Abstract

The invention relates to catalysts, to the methods for the production thereof and can be used in electrodes for electrochemical gas sensors, fuel cells and hydrocarbon dehydrogenation reactions. The inventive catalyst producing method involves adding a nanodiamond aqueous suspension, having a specific surface area of 200-600 m2/g and the nanodiamond content of 20-85 mass% in relation to a pure metal, into the aqueous solution of the platinum group metal and lithium formiate complexes, and carrying out synthesis at a temperature of 20-40°C with a pH of 7 and an acid/salt concentration in the solution ranging from 10-3 to5⋅10-3 mol/litre. The catalysts exhibit a high selectivity when they are used in the test electrodes of CO electrochemical gas sensors and a high efficiency in hydrocarbon dehydrogenation processes.
