Description

DISPOSABLE FORMWORK
DESCRIPTION
The present patent relates to equipment for construction works and particularly relates to a new modular formwork for concrete casting to obtain brick seat curbs as well as for guiding and positioning panels or reinforcement elements for concrete casting, to obtain walls, columns or pillars in general.
During the construction phases of vertical walls and columns or pillars in any type of building work, after casting and partial consolidation of the reinforced concrete bed it is possible to proceed with the layout mark-off of the building plan, for example by way of laser beams or string. This to the purpose of indicating exactly where the walls, pillars and whatever else, are to be erected.
The construction of concrete pillars, columns or walls, furthermore requires the arrangement of reinforcement irons protruding vertically from the concrete bed and constrained to the horizontal reinforcement irons sunken in concrete. Said reinforcement irons used as reference points for the erection of walls and pillars can however be subject to shifting and bending during the concrete bed casting operations.
Said reinforced concrete bed is thus appropriately provided with concrete casting formwork to obtain walls and/or pillars. To this purpose, reusable formworks are known and used comprising flat panels that are for example either in wood or plastic and metal materials. After the concrete cast is set, said items are removed and reused for the construction of other walls or pillars.
For the construction of masonry walls instead, after having waited for the concrete consolidation time as required, it is necessary to proceed with the construction of a base brick seat curb in concrete approximately 18-20 cm high, for subsequent erection thereon of the brickwork walls.
Said brick seat curb acts as a restraint for the subsequent forming of the concrete screed layer, where are all the water, gas and electric wiring cables are sunken into the concrete.
Before forming the concrete screed layer, it is necessary to lay in the waterproofing layer on said concrete bed and on said brick seat curb, the function of which is to prevent the ascent of ground moisture that would affect the building's plaster and brickworks.
The subject of the present invention is therefore a new modular formwork for concrete casting to obtain brick seat curbs as well as for guiding and positioning panels or reinforcement elements, for concrete casting to obtain walls, columns or pillars in general. The new modular formwork is principally aimed at allowing for the positioning and immovable fixing of the formwork members it is composed of to the concrete bed straight after the bed is cast, thereby providing for accurate identification of the reference points necessary for the construction of the walls and pillars without them being subject to any shifting, also thanks to appropriate restraint and fixing brackets that can be fitted onto said formwork members.
Another purpose of the present invention is to achieve optimised waterproofing levels between the base of the walls, pillars and columns and the construction works erected above, whilst replacing the waterproofing insulation sheath. Another important purpose of the present invention is to guarantee the adhesion of the concrete cast to the internal wall of the formwork and/or of the plaster to the external wall of the formwork. This purpose is achieved by the particular finish applied to the surfaces of said formworks that are provided with rows of e.g. dovetail-shaped protruding ridges, for increased grip properties of the concrete and/or the plaster onto said surface. The foregoing, plus a set of further direct and complementary purposes are achieved by the new type of modular formwork comprising one or more disposable formworks at least partially delimiting a substantially parallelepiped or cylindrical volume, whereby each one of the foregoing disposable formworks in turn comprise one or more profile(s) obtained by plastic material extrusion, whereby each one of said profiles are substantially flat and comprises at least one specifically moulded edge for stable and mutual coupling up for the interconnection of one or more than one complementary profile(s). Said profiles are particularly formed by the extrusion of waterproof, moisture- proof and water-repellent plastic materials, preferably non-toxic and featuring enhanced long-term degradability time periods.
The new formwork is easily and immediately assembled. It is modular, i.e. it comprises a number of said profiles that can be combined for interconnection with one another based on specific construction requirements. The new formwork is furthermore easy to use in that it is provides for quick positioning and fixing so that the operator can immediately verify whether relative positioning is compliant with the works project on order.
The formworks specifically comprises a number of flat profiles for mutual coupling-up for interconnection to form one or more than one conduit-type formworks for concrete casting to construct a base brick seat curb for masonry walls.
Said profiles are preferably obtained by the extrusion of plastic material into extruded elements featuring a substantially L-shaped section, whereby a first side wall or side board is formed to delimit one of the conduit-type formwork side walls, whilst a second wall that is orthogonal to the first is provided for at least partial, width- wise delimitation of the base of the conduit. The interconnection of two of said complementary L-shaped profiles form the conduit-type formwork , where the base of the conduit is delimited by the arrangement alongside one another and by the possible partial overlapping of the corresponding base wall member.
It is particularly provided that the edge of said base wall member on the L-shaped profile is formed for interconnection with the edge of a base wall member on the complementary L-shaped profile. To guarantee the stable positioning of said profiles on the concrete bed or on the rest surface, the immovable constraint of said profiles is provided by driving in screws or nails inserted into holes formed into said base wall members, or by other forms of fixing thereof.
The new formwork furthermore comprises one or more restraint brackets suitable for application to said complementary profiles and interconnected to form the foregoing conduit-type formwork to hold the thrust by the concrete casting into the conduit-type formwork, thereby preventing deformation to the profile side board walls. Each one of said brackets comprises for example an upside-down U profile, composed of a stiff material, e.g. of metal materials, suitable for being slipped onto said conduit-type formwork further to two side bars, each one integral with one of said U-profile end sections and furthermore suitable for external and parallel arrangement to the length- wise expansion of the conduit-type formwork, to hold the thrust of the concrete cast and to prevent the divergence by the side board walls.
It can be provided that said formwork comprises at least two typologies of said L- shaped profiles, i.e. one male and one female, complementary to one another and suitable for mutual coupling and interconnection for the foregoing formation of said conduit-type formwork, wherein said base wall member of each one of the said male profiles comprises a moulded male edge provided with at least one protrusion that covers, in whole or in part, the length of the edge itself and is suitable for being inserted into a corresponding seating, obtained in a corresponding position on the moulded female edge comprised on a base wall member of a complementary female profile. To achieve a stable coupling for the interconnection of said complementary male and female profiles it is thus sufficient to overlap said male profile onto said female profile and to press down on the whole of the length-wise edges for ' relative coupling and interconnection provided, for example, by means of a rotating roller pressed down and run along all of said conduit-type formwork. It can be provided that said formwork comprises at least one or more than one modular series of the foregoing male profiles and/or one or more than one modular series of the foregoing female L-shaped profiles, each series having a base wall member with a different width. In so doing, by combination and appropriate interconnection of the male and the female profiles, it is possible to obtain conduit-type formwork having 25, 30 and 40 cm widths, based on works design requirements.
It is provided that said profiles are extruded in pieces a few metres long, for example 3-4 metres long, to facilitate carriage, handling and storage operations and then cut to size during the works processes, based on works design data.
Should it instead be necessary to join up conduits, for example to join up two aligned conduits, use of asphalt-impregnated sealing tape is required with which the junction line between the aligned conduits is aptly sealed to thus become water and moisture-proof. For the execution of T-junctions or corner-junctions, e.g. right-angled junctions, it is sufficient to cut the profiles to size and to seal the junction lines using said asphalt-impregnated sealing tape.
The formwork furthermore comprises a number of flat profiles for mutual coupling-up and interconnection to form drinking glass-shaped formworks, each one delimited by its side walls, for concrete casting to construct base brick seats for columns or pillars.
The preferred embodiment of the invention does in fact aptly provide that each one of said profiles that can be coupled to interconnect into the foregoing drinking glass-shaped formworks is obtained by the extrusion of plastic material into extruded elements featuring a substantially flat shape with an indefinite length, e.g. 3-4 metres long that must then be cut to size in order to delimit the height of the drinking glass-shaped formwork, for example 18-20 mm and its width, for example 25 cm, 30 cm, 40 cm, delimiting the width of one of the drinking glass- shaped formwork' s side walls or of a portion thereof. For the formation of said drinking glass-shaped formwork it is therefore necessary to interconnect two or more than two of said complementary flat profiles. For example, in order to obtain drinking glass-shaped formworks having a square or rectangular section, it is necessary to proceed with linear interconnection of four of said complementary flat profiles, each one delimiting a side wall of the drinking glass-shaped formwork, having either a square or rectangular shaped section.
To this purpose, it is provided that either one or both of the side edges of said flat profiles are moulded for interconnection with the corresponding linear edge of the adjacent flat profile.
To obtain a drinking glass-shaped formwork for columns, said profiles are instead obtained by the extrusion of plastic material into extruded elements featuring a substantially flat-arched shape, whereby the interconnection of two or more than two complementary flat-arched shaped profiles delimit the cylindrical side wall of the drinking glass-shaped formwork.
It can furthermore be provided that the new formwork comprises a further one or more than one profile(s) featuring L-shaped sections for use as base brackets for said drinking glass-shaped formwork for pillars or columns. Said L-shaped profiles particularly comprise an initial side wall suitable for being constrained to the drinking glass's side- wall, and a second side- wall that is orthogonal to the first, suitable for being rested down on and definitely constrained to the base planar surface.

For the execution of T-junctions or corner-junctions, e.g. right-angled junctions of two conduit-type formworks (1), it is sufficient to cut the profiles (2, 3) forming the formwork to size as shown by way of example in figures 2a-2d and then to seal the junction lines using asphalt-impregnated sealing tape (N), for guaranteed sealing thereof.
The formwork furthermore comprises a number of flat profiles (6; 9) for mutual coupling-up and interconnection to form drinking glass-shaped formworks (5; 8) laterally delimiting a volume (V) for concrete casting to construct base brick seats for columns or pillars.
The embodiment represented in figure 4, in order to obtain drinking glass-shaped formworks (5) for pillars having a square or rectangular section, it is necessary to proceed with linear interconnection of four of the said complementary flat profiles (6), each one having a substantially flat shape and either a square or rectangular shaped section and delimiting a side wall of the drinking glass-shaped formwork
(5).
To this purpose, it is provided that either one or both of the side edges (61; 62) of said flat, linear profiles (6) are moulded for interconnection with the corresponding linear edge of the adjacent flat profile. In particular, each one of the said linear flat profile (6) comprises a male side edge

Likewise, as shown in figures 5 and 5a, to obtain the drinking glass-shaped formwork (8) for columns, it is necessary to couple up and interconnect two or more than two of said flat, arch-shaped profiles (9) whereby the coupled interconnection of two or more than two of said complementary arched profiles (9) delimits the side walls of the drinking glass-shaped formwork (8). In particular, each one of the said flat arch-shaped profiles (9) comprises a male side edge (91) provided with at least one protrusion (93) arranged to cover, in whole or in part, the length of the male edge (91) itself and is suitable for being inserted into a corresponding seating (94), obtained in a corresponding position on the moulded female edge (92) of the complementary and adjacent linear flat profile (9).
Said drinking glass-shaped formworks (5; 8) either for pillars or for columns, also comprise one or more than one base bracket(s) (7; 10) for said drinking glasses, where each one of said base bracket(s) (7; 10) comprises at least one profile provided with an L-shaped section, with an initial side wall (71; 101) suitable for constraint to the linear flat profile (6) or arched profile (9) acting as the side walls of the drinking glass-shaped formwork (5; 8), and a second side wall (72; 102) that is orthogonal to the first, suitable for being rested down on and definitely constrained to the base planar surface. The preferred embodiment of the invention provides that the foregoing drinking glass-shaped formwork (5) for pillars comprises one of said base bracket(s) (7) constrained to each single one of the foregoing linear flat profiles (6) acting as the side walls of the drinking glass (5) whilst the foregoing drinking glass-shaped formwork (8) for columns comprises one single ring-shaped base bracket (10) with one initial cylindrical side wall (101) suitable for constraint to the foregoing flat arch-shaped profiles (9) forming the drinking glass-shaped formwork (8) and a second ring-shaped side wall (102), orthogonal to said initial cylindrical side wall (101), suitable for being rested down on and definitely constrained to the base planar surface. As represented in figure 2g, it can furthermore be provided that the foregoing L- shaped male (2) or female (3) profile can be usefully implemented as a disposable formwork for the positioning of panels (P), e.g. heat-insulation panels constituting the insulation jacket of a wall (M) that has already been erected or not yet erected, whereby said panel (P) is rested onto the foregoing base wall member (22; 32) and then constrained between the foregoing side board (25; 35) and the foregoing moulded edge (21; 31) of said base wall member (22; 32). To this purpose, implementation of an L-shaped female profile (3a) is preferable as said base wall member (32) is 6 cm wide. One skilled in the art can see how the foregoing description sets forth sufficient schematic evidence for the actual execution of the present invention; consequently, it is hereby intended that the concrete application of the present invention may also include some variants, without any prejudice whatsoever to the substance of the inventive principles disclosed herein. Therefore, with reference to the above description and to the attached drawings, the following claims are expressed.
