours to completely remove the remaining solvent .
The inventive wet-molded compact composition which can have excellent durability and give a sift touch feel may have a conventional formulation. For example, the composition may be formulated in the form of twin cake, compact, powder compact and pressed powder. The composition having each of these formulations may additionally contain a variety of suitable bases and additives required for the formulation of the composition, and the kind and amount of these additional components can be easily selected by a person skilled in the art. [Mode for Invention]
