Abstract
The invention provides a router (1) for providing isochronous data transfer and asynchronous data transfer on the basis of a predetermined protocol between devices of different network sections (2) connected to said router (1), wherein a connection management application executed by said router (1) translates a user request to transfer data from a transmitting device (5) of a first network section (2-1) to a receiving device (6) of a second network section (2-2) into commands of said protocol for establishing a first data connection between said transmitting device (5) and said router (1) and a second data connection between said router (1) and said receiving device (6), wherein said data is transferred from said transmitting device (5) via the established data connections to said receiving device (6).
