Abstract

Disclosed is an opening and closing device so that a resilient unit one end of which is rotatably connected to a fixed section fixed to the first unit and the opposite end of which is rotatably connected to a movable section fixed to the second unit, whereby the opening and closing device can be made thinner. A opening and closing device for use in a portable device which slidably opens and closes a second unit with respect to a first unit comprises: a fixed section fixed to the first unit; a movable section fixed to the second unit; movable rails fixed to the movable section and movable along the fixed section; and a resilient member opposite ends of which are rotatably connected to the fixed section and the movable section to provide a resilient force to the second unit.
